Lovely independent Italian on the hill with a welcoming vibe. The decor inside is nice and although not the most spacious dining area it gets away with it with the friendly atmosphere. Orders were taken quickly from the brilliant staff and service was fast too. The menu is large and easily has something for everyone. The mussel starter was brilliant, with a super sauce, good portion size, and lemon water bowl for finger cleaning too. Pizzas as the main were again a good size, with the toppings not being scrimped on and cooked well. The tiramisu desert was promised as being the best in Lincoln, and it lived up to the claim! Huge portion, presented well and memorable for all the right reasons. Prices were reasonable for the setting and levels of service, and I’d love to return next time I’m in the area!

Time of visit: Monday 8pm Food was really good! Better than expected. The lasagne was 5tier pasta with delicious fresh tasting tomatoe sauce. Excellent location near the cathedral and castle. Prices reasonable. Service good. Good decor. (It's not Gino de campo restaurant) Would definitely come back.

My husband and I went to Gino's for a date night after a recommendation from a friend, the food was delicious, reasonably priced and great service. The atmosphere was busy but happy, clearly a well loved restaurant by many.

Lovely little restaurant in the heart of the Bailgate area of Lincoln. We stopped in for a bite to eat before going to the Magna Carter Pub to watch Local Band Relentless Rockabilly play. The Food was delicious, we had the Tortelloni Di Spinch, A garlic bread to share and one of the cocktails that I've forgotten the name of, Staff were attentive and the ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be eating there again.

We ordered everything in one go as we had a tour of the castle booked straight after lunch, they were great and we had dinner eaten, left overs foil wrapped and ice cream to go within an hour. Calzone was very tasty. Kids portions were large. They could have shared a single portion. Kids eat free when adults order a meal between 1200 and 1430 which is a bonus when your on a budget.

Greeted promptly, friendly waitress/staff. Nice atmosphere. Order taken quickly and drinks arrived fast. Ordered the Cannelloni and it was nice and hot, very tasty. Good portion size that allowed me space for a dessert. Tiramisu was light and creamy. Only gripe is that a service charge is automatically added to your bill. We had great food and service, so if asked, would of agreed straight away to it, but what if that hadn't been the case?

Italian dining had slipped down our preference over the years as it's easier to home cook with good results, also the squeeze on finances means we dine out less and tend to go for Indian & Thai. However, this was a pleasant change (and a last minute decision). The food was good, with a nice atmosphere. It was also pleasant to see whole families, including young children, dining out... something you rarely see in Indian, Chinese or Thai restaurants :)

Please note this is a review for the Gino’s just around the corner on Bailgate, not the main restaurant. It’s a pleasant restaurant with a busy atmosphere, with nice staff. One of the staff however must’ve been new as he kept putting orders to the wrong table and was a bit muddled. Meals were fresh and hot and were nice to eat. I think the prices are a bit steep for food that is great, but not out of this world. Be aware there is a 10% service charge too, which is why my fiancé and I don’t eat here often. A nice treat though, all the same.

I went to Gino's after the hotel we'd checked into refused point blank to serve us a meal, Gino's was not busy as it was a weeknight, I was on my own as my husband felt unwell and decided to remain in the hotel room. I was treated very well indeed as a lone diner. I had a bowl of outstandingly good spinach pasta. I would wish to return here with my husband if we are in Lincoln again. The friendliness I was treated with made up for the bare faced rudeness the hotel guy treated us with. Thank you to the manager and waitress, all the very best x

We had come to visit the Lincoln castle and were finding some place for lunch around noon. Came across Gino's. The lunch deals seemed pretty good. Our diet is restricted, being vegetarian but the options were several. The food portions are extremely large and an absolute value for money. The last who served us was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The food was excellent! It's one of the best veggy friendly Italian places I have eaten at in England.

Although I've tried many restaurants in Lincoln, this was my first time visit to Gino's. Booked in advance, table for 2. We were sat in the restaurant round the side. Lovely atmosphere but felt the tables were far too close together, like they were trying to pack as many in the restaurant. Prompt service to start with. Ordered starters and a main each. Meal was lovely, value for money I think. However, we were never asked throughout the meal if everything was ok, they never came to ask for another drink despit them clearing away the glasses from the first order. Had to try and grab their attention as they were busy running around the place, probably because they'd put as many tables in as they could. Took about 10mins for a further drinks order. Then when we asked for the bill, he hovered over my shoulder whilst I checked the bill. Noticed the bill already had a 10% service charge already applied which I don't agree with in principle. I feel that if I have had a decent service I shall tip accordingly. I understand if it's a really large party but how many actually ask for it to be taken off? Overall it was lovely.

I went there for my anniversary and the food there was really good. I did have a hair in my beed filled spaghetti so they replaced it and get my free side bread. The best part though was the cheesecake. It was incredibly delicious and it felt so light and fluffy.

Service was very polite, friendly, and accommodating. Though it wasn't busy when we visited I did feel a little restricted as there wasn't much space between our table and the next, or between me and the servers station. However, the food was lovely (a tad too salty for me, but that's personal preference!). I highly recommend the lemon sorbet.

Very noisy and crowded. Decor is old and tbh really didn't appreciate the service charge! One of our party had to wait for her ice cream dessert, possibly one of the easiest dishes there is.

Food was acceptable, but not really worth the money. At the end we asked for 5 separate receipts and were given one with the sum of everything. After we asked for the separate receipts with VAT we were told that could not be done without payment for the whole expense. In the end they were unable to produce individual receipts. Finally a 10% service surcharge was added for below aver service.

Gino's has been going for years. The original owner sadly passed away a long time ago. There are posters everywhere about him appearing on channel 4 years ago. I wish they would take those posters down as they distract you. The food remains good but I stay away from pizzas. Instead go for Risotto or Lasagna - they are really good. The venue itself is not the cosiest - it's really loud when there's lots of people there. It's better for going out with friends rather than a romantic night with that special person. Also smaller kids (5 and younger) aren't going to enjoy it as much. Don't get me wrong it's not a place to avoid, it's ok but at it's best with friends and more grown up family. Is it my first port of call for a romantic night - not at the moment. Would I take my kids there - no they'll prefer other Italian places. Would I go there with a group of friends for the evening yes - I'd order lasagna and the white wine.

Attention: this is a review from an Italian. Which means I might be a little biased. This place is pricey, but fine. The interiors are well decorated, and I can appreciate at the side a flower composition with the Italian flag colours. Nice detail. The Italian food served though didn't reach my expectations. I have to say what a cracking place to eat! we had an overnight stay in Lincoln (White Hart Hotel) and decided to have a look around for something to eat, seen Gino's which looked nice and a couple coming out recommend it, they weren't wrong, staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was sooo good 👍 can't rate them highly enough, go and enjoy some Italian hospitality. 5 ⭐

Great food, but disappointed with big final bill, as hadn't been given the lunch offer menu, and unbeknown to us, we ordered risotto which apparently wasn't included in the offer! An expensive mistake for us, but felt we weren't given the help by servers! Ensure you ask for the correct menu when you arrive, we weren't given it (just normal menu)until we ordered sweet, too late by then!! 😏 I complained and they told me I should have asked... How could I if I've never visited before??

Food was good, I went with a group of people and not everybody was happy with the good or service. The most awkward part was some of us paid the extra service charge by adding an extra 10% tip to the meal but as some of the people I was with were not happy just paid for their food, as a result the waiter came over and said we did not pay all bill. So not the best but not the worst. I did pay the extra 10% as over all I was happy with the food.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars as the food was reasonably priced (4 adult pizzas, 2 child pizzas and 2 child desserts and a couple of drinks £44 inc free childrens food). But it isn't great pizza. Fresh dough is pointless if it isn't cooked through fully and the toppings didn't get any char from the oven. Probably wouldn't go back but ok!

We were a party of 5 without a booking. We were welcomed warmly in this covic friendly establishment and seated safely. The menu was was comprehensive. My Calzone Pizza was the best I have ever had. Atmosphere was excellent and Ginos fitted us in on a Saturday evening even though we hadn’t booked. Found this to be a great place for pizzas in a Lincoln. Had prompt delivery of food and it tasted great. It was not drenched in oil like other pizza restaurants around which does not make it overbearing to finish. It was easy to get hold of staff without much problem at all. Was very happy with the prices, were very reasonable considering other restaurants around coming within the same price per head. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed lovely dinner here on Thursday 10th June. Not long reopened since lockdown. Very convenient location near Bailgate, excellent hygiene measures in place. Good menu selection, portions are generous and staff attentive. Wine list is good, with some interesting choices. The Insalata Caprese and Penne pasta Carbonara were great, very full and satisfied here.

Visited here several days ago on a stay in Lincoln. Very busy. Both had a fusilli dish with my wife having the genovese and her comment was one of the best Italian dishes ever. To complement that we then had the tiramisu which was stupendous!

I haven't been to the restaurant, but want to thank them heartily. I urgently needed a voucher for a colleague's farewell (which was in 2 days). I called them at 3:30pm on a wednesday and I received the voucher at 12:30 pm next day. I was so happy and relieved to receive it as I was worried that I may not get it before the farewell on Friday afternoon. Thanks again for the wonderful service! :)

We ( a family of 10. 8adults and 2kids) visited Gino's yesterday with meal booked for 4pm in which we thoroughly enjoyed. Having drinks and then the 2-course meal offer. When we got our bill there was a large tip charge of I think £17.50 in which we eventually asked if it was a voluntary contribution. In which we were told it was and so asked for it to be removed as we thought it was a lot and wasn't explained that they would put it on. The service was good in taking order and serving food and drinks but they didn't go out of their way in any other manner. They didn't even ask if everything was ok. So because of this not being explained that is why we were not happy about leaving any tip. When leaving the restaurant we noticed on the door that you do provide an offer for kids to eat for £1 up to 4.30pm. We was not told about this when ordering. Our bill totalled well over £100. More like about £130+. It is expensive to go out for nice meal when got children and when we saw our 7yr old having a pizza which any adult would struggle with and was not offered any child menu or the offer which would have helped a lot. Can't understand why we weren't told about the offer. So was a bit upset. We did all enjoy our meals tho. Just upset of how our order was handled.

So asked for it to be cut, having just steak knife & folk on table! Also no offerings of sauces to go with it. Just though staff were nice, friendly & pleasant desserts made up for it slightly. No rush to go back

Lovely evening, we arrived at 6 pm reserved a table except you can’t choice which table you like. We had starts of mussels, a selection if breads, olives and cut meats. Our mains were very nice Lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese, seafood Risotto accompanied with red and white wine. Desserts we had Ginos crepes. Lovely evening. Check your bill as they add an optional of 10% on top.

Called in for lunch while visiting Lincoln. Great value 3 courses. Excellent Minestrone soup, really tasty stock. Great pizza base, crisp and tasty with good quality toppings. Also enjoyed the Panna Cotta which had a great wobble and served with a nice, sharp fruit compote. The house wine was nice and not too overpriced. Well worth a visit.

We visited Gino's for my wife's 50th birthday and were disappointed that we could not order one main to share, a bottle of vine ,a couple of starters, salad and fries. We were told by the waiter that we had to order two mains being the restaurants policy. We are not big eaters so we dropped one starter and the fries from our order. Food was OK. All in all a disappointing visit as we were sat by a drafty door too.
