L. O.Went here for a wedding celebration, it was absolutely outstanding!!! The atmosphere was unique and warm, the service was friendly and well timed for our whole party to be eating together, and the food was gorgeous, everything was well presented and cooked wonderfully, the steak was juicy and lean, covered in a lovely mushroom sauce, the roast potatoes reminded me of home, and the tiramisu was made fresh and honestly I've never tasted tiramisu like it, the perfect balance of bitter and sweet flavours, soft and creamy texture. 100% reccomend this restaurant, especially for celebrations !!!

D. S.We ate here on a half term visit to Ipswich. Our expectations were high as we had read many reviews, but even then our expectations were exceeded. We started with a sharing platter of meats and cheeses which was the best we have ever had. We then had Carbonara, Lasagne and the Fillet steak Gorgonzola (one for each of us). They were all amazing, authentic and very generous portions. All served with a warm welcome and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
A. E.The atmosphere at Tavernetta is very good. We arrived early for a pre-booked table, it was a very busy night, they were not ready for us. They missed a chance to get drinks for us whilst we waited at the bar. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, when we asked to order drinks they kept apologising and walked away. The food wasn't that great, the calamari were sent back to the kitchen on the instructions of the waiter!
We enjoyed our evening despite everything. The staff were very apologetic and tried their best to make us happy. We try to support small independent businesses but we might try it again, or we might not 🤷♀️
M. H.Good food, fun atmosphere, and decent service -- recomended. We had dinner with friends on a Saturday evening - highlights were calamari and creamy salmon pasta, plus nice selection of reasonably priced wines. Limited selection of deserts. Overall -- I'll be back.
I. B.I liked the atmosphere and the wine was ok but my squid starter was inedible, I think it was old: it was very chewy (probably too long in the freezer). It was replaced with whitebait which was much better. The portion sizes were very good but the pasta main course was not a pleasant experience either. I shall not be going back.

J. R.Tavernetta serves wonderfully fresh and authentic Italian/Sicilian food. We were met with a big welcome and even on a busy Saturday lunchtime they found us a great table. The menu choices were wide and authentic and we chose from a selection of starter/sharing plates.
The food was freshy prepared and quick to arrive as they were ready. We had some local dishes you wouldn't always get from a standard 'high street' Italian, like like Arancini and Mozzarella en Carozza.
The food was tasty and the portions were huge! We definitely over ordered! Luckily, the staff provided us with some 'doggy bags' to enjoy the leftovers at home.
The wine list looks exciting and we hope to get into it on our next visit.
