Really enjoyed the visit here. Convenient to order and pay, as you can order, and add to your order via the app, and when your finished there's no reason to try and getting anyone's attention to pay. You can even tip via the app. The food was good, and prompt. Service was good too

Booked for a last minute tea out and me and my partner havent been here in years. He is gluten and dairy free and they cater great for that, as well as vegan. Was a really nice atmosphere and the food tasted really nice.

A very busy & bustling place. Our service was excellent. Very lovely & down to earth staff who were attentive & incredibly hard working! We both had ham & chicken pizza which were delicious! I can't fault it. The only issue is the noise! 🤣 It is just a large open room that the noise echos around & we had to leave a bit earlier than intended to get some quiet! Thoroughly lovely staff though. Thanks for a super evening !

Lovely relaxed early dinner. Excellent service even as it got busier (waiter needs a pair of roller skates , he was whizzing around trying to keep up with the tables , which he did admirably). Food came timely and not rushed between courses. Gorgeous fresh cooked . We had the new pulled brisket pasta , lovely. With 3 Starters , 2 mains,sides desserts , drinks plus two coffees £87 , Excellent value 👌

Amazing food. Was definitely a great atmosphere and experience. However was a bit disjointed. When asking for the bill, we had assumed they'd come with a card machine but we had to work out that we had to scan the QR code and then pay for it like that, whereas other tables had the bill and paid by the card machine. Can't fault the food but would have been nice to get some instructions on it as it was our first time. Also had to come down the stairs for the toilet as they're only made for one to go up or down, not pass.

Came today for my birthday treat. What’s happened to the menu, so disappointed. The food was ok, very bland and had little taste. Ordered a margherita pizza with extra chillies which was an additional £3 which does not seem reasonable. Total bill £55 for 2 is very expensive to be honest. The service was good, was advised to order from the table because they have hardly any staff now which is sad, really like my chat with the staff. I’d rather go to another Italian in town now the menu has changed to be honest.

So, wife, step daughter and I decided to try Ask. The restaurant itself is nice and clean and spacious. Service started off a bit slow but got going. I will say the pricing is high end but the quality of the food, although looked good, was not that great. In fact, all three of us didn't like what we ordered, apart from my starter. The food lacked flavour and was bland and considering the price, was not good value specially comparing to the other Italian restaurants in the area. Drinks prices were very high. £5.50 for a cider and £18 for a basic bottle of sauvignon blanc. Starters prices were £6.80 on average. Mains at around £15. I had to go to the bar to order a second round as no waitresses csme by. Had to clear the table as well. In honesty, the Italian on the Marina far exceeded Ask. For the three of us was over 100 quid with 2 rounds of drinks. Dissapointed, over-priced and not that good, apart from the looks.

Has a good range of gluten-free pizza, pasta, sides and miscellaneous main dishes. For coeliac or gluten-sensitives with a sweet tooth, this place is almost rare for serving gluten-free desserts! Overall a good range of gluten-free food with gluten-containing food for those in a mixed group of eaters.

I think its fair to say Ask & Zizzi are very similar in menu and pricing, so it's worth comparing the two. The location of this Ask is spot on, overlooking Princes Quay sitting outside it was a very picturesque spot. The choice of drinks was also better than Zizzis with some nice Ales on offer - However everything else was not at the same standard, service was OK but slow, and for some reason some staff members came outside, stood 2 foot away from me and started gossipping?? Decor outside a little tatty and the table was wonky. Good food, but not wow like Zizzis and I didn't long for more when I was done. I'd eat here again but id rather sit in the darkness of St Stephens, above Burger King at Zizzis than in the sunshine at Ask.

Located close to Princes Quay shopping centre.Standard Ask Italian menu... so if you have been in before you know what to expect...if not then check on line (Has pasta,pizza and a good range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks) Friendly staff,we didn't book a table and got a table(maybe due to stormy weather (Feb 2020))....but I would recommend it .This restaurant was as good as any ASK we have been in.

Great Atmosphere.Beautiful location. Can not fault the meal. Ofcourse its italian food. So be ready to pay the usual prwmiun price. But sure you will not regret if you order what you love. The only downside was that it can be a bit noisy in the restaurant hall. But for us it all worked iut fine as ww went in for a birthday and the entire customer ended up cheering our celebrant. And guess what..? She absolutely loved it. I have been here before and I sure will recommend Ask Italia

We arrived at the restaurant as it opened. There seemed to be some confusion over who was meant to be serving us and were asked to wait even though there were no other customers. We waited for over 5 mins and were just about to leave and finally we were shown to an outdoor table. At this point we had two very hungry toddlers with is so we asked for the food to be expedited if at all possible which the friendly staff agreed to. The food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty.

Had my 1st meal out here after lockdown and Ask proved I've been missing out. The food and service was fantastic from start to finish. The lady who seated us was great polite, funny and helpful a nd the waiting staff were great too. The food I had the seabass was just delightful and our whole party said the food was lovely. The kids menu is perfect an they chef made the pizza look like a Teddy bears head. Great time thank to all at Ask. We will be back.

They were slow to seat us, but once seated service was exceptional. We had 2 toddlers close to a nap time so we needed to be quick and they did not disappoint. You can use Tesco clubcard vouchers for food, and get them in the app in 15 minutes once you know what you've spent.

Went there for Valentine's day, was a very nice atmosphere, even though they officially closed at 22:00 staff stayed behind until about 23:30 until everyone was finished with their meal. Very impressed with the fact that they have a vegan menu available. The dough balls were especially nice. Staff were very friendly. Was let down by the fact that the dish that I had the vegetarian pasta was a bit bland (could have used more seasoning) and the mozzarella didn't melt into the dish. Altogether, it was a good experience with nice staff, and okay good, would recommend !!!!

I've never had to wait for a table and the food always seems to come in good time. The prices are pretty low, which is great if you want a nice meal on a budget. Very busy, food served in a cold bowl. We always enjoy Ask, it's consistently good food at a reasonable price. However, last night I was a little disappointed when my pasta dish was served in a cold bowl. I raised this with the waitress, and she did offer to change the bowl, but I felt that this wouldn't really help. I didn't have the time to wait for the food to be prepared again, otherwise I would have asked for this. This is the first time I have been disappointed with Ask. The other 3 members of the group had no problems with their food, which is why I am giving 3 stars rather than 1.

Very busy when we went early on Saturday evening, but we were quickly seated and the service throughout our visit was very attentive and efficient. The food was good too. We went using a voucher which staff weren't too familiar with, but it was quickly sorted and you were not made to feel like you were causing a problem. So in summary would certainly recommend the restaurant and well done to management and staff for the service with a smile.

For the food I would give it 5 stars but for the service 3-4. On arrival there seemed to be no one paying attention to people who had walked in so it took a few minutes for us to be acknowledged even though we'd prebooked. From then onwards service seemed slow. The waiter who brought the food was also quite sullen and whilst it was very busy a smile would of been appreciated. I would return but would go earlier so it wasn't so busy.

(Visited: Jan 2020) I came here with a few friends from home for a catch-up. My drink- the Apple & Blackberry Cooler- was mediocre in terms of both presentation and taste. I got a sausage-based pasta dish (I’m pretty sure it was the Sausage & Truffle Infused Olive Oil) which was just okay to me. It wasn’t served all that hot, either. Service was friendly and fast enough. It should also be noted that we had a couple of dietary requirements that were confidently and readily catered for. As a discount connoisseur, I tried all the avenues- VoucherCloud, VoucherCodes, tastecard, UniDays etc- but, unsurprisingly, none were valid on a weekend in December. I therefore didn’t get the value I usually do (I don’t think I’ve ever paid the full whack at ASK) which cemented this as a decidedly average visit.

The food is lovely, service is quick and prompt. They are very conscious of allergies and dietary needs. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options. Reasonably priced too. Good for a healthy meal out or for a cheat day.

It's not bad but it's quite expensive for what it is. As the cooking area is in the restaurant itself it's very noisy. The food was average at best. We had a 20% discount code (food and drink) and it still cost us over £100 to feed 2 adults and 3 kids. The kids had meatball starter and pizza main and the adults had prawn starter and seafood linguine. We did not have desserts and only 1 bottle of wine. Overall it's was ok but would not have been happy to have paid full price. The last looking after our table was lovely

I thought the staff were really good when our table of 12 arrived for a meal last night. Yes, it's a chain and you pretty much known what you're going to get, but I enjoyed my whitebait and pizza, and the 3 course Christmas deal they were offering is good value. Took a while for things to start appearing at the table, but all in all, we had a good evening. Decor is nice and bright as well.

We had a problem with our meal and bill. Discount was added to the bill on the night and I returned the next day to query the rest of the bill. The manager looked into it and refunded the money owed and also gave us a voucher for a 3 course mean. So because of all this I feel the customer service was great as they rectified everything which had gone wrong. My compliments to the manger sukina a big shout out to her as she was excellent the way she dealt with everything ( Thank you to her personally )

Click and Collect service was superb! Everything was ready for the time that I asked for through the website and when arriving to collect my order it was clean and consious of COVID distancing. Can't wait to be back inside!

Service is always rather slow (once food took over an hour), because the number of staff seem to be far too few to cope. However, the food is always good. Not particularly cheap but there are almost always deals and vouchers available if you look around. Expect high drinks prices. Seating outside is possible and there is a car park, which is a bonus. Occasionally, items haven't been brought (likely due to the understaffing) but there is never a problem having these taken off the bill.

We visited Ask on Monday 10/4/17 for a family meal. Service was attentive, friendly and timely and our waitress (who sadly I didn't get the name of) was on point every single time. Our table was cleared in good time and drinks served exactly when we needed it and in good time. Food arrived in good time and given the large order, you sometimes expect mistakes or something not to arrive when a restaurant is busy - but this wasn't the case. Food as always was beautiful and we didn't have a single complaint. We was given a free bottle of presecco as we was celebrating a variety of events which I thought was a really nice gesture. Overall I don't have a single complaint and neither did the rest of my family - an amazing night, food and spot in service. Highly recommended and we will be visiting again for sure.

I came this evening with my son and his friend who is staying with us over the festive period. First of all we were greeted very warmly, and a table was found straight away for us. After a few minutes our server, Laura came to take our order. I opted for the butterfly prawns, whereas my son and his friend went for dough balls, for main course my son had a pizza, his friend had the belly pork and I had chicken with chips and broccoli. Considering how busy this place was, the meals were served quickly and efficiently, with no errors, and the food was fabulous, with my son's friend asking to compliment the kitchen on his belly pork. In all a really good positive dining experience, with excellent service from the Fabulous Laura. Thankyou for a great dinner, and we shall be back very soon.

Now when my friends mentioned the words "Ask Italian" i had instantly assumed that it was a Mediterranean agony aunt, but after being informed of my silly misunderstanding, I gladly obliged to join them on their trip there. Before arriving, I had so many questions: how was the atmosphere? Was the food real Italian food? Will I always get bread with my meal? Do they have authentic gelato? Do they have an actual Italian chef? Will there be mini sculptures of Italian landmarks? On arrival, we were greeted by a joyful woman who took is straight to our table, no waiting involved whatsoever. I devoured some delicious food in just under half an hour and we left with our bellies full and smiles all round. After I'd 'asked Italian' all my questions were answered(but I'll leave you to find out if they have mini sculptures, haha) definitely would recommend.
