You’ll never be hungry like a wolf when you eat at this adorable restaurant serving authentic Italian food in the heart of Stoke Newington.
I've eaten here at the weekend and had a delicious brunch, we went back for dinner which was top notch.
We spotted a celebrity from Game of Thrones whilst dining!
Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful interior, great location and fabulous food.

Had been wanting to go here since they opened and went a few months ago and we were not disappointed. As it says in the description the food served is Italian food but not as what you'd find in other chains. We didn't recognise some of the items on the menu but everything we ordered was delicious and was presented beautifully.
Service is very friendly and quick and the venue itself is small but cosy and welcoming.
J. P.
Good neighbourhood Italian. Expensive for the portion size. Favourite was the untraditional melanzane but it too was very small. They could work on being more welcoming.

London is saturated with restaurants and a whole bunch of those are Italian. There are only a handful of restaurants where I have thought that the food is on par with my travels through Italy. Lucky for me, WOLF is definitely one of them.
WOLF is situated on Stoke Newington High Street with a modern and light interior with smaller and larger tables as well as coves with sofas and bar stools. They pride themselves on being a neighbourhood restaurant focusing on local produce and building relationships with their customers – my kind of place.
Their fish is sourced from the family run fishmongers Sutton and Sons opposite WOLF and they make their own vodkas, gins and infusions in house and love experimenting with the cocktail menu making it sound out from the rest.
We visited on a weekend so were spoilt for choice with the brunch and lunch menu – WOLF have clearly spent time considering the best seasonal produce and what works well on the menu by narrowing it down to 5 or 6 choices (Gordon Ramsey would be proud!)
We had the Fennel Sausage with Deep Fried Egg, Flat Gnocchi & Caramelised Tropea Onions from the brunch menu – I loved that it was different from more generic brunch dishes and the sausage was so flavoursome. We also chose the Bucaatini with Venison Shin Porcini Ragu & Parmesan and Truffle Potatoes with Parmesan, Rosemary and Truffle Oil from the ‘Plates’ menu – this was seriously good – perfect al dente pasta with a decent portion of delicious ragu.
As I mentioned above, the cocktail menu was really impressive, focusing on the homemade gin and infusions and, given it was Christmas, we definitely deserved a little tipple. The Mora Nicolino Homemade apple and blackberry gin, lemon, cloudy apple juice, pear and blackberry puree and the Fresco Cetriolo Wolf’s gin infusion, elderflower liquor and lime were both so fresh and tasty. Instead of dessert we had two more cocktails – a twist on an espresso martini with mezcal and the Zucca Sour – Wolf’s Spiced Pumpkin Vodka, lemon, egg white and syrup, which were fantastic.
Instead of trying different cocktails you could also make your brunch bottomless for £18 with the choice of Wolf’s twist on a Gin Spritz, Bellini or Bloody Mary.
WOLF is absolutely worth a visit with fantastic food at reasonable prices and a lovely ambiance with attentive and friendly service.
Also check out WOLF’s pop up in Broadgate Circle by Liverpool Street!

My boyfriend and I came here last night and had a wonderful evening. Food was delicious, slightly on the pricey side, but well worth it as it was good quality and portion sizes. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Very nice cocktails too!
N. G.
Staff are so friendly and welcoming it makes a huge difference, and the food is amazing. The prices are a little high £20 a main but the quality is high and the portions are really big. We shared a Primi (smaller main course) and had a secondi each. And we were satisfied. The menu is not too big so your not spoilt for choice. Would definitely go back.

An exquisite meal in a delightfully relaxed atmosphere. I couldn't find a fault with the experience at all.
L. T.
Really yummy food and a nice atmosphere. Food is quite rich so worth bearing in mind when you order.
S. B.
Stunning Italian food on small plates. I could not recommend this place enough.
It is slightly on the pricey side given the smaller size of the dishes, and everything is so delicious you will want more and more. Be prepared to spend £30-40 per head for a good meal, not including drinks.
K. O.
Amazing restaurant with delicious food and very lovely staff. It truly gives the saying 'sharing is caring' its meaning. The concept of small plates to share is really fun and you get to taste a lot of different meals. Highly recommend!

Wonderful food and brilliant service. The food was delicious and the experience as a whole was delightful. Many thanks to our considerate and helpful waiter who talked us through the options and made some excellent suggestions. Had a great bottle of wine and the meatballs amazing.

We stumbled across this place whilst walking down Stoke Newington High Street. Quite subtle from the outside, but once inside it's got great atmosphere and amazing food!! We tried the burrata, a few other sharing starters and then a main each. Both of which were absolutely fantastic with lovely wines. What a gem!
H. O.
Delish! The food was very, very good. The service was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive and the decor is high ed for Stokey, it feels like a special meal, a real treat. We had a table for 6 people, 2 courses including wine and service for under £240, a bargain. will definitely come again. No wonder it's my (very fussy) mother's favourite.
N. W.
Delicious food, and solid wines. Definitely easy to rack up a bill but for a neighbourhood place to spoil yourself, it's great. Service was very friendly albeit with a few minor errors along the way. Recommend the gnocchi!
C. S.
Amazing service by Danielle, our Italian waiter. His homemade limoncello was so delicious we had two each. The food and the atmosphere were great too. Really nice night out for two. :-)
R. S.
Absolutely exceptional food. Beautifully presented, seasonal, delicious flavours. One of the best meals I have had for a long time. I couldn't recommend it more.
S. H.
Incredible food, awesome service and the restaurant itself is impeccable (very instagrammable). I arrived on a Sunday afternoon with a lovely lady in tow and we sat by the window drinking an exquisite wine as we eagerly waited for the clock to strike 6 and food to be served. They were still creating the menu for the evening until 5.30 (as the food is seasonal) but it was a mind-blowing gastronomic delight when it arrived! Highly recommend for any occasion! Fantastic date spot!
C. M.
We booked Wolf restaurant for lunch following our wedding. Having arrived from the registry office slightly anxious and overwhelmed, their warm hospitality allowed us to quickly relax. Nothing was too much for them, they managed us piling in slightly late with wheelchairs and pushchairs. They kept drinks flowing and plate after plate of amazing food coming out: all in the insane heat. They catered for our gluten free guests, no problem. I can not recommend them enough - for a meal for two or for a big party. 10/10 for service and 10/10 for the food and drink!
C. R.
My second time here and delighted that it was open on a Monday. Service was great, friendly and it seems the slight delay (at my previous visit) in the kitchen has now been sorted. My pasta was deeply satisfying and my partner's fish delicious. Add a nice wine menu and good value- I can't recommend highly enough!
J. W.
Absolutely amazing food. The primi dishes were especially good. Authentic Italian not just limited to the go to dishes we all know and love. Good value and great service. A gem in Stoke Newington.
A. S. (.
Very nice indeed, but very expensive. The waiters were very helpful we wanted to know what something on the menu was. Not a very big selection for vegetarians, and some obscure words for ham in the descriptions so it was difficult to know what was vegetarian and what wasn't. Dishes were all rather salty for our three tastes. Very expensive - £15 for a vegetarian pasta dish, even a really nice original one, is over the top! And why can't sparkling water be served in small quantities, rather than 750 ml bottles?
G. K.
They serve “good gastro-pub food”, alongside a poor wine menu, in an average atmosphere with relatively high prices. It’s not a pub though; therefore 3 stars.
F. M.
My wife and I went on a Friday at around 7pm without a booking and got a seat (luckily!). The service was great and the food was decent (although my ragu was a bit too salty for my preference). I'd definitely recommend as it's a nice local place for good Italian food. I would make sure you book.
A. W.
Everything we ate was fresh and terrifically tasty with flavours to blow your mind! Great service too, staff were full of knowledge, warm and friendly. I might add, I also really enjoyed the music too, rocksteady followed by some great soul.
Pretty much my perfect Saturday afternoon.
G. G.
Delicious food that comes in good size portions and is reasonably priced. Service is fantastic (Gioia was especially welcoming and accommodating :)) and atmosphere is super cool. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back
P. P.
Very welcoming staff, relaxed atmosphere with good music. LOVED our brunch food and coffee was also great. Had tiramisu with orange shavings for dessert and wasn’t disappointed. Reasonably priced, would highly recommend and will return for more! Good for group dinners or a cosy time with a friend. Thank you!
A. B.
The restaurant is nice and the staff are friendly, albeit a little bit new to serving; it took a while to get the right cutlery while the food was getting cold and they cleared away at least 2 unfinished drinks.
The quality and taste of the food doesn't quite reach the price tag it comes with.
A nice experience, but it needs some refining and a new approach to the menu.
M. W.
The food here is incredible. The pasta is superbly fresh and their dishes taste exquisite. We really especially enjoyed the rabbit papperdele ragu which had such a lovely, rich sauce. Wines are great here too. The price is quite high, but you really are getting top quality food here so it's worth it. Service is also very good.
M. T.
Very nice food but don't go there if you're hungry - some of the portions are laughable. More than £1.50 per bite of gnocchi on my plate, don't know how they think customers will accept that outside of Mayfair. Server was apologetic and offered us an digestif on the house, but it seemed they were pretty used to this feedback
B. R.
Have made a few trips here and never disappointed - absolutely delicious food, great drinks menu and excellent service. Can't wait to visit again soon :)
D. N.
The food here was really very good. Excellent portion size, decent price for the quality. The truffled potatoes are amazing, they came recommended by a friend. We had two starters, two mains, a side, two desserts and a bottle of wine for £110.
M. D.
Went here this evening for my birthday. It's the second time I've been and both times have been outstanding food. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and my girlfriend said she had the best cocktail she's ever had! Definitely going back here.
A.
My favourite restaurant in the whole of Stoke Newington. My partner and I go here every 3-6 months as a treat and it’s always faultless. The food is brilliant, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We love it!
o. w.
Great spot for lunch or dinner! Gorgeous interior, amazing service and the food was to die for. We wanted everything on the menu. The prosecco lunch was great value as they’re so good at topping up! Thank youuuu!
L. R.
OMG!!! I don't remember everything we ordered. All that stayed with me was: it all tasted melt in your mouth great!!! The downside? The card reader machine broke down so we had to get cash from an ATM outside of the restaurant. Overall, service, ambiance, food: all great!!!
P. M.
This place serves great food (modern Italian/ European) interesting, unusial cocktails and has a very nice ambience and really lovely, friendly staff. Great for lunch or dinner, we love this place and have never been dissapointed. A real gem on the High Street! Booking recommend.
J. H.
Overall disappointing. Went for a birthday dinner and the Ragu was so salty I had to send back, the replacement tagliatelle was also over salted (though I didn’t have the heart to complain again) and the flavours just weren’t there. Would expect better from an Italian restaurant!! The burrata on the other hand was fab and the service was great, although for a fairly classy place I’d of expected a bit more than a cheap desert between two to compensate for a let-down main course...
N. C.
Trendy hipster dining, but portions are hugely disappointing, as are the plates of food. Often one or two nice element usually let down by something.
We had - lamb pulled braised with polenta - lamb was nice but not enough. Polenta was not great
pamagiana - too small
L. N.
SO good! Stumbled across Wolf whilst out on a Sunday & had some pasta, burrata and a gnocchi dish which were all faultless. Gioia and the team were great - friendly & attentive. Will definitely be returning!
D. F.
Food and drink was delicious. Great service in a lovely restaurant. The only negative was that on the night it was incredibly hot in there (was a warm day) to the point of being uncomfortable.
Don't let this put you off what was otherwise a gorgeous dinner.
C. T.
Without doubt one of best italian in town. Been there several times birthday meals, entertaining friends and such and left with a smile everytime. The menu is not huge but variety is just perfect and changes every season which;dishes are cooked with seasonal produce and very very very tasty, a good selection of wines and friendly staff. Will be back soon for sure
a.
Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday last night. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, and it's a really nice atmosphere inside with a gorgeous living wall. Staff were kind enough to put birthday candles in the chocolate torte too! Especially loved the tagliatelle with fennel sausage and the complimentary foccacia. Happy to have stumbled upon this local neighbourhood Italian restaurant and will be back.
G. P.
I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed. We went on a recent Thursday and there weren't many diners. The service was begrudging, bordering on rude, and certainly indifferent. There are some nice aspects to the food but there are also rookie errors: my steak and sides were tepid, my starter of buffalo contained three sweet accompaniments that were overkill. My husbands starter and main contained so much chili they overwhelmed the other flavours - or the other flavours hadn't been thought through. There are some nice aspects to the food but this restaurant needs to focus much harder on service and getting the dishes absolutely right. Nobody noticed were were leaving - they were chatting amongst themselves. Come on, be professional!
S. &. M.
Gem on Stoke Newington High Street. A lovely osteria with authentic, tasty Italian food. The Jerusalem artichoke arancini and the pasta with beef ragu were divine, cooked to perfection. The burata, on the other hand, was quite intense and very smoky. Not to everyone's taste. On another note, staff are friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. It was a cold winter day and the restaurant could have been a bit warmer, but we'll certainly be back another time for some quality Italian food and wine. Highly recommended!
S. D.
Authentic and tasty meal, nice house wines. A little slow on drinks, but we were a big party in a Friday night. One to return to for a more intimate dinner.
s.
Love it love it love it!
Since my boyfriend and I discovered this gem in the heart of Stoke Newington, we couldn't not fall in love with it.
The atmosphere, the staff and, most importantly, the food is a gift from Heaven. Everything is just amazing, from the Paccheri with 8-hs Beef Ragu (please never remove it from the menu) to the Burrata, without forgetting the amazing Tiramisù (my boyfriend doesn't like tiramisù in general, but this one...he cannot live without it!).
If you are in Stokey, a trip to Osteria Wolf is definitely a must!
Thank you Osteria Wolf, we'll swing by very soon! :)
S. W.
Utterly delicious modern seasonal Italian food with fantastic wines and cocktails. The dishes we had were simple but wonderful - rich venison pappardelle, and buttery artichoke heart tonnarelle. Cocktails were original, inventive, and well-balanced. Lovely. We'll be back soon.
L. C.
Interesting and eclectic menu riffing on Italian Osteria classics. Great and affordable wine list and a decent mix of cocktails. I’d recommend the cheesy chips.
J. P.
We had an amazing experience in this spot. We enjoyed the wonderful vibes and the food. The waiters are very amiable. I’m glad we eventually decided to visit this restaurant.
E. H.
Can be a bit hit and miss. Went couple of nights ago and our starter and main were fantastic then our desert, panna cotta, was appalling; claggy and sticky and heavy so I sent it back. They took it off the bill but I’m surprised that the kitchen let it be served in the first place.
s. b.
Well considered interior, tastefully decorated and nice use of materials. The menu read as fresh, simple and seasonal which is always a good start. My pasta dish with Dorset white crab, brown crab butter and confit garlic was delicious. The Tagliolini had a good firm texture and there was a generous amount of white crab meat, just the right amount of heat from the chilli and the brown butter added richness.
Rainbow chard was perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned.
Service felt a little impersonal but that's just me and my old NYC expectations.
I shall return soon to explore the other options on offer.
Oh and the beer list needs a good injection of inspiration as well. Peroni and Menebrea just don'tt cut it in today's age.
H.
Love the new menu, lots of delicious small (and not so small!) plates, and a great new wine list. My favourite neighbourhood restaurant
R. M.
Top notch dining experience, food tasted very fresh, cocktail expertly prepared, restaurant ambience superb . As one reviewer eloquently put it, food and setting are very Instagram-able. Wolf sets a superior bar for modern Italian dining in London.
S. P.
My new favourite brunch place in Stoke Newington! I’ve been for dinner before which was great but they really excelled themselves with the brunch. Cracking cocktails, great service and incredible food, I’ll definitely be back!
N. G.
Remarkable food! Balanced, intense flavours and attentive service. Authentic Italian cuisine in a beautifully fitted out space. Loved it and will return.

Incredible food, best I’ve had in a long time. Very very impressed. Also, five star service - shoutout to Lydia who smashed it out the park 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The food is amazing right down to the presentation, The service amazing. Price is perfect. I had 2 starters 2 mains and a bottle of wine for under £100.
I will 100% be going back and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
P. W.
Excellent dishes. Friendly ambiance and welcome even though we ate late. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. An elegant classy restaurant at a reasonable price.

Very nice atmosphere and service. Food doesn't arrive in 5 min so you've got time to spend a good moment (quite rare in London).
Food is very good and made with seasonal and quality products.
Wine is a bit expensive
S. I.
Beautifully decorated restaurant with very nicely prepared Italian food. The burrata was delicious. I'd give it 5 stars but they had completely run out of deserts.
G. D. P.
The food at Osteria Wolf is pretty amazing! However, what made our dinner truly special was the kind and professional assistance of Daniele serving us good wine, his home-made limoncello, and laughter!

Everything we tried was delicious. Waiting staff were great too, but you probably need more than two on weekends.
We'll definitely be coming back.
