Rarely leave reviews, but this is the best pizza in the city! Absolutely lovely and cozy atmosphere. Tried similar pizza places in the city centre and nothing compares to this.

Some of the BEST pizza we've had - especially loved the G.O.A.T and the fancy margherita. The bottomless experience was so much fun, and the team are lovely and really accommodating. 10/10 would recommend 😄

You wouldn't regret eating here. All you can eat pizza many flavours to choose from and great staff.

Excellent fresh pizza. Small choice of pizzas. All quality and definitely well made, fresh dough. Fresh ingredients and packed with flavour. Eat in or take away both good. All cooked in a proper pizza oven, not on a conveyor belt. There are specials on the board which change regularly. Selection of sides, Drinks, fresh home made dips.

Really great little pizza restaurant we were staying across the road and had done a lot of walking in the day so wanted somewhere close by. This place was such a great find, really great pizzas great range of veggie options and fantastic soundtrack and decor. Super friendly staff too. We will definetly be back.

Cowabunga hosted us for a hen do and they were absolutely amazing! We had the whole restaurant to ourselves and the service was impeccable. Not to mention the delicious pizzas and endless supply of prosecco. We can’t thank the guys enough - a fantastic night 😍

A pizza gem of Colchester. I booked a table at cowabunga for after our daddy daughter day out at Colchester zoo, and my word I'm glad I did We were greeted by one of the owners (Tom) who was a superb host (and the other staff members are very friendly and welcoming) he was great with my daughter's, even showing them the pizza oven as their pizzas were being cooked. And bless, he even made up a little pot of tomatoe sauce for the girl's when they asked (great little touch) The pizza was phenomenally delicious, full of flavour, fresh.....and surprisingly filling. My eldest gave it a 10/10 and my youngest basically swallowed her first pizza and asked for another. Loved the ambience from the lighting, graffiti wall and great music selection. If you love great pizza, amazing staff and good music.. .then look no further than Cowabunga pizza Will definitely go back when I'm visiting Colchester again.

Ordered takeaway for husband's birthday...at first we were put of by the price compared to other pizza's.Once it arrived it became clear that these pizza's are not like your average every mouthful tastes the same ones. Absolutely delicious and well worth the money.🍕🍕🍕🍕

Came for my friends birthday, and it was delicious. My past experience with Cowabunga pizza was as take out, a which I had thought decidedly average, however the more I thought about it the more I realised this was due to the time taken to get it home and eat it. This pizza is best straight from the oven and in my opinion is ruined somewhat unless you live right round the corner. As I suspected eating in was a fantastic experience. The bottomless pizza was incredible value for money and allowed us to try practically one of everything on the menu shared among us. The staff were very friendly, and the pizza coming from the oven in waves was perfect. I think the only thing I could say anything about would be that the 'Hot Stuff' pizza was a touch too fatty and I think that the there could be maybe a couple of complimentary dipping sauces. The dips themselves are very good (the blue cheese is particularly pungent, which seemed to go down well with the cheese lovers among us) but a touch pricey, however you do get a very decent portion per dip. Overall I recommend popping in for a sit down meal of the bottomless pizza or taking out and finding somewhere close to sit and enjoy takeout. Lovely place, will 100% be going back!!

My wife and I dropped in because it was right across the street from our hotel, without much in the way of expectations. Eating in we did the bottomless pizza, where they come around every few minutes with a fresh pizza and give you a slice if you want it. You get to try all their pizzas this way, and they were ALL fantastic, no kidding, all of them. Just killer pizza overall. The best was (unexpectedly to me) the "Clucky You" chicken pizza which was super flavorful. Awesome.

I have heard many good things about Cowabunga and so for our pre valentines dinner I thought let me order some pizza. My husband is a dominos lover and he said this is the best pizza he has tasted!! You guys are his new favorite pizza place. Dough is so soft and fresh an absolute 10/10 from us. Looking forward to come and enjoy some more at the restaurant 💫

Went in for the bottomless pizza on a Wednesday night. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, some of the tastiest pizza I’ve ever had and the staff are super friendly! Will definitely be my go to for pizza in Colchester from now on. Try the GOAT or the Hot stuff pizza! Safe to say I ate so much pizza that I basically had to be rolled out of the restaurant…

Beautiful pizzas! Never had a bad one! This is our Sunday regular take away. Good choices of dips - garlic & herb our fav, however blue cheese needs a lot of improvement (friendly advice) - way too sour/acidic and doesn’t taste like blue cheese. Otherwise still best place to go for a pizza! Just avoid blue cheese dip. Sorry :)

Amazing pizza! We ate here for the first time and everything was spot on. The service was prompt and polite. The pizzas were delicious and the milkshakes are to die for. Cowabunga pizza what can I say but FANTASTIC !!. cowabunga has free parking ,is spotlessly clean and what the two Tom's certainly know there pizza . Had a G O A T loved the taste of the goats cheese the flavours were amazing ,the cowabunga was really tasty to ,can't wait to try the Hot stuff . You could tell all the pizza were cooked fresh . Can't thank these guys enough! Feeding all our evening guests with beautiful pizza, cooking enough so me and hubby had breakfast in the morning too. All our wedding guests loved the 4 types of pizza we chose, its all they are talking about. It was served by friendly people, and they got involved with everyone and didn't miss anyone out! IF I COULD ADD MORE STARS, I WOULD! 👏🍕 Our first experience coming here was around about a month ago when they were running an all you can eat event. Me and my partner were a little anxious at first to come out for dinner as we had a very young baby in tow and our previous and first dinner outing with him was a little chaotic to say the least so feared the theme would continue. The moment we walked through the door we were made to feel extremely welcome. There's such a friendly fun vibe in there that we all(baby included) felt at home instantly. My baby boy has a cow's milk protein allergy and subsequently my partner is on a dairy free diet so pizza at first seemed like it would be a one sided affair with me doing all the eating and her watching on drooling! Fear not they said!!! We cater for everyone and there's vegan options on the menu which catered for my partners needs. They went above and beyond to look after us and I can't sing the praises of the staff highly enough. Now to the pizza..............WOW!!! What a breath of fresh air! Everything is so fresh and perfectly cooked. And the different options of toppings are great. So much choice and I struggled to pick a favourite and that even included the vegan one which I thought I'd dislike. Well done guys for all the hard work. See you again soon. Larry C

If Carlsberg did Pizza they’d be rubbish compared to Cowabunga!! We don’t live on Mersea, but we will drive over from the other side of Colchester just to get one, the only way I can explain how could they are is... when we pick up a takeaway I can eat a whole pizza before I’ve driven of the island and Mersea really isn’t that big 😂 Cowabunga catered an event for us as well for over a 100 people and the only thing I would change is we should have told them it was for 200 people not because there wasn’t enough but our guests just couldn’t get enough 🐷 Go check them out 🍕

We love this pizza shop! The pizza is so fresh (prepared and cooked in front of you.) I love the "Fun guy" pizza as it has a white base instead of a tomato sauce base. The kids have Pepperoni pizza, drink and cookie for £6. It is spotless clean and my kids think the guys are so cool!

Such great pizza! We didn't know what to have so ordered 3 different flavours between the two of us and boxed up the left overs to bring home for a snack later on. People say I give out 5 * to easy but that is probably because I seek out the best food i can relevant to budget and circumstance. Cowabunga is a small place next to west Mersea's only bank. Not far from the seafront. We walked in and I liked the clean look. On the subject of clean it was immaculate. I even wiped a finger on the wall and nothing! We were greeted by a friendly chap who was a better looking version of myself. He talked us through the menu and we went for the lunch special. Pizza and salad for less than £8. We relaxed and enjoyed the music and I had a San pellegrino. Nice to see the pizza being made there and then. When we were eating a family came in and I loved how the kids we sat at the pass watching the dough being stretched enjoying fruit shoots. (Familys are welcome) I went for a margarita and really enjoyed the quality. The side salad was so nice to. Soraya had the G.o.a.t and really enjoyed it as well. I have to recommend this place for how clean friendly and quality it is. I've had good real pizza before but this was next level. Well done lads.
