My wife and I had a buy a gift voucher bought and we used it at Zucca in Edinburgh. The food was superb. Bruschetta, scallops, chicken salad and fish stew. Followed by chocolate box dessert. Amazing. Well worth a visit just for the customer service. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Perfect. Well worth a visit

The restaurant is located right next to the theater 🎭 We love the decor and sat upstairs served by friendly Tony. The food is freshly prepared and delicious! Very authentic Italian food and we did enjoyed a lovely lunch. Simple menu and great food with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend this restaurant and would visit again.

Zucca was a great experience. The decor is very cool with lots of old theatre posters. It is next to the usher Hall and lyceum theatre and perfect for a pre/post theatre meal. The pizza was excellent. Authentic Italian as can be.

The food was really lovely. We had the home made bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for starters. The bread was really homemade, soft and delicious. We had the cabonara and diavalo pizza for mains and it didn't disappoint. I didn't want cheese on my pizza and I totally enjoyed it. We also had a side of chips. The mains were delicious. For pudding, we had sticky toffee pudding and a selection of ice creams. Overall, we had a wonderful meal here. We had a great host and he was nice and friendly. Great customer service. We met wonderful people in the restaurant. We came in as strangers and left as friends. I highly recommend

What a fantastic meal. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the lunch menu varied . The staff were so friendly ,polite and efficient, making a fuss of our granddaughter and even creating chocolate sauce to go with her ice cream!. I would certainly recommend.

We were gifted a voucher for Zucca. Nice waiter, friendly and helpful. Pasta and pizza good. Gin martini very good. Not so impressed with the starters though. The crusty bread served with a tiny drop of oil and balsamic was doughy and not crusty. The desserts were very nice though.

First impressions were good. The restaurant was clean, well laid out and adequately lit. We were greeted, our booking confirmed and led to a small table for two. The menu wasn't as extensive as I thought but the food was varied and enticing with pasta, risotto, meat/fish or pizza options. I had Carbonara and my partner a pizza of which both were very nicely cooked and delicious. Dessert was for me cheese and biscuits and ice creams for my lady and again both delicious 😋. The waiter was polite, helpful and efficiently attending to the customers. Would I go here again? Yes, it was a relaxed and enjoyable experience so thank you Zucca.

excellent food ... the flaw, at least as far as my experience is concerned, is in the service ... Only one glass of water at the table for the whole meal ... instead of providing a bottle at the table, black pepper and many other small precautions failed. to then end up in the account which highlighted the oversight of not having calculated the booking vaucers ... luckily we checked otherwise we paid more!

The cost of the food was surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the food. The young waiter was very friendly and professional. Would definitely go there again!

The best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh! My Mrs and I are both vegans and we had the best Italian vegan meal at Zucca. As soon as we walked in the door, we were made to feel very welcome. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! If you are Vegan and love Italian food, you need to eat here. The Roasted Zucchini Risotto ist best Risotto I have ever had and the rice pudding is second to none. I highly recommend Zucca if you are an Italian food loving vegan.

Lovely setting. Food was nice. However we found the service a bit slow. Arrived at 5.50 and starter was not served until 40 mins after arriving, having to ask it can be checked if actually ready. Main meal served with 20 mins to spare before our show started. Again needing to ask if the food was ready. Not the relaxed atmosphere I had hoped for.

This is an intimate cosy place to enjoy some Italian specific dishes served by very friendly staff. I am only rating them for 3 stars out of 5 because they seemed to struggle providing some gluten free or vegan choices for food where most restaurants now have a specific menu with allergens etc. They also get another star deducted from my rating because the pizza I received after my order was the wrong one and had to wait until they made another one. I asked for a simple pizza, no cheese, and peppers instead of pepperoni salami to make it vegan. I got a pepperoni pizza without the cheese.

We went to have lunch here and the restaurant is quite small yet cozy. The service seemed a bit arrogant at first but turned out to be a really good and forthcoming service. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the food (I ordered a pizza). It didn't have much taste, the small amount of cheese almost tasteless. Prices were ok.

The latte was ok, the service was just ok, the waiter gave us dirty paper napkins but he was polite enough and replaced them for ones that had not been previously used by other guests :) and dessert (banana cheesecake with a difference) was very nice, but quite pricey.

Small italian restaurant attached to the Usher Hall. Food was OK, service could be improved, but can't complain about the price. Our meal was also served in a timely manner so is handy for people attending the theatre next door. Tables can be a bit small for two though.

Zucca wine dinner for the umpteenth time and if you are lucky enough to be able to book, look forward to generous portions, tasty courses and a chance to try different wines. They punch outside their league with these events and deserve their loyal following, but still manage to serve up a good lunch and pre theatre menu that keeps most of us coming back in between times. Basically, a restaurant that earns loyalty, doesn't take you for granted and rarely disappoints.

Went to Zucca for a midweek dinner expecting good things, and was definitely impressed. Lovely little spot between Usher Hall and the Lyceum Theatre, we were sat at a table on a balcony overlooking the bar which was very pleasant. The bread we were given was a little meagre but considering we ordered three courses it didn't matter a great deal. My chicken terrine starter was excellent, and my girlfriend's lasagne main was absolutely delicious - she said it was one of the best she's had, high praise indeed! I had the mushroom linguine as my main course and it was decent, but lacked a little seasoning. As usual I opted not to have pepper or parmesan from the waiter, which was probably an error in hindsight, but I don't like putting things onto food before I've tried it! We arrived at 7:30 for our table and the place was empty. Chatted to the waiter and he said they'd been crazy with pre-theatre bookings until about half an hour before we arrived - I have to say, you'd have never known it. The place was spotless, tables set and ready to go. Very impressed with that. The waiting staff were friendly and chatty, knowledgeable about the wines too. All in all, it was a cosy little meal out. I wouldn't say Zucca blew me away but it was a good experience - I'd put it into my upper-middle bracket for restaurants in the city centre which, considering the reasonable cost of visiting, makes it a great option for a night out, especially if you're planning on taking in a show afterwards! Protip: The pre-theatre deals are great, but if you're looking for a walk-in, do what we did and go after 19:30. From what the staff were saying, they get incredibly busy between 17:30 - 19:00 which might make it tough to get a table without a reservation.
