I went to this restaurant to celebrate Halloween with their special menu. I ordered one regular dinner and one vegetarian - both were absolutely amazing. The portions were perfect for the number of courses. I opted to included the pairing wines and they couldn’t have been better. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert. It was one of the best I’ve had in years. The staff were also very helpful and attentive. They kept an eye on the table but provided us our space - they checked in on us when it was obvious we had finished our course. The owner came through to personally check on all of the tables - something I truly appreciate and wish restaurants did more of. They also included a special Halloween trick-or-treat gift for visiting. The experience was one of the best I’ve had in Glasgow. It was worth the price we paid - I highly recommend giving this place a try.

For my birthday, I went to this restaurant Wednesday, but I have been fews times previously and it has always been great! The restaurant is a nice, cozy place and everything is clean and tidy. The atmosphere with Italian music in background made it special. The staff are welcoming and are always smiling and give great suggestions about the wine. The service was also attentive and all the dishes were delicious. As starter, i opted for a pizza with the charcoal dough, potato scamorza and sausages: it was soft and light, the topping were flavourful. For the Main, i took pasta with artichokes (suggested by the manager) and the lamb. Pasta was properly cooked but chapeau for the lamb, as it was very tender and delicious! For dessert, I had the panna cotta and tiramisù 2.0, the latter had a unique spherical shape. I would recommend this restaurants particularly for a special occasion!

First time trying this newly opened Italian and will definitely be returning. Food and service was first class and they really made our anniversary dinner extra special. Would recommend without hesitation. The fish platter and the desserts were amazing! Thanks to all staff and we'll see you again soon. 👍

We were given a voucher for the 5 course tasting menu as a gift and had never been here before. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The tasting menu is a fabulous way to try a selection of dishes that you perhaps wouldn't otherwise choose and even though the dishes are smaller we came away feeling well fed but not uncomfortably stuffed. The staff were really lovely and attentive but not in an over bearing way. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning to try more of the dishes.

Attended prior to a gig at the hydro which is a short walk away. Ordered the Arancini starter (Beef & Pork, Peas, Pecorino, Fondue, Saffron,Risotto,San Marzano Gel) was well presented and full of flavour, portion size was perfect. We were seated up the stairs on a small mezzanine which seated around 10-12 people i felt it would be better suited for 6-8 people as the space was pretty tight. We have attended previously and sat downstairs would recommend sitting downstairs if an option was given, unless full area was booked upstairs as a larger group. Staff were pleasant

Went to Joia last night for the first, but definitely not the last time. Food is up there as the best Italian we've ever had. Staff were really helpful and knowledgeable about both the food and drinks. My husband had a craft Italian lager and enjoyed it so much he ended up with a "carry out"! Looking forward to our next visit 😊

We use Joia regularly now. The food is absolutely amazing. The team are very proud of their flavours and imaginative menu....Good specials too. The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are very customer centric. Great atmosphere with a good buzz about the place. We always feel special when we dine here. My wife and I were staying in a nearby hotel to attend a concert at The Hydro and chanced upon Joia. Despite being very busy the staff managed to find us a table on the condition that we wouldn't be there all night as the table was booked. The staff were both extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Glasgow.

This is a new italian restaurant in the Finnieston area. I would highly recommend, the food was really amazing and the staff are great too! It's on the slightly expensive side but definitely worth it. They do more unique dishes and flavours than you'd find in a standard Italian. My partner is Italian so I have had my fair share of Italian food both in Italy and in Scotland and I need to say that being in joia honestly felt like visiting Italy which was great. The restaurant would sit well in a northern Italian town. All of our courses were beautifully presented and tasted just as good. If you like Italian food then definitely give this place a try, I don't think you will be disappointed!

Best italian restaurant!!! We've been for our anniversary day and they've been so nice to serve two glasses of prosecco and an "happy anniversary" dessert plate!!! This is our second experience in Joia and we can say that for sure this is the best italian restaurant in Glasgow. The first italian restaurant with PROPER ITALIAN TRADITIONAL food. Highly recomended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We ate here on Wednesday night and had such a good meal we booked again for Thursday. If they could fit us in we would go again on Friday as there are so many dishes on the menu we would like to try. Fabulous food, a lovely wine list and just the best service. We will be back again very soon.

Visited this restaurant soon after it opened June 2021. First of all, nice to see a restaurant back in this space ( next to Tesco Express, Finnieston on Argyle Street). Previously the restaurant here was Pelligrini and before that Panevino. These were good restaurants and I was sad to see them go. This restaurant doesn't do much to cheer me up. This is, again, a modern Italian eaterie. They have basically retained all the furniture and setting of the previous restaurant. In my estimation the decor and ambience is too 'cafè'ish'. The room is too bright and when we were in there was a decent amount of patrons and it was noisey. If you are looking for a romantic setting for two, this isn't it. Furthermore, if you are Vegan or Vegetarian there is slim pickings here for you. Something that would help is to identify the vegan/veggie dishes on the menu, making them easier to spot. Would have saved me some time googling Italian foody words. There are some dishes for non meat eaters, but the menu pays scant regard to that preference. Fish eaters and carnivores are well catered for. I would have to say the food was adequate. The bread was hard and tough and possibly not being kept air-tight. The mozzarella starter was served like a lollipop, complete with stick... just silly. The pasta dishes for some reason were served in a copper pan with a handle. Why? I don't get this obsession. Just serve food in restaurants on clean, white crockery. All in all, very average for me. ***REVISIT*** I have returned to this restaurant April 2022. I have to confess some of my initial criticisms have been addressed. The Veggie/Vegan options are highlighted on the menu. The mozzarella is not now served like a lollipop ( and was excellent) and both our dishes came served on crockery. It was an extremely quiet evening, so no rowdiness but room still a tad bright for me. They should turn the lighting down a bit as the evening progresses. However, a much better experience and deffo worth a visit. Great pre-Hydro haunt. Happy to put the record straight(er).....

Just made my day - best service and pasta in Glasgow! My friends and I went into Joia by chance after leaving a place with the worst service in the world. The host was so warm and friendly, we felt immediately much better and ordered some simply fantastic food! We couldn't stay but we're definitely going there again. Spectacular would be an understatement! Food is incredible!! Staff were super friendly and attentive.. ordered a fondue desert for 2 and although they told us it was 12min wait and when it was slightly over this they brought us over a free lemonchelli to apologise, we hadn't even realised as it is such an easy place to relax with good music.

Really good Italian food

Service is fantastic. Very helpful and attentive service. Food is ok. Squid ink pizza is good on the eye and that is where the excitement ends. Toppings and tomato base is average. For the price being on the high end due to location alone. I would expect better portions or better flavours that are a little bit too bland for my palat. Seating downstairs is nice but upstairs is very claustrophobic like you are squeezing in a box next to toilets and other diners
