I tried the chicken and mushroom pizza. This was 10.4£ but didn’t get the 20% discount as that’s was online. Overall 3/5 for taste and value. The whole pizza is good for one person only. 10 inch approx, thin crust . Place has a good ambience.

I’m so happy to visit the restaurant again after lockdown! Very delicious pasta with authentic tiramisu! The price is reasonable, and the staff is very friendly as usual! I had a great time there with my boyfriend and I would like to go again:)

The waitress was really sweet. I recommend the express lunch menu, where you can get their authentic Italian food at a great price. I had the ham and mushroom risotto, which was pretty good. There’s a variety of pizzas, pastas, etc. to try. They also have a good minestrone soup.

Amazing food and friendly staff. Not only am I vegetation but very health conscious of what I eat. They made for me the best risotto I have ever had and off menu; no cream or oil and still full of flavour. I also had the sorbet which again was delicious. AND they had a choice of alcohol free beer.

I have visited Sambuca on several occasions and have always been impressed by the food and service. The menu is unpretentious and there are no frills just good basic Italian cuisine. They are definitely worth more than one visit. My last visit was superb. Why they are not busier is beyond me. FORZA SAMBUCA!!

Went for early dinner on a Saturday night as we were at a swimming event at the local pool. Great atmosphere and very busy, even early evening, but that didn't impact the service which was excellent throughout. Waiter gave good guidance on the extensive menu and the food (we had a meat dish and a lasagne) was cooked to perfection. Perfect for hungry swimmers and will definitely go again

We went for a good Italian meal and, were not disappointed. The menu is very versatile; I am into Italian graze but there are dishes on it even I have yet to discover. The table wines, in carafe is perfectly if not more than adequate. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Our waitron was of good cheerful character not to mention uplifting. Parking is freely available from 17.30, just outside, which is a bonus in Edinburgh. We will return if we're back in this neck of the woods. Fab!

What a gem to find this small piece of Italy right in Edinburgh. The food was fantastic. We had a variety of dishes including steak, chicken, pasta, pasta fagioli, minestrone. All were excellent. The waiter was outstanding. The restrooms were clean. You could tell that they took pride in this place. The price was really reasonable too. I would not hesitate to go back again and again.

I have eaten in Sambucca many times over the last few years , each time the food and service is excellent . I took a visitor here recently and we enjoyed two of the best fillet steaks ever- he was impressed . I eat out a lot in Edinburgh , this restaurant is the best Scottish Italian you will find. The house wines are very enjoyable and great value .

Booked in at last minute and accommodated well. Meal was delicious but when it came to paying, I wanted to pay this at the till as I wanted no fuss at the table from my family. The Head of restaurant/owner was very rude to waitress then to me insisting I go back to my table. Granted it was a busy night but no excuse for treating a paying customer this way. Felt like I was a naughty child when all I wanted to do is pay the bill. I am a woman of a certain age and did not appreciate being treated like this. I did write to them but 1 week on I have had no apology. 2 WEEKS ON AND STILL NO RESPONSE TO MY LETTER. HOW RUDE.

Been my regular local restaurant for years. The wide selection of simple Italian classics are always fantastic. The pizzas, gnocchi and calamari in particular are personal favourites. The service from the Italian staff is always great.
