Deserves every award it's won! Staff and cuisine were excellent. Atmosphere full of old world charm. Great value for the creative, delicious starters and main courses. Excellent variety of wines at reasonable prices. Would go often if I lived in Glasgow!!

Food was very good. The menu was a little unimaginative and safe, which is par for the course now really and probably just a response to the market. It's a really good Italian, and knows it. However they're charging top price, and good should be great. Service was great, food was above average but daft things (the garlic bread was extremely average) and the basic flavours (good, but I've had better, especially with the starters) could all just have a touch more love. A little better and I'd never look for another Italian in the area again. As it is, it's still amongst the best in Glasgow!

Booked dinner at the Piccolo Mondo on a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant was busy enough, which in most circumstances is a good sign ! We received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The staff were pleasant enough although the drinks waiter could do with a personality implant, as a bit of interaction would have made all the difference! We placed our food order, which was palatable enough, although the portion sizes did not represent good value for money ! I don’t consider myself to have a big appetite, however I could have put all my main course between two slice of bread and made a small sandwich. I was so glad we had ordered starters and a side portion of garlic bread even with a price tag of £4.50 but the £2.95 charged for one CAN of Coke has lodged in my throat! Moral to this review is: Calculate the prices levied for any extras including soft drinks and add this to the prices shown for lunch / dinner to avoid a sharp intake of breath.

We booked here on Saturday for 15 family members to have a meal to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. From the booking to the food and service we could not have hoped for better. Excellent food and service! Price was very reasonable considering quality of food and service. Well done Piccolo Mondo!

It's a lovely place with authentic Italian cuisine. The staff are accommodating enough to explain the ingredients, which helped me decide what to pick. There's also a bicycle park right across the street for cyclists like me.

Had a lovely and very reasonable priced meal from here recently. We both ordered from the pre-theatre menu and both had extra drinks (including a really nice amaro I've never tried and the total bill was less than £50. Would definitely visit again the next time I'm in Glasgow

The restaurant had a nice traditional feeling and was busy which is always a good sign. The table and chairs however were not compatible therefore we could not pull our chairs in properly. We opted for the soup ( lentil) and bruschetta. The soup was incredibly salty and the bruschetta dry. We asked for the chicken parmigiana and the veal for our mains. Again the food was very salty resulting in us not enjoying it as much as we had hoped. The service was fine. The bill was reasonable as we did not have alcohol. I probably wouldn't go back due to the standard of the food.

I wish I could give Piccolo Mondo's Glasgow venue 5 stars because the food is great and the ambience is wonderfully homely. However, unlike the Renfrew restaurant, the staff here were quite cold and unfriendly which ruined the entire experience. We also noticed that the family sitting next to us were being treated better and even got some banter out of the same male waiter who couldn't even bring himself to speak to us or ask us if we were enjoying our meal. Quite snobby and pretentious, we'll stick to the Renfrew restaurant in the future. But still, four stars for the food alone.

I recently moved to the area and decided to try this restaurant for lunch. I have to admit I was treated like a queen. The staff were very smart, professional and friendly. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. Even though I was dining alone I was not rushed between courses which sadly happens elsewhere. My lunch was a truly enjoyable experience. I would recommend to anyone wishing to sample Italian food or British options which I chose. I will definitely return. Excellent value for money.

Great cosy Italian restaurant, set 2 course lunch menu for £15 last orders taken at 2.15pm ordered a pasta soup and a lamb dish, which was some of the tastiest lamb I've ever eaten, highly recommended.

Managed to grab a table for 1 on a busy night. Staff had a full house to attend to but I was not ignored at all. Place is setup upscale but the crowds came in with casual wear. The House Rigatoni Pasta was absolutely phenomenal. Spicy and filling with a superb sauce, it was the best pasta I've ever had and well worth the price (£14.50). If you like Italian then try this place out!

The restaurant is conveniently located not far from Glasgow Central station and has won numerous awards. On entry, I was greeted by friendly Italian staff who seated me promptly. The set menu is good value overall. I found though that often when I had not finished my meal the staff would come over and offer to clear the table so I felt like they were rushing in terms of time. Food quality was excellent and had an authentic taste to the dishes. Soft drinks on the pricey side though. Overall, I would visit again and recommend.

Quite possibly one of the best Italian restaurants in Scotland. The service is impeccable and the food is serene. Proper old school silver service which is an experience itself. Food reminds me of visits to Rome, it simply is brilliant. Don't get me started on the value. I looked at the menu and had to ask if the prices were right as their 1990's prices! Forget your Prezzo's and Ask Italian heat up micro meals, get yourself down to here!

Again, came across this restaurant when on the way to the Ferry for the Wishbone Ash gig...we thought it was a bar till we got in, but the staff said it was fine to have a seat and a pint, so had a leather armchair and a pint of Amstel. This is a gem of an Italian restaurant. Look out for the various meal deals. You will not be disappointed. Just visited for our wedding anniversary. My wife wanted beef stroganoff but it is no longer on the menu. However, they were happy to oblige and made it for her wife fillet steak. Amazing service.

We were at you restaurant sat 23rd october 8 of us for my daughter in laws 40th birthday for the celebration meal .I know we have a 2 hour slot before we came but having experienced this lovely food and drinks service very good I felt that we were evicted by your staff on the dot. I have been going to this restaurant on and off for years. I don’t think I have ever had a bad meal or bad service . During my recent visit we had the celebration menu, good value. However I have to say the social distance is poor , the plastic separations between the tables are not wide enough, they do not shield you from the people at next table they only shield the table itself. When you are facing your partner and the next table are doing the same you are not shielded from them. When we were there we had a table of 6 on our left and a table of 8 on our right and two couples either side of us Too many tables / people in too small an area

I would say that as someone who does not drink alcohol and ordered a soft drink, I did not appreciate trying to be somewhat prompted to have a vodka and soft drink instead. Salsicce e fagioli good, although could have been hotter but the decent portion of fresh very hot garlic bread made up for it. Seafood linguine were exquisite and just the right degree of spicyness (if that is a word). No room for dessert but good strong double espresso. No pressure for us to move (we couldn't as we were so full anyway!).very reasonably priced and will be back to try their 3 course dinner with aperitif, wine and liqueur for £30 a head! Definitely booking a taxi that night.

A thoroughly worthwhile dining experience and the celebration menu offers very good value for money. Traditional Italian cuisine and a cosy dining room made for a pleasant visit. Not cutting edge, but consistent and dependable in terms of quality and value. I was revisiting after nearly ten years and enjoyed both visits. A few of the group I was with found a member of the staff somewhat brusque although I can't say that I noticed it: it was probably because we were a little late getting everybody seated. However, that's the restaurant trade for you.
