Wonderful food and atmosphere. Mostly very impressed with their gluten free options. The Garlic Cheese Bread for example is incredible. Will be going back whenever possible.

This was an impulse lunch decision, food was nice, we ordered from the lunch menu and we didnt have to wait too long for the food, service was good and both the waiters were friendly and professional.

Food was great service was extremely slow. Took a lot of time taking our orders, then another more then 15 minutes for the olives and bruschetta to arrive. After the starters mains took a while as well and no checks in was on us at all if we were happy we the food or not. Staff was too busy taking care of the table next to us which had all the food issues. Getting another round of drinks were finding only bartender taking our orders. Good experience since the food was really nice but steps of service were not on point at all.

Stumbled across Trattoria 51 by chance and were welcomed in by their staff, pushchair and all. Baby friendly with excellent facilities, delicious food (with a varied set menu) and good coffee. They even asked us if we wanted them to turn the music down when our baby was having a nap. Spent a good 2.5 hours here and didn't feel rushed at all.

Amazing restaurant. Slightly rustic with the bar and deli at the front but modern when your dining in. Good use of photos and colours as the decor and plenty of space. Good was amazing. Good portions. Very good staff and nice and helpful. 1 starter, 2 mains, and 1 desert cost less then £48. With no tip. Was well worth it and can recommend again to anyone for romantic or birthday treat. TIP: Parking is a bit tricky, with limited spaces, so best searching elsewhere before arrival. P. S I mentioned it was my wives birthday but nothing was done. 9/10

Great venue for a lovely meal, in really nice surroundings. The table for our pre booked meal was on the top level of a two level restaurant - great views :-) We all enjoyed our Italian cuisine, everything served on time, piping hot - & very tasty - I have to say, the level of service was brilliant, even the fact that it was a very busy Saturday night, didn't deter the staff from looking after us on a personal level (sometimes it felt like we were enjoying celebrity status - oh how the other half lives !!). Have been coming here for years since it first opened. The level of service and food hasn't changed in all that time - it's still spectacular. Nothing is too much trouble. We recently had a small family reunion meal planned and one of our guests is vegan, but the staff made a fuss of ensuring their food was perfect for them. This is a perfect family run restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone. It's a real hidden gem.

Found this place by chance when visiting a University Open Day. We got a friendly welcome when we got there and the food was excellent. My partner said it was the best pasta she'd ever had. The service went a bit slow at the end but that was around 5 pm when a lot of big groups arrived at once. I guess this could also be because of change of shift. They charge a 10% service charge too which I was happy to pay and it saves faffing about trying to sort out paying a tip at the end. They seemed to have a well stocked bar too although we were driving so not interested in exploring further. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Gorgeous food and lovely staff. Lots of love went into the menu, the chef cares about their food and it shows. The waiting staff are so attentive and make sure you have a happy meal. They've built a very comfortable outdoor seating area too with heaters and tents.

Booked a table and arrived early we were fitted in no problem. We were given time between courses which we like. Staff were lovely. The chicken was a bit dry so overcooked but preferred that to under cooked. That is the only reason for 4 stars. We would certainly use again if we lived in Liverpool.

My friend had chicken and it was very bland, my diavola pizza was not particularly spicy even though it had chillies on, but the chunky chips and garlic bread with cheese were yummy. They seem to be understaffed which makes service slow, however we had somewhere to be and asked for the bill numerous times, but never received it. It was only after going to the bar and asking to pay there that someone paid us attention. Staff were nice, but rather than let us pay and freeing up a table they kept going to the bigger groups to top up drinks etc. It was a little frustrating, but as I said "understaffed".

Absolutely lovely place to eat. After stumbling upon it we asked if there was space for four people. We waited less than 3 minutes. The staff were really friendly and the whole place was buzzing with atmosphere. The food we ordered which was fabulous, came out hot and in between courses had time to 'digest'. The selection of drinks were great and not too expensive either. All in all a great evening.

Mixed bag. Wasn't too impressed with the staff despite having about 10 waiters floating around. We weren't asked for drinks for 20 mins and they came 20 mins later. Our first course didn't come for another 30 minutes after this. We weren't sure what the reasons were for this, but the staff did come over and apologise, but nothing more than this. Front of house was great. He seemed to be doing 50 times more than anyone else and was friendly and attentive. It was his intervention that seemed to get attention to us. The rest of the staff just seemed vacant and were unfriendly. No one came to us despite it being painfully obvious we weren't being served and had nothing on our table! The staff argued in Italian clearly in front of customers when we first arrived and also from the kitchen to which was open in view of some customers which made an uneasy environment. However, the food was pretty good. Would recommend on that front. Despite it looking really simple and unassuming, it was flavoursome and tasty. I would put down my experience as a one off judging from others reviews, but ultimately I don't have a positive opinion and couldn't recommend it based on our sole experience. This is despite being very sympathetic to restaurants during covid which are doubly busy. Service 0.5 Food 3.5

Visited at lunchtime a couple of weeks before Christmas when the restaurant was busy with groups of people. The service was good and we were shown to our pre-booked table straight away. What a find!!. We booked a table for 2 on a Saturday evening and were immediately impressed by the welcome from the staff as soon as we walked in. Love this place! Having a gluten and dairy intolerance to cater for it's always a pleasure to come somewhere the waiting staff know the food! We don't have to worry that we'll be poorly for a couple of weeks as staff are fastidious and knowledgeable when it comes to catering for allergies and intolerances. Chose to eat here after reading the reviews and the fact it was near to another place I wanted to visit but can't say I was overly impressed with the meal. Had the lamb shank and it should have been falling off the bone but it wasn't. The other half wasn't impressed with the seafood salad starter either though his main was better than mine.

Pizzas are fantastic and they accommodate both takeaway and sit in. The price is reasonable. The staff seem to speak Italian together which provides (at least for me) a feeling that the food is authentic, and is borne out by the quality I believe. Would highly recommend.

Food is absolutely delicious and decent sized portions. The staff however are very helpful but not overbearing, very touchy feely but that is the Italian way. Christmas day lunch at Trattoria 51 was a great experience. NOTHING was too much trouble for these guys. Food excellent, ambience excellent, price...well for Christmas day...excellent. We asked about vegan options...their response..."you ask for it, we'll cook it"...cant ask for better service than that. With lots of hugs and handshakes all around, it's my new favourite Italian restaurant. But don't ask Toni to take his hat off....it's just not gonna happen!

Here's a great one for anyone missing their favourite Italian whilst isolating, Trattoria51@Home is available for pick up from the Old Hall Street restaurant, still 95% gluten free menu, still same great food. It's also available for delivery by Bella. So tonight we had cheesy garlic bread, chicken and mushroom creamy pasta and chocolate brownies with ice cream, and it was still bellisimo.

Not sure why everyone loves this restaurant. The food is not very unique and taste like any chain restaurant food. Starter was good but very small. Main dish (suckling pig) was dry and not really tasty and mash tasted like out if a package. Chocolate brownie wasn't wasn't warm and again didn't really taste like home made.

Fantastic place for a quick, tasty lunch. They have a wonderful lunch deal; 2 course for £9.95 or 3 for £13.95. Had a Bruschetta starter, which was as well seasoned and delicious as any I have tasted in Italy itself. The Margherita main was a bit doughy and a little bland but for the price and speed, I doubt you'll find a nicer pizza in the area. But the torta della nonna desert was wonderful.

Dinner for one tonight, so I didn't sample the dessert menu. I would say that for the price, this is a great find away from the busier restaurant quarter. 7/10

One of that places that blames yourself for passing by that many times and not entering. The first time I went to eat there was after passing by the street where kitchen gets the ''smoke'' out and smell that porcheta they were roasting OMG! The owner was in the door and after he heard my compliments to the smell, he invite me to eat and try the porcheta for FREE! After that, regular customer. My favorite dish is the tagliatelle with mushrooms, panceta, cherries and cream, it the on the fres pasta section. The spinach lasagna ... amazing and the peperoni ripieno of risotto and sausage. On the other hand and as much as I love the place and the staff, it is not a place I would go to eat pizza.
