Went with work group today, easy access & clean toilet. Amazing food and ambiance. Great service with smiles & positive body language, nothing was too much for them, ask for hot water & lemon drink before my meal. Pizza carne was delicious and great potion. My mates said their steaks & pasta with prawns were also very good. Highly recommend this restaurant & a credit to Cardiff.

La Pentola is a restaurant very local to us and we went for an impromptu visit on a Saturday night and were blown away by how great the food was here! Each dish is so original and superbly tasty! This is one of the only fresh pasta restaurants in Cardiff and the pasta was delicious! We will be back very soon and would highly recommend this small but wonderful restaurant!

Went here twice, need to book a few days prior. Cosy environment and serves high quality food. £20 for two courses from Tue to Thurs night, a really greay price indeed. The sardine, bouillabaisse, steak and scallop are my favourites.

OMG what an amazing and memorable meal. I decided to take my wife here for her birthday as she had wanted to go but was apprehensive as to whether they could accommodate her wheat intolerance. The restaurant staff were brilliant in making it a special night. The food was incredible and the wine selection brilliant. Yes I spent more than I should but it was a special night and worth it in one of the best places in Cardiff.

Absolutely fabulous place to eat. Waitresses were friendly, helpful and efficient but not intrusive. Food was sublime - the cream of mushroom soup with thyme and garlic was probably the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The ox cheek bourgignon was tender and the sauce was very rich and flavourful. Extremely good value at £20 for 2 courses including a glass of house wine. Only problem was it all tasted so good that I ate everything and had no room for pudding or coffee!!!

Great food although the menu wasn't extensive. I would have preferred a greater choice. I like mine steak rare to medium and it was cooked as requested but was heavily salted, which spoilt it a bit. I still ate the steak because it was tasty just a bit too salty. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food and no complaints from children either. No children's menu as such they will adapt their menu to serve children Staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend and will be going back myself in the not to distant future.

Went on a Sunday morning for breakfast, quite quite, relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, good service. Food was delicious, great quality food. I had the small Welsh breakfast and my partner had the normal/large Welsh breakfast; wish I went for the large one too!

Without a doubt this is the best French restaurant in Cardiff. Partly to impress my girlfriend who loves fish I had gambas and she had scallops and black pudding, both were absolutely fabulous. Our waiter, whose name Ihave forgotten recommended some excellent Sancerre which was a great choice to go with our meal. This place gets busy so best to reserve.

Fabulous Welsh brekkie. Just what was needed after the previous evenings over indulgences.....The waitress was friendly & efficient. Visited on a Thursday night having spotted their Thursday night two steaks and bottle of house wine offer for £34.95. Amazingly, despite every intention, this was our first visit since the Pot opened their new restaurant as it's a tad further from home than the original restaurant that has since been re-branded as Artie's Kitchen. Firstly, the restaurant was pleasantly busy (8:00pm on a Thursday) and it has a comfy shabby chic feel - while not being so shabby chic as their original venue. Our two medium rare ribeyes were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a serious pepper sauce and home made chips. I'm always pleased by home made chips (how can a serious restaurant serve frozen chips?) but these weren't the best to be honest. They had the feel of oven baked chips more than deep fried but still passable. The bottle of house red was very basic but drinkable. So in summary, for £35+tip for two lovely rib-eyes and a bottle this was a very acceptable dinner and I look forward to our next visit when we give the menu a bit more of a try out.

This a great, quirky place for breakfast and lunch. Don't let the small size fool you, The Pot can for plenty of people, has good amount of staff and has fantastic food. I like the decor, very modern rustic, and the waiting staff were friendly and professional. I would recommend as a classier way to have breakfast or lunch in the area.

Me and my partner decided (last minute) for a roast on a Sunday knowing it would be a struggle finding anywhere local that would have any space. Despite our late entry we were welcomed and said they were closing soon but still had space for a seat. We didn't want to put them out and hold them late on a Sunday but they merely said they had other customers in and it really wasn't an issue. I'm not going to bore you with the nitty gritty details but seriously, one of the best roasts I have had out to date. Everywhere I seem to go disapoints, service is awful or the food isn't up to standard. But this is Artisan. Absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed the meal here. Chicken was cooked to absolute perfection, Jus (gravy) was absolutely stellar, could taste every ingredient they put into this. The chef(s) here really know how to make a good plate, and extremely presentable too. Snobby? No, everybody needs a little luxury in their lives sometimes! Massive thank you to all the team, seriously love this place and so will you!

I took my daughter & her partner for Sunday lunch. The meal was good, v tasty & good portions. Pleasant & helpful staff too. Just two disappointments. I was looking forward to nice roast potatoes, but they were liitle cubes like parmentier or patatas bravas. Not the same! Also, it was strange to see Linda MacCartney veggie sausage as a vegetarian choice. In a bistro with home made food you wouldn't expect them to buy in a meal from a supermarket.

We loved this place. The food was stonkingly delicious, the main course was mahoosive, I had the seared tuna.. Had gluten free, they totally nailed my need for no cross contamination And I had bread with my baked camembert. The vino was lovely, my fella had a soft malbec.. I would definately recommend especially if you're coeliac. A big shout out to Laura for sorting our booking etc out, you're a star babe.. The chefs got it all covered, and work their socks off.. Okay, how haven't I heard of this place before! Really friendly staff ,The food I had was piping hot, and cooked pretty much bang on! And the coffee was was really good. If you're looking to grab breakfast out with a family or friend.. then look no further than this place... puts Bill's to shame!!! Keep it up! :)

Hi, I think a little bit of balance is due here having gone to this restaurant based on the 81 excellent reviews. The staff are pleasant and the food is OK. But home cooking in the sense of a competently cooked Dilia Smith recipe, this is not gastro pub quality food. I ordered the beef bourginion and tried the game pie. The meat was fine but the sauce was OK but rather blank. With the benefit of fresh herbs and spices and the know how of a professional chef cooking a recipe they have chosen, the food should be better than you could cook yourself and this simply isn't.
