Reviews of Bocca di Lupo
R. C.
One of the best Italian restaurant in London so far.
We did celebrate a hen party last Sunday at Bocca di Lupo.
The ambiance was welcoming, the staff attentive and well trained and the food was so so good. Like a proper Italian restaurant!
Thanks to Giovanni, he made all the experience even better!

Love. It!! As someone who is still trying to find a good Italian restaurant this was a big entry. It felt effortlessly classy, sitting on the bar is always my favorite seat of the house. The waiting staff were so lovely and humorous!! It is going to be hard to say anything bad because really from pricing, drinks, food, ambience, waiting staff it was all exceptional. I am so happy we came here, it was my first time and it will not be my last. The trout and polenta dish was heavenly and also the carpaccios I have been thinking about since we dined! The variety of negronis SERIOUSLY, it's like they didn't want us to leave. Brava!!

Again just brilliant from start to finish. Service from Phil was phenomenal, the food is consistently so fabulous and inventive without being fussy. Flavours and choices no abounds. Excellent wine list, you are made to feel one of the family and immersed to far flung memories of Italy and happiness through expert hands. We visit time and time again over many years and each time this place just gets better.

One of the better Italian restaurants I’ve been to in London. I’d recommend trying their squid and steak. For deserts I found the Tiramisu quite decent. I wasn’t too impressed by the service.

Really great dinner this week, sitting at the busy counter. Lot's of friendly attentive staff who are keen to help. As for the food,, we dined on the large range of small plates so we work our way through the menu. We will be back for more.

Love the food, the menu represents food in different regions in Italy. Mostly seafood and fresh, the produce is well sourced and tasteful. The atmosphere is casual and the staffs are super friendly

Great dining experience.
Delicious food.
Great service by the waiting staff.
My photos don’t do the restaurant justice.
The coffee I had, was one of the best I have ever had…

Had the most fantastic dining experience here last night. So appreciative of the restaurant staff who were all so polite and attentive. Despite booking a very late sitting, they made sure we could order food, and drinks. The food itself was incredible, and we most certainly will be back. Couldn’t fault the evening at all.

The place is really nice and Katia gave us the best service she could, she was really focus in the job and professional. Was lunch time around 2 o clock, place was quite busy but food arrive in a decent time. All the food was really nice and tasty, focaccia specially. What was really disappointing was the tiramisu, first for the price 8£ second for the flavour, not really as tiramisu you expect. But honestly the place deserve 5 star cause we can’t judge the restaurant for 1 item we personally didn’t like it. 15% of service and the waitress trying to get a date with the chef upstairs when we left, is what we didn’t like it. Absolutely to try ✌️

Good food. Not great service. Sat at the counter and they get to you when they get to you. Actually that's not true....had to ask multiple times for the basics.....almost 15 minutes from sitting down until i was able to get a drink and asked multiple times to pay the bill. And they didn't check in on how things are going until I was ready to leave....so how do you salvage a situation at that point? These are the basics and you shouldn't charge a 15% service charge (more than the current market average!) when you don't give good service. Basically this is a place that has gotten popular, probably for the food, and they're being lazy in other areas. It means you have poor management that doesn't know how to keep their eye on the ball. Won't come back as a result.

Really beautiful Italian restaurant. Creative menu, and kind knowledgeable staff. The only reason I’ve dropped a star is on account of vegetarian options - there are a reasonable number of them, but I do think they have a little room for improvement still. The standout dish for all of us was the aubergine parmigiana. The rest was enjoyable but nothing particularly special - the pumpkin and porcini mushroom dishes were nice but felt like something I could have easily made at home. Basically, quality over quantity of vegetarian options is what’s needed here in my opinion!

Love this restaurant - one of my favourites in London. Incredible Italian food - creative delicious menu at good prices. Great service too. A MUST VISIT!

I’m going to dream about the food that ate here for days to come. Service is impeccable, and the food authentic 10/10 would recommend

The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel really appreciated as customers. They also knew exactly what to recommend in terms of wine and side dishes to compliment our meals.

Amazing selection of dishes and wine from across Italy. You’ll find your happy, no doubt. Try the Luganega with Foie Gras, simply delicious!

Dine at home option is fantastic - high quality produce, clear instructions and delicious flavours. The customer service were very communicative through a couple of delivery issues. Would highly recommend.

Had a delightful dinner experience here and enjoyed every dish that we ordered, especially the honey marinated pork chop, orecchiette with nduja and squid bolognese spaghetti.

Amazing food. Friendly service.
Just be aware last orders for lunch is 3pm (I didn’t read the small print on a 2:45 booking but the staff made sure it was ok).

Great atmosphere but confused with the menu. Explanation of dishes would have been useful. Choosing dishes a bit of pot luck. Waiter tried to explain dishes but still pot luck! Give it a try it will be exciting.

Stopped in for lunch, and was impressed by the prix-fixe offering. Interesting, delicious dishes served in a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Not somewhere I’d go for an intimate meal, but definitely one for chatty lunches or a celebration. Was a surprise highlight of a trip to London and I wish I could have tried another day to taste what the chef had decided.

Absolutely fantastic, and we had a lovely waitress too!

Amazing fresh pasta and delicious decadent desserts with quick service

A delightful and delicious tour of contemporary regional Italian cuisine. You won’t find pizza here, just some of best kept Italian food secrets with amazing wine to match.
Always such a delight to come here and the quality continues to impress me after many years.

Fantastic Small Plates restaurant serving a cross section of Italian/Sardinian dishes - plenty of choice and a number of unusual but very tasty options.
Service was top notch as well.
Beer selection was limited, but not an issue, considering how good the food was.
Highly recommended.

Love love love. Small plates (bigger if you like!) And the food is incredible. The pastas are a must try and I highly recommend sitting at th chefs counter to watch the magic happen. A great experience, clean, and authentic food.

Date night. Been here a few times. My wife’s fav Italian in town. Sat at the bar. Felt very Covid safe with the dividers. Food is consistently very good although the suckling pig was not as great as previous times but still very good. Maybe it was the cut that we had which was the hind leg. Oh and try Gelupo across the road for some Sensational ice cream

One of my absolute favourite places in London. Food is always so fresh and so delicious, you can pick anything from their menus and you won’t get disappointed. It’s tapas style but the portions are not small. The service is really good as well. It’s a great place for big groups (max 10). The atmosphere is really nice as it’s always busy but doesn’t get too loud. Recommend booking in advance.

Very interesting menu, engaged and energetic staff will help you through some of the very off-the-beaten-track regional dishes. You can go for small sharing plates or a traditional 3-course meal, either works. Wine menu has a quite exceptional range of affordable bottles that you are unlikely to see elsewhere.
C. W.
Lovely and well cooked food from all over the regions of Italy! The suckling pig is exceptional. Too big for one person to eat as it is very heavy. The tiny blueberry like grapes help but wish there were no seeds in them.
A better gripe would be the marzipan rum & raisin ball had hardly a hint of rum at all. 👎

Proper Italian restaurant. Very lively with a great vibe. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The Sicilian workman’s lunch is particularly good value. A pleasure to visit and eat!

I had my first experience of Bocca Di Lupo during lockdown, having treated myself to some of their home cooking boxes. Omg. It's all been fabulous. So I was really excited about eating at the restaurant in real-life. It didn't disappoint. Great food. Excellent service. Having lived in Sicily for 2 years it was wonderful to see really authentic dishes on the menu. Highly recommended.

Inventive, traditional, unorthodox. Also not too expensive considering the quality of food! This is a restaurant that really cares about the cuisine it is serving up.

Good Italian food and good service. My favourites were the roasted pumpkin (I imagine it's seasonal) and the mushroom risotto. Dessert was tasty too.

Lovely sunday light lunch. No booking, cam around half twelve, got a seat right by the pass up at the counter. Great service, the waiter knew the menu well. The orechietti was fantastic and the wild boar polenta amazing. The mozzarella arancini ball was the only slight disappointment of the meal, while the saffron, bone marrow and gremolata arancino was amazing. The bread to start was unreal, the olive oil sumptuous, the olives sublime and the buffalo mozzarella ball generous and creamy. Lovely ambiance in here would return tontry more of the main dishes and would highly reccomend.

Really poor experience. Asked to wait for twenty minutes as the previous table hadn’t left - ‘can you just stand there?’ Waited for ages to get any service (we would have been happy with a glass of wine at this point), asked for the sommelier who was serving another table - took 20 minutes to head over - nice but so slow and off the ball. The people are lovely, the sommelier (when you can get his attention) is fab, and the food is great. But be prepared to dine in a clustered ‘what pandemic?’ environment - I’ve not been anywhere in the past 18 months where I’ve felt like a sardine. This place was ramming people in like no tomorrow. Nice place. Lots to sort out for me to want to return.

Upscale and efficient tapas style Italian restaurant. I was impressed with the speed of service given that it was packed. As well as the affordability of dinner. Also with the taste of a few of the dishes. Really great quality cheeses, bread, and olive oil. Unfortunately I did find the dishes hit or miss as I also was unimpressed by some of the fish, veggies, and a fried piece of Lamb I had.

One of, if not my favourite restaurant in London. I am always blown away by the food. Bursting with flavours, seasonal, high quality without being fussy. Love the atmosphere when sat at the counter. Attentive service without being too much.

It’s definitely not the same Bocca Di Lupo as what I liked before. My friend and I were both surprised that the food quality becomes so average now. Presentation was quite rough and food was very salty. Service was a bit clumsy. Considering better choices of the same price level elsewhere in London, I’ll probably not come back anymore.

Expecting it to be style over substance, we were pleasantly surprised by Bocca di Lupo. Everything from the service to the food was perfect. We had a diner with a food allergy and we got a separate menu which highlighted the allergens. Our server also meticulously explained if there were any suspected "problem" ingredients while ordering.
In terms of advice for future diners, I would suggest going for the small plates as you get to try more of the menu. In particular, our table fell in love with the sea bream carpaccio, the tajarin with raw duck egg and lemon and the pappardelle with venison ragu.
A very minor disappointment was the lack of tiramisu on the menu, we will have to time our next visit to coincide with its comeback!

Great tapas style Italian restaurant in soho. We managed to book a table for a Saturday evening that same day in the morning, the only problem is that it was located in the bar, bit stalls are comfortable and service is good. The wine was very affordable and the dishes were great. The goat ragu and the sausages were great, a little disappointed with the rabbit and the langostinos but they were alright. Deserts were amazing, the blood orange sorbet and the grandpas balls were very good. Bill came under 100 which is not bad for central London.
E. C.
Amazing and tasty Italian food. It’s a small joint so book in advanced. The lobster spaghetti is def a must get but the pork wasn’t the best. Another top Italian restaurant in Central London.
D. T.
A great Italian restaurant. Most dishes have a small plate option, which is ideal for sharing.
The anchovies are savoury and moorish. The homemade pasta was a highlight!
The gelato they serve is from across the road, at their sister restaurant Gelupo.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and great value! Love the half portion option so we could try more outstanding dishes. Pasta is fresh and prepared perfectly al dente. Pesto is vibrant and colourful. We loved Bocca and will return!
R. C.
This meal was the next best thing to being in Italy. We loved it and will be going back again!

Probably one of the most intriguing Italian restaurants that you can find in London with a wide range of unique and delicious regional food. Beautifully plated and great drinks to go with it, this restaurant offers an experience!

Had the friggitelli peppers and they were so refreshing! Honestly one of the best and most interesting things I’ve eaten in a while. Our server, Esmeralda, was brilliant! She warned us that she was new, but actually she came across as extremely confident and knowledgable. She was able to help with all of our questions and even offered to check with other servers if she wasn’t sure herself. Very professional and made our night better! The reason I give 3 stars is because of a lack of vegan options on the menu. As nice as the peppers were, it would have been great to get many other delicious dishes besides just a salad. Get with the times!🤣 Thank you Esmeralda though!
