Reviews of Numero Uno
L. T. D.
It is a great little place that serves simple classic Italian dishes.
My favorite is grilled Tbone steake.
Staff are very professional and friendly .
I would incareg everyone to give this place a try.
Book in advance as it is busy most of the time.
P. F.
Excellent Italian restaurant. Everything was good. Good portions too. Very happy.
F. L.
Fairly exemplorary experience at an Italian local. The ragu especially was tremendous with delicate fennel flavours and deep stewed notes. I enjoyed the amosophere and decor.
I deduct a star because the house red was unpleasant. For 19.50 you deserve to at least enjoy your wine and it was served at a very warm temperature.
R. C.
A fantastic restaurant, kind and polite staff makes you feel welcomed with every visit. By far the best Italian restaurant this side of the river.
P. C.
Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and typically italian! Just watch the wine list. I was caught asleep at the wheel and paid £44 for a £12 bottle of red 🤦🏻♂️

Came here for the second time and I didn't enjoy it like before. Tortellini were not homemade as said in the menu and the ragú had a fennel seed taste which shouldn't.
Starter were very good.
First time here:
Lovely dinner and lovely environment. Delicious starters, one with bresaola and bufalo mozzarella, the other one with fresh porcini mushrooms! I asked for some olive oil and the quality was great! They have a rich menu with a big choice of home made pasta and other main courses. Ingredients are all fresh and portions are very generous. The staff is nice and friendly and wine choice is vast and high quality. It's a shame they don't have home made deserts , if they did my vote would definitely be a 5 starts! I would recommend this restaurant for dates and special occasions. I would suggest the owner to serve home made deserts too to give customers a full sublime experience. We spent 80£ for 2 starters, two mains, a desert wine and coffee.
G. L.
You can’t go wrong with this original, authentic Italian spot. Great prices for the quality, and portion sizes are generous.
S. C.
Food is always out of this world. Staff are amazing. Best Italian food in london!
S. H.
Traditional Italian food, staff could be a bit more friendly though!
B. P.
My favourite place to eat, love this place, love the food, the wine selection, the staff, everything about it, highly recommended!
V. T.
The food is excellent and the portions generous. However, the service is poor, inside it's very noisy, the waiting staff would tidy up and dry the cutlery just behind you, in front of everyone (not in the kitchen as it should be), very loud. Not the best place to chill out and not the most friendly staff.
B. W.
Absolutely incredible food, quite possibly the best Italian meal I've ever had!! The service was excellent, staff were very nice, food came really quickly, the restaurant itself was so pretty. Strongly recommend
T. M.
Great local Italian restaurant, the quality has been the same for years and the waiters always friendly. They may not be as talkative sometimes but this is when they are busy and that is expected. The Carpaccio is amazing along with the Tagliatelle alla Zenzero and the pasta with Truffles is a must.
F. L.
This nice restaurant used to be one of my favourite spots in northcote road. Recently the prices have gone up significantly and the quality is slipping away. I hope they will find their way again!
H. H.
One of the best local Italian restaurants I've been to in London
R. B.
An outstanding neighbourhood Italian restaurant with excellent service. Offers a diverse menu of traditional favourites and chef specials that ensures there’s something for everyone (no pizza, however). Great for families and for a night out with your partner and friends.
A. H.
From the moment you step into this place you feel like you’re on holiday. It’s everything eating Italian should be from the seating to the atmosphere to the food and drink. Truly a family run restaurant. Prices have had a hike recently (2018/2019) but it’s Northcote road and worth every penny to keep this little gem running as smoothly as it does. Top of the list if I want to take friends or family out for a local quality night out.

Just the greatest, the food is amazing, the staff are amazing. There were a few tetchy customers there today, I was quite surprised by people's lack of understanding that these guys were under pressure and starting something new with the tables outside. I thought they were doing a great job under challenging circumstances and the food, which is always authentic and amazing, was perfect.
R. F.
Had dinner here with my Mum and partner. Service was really good. Waiters were helpful in their opinions on what to order as well as having a sense of humour. Food was very good. Had the calamari starter and calf's liver for mains. Partner had veal in mushroom sauce for mains and Mum had the calamari for mains.
C. V.
Good atmosphere, seating and service.
Yet the food was not up to my expectation: the burrata was actually a small sized mozzarella (not creamy at all) and the seafood pasta were OK but not great (seafood had no flavour, surely it was frozen).
R. L.
Just fantastic from start to finish. Where do I start? In brief, superb, professional service, quality well executed, traditional menu, made with love and pride, family run friendly, warm and inviting local Italian restaurant. Just go for yourself, you wont be disappointed, tantalise those taste buds!
T. R.
Great food, very tired inside, also the fact they have loads of Amex stickers inside but refuse to take it because of the percentage Amex charges the merchant… but cheeky.
L.
Awesome food and atmosphere! If you can't get to Italy due to covid.... go here :D
A. M.
Great food, traditional Italian. I would say it's authentic, but that would only be judging against other Italian restaurants. The prices are reasonable for the quality you get, though not cheap (food for 4 people, including a couple of desserts and wine was £100)
P. S.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was mouthwateringly delicious. The wine was fabulous too as was the waiter service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
A. P.
The food was absolutely delicious, definitely the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The white truffle ravioli was spectacular and the service first class. The only thing I would say is that whoever is responding to the negative reviews on here on behalf of the restaurant should try and do it a bit more professionally.
C. B.
Good choice of food, we had Sea Bass,Veal and Lobster linguine. Young male waiter excellent service. Only minus was a man on the next t table was smoking and we didn't get complimentary Limonchello like some tables.
C. W.
Delicious food. Lovely staff. Worth a visit.
R. G.
Smart, lively & clean Italian joint that serves some great pasta dishes - really gives you a sense of being overseas
A. C.
This Italian restaurant is superb. The service is excellent the food amazing and although a bit expensive worth eve5 Penny. Great menu a lot of choice and very good wine list.
A. S.
Went here with friends for dinner over the weekend, and found the place to be decently full, and buzzing with activity. I found the level of service wanting (there seemed to be only 2 waiters even when the restaurant was full), but the older waiter was entertaining - he kept chatting with us and the other patrons through the evening. The food was OK.
H. W.
Been going to this place fro special occasions ever since i was a little kid - even know some of the staff as friends now and it will always hold a special place in my heart. So friendly and warm and the food is delicious and fancy but also incredibly wholesome, like grandmas special secret recepie. My personal favourite is the wild boar ragu, its an absolute win, and everything about it warms you from the heart.
N. D.
Can't really be faulted. Fantastically friendly service. Delicious cuisine that felt like a good home cooked meal and a very reasonably priced restaurant. Well worth a visit if in the area!
E. D.
amazing food for honest price
N. M.
Great traditional Italian food served in a pretty and charming small restaurant in Clapham. Good service throughout our long lunch and not a raised eyebrow. Will definitely be going back soon.
F. W.
lovely old school italian so relaxed and comfortable and reminds me of the italian restaurant i went to when i was little in tooting, it was so sweet and memorable to have a lovely feast with my housemates the lobster spaghetti was so good in a homey way the tomato sauce was infused with the flavour of the lobster and it was a huge wonderful endless joy of a dish
P. M.
Slightly disappointed. Lots of the best dishes you want from an Italian restaurant but not quite the quality to justify the price.
A. S.
Nice atmosphere and buzzy, wine selection is very good and the food was quite nice, however it's a little pricey and I didn't see the need to add a £3 cover charge onto the bill at the end considering we'd eaten a full meal with wine.
R. P.
Service was spot on, and they have some really excellent dishes, but others were a bit hit & miss. I was looking forward to trying the Lobster pasta, but it was so over seasoned as to be almost inedible.
J. S.
Really nice. Sat outside, good service and lovely food.
P. M.
