We have been there twice, had a particularly fabulous time in the evening. The manager was entertaining, and gave us plenty of superb suggestions, none of them was a miss. We were surprised by how good the food was, how good the wine was!
Overall, I'd say pasta dishes and antipasti were better than the main meat dishes, but no matter what, I'd say it is a great place!

Coming from Japan, I never really got real Italian food made by Italian chefs in an Italian restaurant. This was overwhelming. Definitely on the pricier side of things, but made a significant impact on my palette. Although the base of both the dishes (which I ordered at random) was tomato sauce, the tortellini was soft and almost vanished as soon as it hit my saliva.

Highly recommended, great food great atmosphere what a lovely place.
Staff were so friendly amazing service I can’t remember last time I experienced that sort of friendliness and quality of service.
As for the food just beautiful, taste brilliant smells delicious and we will definitely definitely visit again. We all need a great place and this is up at the tom for me.

By far the highlight of our dinner was the service, the staff are brilliant. Happy to explain the food, crack some jokes, suggest pairings. As for the food, I do have to say that I didn't think it was great. The pasta is homemade and of high quality, however, I didn't find the dishes themselves to be spectacular. I have had my fair share of pasta so I may have unusually high standards when it comes to pasta but I wasn't overly impressed. Which is a shame because the atmosphere the staff generate really deserves 5 stars

Amazing tasty food (having lived in Italy for a while I found it to be authentic and home made quality) and staff has been super attentive and kind. The decor/lighting could be improved but really nothing irritating at all. We spend a lovely evening there and definitely recommend it without hesitation!

This is a great restaurant with nice food and an amazing design/deco.
The food is fresh and delicious with the hint of novel cuisine.
The Primrose hill is the most beautiful area of London and I use to live and run one the first Italian restaurant on England's Lane (Paradiso) 25 years ago which i am really missing now. Il Primo use to be called Cafe Maria back in those days a greasy spoon cafe run by Ms Maria and her daughter.
I wish Il Primo all the success and sure with the high standard of food they are providing have a reputation of one of the best Italian in London.

Really lovely restaurant. Nice ambiance in the evening, if a little squeezed for space. The food was great. Pasta is all freshly made and delicious. Best of all is the service, which was very welcoming and attentive. Will definitely go again.

6 stars if possible. My girlfriend and I have now settled on our single favorite restaurant in London. Great environment and some of the best food we've ever tasted. We spent the whole time there just discussing how incredible the food was (even the bread). Couldn't recommend more highly.

Such a lovely owner lady of this restaurant! I popped in today to ask some random question not even regarding the restaurant. She was so kind and responsive. I was really amazed by her energy. Haven’t try the dishes yet but really looking forward to it.
