My favourite Italian by far. A hidden gem or maybe not as it is supper popular. Amazing food, pizzas are the best in London, I have not found anywhere better except when in Rome. The Restaurant is cozy, relaxed and a good atmosphere. As for the service, the staff are brilliant and in particular Alina!!! Thank you for always taking care of us and providing a great experience!

It is a very cozy and familiar Italian restaurant. The food is exquisite, the ideal atmosphere to share with family or friends, the prices are reasonable and the attention to customers is magnificent. The restaurant does not offer alcoholic drinks, but for £1 per person you can bring your own and accompany your favorite meal. Totally recommended!!

Nice traditional Italian food - bring your own booze - quite pricy considering what I ate - garlic pizza (shared) and Lasagne with lots of tomato and not much else. (Not much meat, pasta or cheese) - very nice, friendly service

My family and went to La Rugoletta after lots of recommendations from locals in the area. We were not disappointed at all. The BYOB was very nice and helped bring down the cost of a very nice meal. Each one of us ordered different pastas and they were all very tasty! Do yourself a favor and go and enjoy a nice local and intimate italian restaurant.

Great local Italian restaurant, worth to visit. They make amazing pastas and pizzas. To make it better allow to bring own alcohol and charge only 1£ per person to allow drinking. Love this place!

This is a lovely family restaurant tucked away from the main road. It is friendly and cosy, with excellent food. Highly recommended!

This is a small local restaurant which serves amazing Italiab food. The place is not licenced to sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own or there is a shop nearby that has a reasonable collection of wines. I tend not to book and always get a table. It is popular with locals especially for collections of pizzas. Attached is a pic of the calzone that I had for lunch cooked for perfection. Place is open on Sundays during summer.

Lovely local Italian restaurant, bring your own wine. Good food, simple authentic decor. Good at lunchtime to meet friends for a long lunch. Open in the evening and has take away.

Just finished an excellent meal at Il Piccolo Villaggio on Monday 31st August (last day of Eat Out to Help Out deal) it was PACKED, still sitting tables at nearly 10pm. The waitresses were running to keep up with all the number of customers and they did a FANTASTIC job in very challenging circumstances. The food was unbelievable, very generous portions and extremely fresh and tasty, every dish we had was better than the last, finishing with the Tiramisu which was one of the best I’ve ever had. Of course it was phenomenal value with the 50% off deal but with the portion size and quality the price is very good. We didn’t know it was BYOB but we’ll know next time. Waitresses were lovely, it’s only a small restaurant inside as it was very busy it was understandably quite loud but we very much enjoyed our dinner and will be back again!

We arrived at this place for dinner. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was a winning. we were warmly welcomed by the crew and we had an excellent feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. Keep it up.

Sorry to say but my four stars regard the time before the covid lockdown. Now it is rather deserted at the time of my being in there 3 pm. They do orders to take home. Me and my friend had tea and cannoli indoors. Service is quick and pleasant. Everything is clean and you have access to hand disinfectant. We didn't need to use WC. Matter of personal taste but I had better cannoli. Best of all was to see the cook having his break to eat and a plate full of pasta with some sauce and fresh basil reminded me of Italy, and how much I miss Tuscany. I'm guessing they are full in the evening as they are popular and food I had in there on previous occasions was good. When they full it is a bit noisy and forget about intimacy. It is a vibrant place with tasty Italian food.

We have been coming here for years and are still super excited every time we decide to visit. The pasta dishes are delicious and David's pizzas are as good as any I have eaten anywhere in the world including Italy! These days our 2 year old talks all the time about "going to Marina's restaurant". Her favourite is Tagliolini al Granchio just like her mum. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

This restaurant is perfect! Some of the best Italian food in North London! I agree the atmosphere is not relaxing or perfect, but that's the charm. If you have ever eaten in a local restaurant in Italy, you will understand that this is how it all works. Amazing quality food and just generally a great evening for you and your friends/family. I really advise this restaurant!!!!!

Visited here for valentine's. We actually meant to book the other Rugoletta in Finchley which we pass everyday, but what a pleasant mistake this was! The food was delicious, very traditional, fresh and generous in portions too. The restaurant was completely packed, so a little cramped but made it feel very cosy and like we were in an Italian home! We'll definitely be back to this hidden gem again soon, and this time on purpose!

Great pizza and great calzone, and super fast service! I'm looking forwards to coming back. I hear the sea bass is amazing and I definitely want to try it. The pasta looks great too! Just so you know: this is a bring your own, so there's no wine or beer on the menu, which is great IMHO.

Great little Italian restaurant in a back street near East Finchley centre. Good quality food. Reasonable prices. You take your own wine so that makes the meal very affordable. The only minor criticism is that they have tried to fit in so many tables that it feels a bit crowded. Overall lovely ambience though.

Rustic cafe style pasta pizza etc. Just had mains decided not to have anything else, desserts did not really tempt. Quite tasty but unrefined menu. No licence so staff suggested we cross the road to small off licence/general store for wine or beer. Charged corkage for two cans of beer! Very friendly helpfull staff.

This place was packed, very popular, with a great atmosphere. In my opinion the menu is too big, I ordered Hawaiian style pizza which had tinned pineapple, sickly sweet, should not be on the menu at all if they don't want to make it; I know it's become a taboo topping thanks to some TV chefs (I don't care what they think), La Rugoletta makes a very bad version of it.

Came here for dinner with my Mother, Stepfather and Girlfriend for a late lunch after a busy day trekking round London. Found the menu to be varied in choice, with options for vegetarians and Vegans alike. Would be cool if the Penne were egg-free. They had a total of 8 varieties of San Pellegrino! Very impressive.

Went for the first time in a few years. Not as good as it used to be. My pizza was very disappointing - watery topping and not particularly good base. None of the staff asked if we'd enjoyed our !wall. Shame as it used to be really good. Won't be back in a hurry.

How wonderful it was to find this little gem, while out exploring East Finchley on a winter evening. A genuine warm welcome from the owners and staff set me at ease, which as a solo diner is so important. My veal with lemon was delicious. Tender white meat enhanced by a mildly piquant sauce. Spaghetti pomodoro, cooked al dente and served with fresh parmigiana, confirmed this establishment as my new favourite: quality home-style real Italian cooking, (almost) on my doorstep! :-)

Best Italian in Finchley, best pizza and best pasta! Such a cosy little family run restaurant. The prices has gone up a bit in recent years, however they make so great food and you can bring your own vine, which makes the over all bill cheap. This place is always full so make sure you book a table! I go here by myself, with friends and with family, all over great and cosy place.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in north London. It is a small restaurant so reservations are recommended worth the effort as the pizzas and pastas ha e a real home cooked feel, along with the fact it is byob, you really do feel like you're being invited into their home for a nonas home cooking.
