Really lovely and a cozy place to have an Italian experience in the heart of City of London. I have been here quite a few times and haven't had a bad experience so far. The restaurant is very neat and tidy. Dishes are undoubtedly very delicious. Haven't tried their soup though. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an Italian break :)

Tasty food, however they don’t wash their clams properly. I order that dish two times in their restaurant. The first time the taste was very good, but the clams were dirty. they didn’t charge me for that dish, which was nice of them snd I didn’t finish even a half of it. The next time when I ordered the same dish, the dish was smell not the same, and the clams still contained some sant. They don’t have honey in their restaurant and they made my tea 15 minutes. The service could be better and they must to clean better their seafood.

A pleasant surprise to myself but perhaps not to other diners. The place was full at 7pm mid week. Although many were travellers using Kings Cross station across the way, they were clearly also regulars. My pizza was entirely fresh -and superb. Service was friendly Italian style by Italians. I found myself automatically using my smattering of Italian! I suffered a bad case of food envy staring at other people's food but still - for once - thought I had the best. It's a trattoria. Clean, a bit beat up. Tight seating. Few frills but fantastic truly Italian food at decent prices. (After all most customers are not Londoners! ) it was a relief to escape rip off London prices.

Waiters having a chat loud with each other once the place had just two customers, but looked like they didnt care. Was like there werent anyone. The lasagna, carbonara and risottos are really nice. I have been there other times (i used to leave very close so went for take aways lots of time and food was most of tgr tine delivered very quickly), and my boyfriend stopped going because he felt they didnt care about the service, sometimes the waiter just talked or looked at me, he didnt feel it was a nice attitude and another time giving us a table not very nice, even though the place wasnt full.

Good value for money. The food was fresh and super tasty. Not expensive at all. However, the service was a bit slow and disorganised. We spent 20 minutes for the first course and I hadn't been given my dish when my partner had already finished his. It is a pity too that the place is quite small and you feel yourself to be in a cramped place.

Nice place, but the staff wasn’t too good. I ordered lasagna( in the description was written “ classic meat lasagna with bechamel sauce” , the only lasagna in their menu)and I received a vegetarian lasagna without meat. I ate this one. Was quite good. But when I paid I just asked the waiter about the lasagna he told me that was a normal lasagna with meat. I prefer to don’t repeat.

Beautiful Italian food, family friendly, funny and happy staff. The food tastes home cooked. We were a party of eight and spent a relaxed Sunday afternoon here enjoying our meal. They were good with the children.

There are lots of places to eat along the street where this restaurant is located and we almost chose someplace else. I'm glad we didn't. This place was absolutely delicious and the service was prompt. It was a little strange when I ordered pizza and it didn't come cut in slices, but a simple ask and it was done. Wholly recommend it.

Booked a table for a meal on a very cold Thursday evening where we met up with our son. The food was excellent, very tasty and well cooked. It is perhaps also worth noting that the house red wine was a winner too - and served at the correct temperature! Some of the previous reviews here seem to unfairly criticise the staff. Our experience was that the waiters were courteous, unobtrusive and efficient. In short, professional! When we entered they even knew our name too.I can recommend Cassa Mamma . Thank you

I've been here a number of times and always enjoyed my meal and a glass of Italian beer in here. My friend and I traditionally meet here once or twice a year for a catch up, as this place provides a lovely welcoming atmosphere with great service, tasty food, generous portions and reasonably priced. I love their parma ham with chilled melon for starters! We usually sit on "the balcony" at the back of the restaurant. Well, it's not so much of a balcony, but a massive wall painting of an Italian Rivera - it always makes us smile and helps to imagine that we are somewhere warm and sunny, especially when we come here around Christmas time :)

Very friendly staff, but this might be a consequence of the fact that the manager (or the owner, I didn't check his identity :) ) was around. The place is clean but tiny. The food is fresh and tasty, and the prices are more than OK for London (a sea fruit salad is about 10 Pounds, if I remember correctly). I haven't tried their drinks.

We ignored the bad reviews in favour of a non-chain indie place. Only one other table in there. I ordered lasagna, taglitelle carbonara, 2 garlic pizza bases & we added a mixed salad. I asked for it to come out all together. Mains & salad came & we had to remind him about the garlic pizza bases. We got 1 portion of garlic ciabatta. We asked for the second & do you not do pizza bases? Yes they do. So that came out just as i was finishing a carbonara that was a lot like consumming warm egg mayo. Garlic pizza was bone dry, you had to drizzle in olive oil to eat it & garlic was negligable as was meat in the lasagna apparently. Such a shame, we’re looking for somewhere decent when we go to Kings Place & Mammas isnt it :( Oh! I nearly forgot the coffin nail! When the waiter brought out the garlic pizza base, he says ‘ sorry it was my fault, MAYBE’. Yeah because I easily confuse my pizza bases & ciabattas NOT! Just as I can spot passive agressive when it comes with a side of garlic crisp. Don’t bother, the service is bad, the food average.

Excellent location when you need to eat around the station. The prices are more that reasonable for what you get. I shared a starter and a main and a glass of wine with my girlfriend and they did not complain about it. I highly recommend it, very convenient!
