J. C.Acoustics need work, extremely loud, crowded. Some of the food, like pizza, priced fairly but other items bizzaringly expensive for what you get. If you want a quiet, romantic dinner look elsewhere. If you want an office party it might suffice.
n. s.My wife and I visited Santis on Saturday lunch time. We had planned to go as soon as it opened as we had visited Mancia on Newland Avenue several times.
Angelo told us he was moving to Anlaby on our last visit.
We arrived at around 2pm and found the place quite busy.
Ernesto took our drink order and suggested a very nice red from the Puglia region.
We then ordered an Arancino to share, a Bosco pizza and spaghetti Norma.
The Arancino was delightful, spicy nduja sausage, crisp on the outside and gooey in the middle.
Next was Bosco pizza, thin and not heavily loaded, just the right amount of mozzarella with mushroom.
Then the pasta , spaghetti Norma, my wife and I love aubergine so we were really looking forward to this one.
It did not disappoint, aubergine and basil together with pine nuts and parmigiano. It was fantastic and well worth waiting for.
I'm sure I could taste the salty tang of capers in there as well. I'm sure Angelo will correct me if I'm wrong.
A cannoli to finish an excellent meal, along with a great bottle of wine.
Remember, this is not fast food , everything is cooked to order and you can watch Angelo at work in the open kitchen.
Patience is rewarded with culinary excellence.
We were so glad we visited as Angelo has kept the good work up from Mancia.
Well definitely return to try more from the larger menu.
Good to see the family there, my wife was talking to Angelo's auntie as she asked if my wife remembered her from Mancia.

R. W.Went with family the other day. I had the meatballs followed by the steak. Steak was the perfect and the puree was amazing. Only let down was the service seemed a bit unorganised.
