Fresh and delicious Italian dishes. All staff were friendly and welcoming. You could tell everyone cared about making sure customers had a great experience. Make sure to check out their ticket communication system with the kitchen! Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some great Italian pasta (and Tiramisu)!

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. My mussel appetizer was delicious. Get some bread and butter to dip in the sauce! The veal was very flavorful but just a little tough. Prices were reasonable. A very enjoyable meal.

Had a wonderful experience here last week. We were in Brighton for a short period of time and just looked for restaurants close to our accommodation and Casalingo had excellent reviews so we decided to come here. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and sat on a nice table and were offered drinks immediately. We got our drinks and proceeded to order our mains. I got lasagne and my husband got the seafood linguine... BOTH WERE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Well worth the money and the vibes inside were lovely too. We'll definitely be back when we next come to Brigton 😁

Went to this restaurant for a late night dinner while staying in Brighton for a weekend with my father. The experience was so good we ended up coming again two days later, and he even came another night by himself. Everything we ordered was excellent, pasta, lamb, veal, and even the limoncello cheesecake for dessert. Our servers Marco and Danielle were pleasant and attentive for all of our visits. I would recommend this restaurant for authentic and fairly priced Italian food for anyone visiting Brighton

It’s always pleasing to visit a restaurant where all the staff are of that ethnicity, and in this case it was true with staff from different parts of Italy. All staff are engaging especially Mario and the waitress who was able to offer an honest view on menu items. The food was faultless too.

Outstanding food, really nice staff. Had the figs wrapped in paraham to start. Was excellent. And I cannot recommend the creamy prawns for mains. They had a lovely wine selection and really good desserts. When giving us the bill they topped up our glasses of limonchello. Really nice touch to end the evening.

•The atmosphere was like a little traditional Italian restaurant which added to the experience. •This would definitely be a great date/ family meal idea if you’re in Brighton. •The waiter greeted us on arrival at the door and seated us as we had a reservation (I did hear them turn people down who walked in so I’d advise booking). The service was great up until it came time to get the bill. We waited 20 mins after requesting it 3 times. •My boyfriend and son got the Spaghetti alla Bolognese with a side of garlic bread and I decided on the Antipasto di Pesce (for 1) with 2 sides of garlic mushrooms. I have to say the presentation of the food was pretty standard and I wasn’t happy with the portions of seafood I was given (Just 1 grilled whole prawn, a load of battered sprats and cold-water prawns and not a hint of the smoked swordfish but instead, 2 small cuts of smoked tuna). The taste was nice though. •I accompanied this with the garlic mushroom which were completely different to my second portion of the same thing. My first was just normal halves of button mushrooms and the second had a mixture of wild mushrooms which I enjoyed but found unusual as surely both should have looked the same.

Always brilliant, the authentic Italian food is to die for and the service is wonderfully warm and friendly. We have been going here for years and it never fails to impress. The tricolore and mussels starters are excellent, so are the veal and prawns mains. Funghi (mushrooms) trifolati is also one of my favourites, and a good selection of wine and generous portions means we never leave Casalingo unhappy!

Called at 5pm with little hope of a 6pm reservation for 2 but a very friendly Italian lady (can't remember her name, sorry) accommodated us. Arrived at around 5:50pm and presumably the same lady was happy to greet us and take us to our table. It was clear sanitation was very high on their priorities due to Covid-19, which naturally was appreciated and made us feel at ease. The place was quiet which we liked, as my girlfriend and I intentionally went for an early dinner. It did become busier as the evening went on but the tables were appropriately separated. Service was excellent throughout the evening and they couldn't have been more hospitable. To start, we ordered mussels in a creamy sauce of white wine, garlic and shallots. We also shared a small helping of mixed olives and bread. From ordering, it took around 10 minutes to arrive. It was hot, well presented and delicious. For main courses, my girlfriend ordered Linguine Pescatore. I ordered Lasagne Al Forno. They both arrived similarly, around 10 minutes after finishing our starters. Both again arrived hot, looking the part and tasted great. My girlfriend's linguine looked excellent with plenty of king prawns, mussels and clams. It was all deliciously coated with just the right amount of tomato sauce, with some in every mouthful of pasta and seafood. My lasagne was excellent, including several layers and just the right amount of golden-brown cheese on top and an edge that was slightly crispy, just like taking the corner slice at home. No desserts, just some after dinner drinks with complimentary mint chocolates as is common with other places. Drinks were great and overall priced fairly. Really good classic Italian food with no gimmicks, highly recommended.

A nice and intimate restaurant, we had I think a sea food platter and the carbonara. It was nice but after reading incredible reviews maybe my expectations were put too high. I didn't think it was incredible, and I've had better carbonaras, but it was ok. My partner did really enjoy his seafood.

Just had a meal at casalingo and can't speak highly enough of the staff and owner. My meal of calves liver was excellent and when my wife's risotto wasn't to her taste the owner was so polite and instantly offered to get it made again.then despite our complaint we were offered another drink to compensate and and the follow up meal was perfect..thank you for a great experience..I'll judge all restaurants by your high standards

Had a lovely meal for 2 last night. Felt very comfortable with the social distancing measures in place and the food was as good as ever. The king prawns are divine and one of the yummiest bruschettas I've had in a long time. All staff were so friendly but also kept their distance. Food is amazing, good size portions, menu changes seasonally, atmosphere is authentic and warm, and the staff are lovely. Would recommend everything on the menu, and anything from the fabulous selection of Liquors and aperitifs behind the bar.

What to say about Casalingo to do it justice? A slice of Italy in the heart of Brighton. The cocktails are great. The negroni packs a punch. The prosciutto with goats cheese and fig is epic. I could eat the pollo casalingo every night! My partner had the prawns which were huge, perfectly cooked and with a nice chilli lemon ginger kick. The creme brûlée is fantastic. On top of the great food, the staff are super friendly and attentive. We sat by their station and saw them wiping down the menus and sanitising constantly. A great meal in a great local restaurant. Five stars!

What a lovely family owned restaurant! Throughout our stay the service was amazing, they catered for all our needs (I'm gluten free) the food was fresh, tasty and flavoursome.
