Classy high quality Italian restaurant. Lovely food and good friendly service but a few minor irritations mean only 4* The first irritating thing was they didn’t have any olives now this might not seem like a big deal but really, an Italian restaurant that cant keep a stock of olives! Poor show… The other was the automatic gratuity. Now I don’t mind paying 10% as a tip but I like to do it as an option. I went here mid week (I have been before so I knew it was a good restaurant) because they had an offer on for club individual members 50% off food and non alcoholic drinks to a maximum of £10 off per person so what is usually a rather expensive restaurant becomes more reasonable. What irritated me was they charged the 10% on the full bill then took off the £20 now so far as I’m concerned that is just cheeky!

I appreciate that a lot of businesses are having supply chain issues at the moment, but if that's the case, perhaps temporary menus need to be printed? It was fine. I probably wouldn't book it off my own back. But it wasn't not nice. Food wise. There didn't seem to be an awful lot of choice. The staff all seem to be Italian which is nice. Orders served quite quickly. It's probably on the more expensive side, despite being a bit basic.

Gorgeous food and wine I ordered the Arrabiata pasta dish ,which was spicy but I loved it. I also had the panna cotta which was beyond dreamy. The wine was crisp and delicious. I was really looked after as a solo diner and will definitely go again

Went for dinner recently and whilst the food was ok I was disappointed with the service. There were not many people sat down this evening when we entered however 3 tables came in shortly after we'd sat down. Strangely enough all three of these tables had their orders taken before we did. We had to ask someone to come over and take ours. . . OK no big deal, just a little disappointed. Once our starters had arrives and once we'd finished them, we had to ask for our mains to be brought out. I would say we left it about 10 minutes before asking for our mains, yet all other tables were being attended to. In the end, once we'd finished out food we decided to pay the bill and leave, despite the kids wanting deserts. guess what - I has to go over to ask someone for the bill as others tables were being attended to but nobody had noticed we'd finished about another 10 mins prior. Always thought of Piccolino as being a bit more of an upmarket chain., Granted we haven't eaten there for a while, but most other times we've been the service level has matched what we'd paid for. I can't say on this occasion, despite the food being ok, the service wasn't.

Went here for the first time today and was very impressed. The food is to die for and the staff is amazing. This was my first carbonara I had since I moved here in October and I was very excited to have it. It was amazing and didn't disappoint one bit; it even came with a perfect poached egg on top and optional Parmesan. The staff went above and beyond for us. The steak was amazing, definitely worth the price! We'll definitely come back again!

Our group visited Piccolino while on a weekend away, and would definitely come back if in Liverpool again! The food and cocktails here were excellent - very tasty, high quality and well priced. The bonus was that the service was amazing - our host and waiters were so attentive and friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our group of 8 had a lovely time. Always a favourite restaurant of ours when in Liverpool, all the staff are very welcoming and genuinely love their job. All staff wore masks which was great to see and hand sanitiser is available on all tables, making us feel safe in these uncertain times. My husband and I visited on Friday, 18th September, it was busy with a good atmosphere and the service flowed well. My husband ordered scallops to start and I had the asparagus and for main course we had the Bitecca Fiorentina, sirloin on one side of bone and fillet on the other. It was cooked to perfection and an excellent choice as a sharing dish for two, served with a portion of fries each and choice of sauces, if you’re a meat lover like us, this is the dish for you. Chocolate truffles and dessert wine finished off a lovely meal. Thank you Dario for looking after us with great service.

My hubby & I have just arrived home after having a wonderful evening at our long time favourite restaurant Piccolino Liverpool this evening. We were lucky enough to have won ‘Chateaubriand for Two’ in a competition run by Piccolinos in early August & were absolutely overjoyed as it has been our favourite restaurant for over 18 years having spent many joyous occasions there from our first official date, a return from honeymoon meal & many birthdays & anniversaries over the years for both ourselves & family. The food had always been exceptional & although a chain restaurant it has the ambiance of a small family owned establishment. The lighting of an evening is subtle, enhancing the atmosphere making it a pleasant way to share an intimate evening with a loved one. We shared a lovely bottle of Red wine along with water for the table. For starters Steve Flanagan had Capesante (Isle of Mann Scallops, spicy Calabrian sausage & tenderstem broccoli) & I opted for a classic Cocktail di Gamberi Rossi (prawn cocktail). Both were very tasty! For mains we shared the delectable Chateaubriand (for two) served with roast tomatoes & mushrooms. Sides - Broccoletti - tenderstem broccoli, chilli & garlic. Insalata Della Casa - Gem lettuce, radicchio, tomato & rocket. Both fresh & delicious! As the sauce accompaniments were on the small side it was recommended that we get four in total. The hubby opting for Peppercorn sauce & myself the Porcini Mushroom sauce. Both were extremely tasty. We had no room for desserts I’m afraid! Our waiter Vassilios was very helpful in our selections & in his patience as I was indecisive about which wine I preferred! ****Hand sanitiser was on the individual tables & the tables were sufficiently spaced to adhere to social distancing measures**** Overall an absolute wonderful evening post celebration (once again) of our Anniversary & my birthday last week.

This place is really good. In the cuisine you can hear people talking in italian. I loved because when I go to an Italian restaurant I really expect real Italian people cooking like in Italy. I ordered a gnocchi with a four cheese sauce that they don't have in the menu. The chef agreed to make the dish for me and it was amazing. The taste and the quality of the products are fabulous. My husband ordered tagliatelle with salmon and he told that it was the best salmon dish he ever had. We really recommend Piccolino...

Went for a meal on a Friday night without booking at 7pm and got a table immediately. Staff were so helpful and friendly, quick and very professional service. I have eaten here a few times. From what I gathered food is mostly good, but can be inconsistent. I once ordered some simple pasta - thinking it would be a safe choice as I am somewhat particular, but low and behold, the pasta tasted as if it had barely touched the boiling water. It was tough, and rather cold. On subsequent occasions, I tended to choose meat based dishes and I found the quality to be superior, thankfully. (Although it wouldn't have been difficult!) As far as service goes, all members of staff come across as friendly and helpful. The wait for food is often long, but I'm guessing that this is due to the popularity of the restaurant. Overall remarks: above average quality food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. I would certainly recommend!

What an amazing restaurant. If your looking for an Italian in Liverpool City centre then look no further than here. The service is 5 star the food is 5 star its unreal. Unlike san Carlo up the road this place is personal its about you. You have your own waiter/ waitress and they make sure your ok with everything. If your not sure they ask you if you don't know they tell you they make sure your happy. I've been to many restaurants but nothing comes close to this place to make sure your happy znd understand everything. Salatore at the the front door is a true gent make sure you see him ad he will look after your every needs. We where so impressed we have booked for a special date in February x

First the positives, food was lovely and reasonable portion sizes served in pleasant surrounding. Prices are on the high side, but not rediculously so. Sadly our experience this evening was let down by the extremely long wait for a table of over an hour, despite being told it would likely be 20mins, with the last 10 minutes of the wait spent looking at the empty, fully prepared table we would be sitting at. Having ordered our food immediately after being seated, and having been assured that the kitchen would speed up our food because of the long wait, we had yet another lengthy wait for our food to arrive, which then arrived with one of the side dishes missing. Having informed the waiter he said he would go and get this from the kitchen, then didn't come back. We asked another member of staff who said they would go and find out what had happened, and by the time they returned with the missing side dish we were all finished our meals. Complained to the manager, who offered no real apology or discount from the bill for the poor experience. Definitely will not be returning.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be ripped off with your bill. On Saturday night, my daughter had an extra £80 added to her bill as they presumably thought her big group would not notice. The tab included 2 bottles of white wine totaling £40, beers and cocktails when no one in their group drank any of these things. In addition to this the service was very poor. Food was O.K.

In desperate need of renevation. All of the red plastic seats are cracked and look old and dirty. Was given dirty wine glasses and the replacements were not much better. Avoid the gents toilet at all costs, they look like very very old public toilets that should be closed. The food was ok, nothing much else to say on that. Piccolinos needs to do much better than this for a city centre restaurant.

Ate there on 04 July. My friend and I were the first of the lunchtime diners and received a very warm welcome from the manager. I had sea bass and my friend had a refreshing platter comprising parma ham, melon, mozzarella and pomegranate for her main. She had delicious ice cream for dessert and I had the melt-in-your-mouth limoncello cheesecake. This seems to be a popular restaurant and has a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended

First time in Liverpool and Piccolino's recommended, so thought we'd try; we weren't disappointed. The last time I had perfect calamari was in Greece 30 years ago, this at least equalled that experience, excellent food, friendly waiters, my 17 year old daughter loved it too, and she is quite a fussy eater. The fish dishes are fabulous, and pasta delicious too. Will definitely be back.

We have been going to Piccolinos almost every Saturday for close on ten years. Whenever we have friends visiting, or there's a special occasion to celebrate there is never any doubt about where we will go - it's always Piccolinos. We have always enjoyed the very warmest of welcomes and the most delicious food. The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly and staff go to great lengths to ensure that regulars like us, and new clients, are treated with the same friendly courtesy. This is clearly a place where staff are well-treated and happy. The restaurant is spotless and the seasonal menus always include tempting, imaginative dishes. We couldn't recommend Piccolinos more highly.

Visited Piccalinos in Liverpool last week, the food was really good, steak was cooked perfectly. This is not however a 'romantic meal for 2' kind of place due to its location it is VERY noisy, and the seats are, well, very worn in. It would be and ideal place to have something to eat and then go out in Liverpool but not somewhere to go for a quiet meal. The staff were very thorough and competent would visit again if I was going out in Liverpool or havin a meal after a day of shopping.
