Classic, simple and done brilliantly. Our waiter was enthusiastic, professional and was a pleasure to have serve us. Staff on a whole were nice and polite! Food was done well, and there was a short waiting time (pretty short, 10> Mins) Atmosphere was nice! It's just a very nice example of a brilliant Italian restaurant. 9.5/10

Went here with my 2 young daughters. We didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us by offering us an hour and a half slot because of other bookings, which was more than enough time. Starters came out promptly enough. Then we had the 45min wait for the mains....which I'm guessing the kitchen may have forgot about as we ordered using the online app. They acknowledged the delay on their part and as a pleasant surprise didn't charge us for the mains. I thought that was very considerate of them to be fair, knowing that my children had been waiting patiently. Staff service was very good throughout and they were apologetic about the mains delay. All that aside the food was quite good and this experience hasn't put me off....happy to go again.

Stopped in at this chain for a late dinner. Lasagna was hot and tasty if a bit too sloppy with sauce. Pasta bowl ordered by my guest was fine but less spicy than expected. The service was fast if a bit frantic. Seating near the kitchen and takeout prep area was quite a bit distracting. Overall the food was ok but nothing exceptional. Reasonable for a late night bite. .

I really like the place here. Went for carbonara here 3x and service is amazing, staff really friendly as well. Food is great and big portions at least to me. Make sure to enquire about the bookings because they might be over booked and not accept walk ins, but I haven't tried it, i just called once and was told they are fully booked so please make sure to call before hand. Love this place!

Best Vegan Pizza in Cardiff. Worth the money, for good fresh ingredients, put together perfectly. I don't think we will order anywhere else for pizza again. Very happy we tried this place :)

Visited on Monday 11th April for dinner. Absolutely wonderful experience. On arrival we were asked about allergens and provided and allergen book with all the dishes and drinks in. We ordered the Folded Garlic Bread and Chicken Lecca-lecca for starters, the garlic bread tasted great with the caramelised onions and chicken was tender and juicy. For mains we ordered the Pollo Della Casa and the Asparagus & Pancetta Carbonara Frilly Tagliatelle. Both dishes were cooked very well and served promptly. Desert was Chocolate Etna and Vanilla Gelato. Chocolate Etna was served with the warm caramel poured over by the waiter. Overall lovely experience and would highly recommend.

My friends and i love ASK Italian Swansea so we we were on a day trip to Cardiff we thought we would try the one here. We loved our food, just as good as the one in swansea. I ordered my three courses off the Valentine's menu and only came to £20 for all 3 so was a bargain. We went at the busiest time and they still managed to find us a table, the service was spot on too with friendly and attentive waitresses. Will come here again on our next visit to Cardiff.

Seriously yummy! The cheese fondue is next level 😍😍 if you can only fit in two courses do starter a d dessert - I'm always gutted I can't fit in dessert, they look amazing! Downstairs can feel a bit cramped when it's busy but there's lovely seating upstairs!

Ask Italian is hands down, one of THE best and authentic Italian restaurants in Cardiff. I usually order the Aragosta E Gamberoni or the Linguini Carbonara, and I must say that both deliver taste wise. Moreover, I extremely enjoy the Calamari and Butterfly King Prawns, as I believe they both are excellent starters. The french fries are good, not extremely special. However, the fries today seemed as if they were deep fried twice! The service may be slow as the food is cooked freshly. However, the taste and excellent service compensates that aspect. The employees are almost always helpful! I recommend Ask Italian if you're searching for authentic Italian food in Cardiff!

We went here before going to a show, the food was good, starters, mains and drinks for two came to £50. The bruschetta could have done with small slices of red onion and I’m not sure it had any balsamic and olive oil. But it was gigantic starter, our local ask does it on just a couple of slices of ciabatta. The house style chicken penne (penne pollo del a casa) was great too, nicely presented and good quality. I was seriously stuffed given the size of the starter 😂 The serving staff were really great and you didn’t wait very long before someone spotted a glass or plate was empty, and that was in a full restaurant!

Had a nice meal here a few evenings ago. We managed to book a table inside last minute. Unfortunately the day previously we waited outside for some time with staff staring at us but not attending, only to be told they were complete full for the evening. The food was really tasty although there were quite a few options missing from the menu. Their homemade lemonade is delicious!

Great Atmosphere and friendly staff. However, the food was mundane, the cheese on the pizza was slightly under cooked, the starter was supposed to have Rosemary on the bread, it had none. The desert looked pre-made and could have been so much better. In all, not worth the money they charge.

Great restaurant! Lovely tasting food and even though it's a chain restaurant it doesn't feel it, it feels very authentic. The menu is very varied with lots of choice and we were greeted with two tasters of still lemonade which was a lovely touch. I can highly recommend the chocolate etna dessert which is out of this world. Should also mention the fantastic staff who were all so friendly and helpful :)

It was a nice meal, with brilliant service. I was with my friend & the food came out hot & quickly. We sat outside & they put shawls on the back of the chairs in case you get cold, which is good. I had pizza & asked for take away as couldn't eat it all & it was put in take away tub. Then I had ice cream gondola it came with hot salted caramel sauce, my only complaint is that the little jug the caramel sauce came in was too small & spoon too big. So when caramel sauce was hot it poured out but when cooler it stayed in jug & couldn't get it out as spoon too big! My friend loved her pasta & loved even more that she could smoke at our outside table, so good all round.

The best place for food and staff so helpful and patient with all the stupid restrictions and short notice changes. Couldn't do enough when asking questions about our booking etc. Highly recommend. Just so sad they and many other places have been treated so bad by the welsh administration.

It's ok but nothing more. The shin was tasty but very little meat in the dish. The spicy pasta dish was smothered with tomato sauce, killing any spice. The only thing I would order again is the cookie & ice cream with salted caramel sauce, served in a hot cast iron dish, really yummy.

Fantastic food and service. I couldn't have asked for more. We had an issue with voucher cloud saying a discount was available on a Saturday and it wasn't and fair play to the staff there they gave us the discount anyway. No fuss no issues. I recommend the belly pork that was amazing

Dear Readers, Today I went to ASK Italian for Dinner and would like to share my experience: Service: The service staff welcomed us with a joke we didn’t understand. Although they were nice all the time, they tried to be funny all the time, couldn’t remember what we ordered (the restaurant wasn’t that full) and spread hectic by running from table to table. Please slow down guys. Food: The food was unfortunately not more than average. We had bruschetta, olives, Spagetti Frutti de Mare and Insalata Pollo Pancetta. The tomatoes had no real taste. Atmosphere: The atmosphere though was nice, still a bit loud. Overall Rating: Fair value for money, if you don’t have high expectations.

This is is a great Italian restaurant in the centre of Cardiff. The food is outstanding and the service is fast and friendly. I had the prima stromboli pizza. The base was cooked perfectly and had great taste. The pepperoni and chilli were just right. The tiramisu was fantastic. It was all matched with great wine by the glass. I wanted to go back the next night but they were booked out, so I recommend booking ahead.

Fantastic! We changed the reservation time from 8 until 9. But then decided we would arrive at just after 8. They had no problem, very welcoming and the service was second to none. I cannot reccomend highly enough, the food was excellent and served very promptly. We will definitely be back.

This was the first time we had ever set foot in an Ask Italian and it certainly won't be the last. The food was stunning and the service from our waiter was wonderful. I can't comment on the price however as I didn't foot the bill but there was no complaints made to me in regards to it ehich is always a good sign!!

Thanks to the weather we are having we were able to sit outside not in the arcade and it provided a good atmosphere for eating. The service was good and cheerful and the food was extremely fine. Recommend eating here on warm balmy nights. Well worth a visit.
