Reviews of L'Amorosa

We had a wonderful dinner at L'Amorosa. The place is cosy, the waitresses are very kind and polite and the atmosphere was relaxing and lovely. Food wise, the main pasta dish (ox cheek raviolis with a Chianti based sauce) was so good we ordered it twice, however the real letdown was the tiramisu, which honestly was shockingly bad (crunchy bits on top, no real cocoa powder, no taste of coffee at all, no alcohol). It won't keep us for coming back, but it kept me from giving it the 5 stars it would have otherwise deserved.

An absolutely fabulous dinner at L'Amorosa on their opening night with my husband. The service was friendly, attentive and quick, and the food is freshly cooked and absolutely delicious! My husband is a fussy eater so for him to clean the plate is a sign that the food is top notch. The menu is reasonably priced and well portioned. It's like taking a trip to Italy but not needing to leave London and one of those memorable meals that leaves you wanting to come back for more. They have strict COVID-19 procedures in place and they're also now open for lunch which is great too. Would definitely come back!

So thrilled to learn of the re-opening of this lovely restaurant. Also, highly recommend ordering dishes to enjoy at home. Instead of cooking for all my friends I served them burrata with caponata and agnolotti and enjoyed delicious. And L’Amorosa are such lovely people too.

We have been going to L'Amarosa since it opened and purchased their takeaway menu too. The quality of the food, atmosphere and service is always consistently 5*.

Very nice location, with a friendly and professional staff.
The food is delicious, and it reflects the real italian flavours.
The level of the dishes is standard (not a Michelin restaurant) but perfectly executed indeed.
The price is good, as we are in London, were 60£ each for a complete nice dinner is the standard.
Recommended.

We've been going here for years and the food is always delicious. We recently went for a wedding celebration and they went above and beyond to make it as special as possible. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We went for the valentine's menu and it was really delicious! They had options on the menu for everyone . I had the meat and my husband the fish. There was also vegetarian. I loved that we they made the place look very romantic 😉 and felt very especial. Highly recommended.

Very excellent. Surprisingly very good for a high street restaurant even in upmarket Hammersmith. Fantastic main course and the best presented pudding I have eaten! Efficient, attentive and friendly service. 10/10. A bit expensive but definitely worth it.

Amazing food and amazing service. They are always checking that you are alright and that your stay at the restaurant is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Italian food!

A restaurant that we always enjoy coming back. Good prices and top quality.

Such a lovely experience. It really feels like attending a dinner party with characterful and talented hosts; a very warm welcome and incredibly tasty food paired with good wine. The restaurant is elegantly designed on a split level to feel fancy but cosy and homely at the same time. After our first visit we’d like to become regulars here.

We went for our anniversary lunch and every dish they brought out from the salads to the burrata to the pasta to the cod were exquisite. Really superb. This is a special occasion place as you'll want to take your time and savour every bite. The pasta was the highlight for me. Perfectly cooked to the second and subtle sauces. Not café cheap but worth every penny.

It was good, the food was of decent quality (not just some random pizzeria food), the staff was nice and the atmosphere was okay (but could definitely have used a bit more work).
The restaurant is quite small on the outside but it's not really tight or uncomfortable inside. There is a large bar on the side and the tables carry on all the way in (it's deceptively deep).
I personally went for the mozzarella ravioli, and i was pleasantly impressed by the quality of the food.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a family night out. Just not with young children (the food is quite exotic, don't expect your average pasta).

Very good quality Italian food, with a friendly local vibe. Fair prices too.

We went to this restaurant by chance yesterday and that was one of our nicest culinary experience in the UK in a long, long time. What a great surprise! Go there, and enjoy. Special mention to the desserts. All well worth a Michelin star at a reasonable price. We will be back!

After my nieces wedding on Saturday we all had a wonderful meal at this exceptional local restaurant. The staff are very professional and wines first class. Would recommend it and hope to visit again soon.

We ordered two different pasta dishes for the At Home service. Beautiful quality food. Inexpensive. Can't wait to try more dishes.

Beautiful restaurant and very tasty dishes! Highly recommended

Sublime lunch at L'Amorosa: every dish was perfection. The endive salad struck a fine balance between the bitterness of the greens and the richness of the gorgonzola-based dressing. The orecchiette with greens was perfectly al dente and somehow combined the feeling of autumn with a memory of spring. Lentils supporting the cod were expertly prepared and tasty, but not seasoned so much that they would overwhelm the taste of the cod: the toasted cavalo nero kale garnish added crisp starbursts of umami. We finished with a lovely poached pear and almond frangipane with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was excellent. Portions were well-sized, so while a bit pricier than its immediate neighbours on King St, I'd say L'Amorosa is a stunning value.

We were back with the family on the third day after their reopening in September and I am pleased to say that Amorosa IS BACK! Very glad to see them again (food, wine & team). Italian and international food at its best - unmatched in the whole Hammersmith&Fulham/Chiswick area. Also practising strict distancing policy for those who are concerned.
Our previous review:
Very, VERY good food, friendly, warm and professional service of the nicest kind - just what one needs after a December day full of kids activities. Popped in with family on a Saturday night. We had wanted to try the place for some time, and after our neighbours strongly recommended it we finally made it. They were fully booked but were able to sit down and have a quick dinner before the big crowds arrived. Great pasta for kids, nice prosecco, a solid house red, delicious main courses (chestnut pasta; braised venison). Shame we had to skip the very tempting puddings - we'll be back soon!

I recently tried L'Amorosa's At Home service, and was delighted with the result. My two courses (Agnolotti parcels with wild boar ragu, pear and almond tart with ice cream) were beautifully prepared, and both quite delicious. I plan to sample the takeaway menu again before lockdown ends!

Staff was incredibly friendly. The food was flavourful and well balanced. We had an artichoke salad that was light and refreshing, pasta dishes that melted in our mouths as the pasta was so fresh and an elegant version of a lava cake that was worth every bite. I will certainly be back.

We had the best experience when we ate at L'Amorosa on Saturday 15th June. At the last minute, we needed to add 2 extra people to our booking and a lady (i'm sorry that i can't recall her name but she seemed like the manager) went above and beyond to squeeze us in. The two young men working were also super helpful, giving us two very nice wine recommendations.
We originally had agreed to eat within 2 hours but once again the same lady managed to switch around some tables so that we could have dessert and a digestif each. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. It had been my idea to go to this restaurant so it's always a relief when everyone you are with is so impressed with the food and service, we will definitely go again.

Wonderful food and very attentive service. The pasta was excellent, very fresh with great flavour combinations. The Burrata was particularly good as a starter. Highly recommend for a tasty treat out which won't break the bank.

Excellent food, extremely delicious!

Apart from Pizzerias (Santa Maria in Ealing is amazing) this is the best Italian restaurant outside of Italy we've visited. I predominantly find you're better off cooking Italian food at home as it's always a bit disappointing in restaurants, but not here. Food is delicious, simple, well cooked and waiting staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

What can I say? I did have the best burrata ever last Saturday. I was treat as a special guest and feel welcome. Food was amazing, but I think that chef Andy can try more on his creations. Who complain about price doesn’t absolutely know nothing about quality of food because my dear all what you did have on your plate was absolutely of a stunning quality. The only thing that was disappointing was actually the price of the limoncello which we reported to the manager. But honestly it’s a MUST GO!

Lovely, good value, authentic Italian restaurant which is well worth travelling across town to visit.
Really well put together shortish menu - I'd make sure that you have an apertivo to give you plenty of time to mull over your choices.
Sweet & sour sardines were delicious and reminded me of Scilly. Ossobuco & saffron risotto was rich and silky. Top notch cooking and presentation.
Good selection of wine at wallet friendly prices.
The best tables are in the raised seating area at the back.
Highly recommended.

Really excellent. My starter of cuttlefish was cooked with precision, letting the tasty cephalopod shine through. A venison main was rich and deep, fragrant with rosemary and tender enough to yield to a fork. My companion devoured a plate of flawless agnolotti, tiny parcels of sweet, indulgent meatiness.
An exceptionally high standard of cooking with great produce at very reasonable prices.

Friendly staff who will not only translate menu but tell you about your meal ie which part of Italy it is native too etc. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Tasty desserts too. Comfortable surroundings plus pavement cafe eating for when the sun shines.

One of the best Italian restaurants in London

Quick meal before a concert at the Apollo. Big Italian food fan, and this place and food was beautiful. Highly advise to try. Only criticism is that the menu is quite small.

L' Amorosa is one of the best places to experience Italian food outside of Italy. Great food in a relaxed informal setting, with friendly and attentive staff.

Very nice starters, mains and desserts. I would recommend taking two courses.
The food is good and so the service.
I would recommend this restaurant. Perfect for families.
Z. H.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have visited. Extremely tasty food served here but very limited options as starters and mains have just a handful of choices.

We asked for a table upstairs and the first staff member to greet us was very abrupt and unfriendly and needless to say we had to sit downstairs!
The 1st bottle of Proseco was exchanged as it wasn't cold.
The 2nd bottle was warm and they had to take back and put in an ice bucket and gave us ice to put in the glasses.
1 pasta dish was overcooked.
However there were a couple of members of staff who tried hard to make it up to us however first impressions always count.
I don't think any of us would go back there in a hurry.

Highly recommend for a real taste of italian food at reasonable prices. Pasta was excellent, the atmosphere was nice and cosy and the service was attentive and friendly.
