This is a average establishment with a good bar. The service is ok and can be a bit slow. The food lakes individuality and common sauces are used throughout. The cocktails are the shining star for this place. One of the best mojito cocktail in a long time.

Beginning with the customer service: every waiter and waitress attended to us were very polite, however, some of them may lack some fluency in English as when I asked for small plates, I was given spoons instead. Secondly, the food overall was slightly better than mediocre as my steak was slightly over cooked and my partner’s duck lacked a bit of flavouring, maybe it could’ve done with it being marinated longer beforehand. However, they had good cocktails. I can’t say I’d recommend this place based off one visit, but if you’re in the area, you should pay a visit anyway as they have a great atmosphere and usually quite busy.

We had a really, really great meal here. The menu choice was good, with a wide variety of options- not just the usual pizza/pasta choices. The service was very good, well paced- a comfortable gap between courses without being too long. My only disappointment was how quiet it was- more people need to go in order to keep this top class restaurant going. It's just out of town, but handy for the racecourse and ample parking available. We will definitely be back again.

Really good restaurant. Wonderful service. The lamb shank is absolutely delicious. We also had the vegetarian pizza and the mixed seafood pasta (squid ink). They have a good collection of wines and desserts too.

Food really good although confused why a large percentage of the menu came with chips, Duck in orange sauce with chips 🤔 is a tad strange. That aside the duck was perfectly cooked and practically melted in your mouth. Chicken very tender and moist, beautiful! Service was attentive but food slow to come out, was worth the wait!

We visited this restaurant for the second time. The food was really good but the service was really bad. An hour from order to get food and then we had to ask for the plates to be cleared away and for the dessert menu. The place was not very busy at all. Our waitress seemed totally disinterested. Visited here while staying in Doncaster and I must say the food was amazing. One of the best calzones I ve ever had. To make this an even better experience the staff were exceptionally friendly, especially the lad making the pizzas kept my son very entertained.

Although it wasn't the 1st visit hear for my wife and I, and it was a special occasion for us, we had a wonderful time here. The food was a little more expensive than we would normally go for but wow, it really was fantastic. The atmosphere had a 'holiday' feel to it, everyone smartly dressed and all having a great time, I little too noisy/busy if you were intending to have a quiet romantic evening at a good restaurant, but it was 6.30 on a Saturday night so it added to the holiday/party air to the place. Prices were pretty good, the £5 each cocktails were going down a bit too easily, so that bumped the bill up some..... well.....abit. So, without the drinks, it came to £50 2xstarter, 2xmain and 1xside. Really nice, would recommend this place for adult parties and or gatherings. I booked our evening on there website, really easy, confirmation came an hour later as they weren't open at time of booking.

Think the place has changed owner ship we went t in January was lovely had same again and every one has said food was different I had calzone more dough than usual and not as much filling would not have this again and garlic bread was rock hard all was very spicy and had chillis in everything

Went again tuesday night. We've eaten there so many times and the food has always been superb. The staff are excellent and atmosphere great. All in all a great place to dine. Thanks again to the staff and chef for a great night.

Attended tonight 25/6/21 got there at 6.15. Staff very good showed us to our table and we ordered drinks, starters and main. Drinks came so we waited for our starter and waited. At 7.15 our main meal was brought to the table when informed our starters hadn’t been served they took them away. Approx 10mins later the starter arrived which I must say was very nice. Around 5 - 10 mins after taking the plates away our mains arrived!! The meal itself was lovely although it was warm and we knew it was the original one brought out. An apology was given but it’s a shame as the meal itself was lovely. We will be trying the place again as the food was superb I only hope they get it right next time

This is a very nice restaurant, the first timeni have been, the food was very good, I had a steak and it was cooked just how I asked, the staff were very friendly, it was alittle on the cool side, and the corridor to the toilet was cold, but I'm only saying this as an observation, the toilets were also clean and there was Covid hand gel on entry to use.all in all a very good experience and we would go again as a family. 👍

There was 17 of us and the service was great. We had choices of three menus and nothing was too much trouble. Few of our ladies asked for minor changes to their meal and everyone got exactly what they had asked for. We spent 3 hours there and at no time were we rushed. We have been to many different places over the years with our golfing ladies for lunch , and this time it was, definitely we will be back. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon.

We went this evening to celebrate our friends wedding anniversary. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The customer service was excellent. The only criticism is that the lighting made it quite difficult to read the menu and we were a little disappointed that the chips were frozen and not home made but overall a very enjoyable experience.

Had a very enjoyable meal and evening out here. The building is very nicely decorated and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food we all had we enjoyed very much, the portions are VERY generous and tasty to boot, so prepare your stomach for being full. I liked that we were able to have a coffee after the meal in a comfy sofa area. Car parking is also free and of a good size. Will definitely return to try more of the menu.

I had my birthday meal thereon Sunday 12th January which my children booked for me. It was lovely. The staff were brilliant, very polite & to say there were 41 of us the service was really good. I definitely will be going again.

Really enjoyed the food but tables close for social distancing. It looked like they were trying to keep a table between each other but at time were unable to Also I was happy to leave my details so could be contacted if need to be for covid testing. However sheet with peoples details were left out for all to see. I know we are all learning to living in a new norm. However we should not forget about laws in place to support data protection. Especially as the guest prior to me was my children's teacher!

First time visit after being a tad reluctant after hearing a few bad reviews however it exceeded my expectations. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you and all really friendly. The food was pretty standard. Not the best Italian restaurant I've been to but certainly not the worst. We all tasted each other's mains and two out of the four were a bit bland and something of nothing but the other two where nice. I wouldn't rush back but I certainly wouldn't avoid it either.

Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere. I am a very annoying customer when it comes to restaurants, I have specific food requirements.. The waitress and waiter helped me to make my own meal, they added things to items already on the menu and they also got rid of some items I couldn't have. We first visited Colosseo a year ago and the food was great, our only issue was that the restaurant was really cold. We visited again last night during our visit to Doncaster, but yet again the restaurant was freezing cold. Also, on arrival, we stood next to the desk for at least two minutes while the waiter stared at his phone.... Eventually, another waiter came over to deal with us. The steak was good but the chips really greasy, when I questioned this with the waitress, her reply was "bloody hell, I had some earlier and mine were fine" !! Overall? Not impressed, and we won't be going back, a shame as with little effort on their part, things could be so much better.

Surprising for a restaurant in an ex Pub. The food was excellent, my party had a selection of fillet steak or pasta dishes with a mix of starters too. Price was very reasonable for what we ate. The service was ok, there were clearly staff in training working and the timing of check-backs etc wasn't quite right but when we needed them, they were friendly, nice and helpful. Anyone put off by the negative reviews on trip advisor you can safely say the issues must have been fixed. The decoration is tasteful, tables are far apart with plenty of space for a pushchair / high chair if needed. The only vaguely negative is the owner seemed to be entertaining some friends at the time, although they were well behaved, they weren't really dressed for a restaurant of this standard, and one pretty much had his trainers up on the table. It didn't bother my group, but I could see how this could spoil a nice romantic evening.

Quick service and plenty of staff making sure you had drinks etc. We did feel sandwiched together with other tables, to the point where you couldn't hold a conversation without the other tables being able to hear every word. It was nice, but for £90 for two of us, we've had better and cheaper meals elsewhere.

My kids booked colosseo for my birthday in January ,the staff are lovely but as has been said before the restaurant was cold. I had ribs as a starter and that's what I got on my plate just a small rack of about 5 ribs which would have looked better with a bit of garnish. The venison which I had for my main was very tasty if a little tough.

The waiter was very efficient & attentive, the only thing that let it down was that the room felt cold so the waiter turned the heating up for us but we were still chilly. There was plenty of parking space. When entering through the glass door there are some very comfortable leather sofas, the place looks clean and modern with a high ceiling. We didn't book as it was very early they open at 5.30 pm. We were given plenty of time to choose from the menu. We were very happy with the service, the young staff were very helpful. I enjoyed my spagiti Bolognese but my friend was served the smallest piece of fish on a large pile of something red. The chips my friend said she had before and were delicious turned out to be from the freezer and very ordinary. Our puddings were delicious and beautfuly presented. We enjoyed our evening as they were not busy so we were able to just sit at the table.

Impeccable, flawless flavours in all dishes prepared during our afternoon dining experience. I cannot thank Mass and his team enough!!! They all made our wedding day breakfast perfect! We were given the opportunity to decorate the restaurant how we wanted to before the big day. We were able to give our guests a choice in advance of each course for the wedding meal. Every guest said their meal was fantastic! Mass was organising the guests, meal and drinks all day. Nothing was too much trouble. His staff worked hard all day making sure everything ran smoothly and everyone was happy. My groom and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The restaurant was warm, clean and a perfect setting for our guests to relax and enjoy our day. Thankyou so much to Mass and his team we will be forever grateful!

Got to say, the staff in this restaurant are top dog. Fantastic service and made the whole group feel welcome and comfortable. Food was delicious, too 👌. Cannot fault it. You can see the chefs working hard in the open kitchen (not hidden behind a wall or closed doors). They occasionally show of with a huge flambé causing the restaurant to feel likes it's just had a close encounter with the sun. My friend has a tendency to spend half his income on fine wine, so I sampled the good stuff and it was good stuff🍷. Also had a Peroni, can't not have a pint. All positives here - Superb evening 👍👍

TLDR: Halbut was really amazing and the star of the show would go again just for that, M&B special pizza should be a salad, Calamari good, Antipasti board not with the money - get a lot of meat but needed some bread etc. Went on the 1st of February. There is limited parking at the restaurant but we managed to find a space when someone left. The restaurant is nice and large and was busy, which created a nice atmosphere but perhaps was a little too loud. Starters were Calamari and Antipasti Misto. Calamari was very good would order again, only a light batter but cooked properly. Would order again Antipasti Misto board was various cured meat cheese and olives with salad. Nice overall but lacking some bread and there wasn't enough cheese in proportion to the amount of meat. Wouldn't order again. I feel like the same thing could be made at home with a selection pack from lidl and be no different. Mains we ordered were the M&B Special Pizza and the Halibut fish dish. The pizza was well priced at 9.10. The pizza was nice but a bit too much for me. Next time I would order a pizza with less toppings. Although I enjoyed it, it was all a little too much and perhaps would be better as a salad not a pizza but that's my bad for ordering it The halibut was AMAZING like the best fish dish I have had in a while. The risotto was really taste and not chalky at all and the fish was super tender with a crispy skin. The pea puree brought the entire dish together and it was just wonderful I would go back to just order this. Really amazing dish. Was £16.95 thought so definitely a dearer item than the pizza and pasta but I get the feeling this is what they excel at!

Recently had a meal here; a lasagne of seven layers of pasta no sauce or meat content; very stodgey to eat (maybe a little dried out) I must say all my other friends enjoyed their food so not all dishes are like this. The accoustics in the restaurant on this busy evening were quite like a canteen hall; sounds bouncing back off the tiled walls; it was quite deafening and difficult to hear friends talk or any background music that may have been playing. I suggest to management a solution to put some sound absorbing pannels around on the walls disguised as paintings; not expensive to do at all but works effectively. I felt the place looks lovely, very new, very modern and very clean. It's lovely to have such a wonderful place like this in Doncaster. The staff very polite were all very busy working hard serving customers none stop, serving food and refilling our glasses that we didn't need to go to the bar once all evening they were all on the ball; amazing service. I would visit again to try out other dishes but maybe choose a less busy evening.
