Reviews of L Terroni & Sons
F. B.
What an incredible place! Rustic, homemade and tasty food. And the best part - the prices! My friend and I shared the Trio Bruschetta II, and the bresaola on it was delicious, cut straight from their deli! Then my lasagna was the best I've ever had out! Delicious homemade tomato sauce. My friend's pizza looked amazing too with fresh meat. My Aperol spritz tasted just like the ones I've had in Italy, and was only £4.95! Will definitely be going back. Lovely friendly staff too. 💓🇮🇹🍕🍝🍹

It's Italy in london. The lovely food, the Italian speaking staff, the wide variety of Italian groceries and also many Italian speaking customers.
Such a wonderful place with delicious home cooked food. Very reasonable prices. Homely service and delectable desserts.
We had the Porcini and crab ravioli. Also the parma and buffalo Mozzarella salad.
Dessert was a yummy Tiramisu.
Left with about 8 canollis. Each filled with chocolate, lemon, pistachio and white chocolate.
Saw a gigantic calzone being served as we were leaving. Probably for the next time we visit.

This is a one-off place which makes reviewing a worthwhile pass time. What’s the point of reviewing a McDonald’s when they’re all the same? Talking of McDonald’s though, part of the quaintness of this joint is that they are so far removed from McDonald’s in terms of efficiency. I can’t help think of the film “the founder“ when I watch all those Italian workers rushing around with a purpose known only to themselves. Oh the food? It’s great! If you want authentic Panini’s this is where you come. Along with all things Italian. Apparently after the war Clerkenwell is where Italian immigrants settled so you could say this is the heart of London’s Italian quarter.

What a wonderful cafe, the food is spot on reminds me of Italian home cooking, the food here is amazing just spot on, you want to try everything and it is heavy on the carbs but afterwards you can go for a very long walk. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was delicious, the calzone pizza was very big but the ingredients was again wonderful, we also had a lasagna which was very tasty. The deserts the tiramisu was rich and not too sweet. The ice cream was delicious full on flavours and fresh tasting. The lunch time was busy and we came a bit late and managed to squeeze together. They were busy but they did look after us. Very good prices and they have so many other food stuffs to buy for home, pasta, juices, biscuits.
I will go back here anytime. If you found my review helpful please press like. Thank you
D. A.
Lovely place with no frills and a traditional feel to it. Tried the pasta Bolognese, the sauce was excellent, same for tiramisú. The prices are really cheap for what you get
S. R.
Really great and nice prices to be in farringdon.
The service is friendly and you really can't get wrong on any item they cook, they have a stone oven for pizza and the sauce for pastas is just amazing.
K. L.
Really good service and pasta. Recommend their pasta over their pizza but definitely both delicious! Really good price too
M. D.
Love this little Italian deli. Everything we have tired has been fantastic (try their pizza, ravioli, lasagna, sandwiches, desserts…everything is good). Always friendly service and a true local feel.
A. C. U.
I love Terroni's, incredible team, great family. What a beautiful history since 1878
J. L.
I love this deli! Wonderful local spot for Italian staples. I like to stop by for fresh pesto, cheese, antipasti, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. I believe this is the oldest deli in London. Hope it continues for much longer!
A. M.
An absolute favorite spot of mine! The food here is always amazing and very reasonably priced. I especially recommend their pasta as the tomato sauce they use is to die for. Alternatively, they make fresh paninis and sandwiches with the wide variety of meat, cheeses and other fillings they have at their disposal. This is a perfect spot for lunch, dinner or even to buy authentic italian ingredients to cook at home.
D. D.
Legitimate Italian café and deli. Reasonable selection of meats and cheeses. Could be loaded more on olives in the deli section, but they have nochelara so all good. Convenient place to grab a panini and desert for lunch. Serves kimbo coffee. Service is quite weird, during off peak times its okish, but during busy times it can get messy. Everyone at the counter are busy but there is no dedicated staff for each task so can get messy and inefficient. However, if you have time to wait and chill, its all good.
E. L.
Authentic hidden gem - amazing pasta. Couldn’t leave without a box of cannolis to take home!
P. B.
We always thought this was a shop but it’s also a restaurant. We ordered some takeaway pizzas which were 10/10, properly Italian & great atmosphere in the restaurant. It’s authentic & well worth a visit.
C. P.
A real discovery! Fantastic Italian food/deli.
E.
Good spot for lunch, great selection of pantry items and desserts
M. P. V.
The restaurant have nice and very beautiful table, is very clean and tidy. The people that work there are Polite, Patience, Friendly and know how to do there jobs. The are diffetent type of food that you can eat there. The food is Clean, Tasty, Freshly made and Genuine Italian. I will give them 5 Stars of 5.
I reccomand to any one to take a Wife or Girlfriend after Sunday Mass and have a nice meal or during the Week. For who Like and Want the Real Taste of Italian food.
J. F.
Great simple and authentic Italian food! The staff make you feel right at home. It is such a friendly and warm environment. Highly highly recommend!
A. A.
Friendly staff, always accommodating. The Deli selection has better quality food products then your main chain supermarket. And the selections of Pasta is of abundance. Also a great place to be during the football matches.
J. C.
Wonderful Ravioli Funghi, and gnocchi. The tomato sauce brilliant,
N. M.
Very good Italian delicatessen, now serving meals.
I ate there today, I've got to say, fantastic
V. Q.
Amazing food and great service. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend a visit!
J.
It was very tasty cheese pizza. Very cute Italian coffee shop with nice coffee)))
A. P.
Brilliant Italian cafeteria next to St Peter's Church. Went for a coffee + Italian pastry after Sunday mass and bought some gifts as well. A very welcoming place and a hearty Italian feel as it reminded me of when I was in Italy. They had a grand range of coffees and a diverse selection of Pastries/croissants. I will definitely be coming here again.
T. R. P.
Great. So good I didn't have time to take a picture before I finished my plate 😁
V. B.
Homely,excellent value, great food
Quiet and fast
Perfect infact
P. V.
Nice ricotta and spinach ravioli with tomato sauce.. amazing experience
s. t.
It's a really great place. I eat here often in disguise, spend a considerable time watching and evaluating the place. I would order different things from their menu at different times. I would try different payment methods. I would try to confuse them or may be sometimes put them under pressure. But literally, I could not find a single fault with them. If you read my other reviews, you would find that I am really a difficult customer, someone hard to please; and I don't write highly positive reviews easiliy. But this place has never given me a chance to complain, and literally I am a complaint box. The hot food is good, the breakfast is excellent. You can even get Peroni on draught. the Arabiatta is not to be missed. And above all they are great host. even, if they gave me poison with that level of professionalism and love, I would drink it. Keep up the good work. See you soon.
F. F.
Unique family run Italian delicacies shop. Highly suggested if you want to have a taste of Italy or you miss your local salumeria :)
N. J.
Excellent coffee, great service and tasty sandwiches. Deli selection looked great, as did the other Italian items/groceries available in store
m. R.
The most fabulous of places for a snack or any Italian deli needs. So very lucky to live a couple of minutes away
T. B.
Very good food, strong Italian feeling
a. t.
Really authentic Italian deli and cafe. Service quick and kindly wide ranging menu, both eat in and take away. The place is also licenced to serve drinks. Good value for money. Will definitely be going back.
S. K.
The best pizza I have ever eaten.
Lovely warm friendly atmosphere and the house red ain't bad either !
G. B.
Come here for the coffee, you won't be disappointed. Nice staff, good pasta, full deli selection, old school joint.
F. O.
Delicious meal 😁 It taste similar to what you eat in Italy.
J. H.
I've been here many many times, and still go here even though my office is now further away. The pasta is lovely, you can have it for lunch or buy it to prepare at home. The cheese selection is good, nice pecorino and scamorza and other cheese. Really great to buy Pannetone or other cake gifts around Christmas time and I also buy my Kimbo coffee here. They also serve this coffee and it's delicious. The pizza is ridiculously tasty and has a very authentic flavour. Possibly my fav pizza in London. You can also buy yummy biscuits, dessert wine, pasta and a lot more here!!
I. J.
It's a great Italian shop and restaurant - they are always very welcoming, have amazing selection of cheeses and meats, but also outstanding pastries. Do try their Tiramisu!
G. C.
Great Italian store an eatery. Food is cheap and crazy good. Amazing coffee if you like it the Italian way.
D. C.
Great place to stop, reasonably priced and friendly service. Good small pastries and tasty pasta. If you're a fan of tea rather than coffee, the only let down is that tea (which comes in a pot) has to be drunk from those horrid ultra thick and chunky coffee cups - if it wasn't for that would definitely be five stars!
A. R.
Very pleasant, traditional, family run busy restaurant, delicatessen and shop stocking italian produce. Lovely cosy atmosphere and good food
A. S.
Delicious food. And love the Italian produce. Will definitely go again.
R. J.
Very satisfied with the experience.
Food good, modest and well chosen range of wines and spirits.
Excellent pastries.
Coffee good.
Deli-counter good.
No complaints.
Busy at lunchtime in the week.
m. l.
Delicious, authentic Italian food, very reasonably priced, great friendly service.
F. F.

J. W.
Amazing little restaurant, deli, cafe. Amazing food drink. Lovely family/staff. Top dollar!! Thank you.
J. B.
Great pizza. Enjoy
M. R.
Absolutely beautiful gorgeous food
Clerkenwell is so lucky to have this gem of a deli on its doorstep
Their salami is the best out there
N. B.
Really Excellent coffee. Lovely looking savoury and sweet food. Hams and cheeses hanging from the ceiling give this Italian deli a really authentic atmosphere and indicate that the owners care about food and its provenance. It is frequented by Italians living in London. What better recommendation!
B. N.
Great prices, lovely simple classic food, friendly staff. Can't really ask for more.
c. p.
The best lasagna outside Mamma’s kitchen I’ve ever tasted !
Amazing!
B. H.
Amazing! Great pasta and wine on the evening, good cheese, meat and deli items to take away. Honest, friendly, good food at good prices.
J. H.
Lovely food. Very Italian. Would go back
R. A. A.
Lovely place. Great and friendly staff. Lots of Italian goodies.
g. b.
Wonderful, what else is there to say. A treasure trove of taste.
M. R.
Without doubt the nicest coffee i have tasted in this part of London, the cannoli was superb. Great service. Well worth the walk.
G. M.
Really Good, good Italian food, great atmosphere and friendly staff
M. T.
Great selection of delicious deli foods for takeaway or eat in, great team of people supporting customers
P. G.
Best coffee I have had in ages and enjoyed a couple of different croissants. Friendly staff, good service. Recommend.
A. A.
Nice little Italian cafe. Basic with some Italian products that you might not find at other places. Good value for money. I was only there for a drink and some sides which was nice. The staff are friendly. It can be too loud if you need to have a conversation with someone. I would go back there but not necessarily to catch up with friends. You need a place a bit more quieter.
j. b.
Long established 'old-school' Italian deli cum eatery plumb in heart of the traditional Italian settlement in London.
Exactly what you'd expect at reasonable prices, rather indifferent service, and acceptable but not particularly memorable food.
Deli selection a bit tired.
Bene but not molto bene.
M. K.
Great selection of Italian food products. However, they should improve their costumer service.
E. P.
Excellent authentic Italian deli, with shelves full of lovely produce and super friendly and helpful staff.
A. M.
Great service and terrific food. I loved the homemade tiramisu! (sorry no pictures it was too yummy!)
A. F.
This is my boyfriend's favourite cafe and I've been to it more than a couple of times. Really like the food provided here. Once we ordered a Parma ham meal and another time we just ordered a pot of English breakfast tea. Friendly staff.
T. C.
Brilliant pasta. Great to sit in and have a quick delicious original Italian lunch.
J. M.
Delicious Italian food and friendly place
P. W.
Small but still a good array of genuine Italian food. A dozen or so seats to eat but also plenty to take away. Could be slightly cosier.
H. R.
3.5 stars. Good Italian coffee and food. Decor is rustic but nice. Busy after a church (next door) service.
D. k.

C. 0.
Great pizza and pasta in a lovely setting, surrounded by Italian produce in the delicatessen. The staff were very friendly and attentive, filling up our water glasses all the time. Will definitely come here again!
A. T.
lovely family run shop / pizza place. The Staff are always very friendly and they sell great products, recently they started selling freshly made pizza which i enjoyed a lot as well
P. K.
A good shop with a decent range of Italian food products - prices vary. The costumer service has been good.Worth visiting if you are fond of Italian delicatessen
g. s.
Good place to eat and have an Italian experience.
A. G.
Great home cooked Italian cooking. Nothing fancy just good wholesome food. Deli also has an excellent range of choice. Looking forward to trying the coffee beans.
E. H.
Nice little coffe shop eatery.
Had a lovely cup of coffee and cannoli and sat in their for a good few hours after jewellery shopping nearby. Americano was exceptional.
They also do pasta dishes for reasonable price, we never tried the food but lots of Italians eating their which I assume means it is good.
G. B.
Excellent cappuccino - just how it should be done!
M. N.
Great food and service. Will be going back.
T. R.
Best italian, great food, fantastic staff
D. M.
Excellent, proper italian market. Great selection, just wish it was larger! Managed to find the same wine we recently had an an obscure Milan restaurant, which we never thought we'd see again! Very worth visiting again and again.
T. L.
Nice food but people very slow in srvice
M. C.
Yes! This is as Italian as it gets. It's everything you would expect from a small Italian Deli: great staff, great food, great wines. I recommend their fennel sausages!
R. M.
Best coffee and croissants in town. Deli lunch not bad either...
H. G.
Love e.tng of this place....it's like you're some where in Italy:)
L. P.
It's one of the best places in London to make you feel like you're in Italia. Coffee and patisseries are delicious as well. Be careful you don't eat the whole shop hahaha
J. H.

L. R.
Vrey good food and nice atmosphere
T. F.
Great pizza. Ideal for a weekend morning coffee.
A. J.
Popped in for drinks on a Saturday evening, ended having food too. Firstly, let me say the service was so refreshingly good and relaxed. The guy who looked after us was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, it really made us want to stay.
Drinks were great, and very reasonable (£5 for an Aperol spritz). Mixed platters were delicious and the pizza was cooked exactly how we like them. All in all well worth the visit, and we will definitely be return.
A. G.
Good quality products excellent service but bring a fat wallet
J. M.
A great italian deli with a strong family atmosphere
C. J.

A. F.
Great selection of authentic Italian food.
O. V.
Good place for Italian produce.
B. T.
Nice place and nice service , I can recommend for everyone guys
B. C.
Service is a little slow but that's to be expected. Food is fantastic and cheap. Two mains and two glasses of prosecco for £26.
J. E.
Small counter with nice cold cuts and cheeses. They only cheated us with bread since they sold it as if it came from Puglia. Maybe we'll have lunch in the future. They are Pet friendly.
I. G.
Nice atmosphere or a shop and accurate Italian selection
F. Z.
Best pasta ever! Proper italian food, try the spaghetti bolognese !
B. F.
Great place for pasta and coffee. Love it.
Y. U.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service.
O. B.
Most things you’ve been missing from Italy in a friendly family shop and at non-astronomical prices :)
M. C.
Delicious, quick pasta and a great deli!
K. N.
Very authentic Italian family business. This cafe serves up lots of tasty Italian treats including great pasta dishes for lunch. Coffee is good and the pastries look amazing. The place also doubles up as a shop selling traditional Italian deli food and store pantry staples. There is a fresh meat and cheese counter and they have. Wonderful selection of Italian wines. Recommend for casual business meetings and lunch. Usually filled with plenty of Italians which is always a good sign.
B. B.
Perhaps the best pizza of all times
E. N.
When you're desperate for Italian food, this is the place to go.
S. C.
Excellent, iconic, a must visit for pasta and coffee!
P. B.
Great Cappuccino. Nice ambience. Felt different and will revisit when in Clerkenwell
C. C.
even if some people may find the name of this place quite offensive, they have one of the best cannolis I've tried in London (though they make ricotta with sheep's milk (yes) and cow milk (NO!). Real Sicilian ricotta has no cow's milk in it. Anyway, this is really close to the real deal. HIGHLY recommended!!
B. N.
Very relaxed, busy and good meal.
a. r.
lovely place, customer service is v good. always welcoming but they leave you alone if you only window shopping the produce.
Excellent selection of Italian charcuterie. Mortadella is to die for , also the traditional pastries are v good. good bread !
Place has a good vibe and def Italian flavour .
good produce all around, good selection of wines too.
R. L.
Good coffee, nice products, some friendly staff.
G.
Authentic Italian shop where you can taste real Italian coffee and find true Italian products. The only con is that it's too expensive.
A. Z.
Terroni is always the best, whether you stop for a meal, coffee or grocery shopping you can rest assure you'll feel like in homeland
L. M.
Best calzone I’ve ever had.
S. C.

A. 2.
Really great coffee, friendly, competent service
V. I.
Great Italian meat selection. Go and get your stock of Pancetta Affumicata, Speck and Bresaola. Good place for lunch.
d.
A great choice of Italian cheeses and meats. Only negative point was that staff were unable to provide the advice I needed due to limited English.
r. a.
We love coming here (usually just once every few months) because it's so cosy and the real deal. However this lunchtime was disappointing. Didn't feel as valued as some other customers. Asked for the menu but wasn't given one - just told 'only sandwiches' - I asked 'and salad?' So the waitress said 'yes, salad' so we ordered sandwiches and salad. Salad was appalling and the one waitress who had a bit of something about her (not the one who'd taken our order at the till) saw it and took it away and apologised and brought back a proper salad! Then I saw the waitress who'd taken our order give a menu to another couple (the menu I has asked for and not been given!) who ordered antipasti and platters (which I would have done given the choice....) My iced coffee didn't materialise - had to chase it up - and I felt a bit like a second-class citizen.
C. B.
Original idea, mixing shop and restaurant. Feeling in Italy, with tasty Italian products to buy.
A. P.
True italian nook with a wide variety of products and very friendly staff. Serving good Aperol spritz for a fiver making it the best value for money one I've had in London.
M. F.
I really like the genuine atmosphere. Kimbo coffee at its best (at least in London). Very good value pastas for lunch and some very nice cheese, hams, pasta and other Southern Italian delicacies to bring home.
C. C.
I love this place!
C.
Great find, authentic Italian coffee.

D. C.
Good coffee, good food, but a bit uninviting. 4 stars
B. M.
Super cool, and authentic ! Wonderfull. Wine is lovely.
A. B.
Quality with nice people!✌️
O. C.
Authentic Italian deli/bar.
P. O.
Good food and incredible presentation
R. F.
Some of the best Italian food products are here and I can't praise the coffee highly enough (they use Kimbo and it's great). Only downsides are the quality of hot food, which is alright but not as amazing as one would expect from a place like that, and the fact that they sell some weird products that don't really make sense for a deli (such as fabric softener... As if one needs Italian fabric softener in the UK).
C. C.
Great proper Italian food, good wine to go with it, and there's a deal for a dish + a glass of red.
When you're finished, there's some very good Italian groceries to buy too. The cured meat are really good, and for the Christmas season, I like buying a Pan D'Oro.
A. F.
Proper italian dishes and delicatessen
D. A.
Very good pizza!
S. A.
A piece of Italy in London great cappuccino and croissants
M. P.

m. w.

p. d.
Calzone Vesuvio was great and tasty...😊
M. B.
Great coffee. Lovely pastries.
c. l.
This is such a smart little cafe, just outside Hatton gardens you'll find this gem. Essentially an Italian grocers where you will find anything from wines to bread, but the special part of it is the cafe serving up their ravioli and pasta. They're not too complicated but the dished are spot on. I would recommend the ravioli with truffle oil. Seems like a very popular lunch cafe so the tables are abit communal
Y. K.
Good food and service
A. H. K.
Wonderfully eclectic and totally bonkers!!
J. M.
Great place for a real espresso and some good Italian food
I. B.
Good food and busy.
F. D. P.
Cured meat is at affordable prices!
S. D.
One of the oldest and authentic Italian places. You get Kimbo espresso, freshly made variety of fillings in Ravioli & Tortellini. You will also get my kids favourite Mulino Bianco cookies. Loads of variety pasta, meat, cheese and wine are also on sale.
M. S.
Inexpensive and unmemorable food delivered with haphazard charm
A. H.
Fantastic and friendly service!
K. M.
Delicious food , amazing

W. A.
Excellent coffee, food and service

Very friendly place
A. M.
I remember this store in the 1960s. The company I worked for at that time was G Costa & Co, who were at that time agents for pasta Buitoni. It is great to see that old established family companies still exist and are successful. Two other Italian shops I served were Gazzano in Farringdon Rd and Dondi in Leather Lane. Compared with Soho, the Farringdon Road area is still to the fore. Long gone are the Parmigiani Figlio, Soho Provision Store, New Continental Stores, etc. I would also add that G Costa are no longer trading having being sold to AB World Foods, not a pack of pasta in sight!! Sad for a company founded in 1879! Having been retired now for 30+ years I think I had the best years when quality was always better preferred best wishes for the future. A McDonald
