The setting is really nice, the food is delicious. the menu is limited which is a good sign as Philippe Etchebest (French Chef) would say. the dessert the tiramisu is excellent.

I have been to Grato few times this summer and love the food - Warm Prawn Salad, Burrata, Tagliolini Crab, Truffle Pasta, Sea Bass and PannaCotta!!! I’ve had the tiramisu which is very good the owner tells me the menu is seasonal! the ingredients are high quality, food is fresh and finger licking delicious Service is attentive and knowledgeable - you can tell the owners and staff are passionate about their restaurant and customers!! A charming delight in Kensington definitely recommend it!!

Amazing, went on a Saturday night and booked last minute. We were not sure what to expect but it was amazing!! Service was really fast and the food was insane the best Italian food I've ever had and my girlfriend I was with said it was better than Italian food she has had in Italy!! Will definitely be going back and the staff were lovely to and very friendly ☺️

Just had a fantastic meal at Grato! Pietro is the best. We walk in and he’s offering to hang our jackets for us, great service from a man who really appreciates us being there. Food was outstanding! Super tasty flavors and fresh ingredients. House special red wine from Sicily that was excellent. Everything was great. Christiano took care of our every need. I will definitely be a regular here.

Went here with my boyfriend last night. We had run into this place not knowing what to expect. This restaurant has the best Italian food i have ever had. Whether you are a local or a tourist Grato is a must. Make sure you get an espresso martini!

Very poor service. The food was very good, but I was rushed out. Told that "there was nothing but veal and fish" (the two most expensive items), then heard at least three tables order pasta after me. Really a shame because the kitchen was great. Just was treated very poorly and practically forced into order food that I didn't want. Thank you for your response and I have no remorse. It was very good food as I mentioned above. I'm updating my stars to reflect that. On the other hand, I specifically was told when ordering pasta that there was none. I then asked if there were any from the above pasta list and was again told no.

I made a booking for 12 friends somewhat last minute, and the experience was wonderful! Everyone loved their dishes, such delicious appetizers and pasta dishes and nice intimate but lively ambiance sitting at the long table downstairs. Sue helped manage the orders and the experience since days before the booking, and on the day making sure everyone was happy with their choices. I would really recommend Grato whether you are going for a nice date or with friends :)

A delightful experience in this small family owned restaurant. Warm and very rapid service, tasty food ( we had and exquisite crab pasta, the burrata, the warm shrimp salad and the veal ) but most of all the team provided their customers with a lovely dining experience. Went there a few months ago bc of the review, turned out to be a disappointment. The meal started nicely with an avocado&shrimp salad, however the main dishes were what made the meal average(or slightly above average). When the bill came to us it was nearly 30pound pp without any alcoholic drinks only orange juice. So not a bad place for a meal at all, it has this nice and private atmosphere, but the food quality should be improved somehow to make our money worth it.

The wine of the month is a great idea and we enjoyed a lovely 2016 Syrah from Lazio. Not to be missed if you’re in the Kensington area.

The real Italian food! We ordered Prosciutto di Parma as a starter, Rigatoni Salciccia, Veal Scaloppine as main dishes with a good Italian wine and Tiramisu(please try this) as a dessert. All dishes are really great. We thought we were in Italy. We definitely recommand!

What a delightful find! The restaurant is located near a really nice square in Kensington. Independent italian restaurant serving food made with quality ingredients. Friendly and ambient setting with attentive service. Generous portion of fresh home made pasta. Sourdough bread with such creamy burrata for starter and tiramisu is a must have! Having recently returned from living in Italy for 8 years, I highly recommend this fabulous restaurant in Kensington Square (behind Wholefoods). I had perfectly cooked asparagus followed by exceptional pumpkin ravioli. I have to say it is probably the best ravioli I have ever eaten (inside and outside of Italy). Nestled in this corner facing Kensington Square I nearly walked past it contemplating with a friend where to dine! Viola! I was pleasantly surprised walking into this newly renovated restaurant with two beautiful large lamps emitting a soft inviting light leads you inside. We had the Asparagus (delicate flavour) Burrata and a platter of Affetati Misti. For my mains I had the Gnocchi with fresh morels - was perfect all topped with a bottle of Prosecco. The owner mentioned they have a private party area downstairs - I had a glance and the space had stucco on the walls and a large oak table with other tables - very intimate setting for a dinner party. Definitely will go back.

We were greeted warmly and served quickly. We almost felt like we were pressed for time. As it's a small local they want to serve as many clientele as possible, which doesn't make for a cozy atmosphere for a dinner. Otherwise we were happy with everything.
