Had a quick working lunch here after a brief day back in nearby office. Great service and top quality food. Pizzas may look a little pricey but a huge and tremendous value. Colleagues pasta looked super tasty. Centro use to offer take away pizza that was a bargin and certain to make any colleagues jealous, but not sure if this is available at the moment. Had lunch yesterday at Caffè Centro in George Street, Edinburgh. 1st day out for lunch post lockdown and the restaurant staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. Strict Covid guidelines were demonstrated and highly recommend a visit to this little gem if you are feeling nervous about going out. The food was absolutely incredible and recommend the minestrone soup, mussels, pizza! We will definitely return, thank you!

I came here quite late for dinner (after 8) and found that it was almost empty - perhaps due to the time - not sure. The portion sizes were great. My starter was very good, but my main course not so much. The chicken Siciliana tasted a bit like plastic. Service was pretty slow, and the only smell coming from the kitchen was industrial floor cleaner, so not a great atmosphere. Friendly staff I guess, and reasonable prices.

Went here recently on a voucher deal and was very pleasantly surprised. The girls who worked there were polish I believe, very friendly and helpful, they could not do enough for us. Everything we ordered was very tasty and served promptly. Great value too.

Great takeaway lunch options midweek. You get a choice of pasta & sauces for £3.50, and it is more than enough to satisfy even the hungriest! Also do takeaway pizza's for the same price. Think the deal runs 12 - 2.30

This place is a welcome "oasis" in busy Edinburgh. We always stop-off here when we visit Edinburgh. The window seats are great to sit in and watch busy George Street. Have a great coffee, a toastie and a glass of wine or a full meal. Always friendly staff, and a relaxing experience.

If you're looking for something on George Street that's a little more informal than the big restaurants, then you can't go wrong with Caffe Centro. They have a wide and varied Italian menu, and an excellent selection of cakes and deserts that are worth going for on their own!

I went here for dinner with the girls on a Groupon voucher for 4 people. It is definitely a café rather than a restaurant and it has a plain slightly worn around the edges décor. I had a calzone, which they kindly made vegetarian for me as there were no veggie calzone on the menu. it was nice. I also tried my friends pizza which was also nice. We had a glass of white wine each which was pleasant. 3 star rating is about as good as I can rate it .Clean and pleasant but not amazing and not the best veggie options or information on ingredients.

Caffe Centro has very tasty food. However, their waiters and waitresses are a tad clumsy and need a little bit more training if they want to satisfy all customers. Go there if that doesn't matter to you, since their food is still very tasty.

I always go the Caffe Centro for lunch. the service is what keeps me going, together with the amazing cakes! Their cannoli is something to die for, the same goes for the carrot cake. The portions are very big and the norcina pizza is one of the favorites. Very handy if you are in town and want coffee or breakfast/brunch that is not your standard costa or starbucks. The bacon roll is HUGE and they have a "breakfast calzone" that will challenge you (bacon, sausage, beens, mushrooms, all in a calzone. mental).

I used to visit here regularly for lunch (coffee and either pasta/panini) when I worked on Hanover Street. You can sit in the restaurant area at the back, the cafe area at the front (with the TV showing Italian channels) or can take away. I usually drop in when I am in the area and recently sat in to have a panini Napoli and doppio espresso. The food is freshly prepared and the menu extensive covering the range of Italian dishes throughout the day. Service is quick and always very welcoming. You could happily have breakfast, lunch and dinner here in a day. I know as I have!

It was so good we booked for our second night and once again it didn't disappoint. I really can't recommend enough and very reasonable for food and drink. They even have a great selection of desserts which is sometimes a disappointment for my better half.
