Delicious food, wonderful staff and a great atmosphere. As a group of eight, we had a great time here. Everyone loved the food including the non-pizza options which were great. 🍕 I particularly loved the ability to order a burrata on top of any pizza which turned out to be an excellent decision!! The restaurant was really clean, full of people (many of whom seemed to be regulars) and had a great vibe to it. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Near the Edinburgh Uni / Museum part of town. Food is good. Portion is good size. Service is good and attentive. The pizza came out beautiful not burnt. Pasta was delicious and full of seafood. The special was seafood of different types. Good and light seasoning bringing out the taste of the food and freshness of the seafood. One or 2 mussels were, in my opinion, just under cooked but it's hard to judge for mussels. Mocktails was refreshing if you are looking for an alcohol free dinner.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. It's relaxed and casual in decor, with refined food and excellent, friendly customer service. I had cod which was melt in the mouth delicious. Our next trip to Edinburgh will definitely include a trip back to Paolozzi.

We had a 4 day break in Edinburgh, first night booked at Paolozzi, so impressed we ate there 2 more times. The food was just amazing, Pizza and past dishes were faultless. Great beer selection, especially the Hells lager. The owner was incredibly welcoming and all of the staff were a credit to the place. Next time we are in edinburgh, this will be our first call.

We had a pasta and a pizza. The taste is moderately well. I would recommend other places in Edinburgh for better quality of food, however if you specifically want Italian food, this restaurant is worth a try.

Fantastic restaurant. Lovely decor, attentive staff and the food was stunning. Both of us are vegetarian and it can sometimes be a struggle at restaurants as there may be only one or two veggie options, often a burger! However, that is not the case at Paolozzi! They had so many things we could have happily ordered. Also the option to make many dishes vegan or gluten free. Would definitely recommend and would visit again next time I am in Edinburgh

The food here is absolutely amazing! We had the pumpkin ravioli and the beef pasta and it was so nice we couldn't stop complimenting it. There tiramissu is probably the best I've had in a restaurant, only topped by my mums. Would definitely recommend.

The foccacia with garlic was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS ***but*** it wasn't actually focaccia! You can see in the photo it was the same as the pizza dough base. Not sure if they'd just run out or that's always what they serve. Mains (pizza and risotto) were tasty, the service was very nice, give the ice cream a miss though.

Had their helles lager, margherita pizza and prosciutto and mushroom pizza. The lager was awesome, the pizza tastes so fresh! The dough was light and fluffy and not dry at all. The ingredients all tastes very fresh, esp the mozzarella! My suggestion would be to add more ingredients and have more toppings on the pizza as the mushroom and prosciutto quantities were meagre… i would be open to paying 1-2 pounds more for more ingredients so each bite could be brimming with meat and cheese.

Without question, this is the best pizza in Edinburgh. The pizzas are Authentic and fresh with an amazing selection of toppings, always delivered piping hot and within a dedicated time slot. This is the best way to have a socially distanced garden party - everyone has their own pizza and beer delivered straight to them. Can’t recommend highly enough.

What a lovely place, we booked at the last minute as we really fancied Friday night pizza! We were greeted by a great gentleman who knew our name without even checking the booking, incredible! He made us feel instantly welcome. The place was full, with couples, groups celebrating occasions, families with children, a real mix. The atmosphere was purposeful and busy, the staff ensured they wasted no time in serving all the customers and checking constantly to ensure everyone was happy. The pizza we had was delicious,service was quick, other food we saw being served was really well presented and there is a range of dishes that would suit everyone. Cocktails were being served and the wine we had was very good. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Edinburgh! Thank you Paolozzzis for a great experience! Xx

Awesome find during our stay in Edinburgh. We were really struggling to find a table and called up Paolozzi. Gino made a table available for us and was just the most hospitable host. I cannot recommend highly enough how much that personal touch improves the overall experience and Gino clearly understood that. However the food was equally as fantastic our calamari and pizzas were some of the nicest we’ve had. Paolozzi is definitely now our list of places you can’t miss in Edinburgh

Good - very, very good. Smiley waiting staff, well priced menu, tasty food. One thing - tomatoes not seasoned on the bruschetta. It's a small thing but worth a mention. Italians / tomatoes / bruschetta.... should be elevated to sublime rather than just effing lovely. Definitely worth a visit.

Something between 3 and 4 stars. 4 stars just because of prices. I was expecting restaurant. This place is more like a cheaper bar (if you are lady, you should rather avoid toilets). Food was average (considering Edinburgh probably above average), service was good, Prosecco lovely. If you are for pizza and beer you are probably at right place. We came because of high rating which didn't make any sense from perspective of dinner place.

Had a family meal here last night. Great menu, good food and friendly staff. Calamari was amazing, pizzas were fantastic. Excellent selection of local beers. Good location just off The Meadows. Well worth a visit.

One star for service! Lovely food though on the day we were there the service was terrible. Had a table of 4 booked for 8pm. The starters arrived reasonably quickly but the mains arrived at 9:45!! A young waiter repeatedly came to the table apologising for the delay and saying the food was on its way - it wasn't. When it came the food was really good and to his credit the owner insisted we didn't need to pay. It wss just one of those days and we certainly will be back.

Amazing Napolitano pizza and great coffee. What more could you want? Oh yes, super friendly service too! If you can get one of the south facing benches outside on a sunny day - that's the dream :-). The walls inside have great quotes from the sculptor Paolozzi too.

Nice restaurant and very friendly staff, however given it's ranked around 11th in Edinburgh out of 1500 restaurants, I was pretty dissapointed with the food. We had the ravioli and the king prawn/mussel linguine. The ravioli were quite tasty and nicely presented but absolutely swimming in fairly flavourless olive oil, and a pretty small portion for a main. The linguine was a very generous portion, but with no real attempt at presentation - just whacked on the plate with a few prawns on the top. Again was tasty, but the tomato based sauce was fairly flavourless and tasted like a basic tomato sauce made with tinned tomatoes at home. The waiter told us they were out of mussels so offered extra prawns which was no issue, but the dish came with only four prawns on the plate, which seems fairly stingy for a £15 king prawn dish! We also had a bruschetta starter and another starter aubergine dish that I remember being fairly good. As other comments have said the bruschetta was topped with completely unseasoned (and fairly flavourless) tomatoes which seemed like a pretty basic lack of attention to detail.

Great pizza and pasta joint in the center of Edinburgh. We ordered their pizza delivery a few times during the pandemic, every time we had our pizza within 20 minutes of ordering and they always tasted great! Finally got the chance to eat in the actual restaurant. Ordered arancini starter to share and ricotta gnocchi for a main. Both were excellent, the arancini were crisp and tasty served with a tomato sugo sauce. Ricotta gnocchi were massive, perfectly cooked and served in a tomato and mozzarella sauce. My partner remarked on scraping the bowl that maybe the staff would think they just brought him an empty plate so he could get another serving haha. Staff were very friendly. Looking forward to going back!

Average. Great start as we walked in without a booking and were promptly seated at the bar. First round of cocktails and a starter lovely. Food came out shortly after - my partner ordered a pizza and it was divine, but unfortunately my Cesar salad was drowning in sauce and the chicken was way overcooked. As it is £9.50 for the salad and extra £4 for the chicken I expected a little more.

This is a long review so buckle up. The restaurant took over a fairly neglected space in a prime location of Edinburgh, across from the Meadows, close to the University, and in the old Medical Quarter. When undergoing the initial restoration a few "ghost signs" were discovered on the outside of the building which are indicative of the origins of the building as part of the medical district. What is particularly lovely is that the restaurant has chosen to honour that piece of history and has not covered up the signs. We were looking forward to the grand opening in March 2020 when CV19 hit. Everything in Edinburgh shut down. We were worried that this restaurant was doomed to failure before it had a chance to even open. But lo and behold, when restrictions lifted they opened their doors. And what wonderful doors they are. Being at *ahem* advanced years we are still quite leery of going out into crowded places. Paolozzi has managed it brilliantly. Quite good signage and barriers between tables make you feel very safe and secure. The staff, which are efficient and professional and yet personable, are all masked. Now. Onto the food. Sublime. One of the best pizzas I've had in Edinburgh, and I've tried a LOT of others. The pasta is cooked to perfection and the sauces are delicate but hearty when required. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. It's a happy, upbeat place. You get that vibe the minute you walk in the door. We are fortunate that Paolozzi is only a five-minute walk from our flat. But it's on a major bus route and easily accessible to anyone coming from elsewhere. They also have a gorgeous bar area that I'm sure will do booming business once this pesky virus has been somewhat controlled. I can see us sitting there for an afternoon drink on the walk home. In conclusion (I bet you thought this moment would never come), Paolozzi is a charmer. A triple threat: good location, great vibe, fantastic food. If I had more opposable thumbs I'd hold them all up. Molto bene. PS DOG FRIENDLY!

Great new addition to Old Town, with beers on tap you won't readily find elsewhere - apparently their full lineup is on the way as they continue the opening process. Simple but tasty sourdough pizza too. Whole venue looks very clean and fresh - could do with a bit more of Paolozzi's life work on the walls, but hey oh, maybe that's to come.

The staff was so nice! Honestly made this place a lot better! In terms of food, the seafood pasta tasted really good (although the balance between muscles and other seafood was a little off). Otherwise, it was pretty average Italian food. Really good service, average food. But average not in a bad way, I would still eat it.

La comida italiana muy buena 100% Italia con algunos platos veganos incluso a las pizzas puedes añadir mozzarella vegana. También tienen cerveza artesanal. Al fondo del local puedes ver la cocina con el horno en el que hacen tus pizzas. Nosotros pedimos lasaña vegana, nos sorprendió y los Linguine fruti di madre, delicioso!! El tiramisú delicioso, me quedé con ganas de pedirme otro más. El único detalle que no me gustó fue que cobrarán el servicio un 10% del total. Aconsejable 100%
