Nice little cafe at Wood Street. It's much bigger than it looks form the outside as it extends to the back with outdoor seating. I had the Full English with a cappuccino and it was lovely. Fresh and good quality ingredients used. Sausage was thick and full and the mushrooms were gorgeous. I thought it was weird that it came with one egg as I thought these came with two eggs standard, and how much is an egg really to try and skimp on that. Otherwise. Great experience and massive portions to be honest. Will def recommend and visit myself again sooon.

First of all I would say if you are really hungry that’s the last place you want to go, we waited for up to 2hrs to even get our food and they messed up the order, we were charged for a milkshake and they didn’t add it to our food. The chips were dry and barely warm. The spicy crispy burger 🍔 hit different though, yummy 🤤 af. I really enjoyed it

I can't believe that I haven't made a review on this sooner! I come here very often and am always very surprised with the meals. They are always very tasty and filling (in a good way). They also allow dogs in the area and staff are VERY nice! I've never had the garlic bread before and would definitely recommend it! It was very tasty and had a nice crunch to it. I had the chicken linguine, which I did not take a picture of, and it was delicious and had tasty greens too! The tuna nicoise salad was excellent, came with a two tuna steaks which were both delicious. It was a great meal size for one person! Super friendly cafe, an absolute bargain for the quality and presentation of their dishes! Breakfast is definitely their strong feature to me - cups of coffee size bath tub! Probably one of the best Shakshuka I ever had, and their vegetarian or healthier options are also very yummy! - I am thinking of their salmon breakfast, to mention one. Staff is very polite and friendly, service is very quick. Don't get fooled by the lack of hipster hype - this is a true and very affordable gem!

This place is consistently amazing. Great tasting food with a very varied menu. Definitely something for everyone. No matter whether the breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. It’s all fresh, tasty, good portion and excellent value for money. The people who own this business are wonderful, always happy and good hearted and it’s such a joy to visit. We have been going for many years and never been disappointed. Whether it’s just the two of us or in a large group. Love the fact that it is now also dog friendly in their covered back garden.

Amazing place! Quite a hidden gem, the place has a nice vibe and the food is amazing! My wife had lasagna and said it was the best she ever had. My place was a speciality and also delicious! But tot top everything we got the best desert ever. Some pancakes with bananas and icecream wich were amaazing. The serving was good! Great grilled chicken dish and a linguine vegetale up to their usual excellent standard, arrived speedily and same very generous portions. Ordered breakfast off uber eats. The driver had a delivery on the way, yet the food was still hot and fresh! We got the French toast with banana scotch, the club chicken chiabatta, and the full English. I dined solo and had a fish nicoise salad lunch here. The service was very good, staff are very welcoming and friendly; I was served quickly and the wait for the food was fine. The food was presented well and it was obvious it was all freshly cooked. It was lovely and I really enjoyed my lunch. Prices are fine, but be aware they only take cash. I asked before I ordered and was able to go to a nearby petrol station and use their ATM.

The mains are cheap for the portion size and quality of ingredients and cooking. There's a brunch/breakfast menu until 1230, then lunch menu and sandwiches that's very popular with the nearby office workers and locals. It's also open weekends in the evenings for more substantial/slightly posher dinner fare. There's also excellent provision for vegetarians - with always a couple of good pastas on the menu, plus quiches, tarts, stuffed mushrooms etc.

We were in the area on holiday from Newcastle and had dinner here early on a Thursday evening and enjoyed it so much that we came back the next night. Excellent food, great service, very child friendly (including menu options) and very good value for money. The adults ate both from the specials and regular menu - all excellent. It may look a bit plain from the outside, but don't let that put you off.

The definition of what a local restaurant should be. The menu rarely changes and comprises several classic dishes, all of which are very reasonably priced, with a few different daily specials in the mix. Great for groups, families or couples. Everything on the menu seems to have been perfected and is consistently fantastic, the bruschetta, salads, sandwiches are all amazing and both the honey and mustard chicken or sirloin steak and sauteed potatoes are always spot on for a main. Great coffee, desserts and a decent drinks menu too. Ironically, this place always gets packed out at lunchtimes, often with no seats available so takeaway is advisable, as they largely cater to the office crowd of council workers and teachers, but I would recommend a visit any evening of the week that they're open, when it is guaranteed to be quieter. Service is low key but attentive, the chef clearly knows his stuff and food comes out of the kitchen very quickly. The owner is a lovely guy who always makes us feel welcome. Forget the tenuous comments of the previous reviewer about Wood Street, which is turning into a magnet for housing developments aimed at wealthy new residents. That doesn't equal fashionable, it's actually quite sad to see another neighbourhood ruined by property developers, coupled with an influx of new people who make no effort to integrate. Just come down to the best end of Forest Road and try their food. Forget Hoe Street, the restaurants at the unimaginatively titled Scene and ignore the tired old hype about just about every place on Orford Road, La Cafeteria has consistently been the best restaurant in Walthamstow, run by the same people, for over a decade.

Friendly uppish-market cafe/restaurant. Food is a mix of Mediterranean and English (the pannetone bread pudding is fantastic) and covers the range from breakfast snacks to big mains. The menu is extensive, generally with a few specials. These are well thought out and imaginative, with meat/fish/veg options available. It's often busy Friday lunchtime and not open every evening. The quality is fantastic and the prices very reasonable - I guess only possible because of the out of the way location. Go there before Wood Street gets too fashionable.
