Reviews of Da Paolo Restaurant
P. C.
It has been a great lunch at Da Paolo, the restaurant is really cozy and the tables are close to each other but it was a great opportunity to chat with both tables that were on the right and left of myself. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff really nice and chatty. I really recommend this restaurant!

We were very impressed with Da Paolo, the food outstanding and service very friendly.
The restaurant is relatively hidden away but clearly popular. We visited on an a Sunday evening and it was just getting busy when we left (we had a table booked at 5.30 after being out all day).
It was good to hear a number of the other clients speaking in Italian and it was also good to see others clearly being well known by the staff.
The food itself was varied and good quality. I had Sardines to start which were lovely and would have been a main course elsewhere. For main courses most of our party had pasta but my wife had a risotto which was very nice indeed. I opted for veal, my picture doesn't do it justice, it was tender and very tasty.
I definitely recommend Da Paolo and will keep it in my list of restaurants to revisit.
J. B.
Really nice little place, perfect for a little date night. Food was lovely with great taste and portion size and prices were fair. Would definitely recommend!

Linguine Rosse e Gamberoni was absolutely delicious. I loved how they served it with lots of garlic and the linguine was perfectly cooked. The calamari was also a delight as well. Would love to revisit the place😁
T. B.
Amazing dinner at Da Paolo restaurant! Fresh seafood, meat and also the best risotto which we ever had! The staff was helpful and friendly. We had perfect time and we will come back soon! Thank you! ❤️🙏🏼❤️
M. Y. C.
Service was good, we were served by Mario. He was chatty and friendly. The pastas were great - portions were large and the seafood was fresh! My friends and I truly enjoyed our meal there. I ordered the fresh truffle pasta which was the specials and it was really good. However, the desserts are a bit underwhelming. Would 100% come again!
G. K.
Very good food. Everything we had was wonderful. Nice vibe and lovely family staff :)

Ate here last night. Don't know where to begin. It was fabulous. The staff were attentive, the food was amazing and authentic. Proper Italian food and atmosphere. Great value for money. Busy wee place and I'm not surprised. From the outside in it was hard to believe I was in London and not Italy. Hope to visit you again on another trip.

Mussels Starter was delicious.
Porchini mushrooms risotto was tasty but very thick and overcooked.
The major issue was at chicken milanese.
It was burned and served upside down like it was hidden
(Does someone thinks that these old tricks can fool the customer? )
Anyway I send it back and they replace it.
As a customer the perfect response would be: Im terrible sorry , let me short it out. A free drink or a snack or olives anything to minimize the waiting time for a WHOLE NEW fried chicken milanese. This is the right approach.
And there wasn't any apologize for the dish.
Anyone deserves to make a mistake. I don't mind. But I don't want them to think that I'm fool .
Thank you.

Great food, geneous portions. Would recommend for anyone who loves Italian. Will defintely come again

Beautiful food, lovely service, no smoking even outside, result 👏

Fantastic familial atmosphere... delicious plate of ravioli and good wine - highly recommend. Will definitely be back with colleagues, family and friends. Thank you Da Paolo!

Had a really lovely lunch here after visiting the British museum. Great food and service. Pasta, soup, salads, deserts all very tasty. I will be going again.
N. W.
Quaint restaurant with charming decor. The food was delicious overall with large portions and good wine. Also the staff was friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service.
Will definitely visit again.
L. M.
Stumbled across this cute cosy restaurant, it was just perfect to sit outside and have a glass of wine, the food for all 7 of us was delicious even for vegetarians! Portions were generous and prices reasonable! Definitely a lucky find!
D. N. T.
Utterly superb. Very warm and friendly, family atmosphere Italian restaurant with excellent, tasty food, beautifully cooked and served. The recommended wine selection by our knowledgeable and attentive waiter was so tasty and so perfect a match with the food dishes.
We were too full to try the desserts, but they looked excellent .
Thank you, thank you, for a very lovely eating experience. It could not have been better!!

Great Italian food. We loved everything we ate. It was super delicious (Caprase salad, Prosciutto and melon for starters and linguine with clams and lasagna. Tiramisu for dessert). We’ll be back for sure.
J. P.
Authentic and great atmosphere with lots of local Italians (always a good sign)
N. L.
Absolutely loved it! Service, food, portions,.. Al 10/10.

The food, wine and service were delightful! Stumbled upon this place by chance and were very happy with the find.
Had bruchetta then a nice big bowl of warming pasta accompanied by some delicious white wine.
Nom nom.

Excellent. Delicious traditional italian cuisine with very friendly staff. This is one our favourite in London.
P. E.
The atmosphere was that of a traditional back street restaurant in Italy. Photographs and furnishings were beautifully arranged to convey this authentic aura.
The food was cooked with love and expertise, the wine was the finest we'd ever tasted and the welcome was warm and friendly but never intrusive.
Very highly recommended!! ❤️

Excellent food. Fresh calamari - very fresh. Gambini with risotto and chilli was tasty and fresh. Also had the seafood risotto and spaghetti pomodoro (but was served spaghetti bolognese). Large ish portions. Good service (ate at 1745 so not busy).
Good intimate Italian. Recommended.
P. P.
I have been at least two times already to the restaurant. I love the decoration of the restaurant, the staff is engaging and treat you quite well, finally they have a good selection of wines and dishes.

I decided to make a second trip into town to catch up on past experiences. Last week was Chinatown and this week it was Fitzrovia. Many years ago Charlotte Street was full of classic French and Italian restaurants but many have gone and today I fancied Italian food alfresco and remembered DaPaolo. Went there over 20 years ago one evening and it was good. Today was also a good day to go. Had a simple meal of ravioli with sea bass and bread and oil. Just perfect. I noticed two things; diners enjoying themselves and many speaking Italian to the staff. Will be back again soon.
J. T.
Really cosy, great service. The goats cheese salad and sausage risotto was gorgeous. The calamari wasn't great, I think they forgot to take off the sinue before cooking.
Still highly recommend this place overall
A. M.
Love the pasta here very much! They are made to perfection. Taste of each dish is so authentic and well-balanced. Friendly service, good atmosphere.
J. Y.
This is a lovely restaurant on a nice little street. The three stars are all for the food, which was very nice. Good portions sizes and tasty ingredients. (Only small fault I could give on the food was the Lasagne was not hot enough, it was only just acceptably warm in the middle - for me Lasagne should be served bubbling hot in the dish). The two lost stars are for the seating. Initially we were seated close by the door, but then moved by another member of staff saying it would be better and less drafty downstairs. We were then seated under the air-con unit. Twice the waitress was asked if she could turn it down etc. Which on the second time she tried, but we were still left with the blast of cold air on and off. (She should have tried turned the swing function off to direct it upwards) . Other than this, a lovely little restaurant which I can see other reviewers easily giving 5 star.
S. E.
Gorgeous romantic little Italian restaurant ❤️ Authentic, fresh, hand made delicious dishes. Charm, heritage and warmth. It's a lovely spot. I had a quick lunch and though expensive it's just fabulous service and food... I'm going for valentines day so I'll keep you posted!
J.
Me and my partner love the place. It is very cosy, nice old black&white pictures on the walls, great Italian staff - two nice gentlemans who are always polite and attentive. Once when visiting there was an Italian lady who suggested a really great wine to our meal.
Food is excellen! We like to order meat or fish selection to share. Last time I tried risotto and it was amazing. All snacks and starters are very tasty. Highly recommended! On a weekend they are very busy, so you must make a booking in advance.
T. T.
Vintage setting with old black and white photos on the walls. Small upper level with just enough room to not feel cramped. Food was fresh and authentic. Portions are large and filling with great flavor. Server talked is out of side/appetizers for entrees were going to be late and wanted to make sure we would eat and enjoy them. That showed me they are honest and take pride in their food preparation. Had the veal scaloppine milanese with spaghetti followed by a delicious creme brulee. Wife and daughter had the linguine with lobster and other shellfish not over cooked but unable to finish the linguine looking forward to the desserts. Daughter had the chocolate something cake with ice cream which she enjoyed very much. Not sure what my wife got but looked like some ice cream with coffee poured on top, was enjoying my creme brulee to care! Will go back if we have the chance.
M. M.
Delicious food, friendly staff and very nice atmosphere, feels like home 🏡highly recommended! 😊 We got 3 meals for two people for only £30!
M. P.
An authentic and very genuine Italian restaurant, well reviewed and deservedly so.
Firstly, the portion sizes are fairly large for main course and there’s a superb selection of pasta and seafood dishes, including swordfish and monkfish.
The starters are, again, superb. The restaurant is tucked away down a pedestrian area. Very welcoming owner and staff and a real taste of Italy. Very highly recommended.
P. D.
Amazing Sunday evening. Food was fantastic. We had an amazing time by service food and atmosphere.
V. P.
Incredibly cozy place where you can enjoy delicious food with a friend and good service. I recommend it to anyone who loves delicious food, served with smile in a amazing atmosphere
K. M.
Really nice restaurant, authentic Italian. Pasta was great and tiramisu was excellent. Note this is a rather small restaurant so for big companies you'll probably have to be seated on the below ground level. Will go back to try the rest of the dishes. Prices were very reasonable.
T. M. (.
One of the best I personally visited. Super service, super staff, huge portions, Italian music, romantic atmosphere, cosy interior.
R. R.
Great wine. Lovely Italian dishes.
The service is amazing!
R. F.
Delicious food, and great service! Its compact & cosy, but that only adds to the atmosphere. Great wines too, and knowledgeable waiters. We'll definitely be going back one day...
s. s.
Great experience, excellent service, delicious food.
A small place of original Italian food. Recommend!
E.
Great seafood and service! Good wine and ambiance. Highly recommended if you’re looking for good Italian food. Huge portion too, great value.
R. M.
Beautiful little restaurant, friendly atmosphere, the staff were lovely, very helpful. The food was amazing, I had the Gnocchi, my wife had Risotto, my daughter had a ragu. Absolutely spot on, the food was delicious, we couldn't fault it at all. We didn't drink but they do have a fine and varied selection of wine and spirits. It's a busy restaurant so you will need to book a table in advance.
Hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I did.
J. G.
Wonderful restaurant for a family reunion after 20 months apart. The atmosphere was great and the service was perfect - unnoticeable. We felt like we could've been in Italy. Be warned though because the portion sizes are huge (not a problem for me). Everything was fantastic about our evening and we walked out delighted with a bellyful of tasty food. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Will visit again and again and again👌🙂 (booked in for October)
Т. Х.
Great setting, atmosphere and service. It really does feel cosy and authentic - the dining room is small and the portions are big, you get the feeling like they really try to make sure you have a good time. The food however, is just alright. The risotto seemed somewhat overcooked and saltimbomcca felt a little dry. Nice experience overall but the food isn’t great.
A.
Came out with my girlfriend yesterday and had an amazing time! The owner is so nice and all the staff were amazing and so polite! Can’t wait to come back. The atmosphere was cosy and warm🙏🏾
S. S.
One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Romantic and cosy atmosphere place that we love to visit every time we come to London. Crab salad is my favourite dish here and Tiramisu is definitely one of the best here. It is not the cheapest one but this restaurant has offered us the best Italian food and service in our opinion. Well done.
P. Y.
Classical Italian Restaurant with Great Food (large portions), Great Atmosphere, and Great Service. Manageress Valentina was a Great Host!!
A. C.
Fantastic food and superb service! A hidden intimate Italian gem of a restaurant in London. Seafood/Meats/Vege/desserts everyone can be catered for! The dishes taste fresh and rich in flavour and you will not be disappointed with the generous portion sizes
J. D. V.
Great food, great selection of wine and amazing service. Definitely recommend it.
J. J.
What a find! Loved this place - great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. What more could you ask for? .Would definitely return.
S. M.
This restaurant is an absolute gem.
The service was outstanding and the food was authentic, comforting and delicious.
This has quickly become one of my favourite restaurants. I can't wait to go back.
J. O.
Traditional, family run Italian restaurant. The food is good, but the portions are huge. Great service.
R. C.
Lovely restaurant. Great food and friendly staff!
S. S.
Wow, absolutely amazing, best meal we've had in ages. Absolutely loved it, outstanding food, beautiful restaurant with such a lovely atmosphere and the staff were just amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough, we'll be back as soon as we can! ❤️

Da Paolo is an amazing place! It is tucked away down the side street giving you great privacy and a great atmosphere. The staff are 10/10 attentive and friendly, we have been here a few times and always have a nice conversation with everyone working. The Food, the food is absolutely Italian and filled with such amazing flavors! We are always happy from starter to dessert. Go here for some real Italian flavor and feel. Ciao.
D. S.
The perfect venue for a hearty and authentic Italian meal. The service is impeccable, and the cooking is on another level. The ambience is serene and the restaurant is intimate and cosy, perfect place for a meal with friends and family (would make an awesome date spot too 😉)
m. y.
The place is a true authentic italian. It is so cozy and warm which is perfect for dating or celebrations. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The food was perfection with a proper italian wine list to choose from.
C. S.
As a local, I love to support local businesses. I ate here recently and was disappointed, I'm sorry to say.
The price against the quality of food is my main concern. The prices are very premium, but the standard of flavour and ingredients is not correspondingly high.
I wish the restaurant well and would love them to improve.
A. M.
Lovely Italian restaurant, we had a night in London and fancied going to an Italian. This place wasn't to far from the hotel we stayed at so after a couple of drinks at a cocktail bar just around the corner called Mr foggs we arrived at the restaurant at about 6-45. The restaurant it self is a small place but with loads of charm and you could imagine that you're in Rome. The staff were very friendly and helpful and Italian which is good and adds to the authentic atmosphere. The food was fantastic and everyone in our group really enjoyed it, I had the mussels to start which came in a tomato and garlic sauce and the 12oz steak for main and it was cooked perfectly. The only words of caution I would give is the starter's are large so if you're not a big eater ask for a smaller portion or share one also the don't do pizzas . Buy about 8ish the restaurant had filled up and the atmosphere was full of laughter and chat and people just enjoying the evening. I would certainly recommend this place if you fancy that authentic Italian restaurant.
J. B.
Very friendly staff. Nice food and great portions. Worth a visit.
W. T.
This restaurant is a real gem. I visited with three friends and colleagues. We ordered a caprese appetizer and I had the porcini risotto, which was phenomenal, and presented with style. The bill for the four of us (including a split appetizer and a bottle of wine for the table) rounded out to about £100. Well worth the visit.
张.
I think it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in London! Highly recommend it!
N. U.
AMAZING!! The staff were incredible and so really made sure you were comfortable and felt welcomed. I sat outside when I ate here on their outside chairs and it was so nice and the atmosphere was so chilled out, but still felt luxurious as the waiter would come up to you and the inside was also sort of fancy. They had toilets there too which was good. The food was sooooooo delicious, fresh and very filling!
E. S.
An authentic Italian dish.
This restaurant always uses the best ingredients in their food. I enjoyed eating a plate of delicious pasta al dente.
E. P.
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, lovely staff. Thank you for a wonderful evening! Highly recommend the gnocchi.
j. A.
Wonderful experience the food was perfectly done and most of all the waiter was super friendly thanx Mario 🙏🏽
C. R.
My wife and I had a delicious dinner last night at Da Paolo. In this age of chains and Anglicised versions of everything it was lovely to have some authentic Italian cooking in a rather special atmosphere. This cosy little restaurant in a quiet mews off Charlotte Street has everything a restaurant should have - great cooking, lovely service and a good atmosphere.
I had the tagliolini, a very fine spaghetti with a Bottarga dressing. This is a kind of Italian caviar - mullet eggs dried with salt to make a crumbly salty/fishy mixture which when mixed into some pasta with olive oil makes an outstanding plate. My wife had ravioli stuffed with a sea bass and king prawn mixture - just delicious.
All in all, a great restaurant.
D. S.
Great little family run restaurant. Good honest good but watch out for the starters they can be a little large.
G. H.
Very good food. Amazingly busy, need to book.
Y. S.
Great Italian food, reasonably priced, will definitely visit again
A. W.
Great italian food amazing service very attentive to there customers full of flavour
M. K.
What a lovely little find tucked away down a side street. Very friendly, welcoming staff and a homely Italian feel. The restaurant was vibrant and full but service was very efficient and our drinks, starters and food were all served quickly. My partners ragu was delicious and my aubergine penne was full of flavour. Would highly recommend 👌🏼
F. V.
A lovely local restaurant serving good quality Italian food.
M. M.
Beautiful cosy ambiance, great staff and delicious Italian food.
P. V.
Great service, very friendly staff, a fab range of dishes to suit everyone and the portions are big, so you won't be disappointed! I would go back. It was packed so seemed like a popular place. Definitely check it out!
A. K.
Loved the lamb shank. It was a special though, check with the restaurant before going in to try this in particular.
R. B.
A lovely, cozy restaurant, taking you from busy London to a smalltown family restaurant somewhere in Italy...
Very friendly and attentive staff, great food. Definitely a place to return to.
T. C.
Very welcoming and helpful. Extremely generous portions too.
N. D.
Very good freshly-prepared food. Delicious al dente vegetables. Beware - large portions! Lamb steak is perfectly cooked but the size of half a sheep. Excellent wines and terrific & v helpful staff. Pleased to see this family business has survived Covid. Worth a detour.
E. D.
I had a really good late lunch. Mario was amazing, very professional and friendly. Definitely I’ll be back and I recommend this restaurant for who you love cozy places and tasty pasta.
A. B.
The food was really delicious and staff were so kind. But they don't tell you before you order that there is a 12.5% service charge which isn't optional!! I probably have to eat tesco cup noodles for the rest of the week to make up for the dent in my wallet 😭😭
M. L.
Friendly service, good food and enjoyable place altogether.
T. Y.
Tasty, large portion. Tiramisu is highlight. Service...so Italian 😝
C. O.
A lovely space with wonderful staff and service, they could not have been nicer.. The food was good and decent portions but maybe slightly lacking in seasoning and sauces.. Great desserts though!
K. f. a. d.
When you say "a little Italian restaurant" this is exactly the picture you conjure up. Cosy without being cramped. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. My tip is arrive hungry because they are going to fill you up.
M. M.
Lovely little italien resteraunt it is a little gem hidden in London. The portion sizes are huge. Might want to come with an empty stumouch if you want a dessert.
a. s.
Tucked away on a small London street, Da Paolo is a place you'll want to come back to. Food is very generous, and the service is very friendly!
The decor is very typical of a small Italian restaurant with pictures all over the space, and a downstairs space for some extra space.
Ps: share a tiramisu when you visit!
M. B.
One of the best experience!!!great food and very nice staff
M. R.
Great food & wine at reasonable prices.
F. F.
Consistently good value. Good quality food with generous portions . The only downside is the closeness of the tables. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
J. Z.
Nice authentic Italian restaurant. Perfect to get away from all the fancy and mainstream London venues.
S. L.
Delicious starter (parma ham and melon), lasagne and chef special tuna steak were also brilliant. Nice atmosphere and service too
N. P.
Great experience, food was excellent and fast service.
L. T.
We found this place completely by chance and are so glad that we did! The food was absolutely amazing, service was top notch, staff were lovely and it was such an authentic experience. Please please please eat here rather than the italian chains nearby; they need the custom more and the food is so much better. Love love love. Will be returning for sure!
X. P.
Excellent service, very good atmosphere and very good food
A. B.
The best Italian restaurant in London and the service it’s so good
A. F.
Lovely food but very small upstairs with tables very close together
C. I.
Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff and great food.
R. S.
Delicious home cooked Italian food, in great spot just off Oxford St. My daughter and I loved every meal! All waiting staff friendly and helpful 🙂 highly recommend, we will be back!
R. G.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food. We were given a table in the corner for a nice romantic meal would highly recommend 5*
J. G.
Fabulous! Great neighbourhood feel to the place. The Primitivo wine was exceptional.
Food highlights were the prawns to start and the Amatriciana pasta which was ordered on request and perfectly cooked.
Best Italian I’ve been to in London.
M. G.
Extremely large portions. Typical Italian cuisine, lots of choice and the portions were very generous. Starters, main and desert was very nice. Wine was good and a few cheeky brandys helped too. Overall, very nice meal. Old school but nice
M. B.
First visit here and really enjoyed it. The portions are .massive on every dish I saw coming out. That includes starters and mains. The special was delicious, a wild boar pasta. It was full at lunch time so you should probably book a table so as not to be disappointed. It's been running over 25years so clearly they are doing something right.
M. E.
Super food and atmosphere one of the best outside Italy!
m. w.
Another date night. We hadn't planned to visit this restaurant so we did not know what to expect.
The restaurant is tiny so it's probably best to visit early or book a table. It all looks a little cramped with the obligatory black and white framed photographs of exquisitely dressed 'la dolce vita' models and mopeds. However, do not let the lack of decorative imagination influence you. The menu is perfect and it takes little effort to choose a beautiful three course meal. The wine list is expertly picked too. We chose fish, cooked to perfection with squid ink pastas. The staff are happy to accommodate all tastes and needs and are aware of allergies. It's worrying that so many restaurants still lack this knowledge. The staff are quiet but attentive and you rely on the diners to provide the atmosphere but since the restaurant is so good on every other level, the patrons will be in the right sort of mood to do this. I will definitely go there again.
n.
Every member of staff was really friendly and accommodating, and the food was amazing. Brilliant little restaurant.
L. D.
Sandro is the best waitress! He is to gently and kind! Thank you for everything! We will be back soon!
G. I.
Amazing food &very generous portion size
A. B.
Absolutley fantastic experience. The food is extremely good. the service is really pleasant and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone whether you are a Londoner or a visiting tourist. Thank you Da Paolo.
R. D.
Excellent restaurant, very nice food and warm atmosphere. I recommend the wild boar pasta.
F. V.
Perhaps the best gnocchi I've ever had, and tastiest dish I've had out in very long time. Portion sizes are very generous and I have a pretty big appetite. Very reasonably priced for some dishes, more expensive for others. My gnocchi was £12.95 for a huge plate of pure deliciousness!! Couple that with a £20 bottle of wine (to share😅) and I think you'd be hard pressed to get a better value meal in London! I want to stress just how tasty the gnocchi was 😄
The decor is lovely and it's a very warm, cosy, and generally delightful little restaurant. Courteous, friendly and attentive staff.
I will definitely be back!
J. a.
This place was suggested by my colleague when I moved to London. The atmosphere is cozy with clean table cloth. The food is great, and portions are generous. We were always treated very well. It is not fine dine, more like lovely home made Italian food that puts big smile on your face. The service could be bit faster.
A. D.
Excellent food. Generous (big) portions
V. M.
The food was great and the portion of the pasta was very decent compared to what you get in central London for the same price. Very cozy ambiance and nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Л. В.
Good food and very nice service as well! 😊
B. H.
The best restaurant in CENTRAL LONDON ITALIAN FOOD
ע. פ.
Amazing food, amazing service, just great fun and highly highly recommended.thank you it was a pleasure.

Sheer delight! This small, friendly and comfortable gem is a little hidden away. It's reminiscent of 'real restaurants' with a genuinely friendly atmosphere, deliciously cooked fresh food and an original decor and ambience. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two or for a great meal with your very best friends. Simply wonderful.
E. D.
This place is a local institution. I cannot recommend it highly enough, Carlos is ever so welcoming. Try the daily specials. They never fail to impress.
I. E. H.
Very friendly and cozy athmosphere. Was fully booked but we got a table after the owner ran out again after us and asked us to wait 5 min since one booking was late. After checking with them (they were going to be more than 30 min late) he gave us a table. Very nice! Good Italian food! We all had the lamb steak and it was very nicely grilled with proper grilled flavour. Potatos were great! And generous of veggies just lightly steamed so still crisp (and not soggy). Very generous portion. Only missed a little sauce, like a red wine sauce or something. Nice efficcient service and generally a very good experience! Thank you!
K. T.
The best was the chocolate cake with ice cream!
S.
Good food and nice atmosphere and a nice staff
S. W.
Lovely food, beautifully cooked. Nice restaurant and staff. Large portions.
A. W.
A real old school Italian restaurant. Is it confused between its 25 and 30th anniversary? Yes. Does it serve delicious food and wine? Also yes!
E. M.
Lovely little place with hearty Italian food and nice wine. The only thing that has been a disappointment was the waiter refusing to add more than one teaspoon of parmesan to our pasta...we had to ask a different waiter for more cheese...
C. H.
Absolutely delicious food from beginning of the meal to the end! We like the restaurant so much that this a return visit! The service and ambience are top notch too! Will be dropping by again when next in London!!
B. J.
Incredible little cutsie Italian. All the food is very fresh, and very generous portions! All the staff are Incredibly friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back - Highly recommend !
D. C.
Good food and lots of it (probably too much) Really friendly staff. Decent value for money.
E. L.
Lovely food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff

I actually enjoyed this nicely tucked away Italian speaking staff restaurant. The internal environment did remind me a lot about Italy. The staff including the owner was great and really catered for their customers with a good portion on the plate. I have rated this place 5 stars but the I think the food could be slightly better.
H. K.
Very large portions, can be pretty overpowering. Quality of the meat not great. Still cozy place in the neighbourhood.
C. P.
Had a superb meal last night ,massive portion, very tasty and the service was excellent 👌. Will definitely return 😋
L. H.
This is a wonderful little restaurant, very friendly and attentive staff and excellent food. We really enjoyed our meal , excellent Italian cuisine. Nice and quiet atmosphere no loud music blaring out in the background. Great place to eat after a West End theatre matinee.
L. T.
A beautiful quaint hidden gem of a restaurant. Wonderful waiters and great food from the starters to the dessert.
Ambient atmosphere which is ideal for dates.
I have been here a few times now and it always leave me wanting to come back for more
L. H.
This is one of the best italians and one of my fave places to eat in all of london! The portions and huge and reasonably priced. All the food is delicious and the staff are very sweet. It has a really traditional italian family restaurant vibe
B. l.
Fine Italian food, shame about the service, though only by one particular waiter, who made us feel unwanted. We had not booked but did not expect any problems at 5.45pm but were told they were very busy and we could only have the table until 6.30pm. The food was good and the other waiters more than made up for the rudeness. The restaurant was still half empty and the downstairs had not even been opened.
A. D.
Special place! Not at all pretentious - excellent food, very friendly staff and a nice, easy-going atmosphere.
A. S.
Oh my days, I cannot even start, everything about this place is so well done, such good vibes, such amazing food! Very very good ambiance, service is exceptional, makes you feel very cosy. The dessert is indescribable, it is the best cheesecake I’ve tasted in my life. I rmbr being so full to the point where my stomach hurt but I still wanted to finish that cheesecake. Will definitely go again.
A. K.
Excellent Italian restaurant with beautiful and delicious food. As if I have visited Italy without leaving London. My Italian friend approves as well and this is telling, as he is a very fussy eater!
L. W.
The restaurant is quite expensive, but has an arrangement with top table making our dinner considerably more affordable. The food was very nice and the staff were very accommodating for the dietary needs of the party. The ambience deliberately strives to evoke the feeling of a traditional family run Italian restaurant with black and white photos wall to wall. The feel is warm and cosy.
H. P.
Went there last night for a family celebration dinner. The food, wine and service were all impeccable. Excellent all round. So friendly and made us welcome and comfortable. Will deffo return.
S. J.
No name wine of poor quality 7 pounds not even a name. A glass of milk 2,95 pounds plus service charge of 13 %. Lobster was rubbery maybe a day or two old. Large sized portion though. I do not see why its so popular. There are many better italian places to go to that are more value for money than this one.
M. O.
I'd love to be able to write a good review, but they refused us service. We arrived around 9:15 PM, and were taken to a table (one of three then available), but when we ordered dessert (we were there for dessert, coffee and drinks), they refused service and gave us the bill, admonishing us that we didn't tell them we were dessert only. We paid for my drink and Laura's sparkling water, but before we left, two other tables left. They had five empty tables, and two very unhappy costumers. Very poor customer service by any international standards.
M. C.
Nice italian restaurant. Had the bruschetta with mushrooms as a starter, very nice, huge portion. The sirloin steak was not good though. Not tender at all, I guess not the best quality meat. Potatoes on the side overcooked in too much oil and had been heated up, clearly having been cooked at least a couple of hours before. All in all rather disappointing for £24. Would definitely not have the steak again. My partner had great spaghetti vongole though. Service was ok.
H. S.
I wanted a restaurant which was cosy, no loud music so six of us could all talk together without shouting, low warm lighting, very good food and I got all that I wanted at Da Paolo. The West End is sadly changing with more and more chains but this place took me back to the good old days, such a lovely restaurant, go!
A. S.
The atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly and nice. However, the food was quite average: it was good but not enough to say fantastic. The wine and spirit list is rather pricey.
D. K.
Very lovely/cosy place and very tasty food. You can tell the food was fresh and made from scratch, couldn't fault anything. I'll deffinitely be coming back :)
B. N.
Cute little place, and they were extremely kind to let me sit down super late on. Thursday night and still serve me.
The pasta was properly al dente, and the ragu sauce was a solid choice.
I would love to try more of their food considering how polite everyone was, but being so late they asked that I stick to pastas as the kitchen was looking to close soon.
Would absolutely come back again.
J. C.
Typical noisy, cramped Italian. Massive helpings at good prices.
B. L.
Lovely staff, great food!

Another date night. We hadn't planned to visit this restaurant so we did not know what to expect.
The restaurant is tiny so it's probably best to visit early or book a table. It …
N. L.
Delicious food and the staff was super warm and welcoming
C. H.
Absolutely delicious food from beginning of the meal to the end! We like the restaurant so much that this a return visit! The service and ambience are top notch too! Will be dropping by again when next in London!!
J. a.
This place was suggested by my colleague when I moved to London. The atmosphere is cozy with clean table cloth. The food is great, and portions are generous. We were always treated very well. It is not fine dine, more like lovely home made Italian food that puts big smile on your face. The service could be bit faster.
V. C.
So good finding this hidden gem. Quite pricey. Big portions. You won't leave hungry. Great wine. Lovely family run business. Authentic Italian
m.
Good taste restaurant
E. F.
Best Italian seafood in London!
Super kind service and unreachable good quality.
Y. P.
Came over this restaurant by chance, once walking on Goodge street, very nice area to sit outside in summer.
The overall menu, is standard Italian type cuisine, with choices of starters, pasta and etc. The main dishes of fish and meat. As for Central London, the menu with main dish, water, and coffee was around 30bp (tips were included).
The steak was prepared properly from fine quality meat, but the side vegetables were disappointing (carrots and peas, i prefer grilled tomatoes and aubergine with my steak).
The service was very good, the espresso was high quality. Overall vey satisfied. Beside was sitting a couple, having b-day dinner - and restaurant staff brought out the cake with candle (shows nice personal touch, as the cake was made by man) - very romantic!
Overall very positive. The restaurant is very close to Oxford Street.
C. A.
One of the best lunches I've had in a while!
Traditional, family run Italian. Great service with a personal touch and amazing authentic food.
Would recommend!
P. F.
What a blast from the past. Ever watch the BBC show Ashes to Ashes? This is the same, transported back to the 1980s feel.
I don't want that to sound like a negative thing - it's actually very charming. The owners appear to be family, and have a sort of forced jollity that tells me they probably throw knives at each other in the basement. Joking aside, there is a friendly "family" atmosphere, and it's welcoming and cosy.
I visited in winter, so the outside seating wasn't an option. The interior was cosy, with roses on the table (perfect as I was on a date), and the waiter was friendly without being overbearing.
I just wish I could be more optimistic about the food. The portions are enormous, but sadly, the flavour isn't great. I had a large meaty pasta dish, and my date had the swordfish - both were, sadly, uninspiring. I declined an after dinner Limoncello, but looking back, perhaps a palate cleanser would have been a good idea!
Go if you hanker after the lost days of family run Italians in Soho with good prices and kitsch décor. If it's quality Italian cuisine you're after, maybe look elsewhere.
A. S.
Big group meal in the basement. Pre ordered courses. Servings were large but then the food was so good I couldn't leave any! The tiramasu was reported to be delicious but seeing the portion was the size of half a house brick, I am glad I stuck with the delicious wine.
B. B.
Great restaurant with good service and lovely food. Only negative, and a real pity, was the "crazy" rule which penalises larger groups, by stating only a max. of 4 people can have the 3 course set menu!!! A bit of a problem and embarrasing if you have 5 or more in your group - why? Remove it now!
V. C.
So good finding this hidden gem. Quite pricey. Big portions. You won't leave hungry. Great wine. Lovely family run business. Authentic Italian
S. G.
Da Paolo is amazing. I live across the street and have visited a couple of times with my friends. The crabmeat pasta is incredible. Very authentic, lovely place. Highly recommend. I am missing it already.
J.
The food is absolutely excellent, fresh, authentically Italian and definitely worth the price. I aspecially recommend the Mashroom Rizzoto. Very good place for those that went to Italy and want to feel like they're there again.
M. L.
Good ambiance and service but the food was bland, uninteresting and expensive. Good portion size 'though.
A. L.
Amazing, authentic and cozy little italian restaurant.
Always a great experience, the food is absolutely amazing.
It has a couple table outside for a hot summer day, and inside is really cozy.
S. K.
The food was good (not outstanding), but the portions are huge, so be careful how much you order. Also, it's certainly on the pricey side. Not much change from £100 for dinner and drinks for two.
A. B.
Great food and service. The portions are generous and the menu is excellent. Not a big place which adds to the personal touch. 5 stars👍
J. L.
Lovely meal , very cosy restaurant. We had one course and a drink. There was a service charge on the bill ( not keen on these) I would rather give my own tip rather than being told how much to pay.
K. C.
Really good food and the portions were very generous and very affordable. The staff were very friendly, it was quite empty however which made the atmosphere a bit awkward...
L. J.
Great atmosphere and lots of menu choice. Portions a little large I found. Food was really good but not mind blowing.
M. A.
