I’d happily recommend Valentino’s Rist. Sardegna to anybody in Cardiff looking for a top shelf, authentic Italian restaurant that doesn’t break the bank. The venue is cosy, the staff are welcoming and delightful, the wine is bellissimo, and the food is sublime. I’ve been twice now and am looking forward to going again and again. Perfect for individuals, couples, and groups.

Great to be back at this little gem. Service and food as good as ever. This place has character very expensive fine dining it isn't. Good food perfectly cooked at reasonable prices it is. Much more personable than the big names. So pleased they are still operating.

6 of us ate here yesterday, we were seated & left 15 minutes before we were asked if we would like drinks, EVENTUALLY a member of staff pulled himself away from laying empty tables in the restaurant & got us some drinks, we ordered our food, 50 minutes later we were still waiting for our meals, when we asked where our meals were & mentioned that we had already been waiting 50 minutes they said it would be 5 minutes more. The food came & there was no problem with the meals, very tasty but over priced. The staff could be a bit more friendlier & attentive to their customers & if meals take that long to prepare then at least provide some complimentary nibbles & advertise the fact that there is a long wait for food preparation as the restaurant was not overly busy, shame staff let the restaurant down.

Fancy videos on the wall showing gorgeous home made food. The reality was not the same. The vegetable soup was ok. The pizzas disappointing. One pizza with anchovies and capers had a lot of cheese but far less of the aforementioned. My partner had a vegetable pizza that was short on veg. Attempts to cover up the fact by smothering it in Rocket . Waitresses were a little inattentive and it wasn't really busy .I asked for chili oil that came in a glass skull to be told only take one drop at a time. What pantomime. It wasn't hot at all ! There is an expression in English " all fur coat and no knickers ". Just about sums it up.

Went here for the first time on Valentine’s Day. So glad we did as the valentines menu was amazingly priced and the food was incredible! The tiramisu and glass of Prosecco was the perfect end to the meal. Thanks guys, we will be coming again :)

First time in Cardiff, was only here for one night from London and couldn’t book anywhere to eat. Managed to book a table here and was one of the best Italian meals I’ve had. Ignore any bad reviews you see! Bruschetta was so good and pizza tasted so fresh. Love this place and 100% recommend!

Lunch menu is fantastic and reasonably priced at £14 per head, you can pay a surcharge for any other menu items you may wish for. A wide range of meat and fish dishes. The Sea bass was beautiful and generous in portions. A cosy restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. We will be going back

Amazing experience with incredible attention to detail. Travelled from Hampshire to cardiff and this was the perfect place to finish the day! The Covid social distancing measures were excellent with giving us the opportunity to use the menu online (using a CR code) to reduce the spread. Would definitely go again!

We always visit this restaurant when we are in Cardiff. Lovely food and the staff are so welcoming. All covid regs in place so you feel safe and relaxed.

The restaurant is located only a few minutes from the Jury's Inn hotel just opposite the Capitol shopping Centre and very close to the St Davids shopping centre. The restaurant has a lovely warm, traditional atmosphere with delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. Until 7:30pm there is an excellent Pre-Theatre menu for £13.95 which is what I went for. I started with the mussels in white wine & tomato sauce which was delicious - although I did have several pieces of grit but this is difficult to totally avoid and I was given some excellent bread to mop up the sauce. For my main course I had the Medallions of pork fillet cooked in wine, onions, cream & porcini mushrooms accompanied by veg and potatoes. The pork was delicious and very tender and the sauce was thick and unctious with the porcini mushrooms. The vegetables were rather washed out and tasteless - perhaps some cooked fennel would have been better - but the potatoes went down well. The house red was good - I chose the Chianti - and I was offered water without having to ask. The service was attentive without being overbearing and was very friendly and helpful. I cant wait to return and try further dishes from the menu.
