Really lovely bar, very friendly helpful staff. Had drinks and cicchetti downstairs. Will definitely try the restaurant next.

A lovely place in town to stop for a drink and some small plates. The griddled peas are only on while they are in season but so good! Friendly and knowledgeable staff who know the food and drink menus and are happy to chat or leave you to it. Five stars!

Just visited Cardiff for only a couple of days but really needed to recommend this place. The decor is simple but tasteful as is the beautiful food (my favourite was the fennel with orange and olives). The beer, wine and spirits were all well chosen so it's also a great place to go for just a drink. To top it all off the staff were very friendly and helpful even when the place got busy. I only wish I lived nearer.

Got to visit this lovely new place on a recent visit home. Had a great experience, Christian let me try some food even though I was just there for a few beers with some friends. Harvey my friendly bar tender extended me every courtesy guiding me to the lowest priced larger, which I must add was delicious and poured perfectly. There’s a great little area to eat upstairs as well as nice outdoor terrace area. This is the perfect quiet date spot or a nice place to catch up with friends, can’t wait till I’m in town again to wet my whistle and check out the tapas on offer.

Cozy Restaurant bar with delicious small plates of food all reasonably priced so we were able to sample most of the menu. Really cozy atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Lots of veggie options too.

Just thought I should share this for parents with babies thinking of going - Barcareto is very baby friendly and they have high chairs, changing facilities and space to park buggies. The staff were really accommodating too. Aside from that, the drinks and ciccetti are excellent and such a decent price! There’s such a good vibe there, and the terrace is beautiful on a sunny day. Definitely my favourite place to go on Church st so far 👍👍

Fantastic food, great variety of dishes and all super tasty. 5/5 for food but service was poor and needs improving. We were a group of 4 girlfriends catching up pre-Christmas, unfortunately we felt rushed to order as soon as we sat down, we were badgered 3 times within the space of 5 minutes to order (before asking what drinks we wanted). Our waitress wasn’t a ‘natural’ people person, she appeared very task oriented rather than allowing us to have a calm relaxing evening. Awkward dynamic at the end of the evening when our bill was brought to the table… on an iPad (apparently not printing bills?) would’ve preferred to have been given our bill to peruse (and divvy) at our leisure, rather than having our waitress overlooking us (holding said iPad whilst we tried to see the bill). It was most uncomfortable and an easy fix should you change your policy and start printing bills!

What an amazing place. Fantastic selection of great wines by the glass, lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff Food was delicious, fantastic selection of Chicchetti. Loved the panelle (a bargain for £1) as well as the devilled eggs and ariancini. Fried mozzarella was delicious too. Can't wait to come back to work my way through the rest of the menu Also, music was great and it was the perfect place to people watch on Church Street

Went with a few friends this evening and grabbed a table just outside on the street. The food was amazing, would definitely recommend the arrincino. Had a great bottle of red wine and a properly made aperol spritz (not the weak ones you usually find in the UK which are mostly soda water). The atmosphere was lively and friendly, very helpful staff and great service. I will 100% be coming back very soon!

I went on Sept 2nd. Walked in, sat at the bar. No reservation was needed. Had a mixture of the food options, hot and cold, both small plates and a couple of mains. It was a lovely meal, bold flavours and great contrasting textures. The staff had good recommendations and were accommodating. As a non-drinker I really rated the Chinotto. The lads I was with necked a few pints of the Italian lager [pictured] which was suggested by the staff; they rated it hard. TBH one of them was due home but he decided to leave the car, get the train and have another couple; so it must have been decent lager.
