Excellent food, lovely setting both for a drink in the bar pre dinner and then the dining area too. Service very good too. Presentation of all food and drink was top notch. Not a cheap place but you really do get what you pay for.

Absolutely love this restaurant. 2nd visit and most definitely won't be our last. Went with another couple and we were celebrating 3 birthdays. The food is absolutely amazing and the attention to detail is top class. They even put a birthday message on 3 desserts for us celebrating, such a lovely touch. Staff are amazing and so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. At the end of our evening the chef came out from the kitchen and had a chat with us, which was lovely of him. 5 stars all the way, can't wait to go back.

Excellent service from staff. Food was pricey, but extremely worth it due to the complexity of the flavours and processes involved in each dish. Not a restaurant for those who are fussy eaters, but if you're a foodie and want to try a broad variety of flavours you won't be disappointed. Can recommend the yuzu, white chocolate and mango dessert with a curry crumb. Very unusual but well balanced and beautifully plated

Struggling to decide on what to give. My partner certainly enjoyed his dishes more than I enjoyed mine. Firstly I think the waiting staff could certainly learn a few more skills. The waitress who seated us was quite cold and impersonal. We also ordered starters and she asked if we were ready to order mains and my partner was but I wasn't so I just ordered started and explained I hadn't decided so could we order later and she said "no you kinda need to order it now". I found this bizarre as they went closing and it wasn't that late. They also didn't come over to check in and ask if everything was OK and if more drinks needed... the empty glasses ought to have been a clear indicator. The maitre d (Luis I think his name was) was far better and just a small remark wishing us felt much better. The fresh breads were delicious. The scallop starter - fish cooked well but sauce really lacked depth of flavour. My main was the cod dish... I didn't enjoy the combination of textures and although fish cooked well, not seasoned well overall and the flavouring didn't do it for me. My partner really liked his mini pasta starter and pork main. The desserts looked incredible but we were too full. Wine ok. Not sure for the experience we had I would go back.

I went for the 7 course taster menu and was pleasantly surprised. Each dish was perfectly balanced in flavour and the presentation also added to the wow factor. The aperitifs, the halibut and squid particularly were memorable, but couldn't find fault with any of the dishes to be honest. Each portion was perfectly sized for the taster menu, which helped to enjoy each dish, rather than feeling too stuffed. The friendly staff also added to the evening, which made it a particularly memorable one. For a taster menu of this size and variation, I feel it was also well priced and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Very friendly and we felt the quality of the food was very good and well presented. We enjoyed watching the chefs master their cooking and the head chef supervising plates before the went out. The four fish combination was brilliant you could taste the difference in each of their flavours as not smothered with one type of sauce which would have masked the taste of the fish. We pushed the boat out and had starters/desserts as it was so nice. It's not about quantity but if you have 3 courses you do feel satisfied. Drinks (esp wine) were on the pricier side but again very complimentary to the meal, ambiance and occasion. If you want quality and visually witness your meal being freshly prepared then this is excellent. If you can afford the quality then this is a must visit Michelin starred restaurant. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Missing some finer VERY minor observations of professional welcoming greetings like you get in very expensive establishments such as pulling the chair out on getting to the table and putting serviettes over your lap when dishes arrive, giving you taster of wine before serving etc. Very minor observations but little touches put together enhance the high end priced experience. Well done Luigi and team we enjoyed the food and experience.

We had dinner for four on a Saturday. The service was really excellent - the "Maitre d'" (with the broadest shoulders I have ever seen!) took the food orders, there was another waitress for the drinks orders, and another to ensure the table was cleared promptly. Perhaps this is what real Italian service feels like, but we felt very much at home. We had a range of meals between us - lamb three-ways, seafood pasta, scallops, ragu - but pictured is the house special of octopus and a seafood medley including an enormous langoustine. I *only* tried the octopus because it was the house special and I am SO glad I did. Totally unusual texture but amazing flavour - would recommend. Quite pricey for a little village in Leicestershite but entirely worth it.

Service needs improving from the staff, for a high end restaurant I’d expect a much better service. Took ages to come and take our first drink order, and by the time my glass of wine I’d ordered to have with my main course came, I’d finished my course. They also brought my husband the wrong drink, and then brought a bottle of wine to our table we hadn’t ordered. My husband ordered a coffee after his dessert and the lady who brought it over joked “hopefully we’ve got one right this time”. Its not a joke really when you’re paying that sort of money to eat. Our glasses were left empty and you had to flag someone down to take a drink order. Not one person asked us if we were enjoying our meal, or needed anything else, until the manager came over when we’d finished our meal. On the whole seem incredibly disorganised. The food was lovely though hence three stars, but unfortunately we’ll be going elsewhere in future.

If I could give more then five stars I would. Food was exceptional, staff were attentive but not overbearing and the service was excellent. We booked in for the tasting menu and over the seven courses I couldn't find fault with one plate, the standouts being the Venison and the Blueberry courses, but overall the best tasting menu I have had. Throughout the evening the staff we friendly and attentive, at one stage I accidentally dropped my spoon and before I could pick it up a waiter had picked it up and replaced it with a new one. To top off the experience we were given some homemade chocolates, will definitely be looking to go back soon.

Well I don't know where to start but I'm going to give my honest opinion about this wonderful restaurant, first I would to say a very BIG thank you to everyone for the way we myself and my wife and my two dearest friends for the warmest of welcome you all shown towards us all. Right from the moment we arrived the staff were amazing and we were treated so well in everyway possible, everyone were so helpful friendly and so polite, I like how professional were here. Really warm welcome and a very comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant has been recently refurbished and it is absolutely beautiful. The owner was there in amounts this staff which was good to see. Most importantly the food was top notch, couldn’t fault it at all, my kids had a pizza each which they absolutely loved. My husband had a steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the pasta which was delicious 👍🏻 Really good all round. Keep up the great work.

Service is incredible. You guys are amazing and give great menu advice. The menu, whilst reading it, seems pretty average but upon the first mouthful... it’s just heaven. The stuffed gnocchi is just mind blowing and the chocolate texture was surprisingly refreshing. The wine list is good and if you need any suggestions for pairings, just ask the main man. We rebooked again a few weeks after for the tasting menu. Will update this review after. In the mean time: I definitely recommend this place if you’re wanting to splash out a little.

Decent pizza but not as good as the reviews lead me to believe. There was far too much cheese on all the pizzas we ordered. The dough was decent but for a Neapolitan pizza a little disappointing as it lacked flavour.

I visited with m sister and niece for lunch and we were not disappointed. This place is a diamond of a restaurant. The food, ambience and service is 5*. Luigi is a charming friendly host and took time to chat with us. All the staff that served us, were excellent. I went there a few weeks ago and ordered from the early bird menu a while back and ordered the page for starters and the lamb shank as my main The service was good andy drinks came out very soon after ordering. The food was tasty and well presented. My only gripe is the presentation of the lamb shake. I was expecting the lamb to be on the bone but it was cut up and presented in a tower. Also, the portion size was not as big as I would have liked it to be. Other that that it's a nice restaurant with good good and good service.

Service was good, restaurant clean and well kept. The food was a little pretentious at £15 for the smallest scoop of bland pasta, not what I was expecting (the meatball and pork rib pasta sauce I believe). This was in stark contrast to eleaborate chocolate dessert with ice cream etc that was full of flavour and very impressive. Overall the main didn't warrant the price, I wouldn't mind paying £15 for a mouthful of pasta if it was full of flavour. I left hungry and generally not overly impressed. The manager/owner came to ask if everything was OK after we had finished dessert and the bill was on its way. Normally, it's customary to check in with customers not long after they have started eating to rectify problems early on. When he asked "how was your meal" I said "it was alright" with a shrug. He seemed happy with this response and quickly sauntered on. Some tweaks would bring Sapori up to it's prices, and this would start with more attention to feedback. If I was told something was "alright" I would want to know why it wasn't "fantastic" and how I can improve in the future.

My husband and I went to Sapori for the first time last night. We were instantly made very welcome by ‘George’, who was extremely attentive and polite. The starters were amazing, the atmosphere was lovely. I ordered a Neapolitan pizza, when it arrived it was very raw inside so I returned it. The manager came back to me to say that was the ‘correct’ way to serve a Neapolitan pizza and gave it back to me ( he did offer to change the meal) I ate the topping only. Admittedly the pizza was taken off the bill, but, has anyone else ever experienced a ‘raw’ Neapolitan pizza at sopori or any other Italian? I was such a shame, as the rest of the experience was perfect.

Beautifully presented rooms giving a comfortable yet high class feel. The staff are exemplary, customer service is second to none. And most importantly in a restaurant, the food is amazing. I first went to Sapori 4 years ago and didn't go back. I can't remember what the food was like but the service was pretty awful. I can't say the same now. The dining room, menu, food and a service is great. A lot of dishes that you'd expect, but a few others that are more creative and interesting. The second best place to eat in Anstey.

Each time we visit Sapori we wonder why we don't do so more frequently as we so greatly enjoy the food. We are always well look after by the staff and find their knowledge about the food and regions of Italy very impressive. Many times we ask if they can deviate from the menu if we want some of our favourite pasta dishes and they have always been very happy to oblige - Linguine carbonara is a staple and beautifully done! Our only difficulty is managing to do justice to all the courses but we somehow manage. We'll be back again soon.

Lovely atmosphere and great food but NO DISABLED TOILETS!!! My wheelchair barely even went through the doors in the gents and wouldn't go in the cubicle. What a struggle we had. Surprising such a nice, modern restaurant fails so badly in this area despite having a ramp at the entrance.

This is the best italian restaurant i have visited in England. In my opinion Michelin star quality food. All the staff friendly and professional and Luigi the propieter was amazing. He took the time to sit down and discuss the menu . And the lemoncellos that are home made along with everything else makes this a 5 star eatery for me and my partner . which I will be visiting on a regular basis from now on. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in italian food .Nothing is to much trouble for any of the staff. The wine list is also impressive and the Barolo is quality. As is Luigi.
