Reviews of La Figa Restaurant
M.
I love this restaurant. I go here every year for my birthday because the people are lovely, service is excellent, the food is delicious, drinks are tasty, and we always have a wonderful time. It is not my birthday without a meal here!
P. A.
My experience didn't start too well, because as I arrived, one of the managers was having a full blown argument with a member of staff. Not a great first impression!
Once I got to our table and everyone had arrived then the afternoon went much better! Quite an extensive menu with loads of pizza options, chicken and fish dishes.
We all shared the tomato pizza bread which was really hot and tasty then I had the the chicken dish (which is the round ball/kiev shape you can see in the picture) served with a good portion of side vegetables, which was absolutely delicious. If you're a big fan of chicken, then you will love this. Finished off with a lovely chocolate ice cream.
It's a little bit pricey, EG: £9 for bruschetta, but it's Limehouse, East London, so it is pretty much what you'd expect to pay. Service was a little bit off to begin with but as the afternoon went one they seemed to warm to us a bit more, and we had some very funny banter with one of the waitresses.
R. W.
Fantastic food and service. Typical Italian (large) portions. Highly recommend!!
S. V.
I have been here once and have to say that the food is very good! I was a little reluctant to have dinner here because of the name, I thought that someone calling a restaurant with that name (in Italian is not a very nice word) was because he/she was not Italian so, the food would not been proper Italian food. Once day I decided to go and have a try and I had to reconsider what I thought before...Food was simply amazing, we tried everything: pizza, fish, meat, side and desserts....everything was as in Italy! Very recommended!
D. M.
Wonderful food and service.
I highly recommend you visit this excellent restaurant if you get the opportunity.

We were lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday evening without a reservation, and it was a wonderful evening at La Figa. They serve huge portions indeed :) I thoroughly enjoyed my tuna steak from specials of the day mains. House champagne was decent too. Great place, friendly service. Thank you.
J. B.
Wow you get a lot of food! It is also very good. Our waitress was very nice and was working so hard. Lots of people in restaurant.
I’d definitely go back.
D. &. J. P.
Had a lovely meal, the staff were very friendly and a nice relaxed atmosphere, food was excellent
H. L.
The service is always great. Food is amazing. The best Italian food ever.
A. O.
Delicious Italian food, generous portions and good service. The only thing I didn't like was the quite pricey (£11) Old fashioned which didn't really taste like one (not sure they actually used angostura in it as the menu said) and was made with crushed ice (whaaaat?) which made it taste weird and diluted.
A. P.
Always great service and excellent food. The portions are generous and the pasta is great. Lots of variety on the menu and the staff are very attentive. I would recommend La Figa and will certainly go again.
B. N.
I've not been here for a long time but glad I came back. Great for the kids plus mum and dad. We came away stuffed full of all good Italian food and desserts!
D.
First time here and the food was amazing, so much flavour! We had the seafood risotto and mushroom tagliatelle and the portions for both were very generous! Service was a bit slow because the restaurant was busy but staff were very polite which made up for it!
J. B. K.
Best Italian in London! Meatballs are just like Nona's & the pizza's are thin & crisp. Our local favourite!
L. O.
Great tasting food! Portion was generous.
Very attentive staff.
Definitely returning
B. B.
My favourite Italian restaurant - staff and atmosphere is terrific! Food is out of this world - can't wait to return
D. E.
Best Italian food I've ever had outside of Italy.
F. S.
Food was generally fine, though if I'd order again, I'd fill for fish options instead of veggie. As a halal eater, choice was a bit restricted but the fish options looked great. Veggie ravioli was nice, but veggie pizza had a piece of meat on it, which is disappointing.
Service was good and friendly, despite the restaurant bursting at the seams with diners. It is a little pricey, but worth a visit, just ask them to take extra care with dietary needs...
N. S.
Our food was great and the service outstanding, clearly a favourite with the locals as despite an early meal at 6:30pm the restaurant soon filled up! It made for a nice & memorable 3rd anniversary meal.
T.
Good location and food was nice enough. Service was very friendly but not particularly attentive. Main issue here is the prices are on the high end, particularly for drinks. £3.45 for fizzy drinks and £12.95-15.95 for cocktails. Happy to pay these prices for an upmarket bar but not a local Italian.
K. H.
Friendly service. Lovely waiter who used to live in Blackpool. Helpful. Very busy so had to eat at bar. But service good
J. C.
Really big portion in London standard. Good was great - homey and scrumptious. Recommend!!
R. V.
Pasta is beautiful, in fact the entire menu is awesome. 12 years eating in this family run restaurant. Just delicious
S.
The chef, Giuseppe makes the very Italian pizza and is delicious. Totally recommend. Eventually ask him to sing a song for you... Lol
林.
One of the Best Italian food in London. Hugh portions, rich favors and nice service.
P. B.
Went on a recommendation and La Figa turned into one of the most memorable of dining experiences. Relaxed and friendly attentive staff . We ordered calamari and I had scallops all delicious and hot. Our main course was a fish extravaganza for my son and I had swordfish Sophia very happy with her Pizza too.
A.
A bit pricey but totally justified by the quality and craft that goes into the meals. Service was impeccable with care of our satisfaction. Went with a large group and wait time was surprisingly not long
L. M.
Abundant choices. Awesome service. Spacious. Excellent food.
S.
Amazing food with great portion sizes, the pizzas are great and staff friendly
A. J.
Food is absolutely amazing. Portions are huge. I think its not possible to finish your pasta even if you didn't have starter... Very generous! Nice that there is an option to take it away afterwards. Looks like the design need to be updated and staff had some little issues with each other, but our server was very nice and attentive to us. I will come back and recommend to try.
M. D.
Great menu kind to tourists, food was great. Wine list fantastic.
C. F.
Great food, nice atmosphere! Definitely go again.
K. B.
My partner and I had dinner here yesterday and would highly recommend. The food was fresh, delicious and authentic, with generous portions. The service was excellent and added to the experience. Bit on the pricey side but it was more than worth it. New favourite Italian in town, we'll be back soon.
J. W.
Great Restuarant with great ambiance and wonderful food with nice service.
E. L.
I come here often, it is one of my favorite pizzerie in London. Pizza is very good and ingredients are always good quality, I’m never disappointed.
A. D.
Amazing! Generous, delicious portions, lovely staff, relaxing atmosphere in a great location
P. T.
Like many other reviewers recently on here I enjoyed this place on the 'help out to eat out scheme', they've also been recommended by a good friend several times.
I went for the calzone which was my friends recommended dish, it's huge, so make sure you're hungry and my partner went for a fresh pasta dish which was also good.
They've opened up the terrace, which made the whole experience very holiday like. Location is lovely, plenty of nice places for pre and post drinks.
Service was good, very friendly experienced staff who all seemed to be enjoying their work.
The only reason they've not scored a 5 is I have had better and more affordable. Pasta dishes and pizza's were very affordable but compared to other Italians their other dishes were rather expensive.
M. F.
This place serves authentic Italian food. Large hearty portions and fantastic taste. The house wine is actually very good and service is warm and friendly. Good prices. Highly recommended. They have tables both outside and inside.
a. l.
Amazing Italian food. Great selection in their menu. We normally have the pasta dishes like the crab ravioli and scallops linguine. They are amazing! Decent to generous portions. Their desserts are also amazing especially the profiteroles.
A. F.
If you're looking for somewhere with lovely food, good service, with a nice experience then this is the place for you. Prices are at the mid to high range.
v. m.
Great food, the workers are so friendly and nice, highly recommend
h. m.
massively over priced for a bog standard italian .
£7.25 for a pint of moretti , £10 a glass
of below average chianti , £3.25 for a can of sprite . outrageous. wont return
S. &. M. S.
Good food and plenty of it! in actual fact too much. Suggest finding out how big your food choice is before you order a starter or sides.
Friendly staff and comfortable surrounding make for a special meal.
Visited a few times now and so far has not disappointed. Thanks for a great evening.
J. W.
Lovely airy setting, welcoming staff, very entertaining to the younger family members. Understood the needs of our gluten intolerant family members. Good wide menu both Italian and classic British, beautifully cooked and presented. We really enjoyed the meal.
R. B.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Staff friendly with real family atmosphere. Food was really tasty and there was a good choice on menu. Be warned the portions are large! Have been several times and looking forward to my next visit. You won't be disappointed.
L. H.
1st rime i visited this restaurant and i thoroughly enjoyed it...great food and cocktails
D. M.
Wonderful food made with love and affection. Hospitality is 100% amazing. Great place as date night, with friends, family or colleagus. You have the Thames Riverside walk across the road as well as Rotherhide Tunnel DLR station
D. Y. F.
Risotto was nice, pizza OK. Staff very friendly
I. Y.
The staff were lovely, and the menu is great, but the execution of the dishes didn't match the quality of the ingredients.
Most dishes were underseasoned, and the seafood was overcooked.
We enjoyed the meal overall, but definitely room for improvement.
The pizzas looked good, from what we saw.
A. B.
Lovely restaurant with an old school trattoria vibe. Delicious pizza and pasta here with friendly Italian waiters. Highly recommended.
M. T.
Great customer experience and service. Food good as always
D. C. L.
Nice atmosphere and food delicious. Service well but we had to ask for water more than three times because one of the waiters forgot all the time, however the Colombian one was very friendly.
Also you have the Támesis river really close, so you can have a walk with a beautiful views.
G. B.
Absolutely amazing Italian fresh food, the staff are so friendly and helpful and a beautiful spot in Limehouse. Definitely going back and recommending everyone I know.
A. D.
Fantastic restaurant. On an evening walk down the Thames path I suddenly smelled garlic, and discovered La Figa was still open (for takeaway and Deliveroo only). The smell was so captivating I placed an order for collection after my walk was done and I could take it home and treat myself to dinner. I ordered the scallops for a starter and the linguine with porcini and truffle mushrooms for a main. They were divine! The portion size was very generous. So glad this restaurant is open at this time!
S. J.
I have been here before and it is not the same quality. Not sure I would come again.
I am not sure they are following social distancing as well as they should and I really don't like paying nearly £4 for a can of Coke if I'm honest. The least that could be done was someone could pour it and leave the can at the bar.........
I ordered the meatballs and spaghetti because it was amazing last time. This time was definitely a budget version!
I also don't think it's legal to smoke a vape inside the restaurant but the barman seemed to think it was ok.
Overall it was alright but I wouldnt visit for a special occasion anymore, which is a real shame. Food was ok hence the 3* but I would probably find alternative places to eat for the same quality and experience.
Shame because before it was really really nice which was why we came back.
C. H.
Came across this place by accident but so glad I did. New chef serving Mexican/ Southern American food. So good. Buffalo wings with Louisiana hot sauce were amazing. Had the hot burger which was great and then had churros with chocolate sauce which was fantastic.
Can't recommend this place enough. Prices are very competitive too.
Go there!
J. B.
This is an incredible restaurant.
The menu is vast, the food is great and the portions huge.
Beyond this the staff are really nice. They're present and efficient. Each one of them is a character and they work really well together to ensure a great dining experience.
This place feels like a corner of Italy in London.
Book ahead because La Figa is often busy, but knowing them they'll always try to accomodate you somewhere.
Lovely place.
L. O.
I haven't been here for about ten years but the staff are still the same and the food the same great quality. I ate here 3 times and had pork knuckle, linguini with scallops and veal in mushroom sauce. All good portions and well cooked. The pork was particularly delicious with meat falling off the bone, light and smooth creamed potato and well cooked peas, broccoli and carrots. The side accompaniments of veg can often be a second thought and are often the measure of a great Restaurant. Simply cooked they were however perfect. Take the 15 minute stroll away from Canary Wharf and the noise and sample the delights of this hidden gem. Cheers and see you in another 10 years
A. J.
It so nice to find a charming Italian restaurant that doesn't serve the traditionally minimalistic portions and this place is exactly that. Don't be fooled and order a full course meal, because you definitely won't manage to eat up everything even if it tastes amazing. The food is very very tasty and you should definitely try their pizzas. Service is just as fantastic. The staff are all very polite, welcoming and friendly and work very efficiently. They also know how to take real good care of their customers and never leave the wine glasses empty.
T. T.
Nice atmosphere. Food was really good and freshly made pasta amazing. Starters were not great - we picked the options from day menu and were not surprised. Disjointed with pitted olives - I don’t expect from a decent Italian restaurant to serve plastic tasing pitted olives from Tesco.
Family friendly and waiters were really friendly with kids, but we haven’t been given the kids menu and kids ordered standard portions which were massive for them. We got food for another day at home though.
Good location. Five minutes walk from limehouse DLR station.
S. W.
Fantastic food and great prices!
A. O.
Firstly I would just like to compliment the staff and especially our lovely waitress, sadly I did not catch her name, but she was very pleasant and a real laugh.
The decor inside is pretty cool, not at all what you expect from outside.
But the portion sizes are immense! And the food is delicious.
Would recommend the white bait and quattro fromaggi pizza.
K. C.
Belisima. The most amazing meal and sublime dessert 🍰
D. E.
Its an amazing place with very delicious food and drinks. Excellent service!
V. S.
Friendly staff good prices nice food
K. S.
One of my favorite restaurants in London! Food is really delicious especially pizzas and crab meat ravioli. Staff are friendly and service is usually very quick.
I live nearby so order to take out quite often, never got disappointed.
A. W.
I lived near to this amazing Italian restaurant for just over a year, and my boyfriend and I probably ate here most weeks. It's unprentious, friendly and full of amazing characters. The menu is vast, you can have a simple but tasty pasta/pizza and a reasonable bottle of great wine or you can go for lobster, steak and champagne. The food never disappoints and the staff are awesome. Next time I'm back in London this will be one of my first stops!
N. H.
We have been to La Figa many times since our first visit 6 years ago and every time is a joy. The food is always superb and I mean it, massive portions and really tasty. I usually have the steak or a chicken dish and they are both the best I've ever had. The staff are always great, on a weekend night the place gets very busy and the waiters are always rushing around and very attentive. I would say La Figa is probably the best restaurant I have ever been too for the combination of food, staff and price and I look forward to our next visit!
J. G.
I had the spaghetti bolognese, grilled prawns and minestrone soup.
Quality of food was very good, but not my style. Grilled prawns came shelled and too dry; there was no sauce anywhere. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked but again, no sauce and no beef just noodles. No complaints about the soup - very nice.
Service was standard for a good quality restaurant. Would recommend, but not for me.
G.
Great Place! The food is lovely, the staff are extremely friendly, I would definitely recommend
J. C.
Socially distant alfresco meal with ‘Eat out to help out’ discount. Big portions and tasty flavours. I’ve had pasta and pizza here - both good. Always a winner.
S.
Came here for a corporate Christmas lunch - it was really great. Lovely wine choices. The starter of mixed antipasto was gorgeous as was the garlic pizza bread. I ordered squid ink pasta - lovely big prawns, tasty sauce and huge portions! The staff were incredibly friendly, got a free shot of limoncello and a lovely pandoro to take home. Will definitely be back.
J. H.
Last time I went it was super busy, slower than usual but lifestyle too short to worry about that. The food was great, as always and I'm glad they have reopened since lockdown. Missed this restaurant.
G. D.
Good local restaurant. We come here often and we also like to order takeaway. The quality of food is good, very rarely did they disappoint. Portions are a good size. They serve an identical menu as Il Bordello in Wapping. I think there was connection at some point but the two restaurants are now independent. The service is good, the owner is always around and very chatty. I like their lasagna, mulles marinere and the lobster ravioli. desserts are good too. It has a bit of an 80s vibe decor wise but it’s a fun little place.
T. S.
Great Italian restaurant. Food portions always good and the taste is very good.
Would recommend if you want good service, tasty and pretty authentic food coupled with decent portions.
Only a short walk from Limehouse DLR station so very easy to get to.
S. C.
Amazing service. Excellent waiters. My waiter genuinely went out of the way to ensure our experience was a good one. Great food. Definitely recommend.
M. E.
Had lunch here today with a girlfriend and it was unbelievable! Amazing food and frankly the best service I’ve ever had. Our waiter made the whole experience fantastic and because of this we are booking again for Saturday! Thank you so much xx
k. b.
Restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is good. Service is a little in the snow side.
Unusual incident where start appeared to be a drunk regular at the bar (who had been noisy and annoying all night without management intervening on behalf of other patrons) verbally abused a woman at the bar before throwing a glass at her. I enquired add to how often this man attended the restaurant to be told, somewhat unconvincingly, "not often".
In short, the food is good but some at least one terrible human being frequents the place. Get take out.
M. L. T.
La Figa is a great restaurant where you can dine with your family, friends or with your date. The staff is kind and very service minded. The place looks up to date and is clean. You can find food in different price ranges and the variety of dishes is superb. I dined there with a couple of friends and we had a great time.
A. O.
Went for a family party. It was a relaxed atmosphere with great food. Staff friendly and service was excellent. I liked that this is a place for great food and even better is that doesn't always go with large parties with young children but not here they are brilliant the magic tricks ( from our waiter) very nice touch
M. O.
Tasty food and great service. If you go here you have to try their fish menu 🤤🤤🤤
S. F.
The food here is amazing and the prices are really reasonable for food of such quality. The drinks are a good size too and presented very professionally. We really enjoy this restaurant, it’s one of our favourite local date night places.
S. L.
Lovely Italian restaurant with attentative service (but it was quiet this particular lunch time). Food was lovely - good value for money, good portions and flavoursome. Pasta was al dente which we both liked. I was slightly envious of my other half’s squid ink pasta as it was pretty tasty. Would come again.
K. S.
We ordered this through Uber Eats to our office, before realising it's right next door! Needless to say the food came promplty - within 30 minutes.
The scallops were'nt great and were gritty but everything else (fresh Ravioli and porcini Tagliatelle) was seasoned well and thoroughly enjoyable. It's definitely more comfort food than fine dining and the portion sizes are very good.
We will be buying from here again!
R. D.
It’s was a lovely Bank holiday Monday at 6:45pm when we arrived to the restaurant, I have to admit being extremely impressed by the set up and the lovely little square where tables were spread outside in the open.
We got a really nice table and ordered a couple of simple starters which arrived almost immediately.
The focaccia bread and the mozzarella and artichoke salad was very nice indeed.
My friend and I ordered both a very tempting 4 cheese gnocchi, we haven’t had them for a while and looked forward to them.
We waited for a while and when we saw other people being served we questioned about our food, it’s been 45 minutes since we ordered it.
We became impatient although they reassured us the food was in its way.
It finally arrived but we had been waiting for one hour.
The portion was of a very good size and the flavour and freshness didn’t disappoint us at all, despite the waiting. It was worthwhile.
We ordered the bill and we finally got it.
After paying we’ve been offered a complimentary limoncello which we accepted with thanks.
The limoncello was taken over ten minutes to arrive so I asked another waiter for it and then after 5 minutes to yet another waiter. They all say “subito” but it never came.
We just couldn’t wait and left.
No one noticed.
J. B.
This place is fantastic. Great food and better service. Myself and my (very) pregnant wife came in without a reservation one evening and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Hugely recommended and I'll be returning as soon as soon as the baby allows!
R. S.
So just don't ask an Italian as to the name of the restaurant ;) I always have a chuckle when I walk past, especially as I live close by. We decided to go in there for dinner and overall, it was nice. Certainly, there was absolutely no fault with the service. The lady serving out table was lovely. Be aware that the portion sizes are very much on the exuberant side...the pasta dish you see in the picture really was theoretically for one person. Really generous 'portion' of clams, mussels and prawns with fresh pasta in a tomato sauce. I felt the sauce could've had a little more thickness and flavour, but overall it was good. I had a boscaiola pizza with italian sausage, red onions, thinly sliced spech (ham) and chillies and mozzarella. Good think and crispy pizza...I do like my pizza having some lovely bubbles on the crust proper traditional style, but their oven is not wood. We were offered limoncello on the house which was really nice of them. The dessert counter filled with massively sized cannoli, cheesecake, profiteroles and tiramisu looked appetising. Hopefully we can go in there again to have a full meal...but we definitely were very full after the pasta and pizza. This restaurant has an almost 'club size' bar, so hopefully we'll get to also try their drinks and cocktails next time. I can see why this place gets lots of customers. The garlic mushrooms for starters were amazing.
P. K.
Fine, authentic Italian cuisine with outstanding service in a lovely setting. The veal was exceptional, the Bolognese as good as we have had in the UK, the pasta was just right. Bravo!
D. v. W.
We dined here on Sunday evening of the Bank Holiday weekend with a large party. The place was heaving (as can be expected) and the service was shoddy as a result. Waited ages to order drinks, when our bread arrived only half of the table got side plates. Kept asking for more plates which never showed up. One member in our party ordered the prawn & lobster ravioli in which we only managed to find 1 prawn and no evidence of any lobster mainly just the pasta and a load of sauce. The waiters never asked anyone in the party how the food was so that we could comment.
Another member of our party ordered the soup of the day which had no price on the menu but the other listed soup was priced at £6.95. When the bill arrived we had been charged £12.95!!! for a plate of lobster soup, double the price of the listed soup on the menu. Bit of a shocker! The service charge was added to our bill (£40) which was steep seeing as we had hardly any service.
Finally, and I'm not the first person to mention this reading some of the other comments, the general appearance of the toilets really lets this restaurant down. The gents urinals, sinks and floors need a thorough deep clean and a good hard scrub. It made us question what the rest of the hygiene standards in the establishment are like.
It doesn't look like this review is going to get much of a follow up but the owners should take some notes from the slightly lesser reviews to improve their performance and customer experience.
M. S.
Very very good food! Is not the frist time i been here. Good atmosphere and very and traditional italian food. Ill be back again for sure!
G. B.
This restaurant is in my backyard, So have eaten here many times (they also do take aways). Food is great (better than Jamie's in my opjnion). For you money you get nice atmosphere, good service and huge helpings. But do make reservations as it's very busy especially in the evenings and weekends.
P. D. L.
Great place to go and grab some italian food. The pizza Diavola was not the usual variety, it's with chicken and chilli, but it was very nice, the pasta was also very good. The food was fast to arrive after the order.
The service was very nice but at times took a while to get noticed, even though the restaurant was only half full.
The price range is good, about 25£ per person, with a couple of drinks and 2 main dishes.
P. S.
Decent food. Service not very attentive, food dumped on the table while waiter looks away, but picked up and got friendlier towards the end of the evening. Greasy cutlery. Manager telling off the staff and making a scene in front of eating customers (Italian authenticity?). Blue Christmas lights used for permanent decorations.
k. r.
Very enjoyable meal. First time out since lockdown. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely evening. Thanks La Figa
C. E.
Real italian feeling. Huge choice of menu. Everything looks appetizing. Everything we ordered was delicious. My boyfriend ordered swordfish, pasta with a whole lobster and a chocolate mousse. I ordered snails, lobster ravioli and a creme brulee. It was really delicious and huge portion as well. Staff is very nice and welcomy. We will definitely come back and/or order for a delivery. It wasn't cheap but worth it if you want to spend extra to get a good meal. Also you probably don't have to spend that much if you don't want to, just look at other option in the menu. Highly recommend.
R. G.
We visited La Figa on our first night in London. We were weary from travel, but ended our busy day on such a high note from the food and service received at this amazing restaurant. The decor doesn't seem Italian, but the food and service felt just like we were in the heart of Italy. La Figa was a great start to our vacation in England! I love the name of this restaurant, which I think you know what it mean ;) Delicious pizza and antipasto with melon and Italian ham! Italian style. A limoncello offerto alla fine della serata. Grazie
k.
It was delicious and the meals were big for this kind of restaurants but the service lowers the stars a lot - they were not king at all and the table they have us was right next to the kitchen and the smell of garlic lasted for the whole night.
J. L.
Loved the service. Very tasty food!
U. T.
Excellent service and delicious food!! Probably the best Italian food in east London! When we are around the area we always eat there, if you go there once you keep coming back
L. D.
Nice atmosphere, very good traditional italian food, ideal for a meal with friends or with family. The service was perfect and I loved the little liquor on the house after my delicious meal !
D. E.
I’ve been coming here for years.
Good food, huge portions and reasonably priced. Not cheap, but certainly not pricey. The staff are very friendly too.
Highly recommended.
M. M.
Really nice pizza and friendly staff.
K. M.
I love everything about this restaurant! Great authentic Italian foods, excellent service, friendly staff, great location and really good price for the portion. We'll definitely come back!
H. R.
What a hidden gem this is. We discovered this from google when staying at the holiday inn. The staff are lovely and the food is brilliantly authentic Italian and seriously delicious!
A. B.
Local restaurant, staff is always on point and friendly. Portions in La Figa are massive. A starter for one cam easy be shared by two. The same applies to mains and deserts. Great value for money.
J. V.
Food was excellent and service was relatively fast for a restaurant. Staff were excellent and really engaging, one guy even came over to ask us to solve a riddle shortly before we left.
Absolutely excellent.
D. M.
The food was great, but the service far from it. Even without the restaurant being particularly busy, it took quite a while to get a table (even though the were plenty of them available), and the same thing happened while asking for the check.
S. J.
A restaurant with a good atmosphere and lovely, italian waiters. The food was amazing and very generous portions. We were full to the brim. We even had a lemonchello to conclude our meal, it is definately a propper italian restaurant. I had the spagetti and meatballs which did not dissapoint. The meatballs were the biggest I have ever seen. Lee had a meat feast pizza which was bigger than the plate and most of the table. All in all, good value for what we had and lovely place. We will visit again. Especially in the summer as its so close to the river!
S. Z.
Three stars because pizza is good. Other than that it's a very noisy and unwelcomy place. Don't go there if you want to have a conversation as you'll and up shouting all the time. They do take away, which is good.
R. R.
Absolutely fantastic food and really great staff. Not the cheapest prices but really good portion sizes. Nice, fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.
L. S.
This used to be my local Italian, but unfortunately they decided to.move but the food.& the staff are all just the same friendly people that we remember. The food is amazing too , plus the cocktails are to die for.
Difficult to get there if you are not mobile.
f. q.
The place is cozy and nice. The staff is amazing but the food is beyond amazing. Defo will come back to try other dishes. Thanks La Figa!
J. C.
Family style Italian restaurant, great taste, pasta is really good.l
L. D.
Great food, attentive staff and generous portions. Definitely go there again
K. B.
The service here is absolutely brilliant. The food it's hearty and delicious. Perfect for a relaxed meal with friends and family
J. H.
Had planned to eat at one of the nearby pubs, but was unable to get a table, so came here as a backup plan, where there was plenty of seating. I had a pizza which was decent, but nothing to write home about - I think that was the general consensus of our group.
B. S.
A real old fashioned Italian Restaurant in a modern setting.
Food was great atmosphere was tip top.
Outside seating on the terrace.
Nothing not to like about this place.
I can well recommend it.
R. C.
Simply my favourite Italian restaurant. Abbondanza, delivered with faultless service. An excellent menu, a matchless wine list, and guaranteed to please.
S.
As a regular at their sister restaurant- thoiught would try La Figa from a recommendation from la family member. Went on a very busy Saturday night, couldn’t be more accommodating, great food, lively atmosphere- great owner - knows how to look after customers ! Look forward to going back
M. W.
Always on the money! professional staff and a good buzz for this quiet corner of limehouse. Calves livers cooked to perfection in sage butter, pork shank was to die for.
K. U.
Great food, quick friendly service. Dangerously close to my flat 😅
Q. L.
The food is delicious and the portion is gigantic! A seafood spaghetti is enough for 2 people.
Strongly recommend, though the name is tricky...
C. W.
This place is loud and the service is traditional Italian chaos but the food is exceptional. Definitely worth it if you want to eat well
S. A.
Excellent food and service, I love this place
I. L.
Awesome food but poor service. Can’t be asking for the bill to 3 different people when the crowd is average 🤔 Pizza and Pasta are all very authentic
K. C.
I just ate the most tasty vegetarian ravioli and the Chianti wine was good too. Apparently the lasagne was good too. The service was fast and friendly
M. T.
Absolutely outstanding service and food
M. S.
Very authentic, but pricey Italian. Fresh seafood, huge portions, extensive wine list and the service is brilliant - your wine glass is never empty!
T. W.
Best Italian in London! I’ve been going here for 10 Years and the food gets better every time.
A. L.
Delicious, huge portions, friendly staff. And the complimentary shot at the end of the meal was a pleasant bonus!
P. G.
Great service, fantastic selection of pasta and pizza good value, off the beaten track hidden gem with inside outside seating definitely great experience
N. S.
The food was very good, portions more than decent.
Totally disappointed by the Old Fashioned cocktail which was anything else but that.
D. B.
Very friendly, food great can't do enough for you been coming back for a good few years.
A. B. T.
The name hilariously points out that most of we Brits are not polyglots! When I return to London, I am always amused to be served at a restaurant that proudly bears the name of the subject of that famous Courbet painting, "L'Origine du Monde".
Aside from that, this is real pizza. Probably the best you can find in London. The rest is excellent too, all that I have tasted. And it is served in real Italian portions, which are not nouvelle cuisine tiny dishes, for a change.
C. S.
Such a lovely restaurant. Fabulous food, great atmosphere, super staff.
B. B.
Wow! Friendly Italian waiters, great atmosphere and ambience, and some of the best Italian food I have ever had. The Tagliatelle Fungi was awesome!
S.
Very nice and cosy Italian restaurant. The portions are big and taste delicious. Service was great too!
Y. S.
Excellent Italian restaurant. Many local Italian go there. Very friendly staff, always welcomed. The portions are very big and satisfied. Highly recommended.
C. L.
Generous portions and top quality Italian food make this Limehouse's only destination restaurant. Try the tortellini special if it's on
M. D.

a. a.
Lovely joint for authentic Italian food, lovely laid back atmosphere and delicious food...
N. L.
One amazing experience. Plenty of food massive portions. Great friendly service. Brilliant atmosphere. Reasonably priced.
P. V.
Nice home cooked Italian food. Friendly waiters and great service. Nice in the summer where the 'patio' doors are opened and you can sit outside.
F. P.
Simple but authentic. Try a Double Tomato Marinara, or a Smoked Ham & Pineapple (it works!)
R. A.
Great food. Large portions. Nice wine. Prices for London. Love atmosphere. They remember you...
T. W.
Excellent food, great wines and reasonable prices. Recommended by a local we met in a pub, they weren't wrong!
L. Z.
Great service, great food, great prices, great design. Only thing that really bothered me was the smoke. Employees and customers smoke right outside the door. And walk the smoke back in.
J. H.
My favourite Italian restaurant. My go to place to take friends and family. Always have a great time and leave feeling very full ! Perfect place to go for a birthday.
M. D.
Amazing food and lovely service! We had a great time and will definitely come back.
J. S.
Incredibly fresh pizza and al dente pasta, with great (and quick!) service. Vegetarian options are limited, but very good.
R. v. d. B.
Gorgeous pizza's and pasta's. Original and traditional. Waiters can be a little grumpy, but who cares, the food is worth it ;-)
P. J. W.

Amazing food. Bit on higher side on the pocket. But the food is totally worth it. With some good wine selecrion.
P. C.
Had spaghetti Bolognese and house red. Something so satisfying about simple food done incredibly well. Service excellent to match the food.
A. A.
Very delicious food and big meals.
However there was no ambiance and meals were a bit pricey.
T. K.
Great servings sizes. I wish we weren't heading for tier 4!
R. K. (. L.
