Reviews of Pastaio Pasta Restaurant Carnaby
N. V.
Went here for a quick bite before a show. I had the lobster pasta at £21. It was creamy and had a nice tomato base but did lack flavour. At best it was worth £15. No reservation was needed, and the service was very speedy. The wine options were all from wine on tap, which does reduce the quality of course. I would rate a 3.5, as the rest of the dishes seemed to be better value for money.
R. P.
Wow what a wonderful taste. It's a little expensive but wonderful. My friends and I came here. We ate a variety of dishes and every dish great taste 😋. The food is wonderful. The taste is good. I like this restaurant.
Great taste with good service and clean environment 🙂. That is why I like this . we visited many times and taste same every time
H. B.
This was a lovely location down a side street with lots of other restaurants and a great atmosphere (if you sit outside). However, we were told the pasta would go cold very quickly so opted to sit inside, which was also great. The service was lovely and we were looked after. We’d seen lots of adverts on Instagram for this place but were slightly underwhelmed by the food. It was good but didn’t blow us away. I’d say good value for money!

We stumbled across Pastaio by chance at around 9pm one evening, when many restaurants nearby were closing. We were very hungry, and pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, warm and friendly service, and reasonable prices. The rosemary foccacia was delicious and the wild garlic pesto was a stand out.
R. N.
Lovely relaxed restaurant setting. Perfect for a quick catch up meal with a friend. We shared 3 pasta dishes between 2 of us which was the perfect amount. We went for the kale pesto with burrata, Cacio E Pepe and sausage ragu (which was my personal favourite). All were delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely come here again.
K.
Generally, the food was great. The Focaccia was quite salty but got it sorted quite quickly. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable.
C. C.
Exceptional service from our server Darcey who was amazing all evening and so lovely. Enjoyed sitting outside with the heaters and blankets. The wines are gorgeous and food is delicious.
A note for management - the only thing I would improve is portion size and the food was cold coming out. When people think of pasta they think a big hearty plate, it was more a starter size. I was left a big hungry and wished the food was hot coming out.
Beautiful restaurant though will be back!

Went to this place in order to try out a new Italian place. The reviews looked really good. We ordered aubergine caponata and thought it might become my new favourite pasta place. Caponata with rosemary focaccia was heavenly. If it was the review for small plates, I would rate it 5 🌟
But then we got the pasta dishes. We ordered three different ones on the menu and all based on recommendations. Staff was very lovely and thoughtful. However the dishes itself didn't hit the mark. Don't get me wrong, the pasta was good but not compared to the likes of padella, flour and grape.
And to finish, the tiramisu was an absolute bliss. One of the best, Naples style, in London.
M. B.
The restaurant is really nice with a great atmosphere, not too loud nor quite. The staff is really kind and thoughtful. The pasta was okay but slightly over cooked and the squash rigatoni were more of a pasta salad rather than an actually saucy pasta.
The price are good considered the the location. I would recommend it if you are around and fancy some pasta but I think there are better pasta places around. Nevertheless a very pleasant evening!
H. F.
My sons and I just had a late lunch here, because one of them insisted that pasta here was even better than Padella’s. Not too sure about that (different kind of places), but I am sure that all the food at Pastaio tasted lovely and fresh, and was served by one of the best front of house teams ever.
Focaccia was herby and light, as was the olive oil drizzled over a creamy burrata. Caponata was dark, rich and delicious. Each of the pasta dishes - “white” bolognese, pesto and the tasty little nduja number - was perfectly seasoned and matched with the right pasta shape. Mercifully, the pasta was cooked to perfection - none of that ridiculous super al dente nonesense.
Tiramisu was spot on.
We had fun.
Thank you.

I visited last night with a group of friends for my birthday dinner. We were probably the nightmare table as everyone arrived at different times and we took a while to make decisions, however the staff were INCREDIBLE all night. We were served mainly by a younger team member with long blonde hair who was absolutely lovely.
Pasta portions are a little small, but I believe that you're supposed to order 3 dishes between two, which makes sense. Flavours were great, wine was reasonably priced and their tiramisu is to die for.
All in all a great evening, I would definitely return to try more of their menu.
A. M.
Saw this place on Tiktok & decided to give it a try. We booked outside seating and although it's in busy Carnaby Street it was still lovely, we had blankets on our seats and were under outdoor heating so it was all very cosy. The staff were great and so attentive and friendly and the food was 10/10 every dish was absolutely delicious!! I've already recommended it to my friends & family and am planning my next trip back.
J. R. R.
Amazing deco , place to be for a dinner with friend please have a deep look I’ve the menu multiple options are there as you want
Advice take a reservation

I am not too sure what the hype on pasta was all about? Average pasta, some was freshly made and some using packets. We only liked the cheesy spaghetti out of the few we tried. No chairs, gotta sit on stools which is not too comforting. Great marketing - could do with matching food quality and choices
A. P.
Good flavourful food, tastes fresh. Portions are on the smaller side and suffice an individual. Nice, comfortable place for an evening out with friends or even by yourself on Carnaby Street. We were served by a very friendly member of staff and the service was outstanding. Personally the Aubergine dish won my heart and the clam spaghetti was good too, the clams a little gritty but I guess a clam wouldn't be a clam without the grit. Overall good authentic Italian food with a lovely ambience. Would have given 5 stars if a little more attention was paid to the washrooms.
N. B.
Delicious pasta, great ambience and super service... loved this place! Will definitely go again and highly recommend!
A.
Nice, cozy environment. Quick service. Really nice pasta. Especially cacio e pepe with casarecce🍝 just the portion its a bit small.
We had caccio e pepe , vegan meatballs , focaccia and buratta.
M.
The lobster was a little un-meaty😅 but the atmosphere was great and I got an outdoor seating with blankets provided! Service was superb as well but remember to book a seat before going or you’ll have to wait ~30mins!
J. L.
Great pasta restaurant in the heart of Soho. Good variety of fresh pasta dishes. Overall nice and buzzing atmosphere. The service was good. I would recommend to start a fun night out in London. The house wine was also very good.
K. B.
Really yummy food and quick service too. Recommend booking though as it was super busy, but didn't feel cramped. The prosecco, gin and raspberry slushie was great!
C. B.
Thanks to the team working there, service was fairly quick and taste of the various pastas were mind blowing. However, you can smell everything if u sit at the tables in front of open kitchen. Music volume could have been less strong. Other than that, give it a try. You wont regret.
S. L.
Had a dinner reservation here on Thursday evening. The food was fabulous. Had the lobster pasta and the anchovy pasta which were both amazing. Our waiter (I think his name was Felix) was super friendly and approachable. Great experience overall.
T. G.
Great ambiance, food, staff and prices. Try the olive bread lovely sea salt taste
A. R.
We loved eating here! We came around 16:30 on a weekday before it got busy. Outside area is comfortable and the blankets are a nice touch! Our server, Darcey, was so wonderful and friendly. She was knowledgeable and seemed the know the menu incredibly well. On our visit, the food itself was a bit cold when it came out but the menu options were good. I am happy that they had a vegetarian and vegan menu! A few more veggie options would be cool especially some veggie dessert options beyond sorbet. 4 stars for food but 5 stars for the service.
V. C.
Great place for a basic pasta, like tomato with basilica, really tasty and delicious.
However the “advanced” pastas like Bolognese are overpriced, as of me. The size of plate is the same, it has a little of meat and price 2.5x higher than a basic one. It still tastes good, but I just can’t say that it worth those money
S. C.
We went specifically for the vegan menu, which was delightful. Its very reasonably priced so you can try a few things. Everything was fresh and made to order. The courgette pasta and slushie cocktails were great. The aubergine caponata is one not to miss too!
m.
It was great! They accommodated us sooner that our reservation and the food was delish! Portion size may have been a bit smaller than we expected
E. C.
Lovely staff and atmosphere>>> really valuable and reasonable prices for inventive and delicious pasta dishes. I ordinarily think pasta is a basic dish to have when dining out. However the quality and creativity of the dishes sets them apart from the rest! :)
p. y. F.
All the dishes are extraordinary, I think I will revisit one more time before I head back to my home country ❤️
s. “. A.
Good menu, crab spaghetti was divine! The tiramisu dessert was perfect and great portion size!
S. M.
The restaurant is located in a very nice part of Soho, which is great. The food was good and was very fresh to taste! I especially loved the Amalfi lemon spaghetti pasta as the flavour was just perfect and the lemon wasn’t overpowering. The tiramisu was good portioned! The only reason why I rate it a 4 is because we felt a bit rushed at times which prevented us from spending a good amount of time in the restaurant.
T. M.
Decent pasta, decent price, nothing to rave about but it’s good (only because I travel to Italy a lot for food)
K. E.
We had a very nice waiter. The focaccia was very nice and then we had the black and white carb spaghetti.... it had nice flavour... but not the best place to go if you already really hungry. We felt the portion size was small for the price. Quite sad really
E. O.
Visited for dinner after the theatre. The restaurant inside is bright with plenty of room at the tables. The staff were courteous and very helpful when chosing food.
We shared the whipped sheep's ricotta & parsley oil for starters, served with rosemary focaccia. Mains we ate sausage ragu & the vegan meatballs. All dishes were delicious.
I'll definitely stop by for lunch next time around.
D. L.
The vegan meatballs were really good, my partner would love to go back for them. The nduja sandwich and sausage pasta I had were a little disappointing so overall 4 stars. Worth visiting for the price.
M. C.
This place is a breath of fresh air . My pasta dish was amazing . I had the slow cooked sausage and it was divine . The prices are unusually competitive for London and the only downside was I wish the portion was a bit bigger but pro rata to price it was good . I can't wait to return
A.
this pasta place is very mediocre!!!! staff were lovely and did get my order wrong but offered to fix it quickly , service was fast but food is very mediocre, but it’s nice so i can’t complain- decent portion for price, starter was nice and dessert was lovely !!! I would come here again as a treat, but there truly is nothing ‘wow’ about it
I.
Very friendly and helpful staff even when they are super packed. I liked the atmoshpere as well. My friend and I ordered the green pesto pasta (my friend really liked it) and I ordered the courgette with bread rumbs rigattoni (I didn’t like it really as it didn’t have any flavour or taste). The portions were good sizes though.
R. A.
Open kitchen. Great food at a reasonable price with good service
C. H.
Visited twice in 2 days due to how tasty the food was! Pippa and the team at Pastaio were amazing and I highly recommend. Quick caring service and amazing food - what’s not to love! Will make this a staple every time I’m in London. 10/10
P. R.
Food was so good, the service left us waiting quite a long time.
Would come back for the food though. They have a vegan menu which had about 5 options for mains, and their menu is reasonably priced considering the area they're in.
K. B.
Very slow service initially but once they swapped servers it was fine and much more attentive.
I had the Fried mozeralla, nduja and honey sandwich which was greasy/fatty and not very spicy.
And then the Palourde clams, garlic, parsely, spaghetti nero which was nice.
They only had one non alcoholic beer on offer which was disappointing.
S. H.
It was such a warm homely experience from start to end. Felt like I was going to my grandmas to look after me.
We didn’t have a booking and although it was really busy the Host on the door was really welcoming, he gave us the option to have a table for an hour and reassured that we would have food served quickly - & it was pretty fast!
Our server was a super lovely gentleman, it was just refreshing that it wasn’t a straight ‘hi can I take your order’ but more how are you to which I said I’m happy it’s Friday and he followed it up with well what’s your weekend plans to have a genuine interest and build some connection with us!
The food was delicious, felt authentic, unique flavours and fresh. My friend had so much Parmesan cheese on her pasta I was staring at it in envy - the waiter I think noticed and came over to offer the same for me. It was really attentive and sweet.
I couldn’t fault anything just a little misunderstanding with their ingredients but it was a really delightful hearty evening and we will be returning for sure again soon xx
C. C.
I had a great dinner experience here with my friend, the staff Day is really friendly and nice to take us through the menu patiently. The atmosphere is nice, the food and wine taste good, we will definitely vist here again.
J. D.
Food was great. Had a Carbonnara. Pasta was cooked right and the dish was great. Nice portion size - not too much food which I prefer. Nice venue - very vibey. Lovely to sit in the sunshine.
I. B.
Pastaio has a fantastic home made pasta menu, with the vegan one being just as big as the regular. Also, the veganuary special carbonara was AMAZING! Smokey, excellent sauce, a dream. Please make it permanent!
The pasta, the chocolate mouse, the focaccia, excellent!
S. P.
As a picky Italian, it's hard for me to find somewhere with nice and authentic food. This place has it though, with some real home cooking recipes. We had the burrata which was super creamy and well garnished. We also had the water+tomato+cheese starter which was really good. It had a chili oil on it which made for a true flavour treat.
For pasta, we had the rrouse, rabbit and pork belly agnoli, butter & sage leaves. This one was a treat, something you can't easily make at home. My friend had the Dorset mussels, linguine, garlic, courgette, white wine & 'nduja pasta. This was one spiced very well, and worked better than I thought it would with the mix of mussels and 'nduja.
For pudding I had the tiramisu which was a real treat. This is something so many places get wrong, but not here.
Overall we had a great time, along with a nice Aperol spritz.
S. G.
An excellent restaurant, perfectly located just off Carnaby Street. They don't take bookings but if you do have to wait you won't be disappointed. Delicious food, all pasta freshly made with daily specials on the boards. Great wine choices. Communal tables with lots of space for bags and coats. Great service from happy, friendly staff. Can't wait to go back
m. d.
Lively little restaurant that avoids being pretentious. Was here with a group and we shared a selection of dishes. All were good with some really standing out. Reasonable prices as well considering the location. Definitely worth a visit.
The olives are delicious!
A. S.
Lovely meal. Home made pasta. Excellent service . Good value for money. Definitely recommend and will return
S. T.
The pasta was so light and delicate, I finished my plate clean and didn't feel bloated from a carb overload. Simple and tasty flavours, this is how pasta should be. I really liked the staff there too and it had a good vibe.
Wheelchair access ✔️. There is a step to get in but they keep a ramp by the door. There is an accessible toilet, but during busy times it may be a bit difficult to get to it as people have to get up to make room for you.
Definitely recommended for quality pasta at a reasonable price (3 courses plus glass of wine for ~£27).
E. L. G.
Pastaio (meaning pasta maker!) serves fresh, delicious and affordable pasta in Soho just off Carnaby Street. They pride themselves on cooking with high quality, sustainable produce with eggs from Rodley Court in Kent, ricotta freshly made everyday in West London and organic grains and tomatoes from the southern Italian.
Their restaurant in Carnaby Street has bright, vibrant murals on the walls with (mostly) communal seating on black stools and large hanging light features. Pastaio has a relaxed, almost canteen style, to the restaurant.
Pastaio offer a small selection of white and red wine from just £4.50 a glass. They also offer four cocktails, including Aperol Spritz and Negroni for just £6-7 and prosecco slushies from just £4.50. We sipped on an Aperol and a white grape prosecco slushy during our meal.
I was dining with a vegan guest and the wonderful John talked us through the menu ticking what she could have and underlining what would need to be removed. Really great to see.
The antipasti section has 8 choices priced between £3-9.5. We were drawn to the Fried mozzarella, ‘nduja & honey sandwich (£5.5). As expected, it was served as a toastie but the nduja did not shine through as much as I hoped. It has real potential with the mixture of ingredients (especially the addition of honey) but the ratios need to change.
The Squash, red cabbage, hazelnuts & ricotta salata (which we had wihtout the ricotta to make it vegan) was a light and refreshing dish. The hazelnuts added a great texture.
There are 8 pasta dishes ranging from just £6 (amazing value for Soho) to £16.5 for seafood linguine. We opted for the Crusco Chilli, rocket, breadcrumbs, spinach spaghetti (£6) which had nutty, savoury flavours and the spaghetti was tasty and al dente.
We could not resist the Squash Ravioli, butter, sage (£12). Wow, this was amazing. The pasta was clearly freshly made with slightly al dente ravioli edges and a beautiful squash filling. With the butter and sage sauce, it was an extremely satisfying dish.
If you are looking for great pasta in Soho, Pastaio is your place! The dishes were fresh and delicious whilst not breaking the bank. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing. Pastaio also have venues in Market Halls West End and Westfield White City.
S. L.
Amazing pasta cooked al dente with just the right texture. Flavours of the pastas were very good as well, with just the right amount of seasoning. Probably the best pasta I’ve had in London and the creamy, not-too-dry Tiramisu was the perfect thing to end off Lunch with. Highly recommend and would definitely go back again!
N. I.
Service is very friendly! Especially the guy at the door, he managed to find a table in less than 5 minutes without any reservation!
Food is vey tasty! We will come back
J. M.
Good authentic Italian food and served well. Staff super efficient and very welcoming. Highly recommended for a tasty bite around town.
H. G.
Delicious pasta ☺️ I got the Sausage Malloreddus and it was nice and rich and al dente, was a little bit too salty but still great. Really good portion sizes and value too. Was able to get a seat outside under the heaters as there wasn’t much room inside.
M. H.
Small portions for fairly expensive pasta. Uncomfortable tiny tables and chairs, very short time allowed, given check after 1hr 15 minutes
E. M.
Does not feel rushed eating even though it's such a high traffic neighborhood. Excellent pastas and great veggie options for non meat eaters.
P. W.
The food quality was impeccable. We loved all the dishes especially the red prawn pasta. Totally justifiable by the price. However, our waitress kept getting our orders wrong. The really funny thing is she would always find very awkward reasons to cover up her mistakes. She got our octopus salad wrong instead she gave as the pumpkin salad. We immediately found out and asked without touching the food. She later explained to us that there are “two parts” of the octopus salad and pumpkin was the first “part”. It was really obvious because the option of pumpkin salad is right there on the menu. And then she went ahead and charged us for the pumpkin salad. We spoke to the manager and she was kind enough to take it off our bill.
B. S.
Decent pasta that was cooked well, lots of bold flavours, but it unfortunately wasn't Padella (which is slightly cheaper and is tastier). The burrata is a nice starter, and the sourdough bread was very good with a slightly malty taste to it. The desserts were also very good. Overall it's a decent experience if you like fresh pasta and happen to be in Soho but can't be bothered to make the trek to London Bridge for Padella! Their queue system is also a lot better than Padella, in that you don't have to physically line up outside, you're put into a virtual queue system where they text you when the table is ready.
m. k.
Really good quality of Italian food . Everything made fresh. I enjoyed my diner there with my wife. Staff very friendly and always with a smile . Highly recommended
H. A. M.
Pastaio is the newest site from restaurateur Stevie Parle, who already oversees the likes of Rotorino and Palatino serving plates of handmade pasta.
Small menu, casual decor and atmosphere. Pasta is fresh and tasty.
M. H.
Good place for a fast paced pasta-dinner. Short wait of 25-30 minutes on a Friday night. The pasta was pretty good and the staff was friendly and professional. Fairly priced although the portions are to the small side. Be prepared to sit on long tables next to other guests on small chairs with no backseat. The room is also very loud and the music is at high volume, so it can be tough to have a conversation without shouting depending on where you sit. All in all: good pasta for a quick meal, but not meant for lounging :-)
S. T.
Really delicious handmade pasta and cool spot (love the decor). We tried during soft opening so our bill was lighter than usual, but we also thought the portion sizes were adjusted appropriately - we hope so as the bucatini was about 4 mouthfuls worth!
C. (.
If you look for the real deal, you can go here. Fresh pasta, cooked al dente, with a good and well balanced assortment of sauces.
Starters and desserts aren't of less.
Service is kind and fast. If U go there, ask of Martina; she'll take good care of you.
F. C.
A great little Italian place which is quite popular. The menu isn't that extensive, but all the sauces and pastas are housemade and delicious. The portions are reasonable and the prices are quite low considering the food quality and restaurant location. Good for groups or solo travellers.
H. P.
This restaurant has a very nice and clean atmosphere. The taste here is very nice and delicious. I like it very much. I say that every customer who comes here likes its taste and is not disappointed.I think this is the best restaurant and it tastes great
L. H.
Really nice place in great location. Friendly staff and really reasonably priced.
I was fussy and wanted gluten free, dairy free and I Facebook messaged them to ask if their gf pasta was dairy free, they replied straightaway confining it was. Then when I got there they said all their dishes were cooked using butter but they would take out the butter for me which was great.
I had the mushroom pasta it was nice. The other had the crab and pheasant and said these were also very good.
Maybe a few more sauce options would be good but all in all was good and I would recommend for a bite to eat with friend.
U. C.
Decent food and really friendly staff! I would say it's quick and easy pasta. Portions are quite small so be mindful of that.
M. B.
Last minute lunch option. Managed to time our entry with a huge tour group. Pasta was al dente but could have done with more flavour and protein. Burrata was delicious. Friendly staff, straightforward drinks selection.
M. J.
You can try getting some antipasti and main pasta dishes, or just go for a couple of pasta dishes as we did and try them all! Great food at a very good price and with very efficient service. They also have a decent vegan and vegetarian menu, as well as gluten free options so you'll not be left wanting. Affordable price for what you get too. Only downside was the vegan dessert, of which there were only sorbets so would like to see more vegan desserts making their way onto the menu.
Y. A.
I love the sharing tables and the interior decor.
Everything was tasty, however i felt the carbonara tasted more like a cacio e pepe then the stickiness of a carbonara.
Also the dishes get cold very quick which isnt fun for a creamy cheesy pasta as it goes very hard- should be considered to have some dishes served on heated plates or even in pans to retain warmth.
S. P.
It doesn’t get better than this: a whopping skillet of six-hour slow cooked beef shin, reginette pasta and gremolata to share with a big glass of red. Absolute pasta heaven. Love, love, love.
A. F.
Popped to the soho site for a quick business lunch, we shared the pappardelle 5 hour braised lamb shank, this was to die for.
Mouth watering freshly made pasta with this deep rich broth and the slow cooked lamb that fell off the bone.
What a wonderful find in Soho.
V. L.
Molto buono! Our dining experience was delightful. Food was good and generally on point. Servings are a little small but if you order more than you think you’ll need, you’ll leave satisfied. Not the most extensive menu in the world, but it’s a nice selection. Standout dish being the cacio e pepe! I could have had a double serve hmm maybe a triple. A nice selection of wine, good service and the ambiance was pretty casual and quite relax as lots of people came the restaurant after shopping. So don’t go if your looking for an intimate Italian candle light experience. But perfect for easy breezy, fuss free dining.
J. S.
As good as everyone says - always very busy but the wait for a table usually isn't too long as people file in and out quite quickly.
Simple, fresh, delicious pasta dishes is what Pastaio specialises in and it does not disappoint. It's pasta done right, and at a shockingly reasonable price (for the area)... The sort of food that makes you realise how lacklustre your own cooking is.
B. e.
The pasta is really great, fresh and tasty but is so noisy there, really too much. I think is a place for nice food but I felt like in a dance club.
D. A.
Short menu of delicious freshly made pasta, beautiful ambiance, reasonable prices. Would give it 5 starts if wine selection was more varied. Perfect place to meet with friends for a quick meal. Recommended!
A. M.
Very nice pasta at a great price in a central location. Wonderful ambiance, only reason for 4/5 is because our drinks were forgotten but this was no big deal as the food was lovely.
A. T.
I've been to other of his restaurants but this one was a total dissapointment. The pasta was super basic I'm afraid. What saved it was the focaccia and the caponata, otherwise it would have been a 2 stars review.
K. J. Y.
Red prawn pasta was absolutely tasty. The overall experience was good except for the waiter who was responsible for my table was pretty bad. She did make a couple of mistakes in delivering correct dish and drinks but instead of admittig she kept making up excuses. Otherwise the food was delicious and ambience was decent. Located in Oxford Circus so will be able to grab drinks and visit shops at Carnaby.

I have been meaning to write this review since literally just before xmas. Me & my friend visited Pastaio following on from a tiktok review & we were not disappointed.
(The only thing I will say are the portions are slightly smaller) however the food itself.. gorgeous. The venue was also lovely & comfortable.
That aside, the main reason I am writing this review is for our host - (Reece/Rhys - so sorry, not sure which one).
Personable approach, cheery, an absolute gem. He completey topped off our entire experience & had us leaving with smiles on our faces.
Just want to say a big thank you to you.. how you handled our service was brilliant & you represented both yourself & Pastaio incredibly well. I hope you had a lovely xmas & new year!
.. Anywho.. get down to Pastaio everyone & tip your waiters!
C. W.
Lovely cosy pasta place, really great fresh pasta! No tables when we arrived and you cannot book unless there is a certain number of you, but it was fine, there was a 25 minute wait for our table, they took our details, told us to go for a drink and they text us when the table was ready, you have 10 mins to return to get your table! The Burrata and Sourdough crisp breads were amazing together and the carbonara was so creamy, brilliant find in the heart of Carnaby!
T. S.
Delicious vegan options here, amazing green pasta. I recommend abiding the plain tomato one as it's quite plain.
D. K.
Unfortunately I haven't enjoyed it as much recently. I get they the dishes are cheap but the portions are borderline ridiculous. You will need more than one dish per person.
S. M.
Treated my wife for her Birthday and have to say the customer service from all who served us were brilliant! They were very attentive and even got some freebies, free prosecco and cake! On top of that the food is delicious! If you love pasta then this is the place for you! Oh and the music playing in the background (hip hop) was a nice surprise! All in all, loved this one! Highly recommend. Thanks again to the Pastaio Carnaby St Team! See you soon! :)

Rhys is a star. Myself and my Mum had a lovely meal, made 10 times better by our gorgeous waiter Rhys. Such a lovely afternoon, he’s an asset to the restaurant. Give that boy a raise!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
D. R. S.
Loved it. Food was excellent, especially the starters - peach and tomato salad amazing. The foccacia incredible. Pasta was nice, but could have been slightly bigger portions. Nice staff and setting and reasonably priced too. Would definitely return.
N. C.
The best service, meal and experience I have had eating out in a long time! The biggest shoutout to Poppy for being so lovely - she gave us great recommendations and really understood the menu, and we really enjoyed all of the dishes we had. Thank you so much Poppy & team, we will be back soon!
N. M.
Great pasta! Our second time at this restaurant. However the portions are small, the pasta was lovely but cold! The service was not really great or friendly (we got spraied at with cleaning products while eating as the waiter was cleaning the table next to us) and it was noisy. The waiter put the bill in front of me, even my parterner asked him very clearly to get him the bill, 3x he had to ask for it. Also the bathroom was not how i would expect it at a place like Pastaio... it was quite messy and dirty.
L. A.
Highly recommended!!! Had the gluten free pasta with basil pesto and it was such a bargain, you can tell the ingredients are top notch! Our waitress Julia was very friendly and knowledgable (she even remembered my friends who ate here a month ago!) Will definitely return next time I'm in London.

Very good but not *amazing* pasta restaurant in handy just-off-Carnaby-Street location. Would be amazing if the basic but hard to master dishes like Carbonara were unctuous but they weren’t. Crab with black spaghetti and Bottarga was delicious, but other dishes were a little disappointing given the rave reviews I’d heard. Funky vibe/decor. Good service. Decent prices. A great pit stop if you’re shopping in town but there are many better Italian restaurants in London.
R. G.
Went for lunch during the week and was solid.
A few tables were occupied when we arrived at 12.30 but quicky every table was full by 1pm.
Great food and very friendly staff.
Burrata & Focaccia was delicious and fresh. And a great bowl of fresh pasta as main. I did hope to get a bit more pasta on the plate, but left happy and wouldn't rate it less.
O. Z.
Lobster linguine for 2 is superb.
J. N.
3 days in London, 2 times in this restaurant. 1st time by 'accident' and for the 2nd time we took the underground just to go there! Need to say more? Good pasta for decent price in a cozy ambiance and great service. Great!
O. O.
Great food lovely atmosphere. Had a knettle pasta was amazing. Great fresh pasta.
A. L.
Excellent fresh pasta place in Soho. Great for quick lunch. Friendly staff, funky interiors & awesome music too. Prosecco slushy is genius. Will go back.

I have been waiting to visit this pasta place for quite a while and finally today I decided to go. I went with friends and we decided to share some starters, some mains and have some drinks. We have been welcomed and seated pretty promptly (the restaurant was only half full as it was fiarly late for lunch considering the english times). Shares tables:great. Good and smiling staff: great. Nice music. Cool atmosphere. We had some drinks while deciding what to eat. The aperol spritz seemed a bit watery for my taste (I am an italian spritz perfectionist though). The appetisers were ok. Great burrata. Not particularly impressed here apart from the high prices. We pretty much tried every single pasta main. Not too long of a waiting time (pasta cooks pretty quickly): good. To be entirely honest I wasn’t impressed by neither the quality of the fresh pasta or the condiments. The only really good one was the carbonara (the guanciale was just spectacular). Pasta a bit overcooked for my taste. Deserts were really good. Especially the pear and almond tart. Overall quite good but I have had better. Maybe a bit too many expectations from my side. Staff was great and everything was lovely. Prices are fairly high for what we had but I was aware of that. 4 out of 5.
C. C.
Very cosy venue with friendly staff. Food was great but I personally didn’t enjoy the wine but otherwise I’d be back just for the food and it’s value.
L. P.
Portions are a bit on the light side but on the whole it was pretty decent value for money. Staff were friendly and it was reasonably easy to get a table without booking.
L. P.
Pasta was delicious, the serving sizes were a bit small though, would recommend three pasta for two people
J. J.
Fresh made tasty pasta. Not the best but ok. Staffs are friendly and recommend the dish well.
D. G.
The food was good, but could be a lot better! Staff were very friendly and good explanation of the menu as most items are not in English
K.
Food was ok (pasta was quite hard, sauce average, portions small for price), service was super friendly, seating arrangement not the best (sitting on tiny stools on communal tables). Points for vegan menu and Prosecco slushies 👍
F. O.
Quick service, good value though you can't really serve a burnt sandwich with nearly no 'nduja. I didn't complain as I am against throwing food but...
V. C. M.
Thank you Ana for a good customer service, we really enjoyed the food and the place is very nice, I'll come back for sure!
C. W.
The restaurant is really nice with great atmosphere, Quality of food is perfect.
Highly recommended!!!

We had a wonderful experience here this week. Mairead was our waitress she was thoughtful & honest in her recommendations which was highly appreciated. The way she explained the dishes & helped us with our selections were incredibly useful.
A firm favourite, of the pasta, around the table was the nettle ravioli but all our mains dishes ate well with the flavours well balanced.
I wouldn't order the house wine again, it did just taste cheap. But the prosecco slushies are a definite a must.
And lastly you NEED to have their tiramisu, the sponge was incredibly light & fluffy & genuinely the best tiramisu we have ever eaten.
S. R.
Food is really good and service is quick & friendly. I had the gnocchi special. It is super busy most days so be willing to wait. I went for a dinner for one and got a table straight away though.
A. A.
Delicious pasta but the portion size could have been bigger. The music was a bit loud if you're going there to talk with a group over dinner. Great location in a buzzing area if central London.
D. C.
Good food good service
Z. H.
Lovely staff, great quality pasta and service. Would definitely come back and recommend this place!
H. S.
Good location
Respectful staff members
Tasty food
Affordable, will definitely go back
H. l.
Beautiful and cosy little restaurant with outdoor heaters, 2 blankets per person and most importantly delicious food and alcoholic slushies 😋
M. D.
Sat outside, great seat, great view of Soho life. Waiter was perfect attentive enough but also no hovering or sense of hurrying. Limited choice on the menu but everything I ate was delicious. My only fault (why 4 not 5 stars) is that the portion size of the main courses are too small. I could easily have eaten 50% more of my nettle and rabiola ravioli. Ot was sooo nice though.
I.
Very tasty pasta and worth another visit. I really like the clam pasta. The portions are a little small though so if you're feeling particularly hungry you might have to order two dishes...
J. E.
Good food and a good portion for lunch
P. T.
Having finally being able to dine out, this was the first place i decided to go based on all the reviews. A friend and i went to the Soho one. The pasta arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. and was absolutely delicious. However the whole experience was like speed dating and felt super rushed. We weren't able to have a conversation over dinner and drinks. We were rushed with our drinks, rushed with our dinner and rushed with our dessert, all of which were cleared from the table before we even had time to decide if we were actually done. It felt that Pastaio were focused on seating as many diners as possible and it left me not wanting to go back as the joy of sitting and having a nice meal has been taken away.
p. s.
Food was good but a bit disappointed since the online menu was not up to date. The restaurant is located in central London and people from all over London might want to visit the restaiurant after having a look at their online menu. But dishes mentioned in the online menu are not available when you actually visit the place. Otherwise, food was good but the portion size was quite small.
C. J.
Fab food at an affordable price, brilliant atmosphere and fast service. Couldn’t ask for better!

Came here for husband's birthday lunch on Monday just past. Wasn't expecting much as a lot of London restaurants aren't very friendly to tourists especially with a toddler in tow - we were very pleasantly surprised, the staff were absolutely lovely (served by a helpful taller man and a warm polite woman full of smiles and help). The kids menu was the best I've seen, stuff for picky eaters (plain pasta with butter and parmesan) as well as stuff for the more adventurous kids and comes with a veg pot (that was actually fresh) and a scoop of ice cream and my daughter actually finished a meal for the first time in months. Partner and I's meals were also delicious (the waitress was very patient answering my questions about the menu as I didn't know what some of the words meant), I had a lemony thing and husband had a sausage thing and they brought out a lovely tiramisu with a candle in it for hubs birthday. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed but still felt refined at the same time making it a lovely meal out and we would definitely come here again either as a family or as a date night and wouldn't even feel guilty for a second about not trying somewhere new in the city of restaurants. Next time we are in London, we will definitely be back.
R. O.
Tasty food but the portions are a little on the small side. Drinks very reasonably priced and the prosecco slushies were lovely!
R. L.
Probably the best tortellini I've ever had (definitely try the black truffle variety)! Affordable and amazing. If only this were a sit-down restaurant...
J. C.
Great pasta, focaccia and beer with a great atmosphere. Would recommend for anyone that likes good Italian food.
O. L.
Nice Italian restaurant.
A. N.
Good food, fast service and interesting drink options. Lovely sourdough antipasto.
o. p.
This is in the Carnaby street. Nice, cozy environment. Delicious food and service was lovely. Pasta is fresh and delicious.
E. D. S.
Me and my friend visited pastiao on 2/09/21 our waitress was MAIREAD. She was so helpful and gave great suggestions. She was so bubbly and cheered us up. Glad she was our waitress !
L. S.
Came here quite regularly (before lockdown) as service is always very good and I love the green spaghetti. However, am getting a little tired of having to send the food back because it's served luke warm. Others diners have said this too. On my recent visit I ordered the carbonara because lots of good reviews, but not my experience. Most Italian restaurants serve carbonara with tagliatelle which i prefer and the guanciale was full of fat & way too salty, so won't be ordering it again. Aubergine starter was good though. Sat outside, Carnaby area almost deserted. Sad times.
N. P.
Good location and we had very nice waiter looking after us.
I did feel as if I could have made the same dish myself at home however so the portion and quality did not correlate with the high price. It is a busy place so its loud, which is to be expected. There are benches like you are sitting in a beer garden and wine isn't served in a bottle but this restaurant isn't trying to be fancy, but just so you know. You will be sitting next to lots of other strangers so come here if that doesn't bother you.
Overall: food isn't badly cooked but its pricey and you may have to get a bit uncomfortable when its busy but a great place for a quick comforting meal.
Y.
Food is delicious but I wish some of the portions (like their filled pasta of the week) could be bigger.
F. B.
Best vegan pasta I’ve ever had! Actually everything we had was on point. My only complaint is that most of the chairs didn’t have backs so it wasn’t very comfortable.
V. G.
Great service and food in the centre of London. The carbonara is amazing!
K. D.
There is only ever one or two things u can eat that are veggie but it's always good if you like proper Al dente pasta.
My glass of wine broke though and they didn't replace it.
A. A.
Fabulous food and so well presented, great and friendly staff, thank you all the way from Saudi Arabia !
S. S.
Some really nice dishes (aubergine and apasargus starters, spinach spaghetti main), amalfi lemon spaghetti a little disappointing. Good cocktails. Service not that attentive but was a busy Friday.
V. L.
Great atmosphere if you're ok with communal tables and don't mind loud spaces. The pasta dishes are small but delicious and not very expensive. Service was incredibly quick, it took all of two minutes between ordering and the food coming out.
K. Y.
This restaurant will please you, at the very least. I had a great time with my girlfriend. I ordered the spinach ravioli with butternut AMAZING! My girlfriend was unsure about her main (mushroom and garlic something) so I ended up finishing hers. She told the waiter who then recommended a dessert she would love to make sure she enjoyed her stay. The Apple Pocket. The waiter Tobias was perfect. Nick the manager oversaw our experience was very nice. This is now our go to Italian! Going again in a few weeks.
J. J.
Great service during a late afternoon meal. The waitress was extremely helpful in offering suggestions and recommendations.
I ended up going with a salad alongside the mozzarella ravioli. This was just the right amount of food for me but for others it may not be enough.
The balance of seasoning plus fresh ingredients made for an excellent meal.
C. N.
Really good quality and very professional staff, especially Anna and Kamil, guys you are great!
D. J. P.
Food is really good, but overpriced and way to small portions. Only few dessert choices but really good tiramisù
R.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who likes pasta. It is inexpensive, has a great atmosphere and probably the best value for money. Some restaurants can charge up to £70 for pasta nowhere near as nice as this. Particularly enjoyed carbonara and wild mushroom pasta. The portions are not the biggest, but it is definitely worth it. I have created lists for different cities with my favourite restaurants, shops and attractions which you can find on my profile page.
E. m.
Food is nice and staff is really helpful with the menu and what to go for if you're unsure.
R. B.
A great restaurant for a quick meal that is good value for money. I will definitely visit again. The portions appear small but are filling and full of flavour. Plus our server Luca was very friendly and attentive.
C. P.
Food was nice, vegan options could have been a bit more interesting. Restaurant has a nice design inside but it’s very loud and on top of that you may be sat close to other customers at a communal table. Also some waiting staff were clearing plates from our group as people were still eating, felt like they wanted us to leave even though it wasn’t late!!
A. L. I.
The idea is nice but I think it is not worth the money, starters were tasty and well presented, pasta was not well made or too little for the money. Service wonderful, thats why I ve given 4 stars.
F. A.
Pretty average pasta considering they supposedly make it fresh on site. We had the one with mushroom which was plain and while the spaghetti with spicy sauce and shrimp was a lot better flavour wise the pasta was over cooked.
Go to Lina stores or Padella - the wait is just as long but the food is way better and offer much better value.
T. L.
Amazing food, drinks and service 💖
M. P.
I’ve been there with some friends and we had a few drinks and a few dishes that we shared. The food and the drinks were amazing. Our experience was fantastic especially because the staff was super friendly and lovely. We will be back for sure. Thank you so much
N. J.
Great food although small portions. Really nice staff, attentive and helpful.
The dining area is communal style, you'll sit on one large table with other parties. Not ideal but I get they're making the most of the small space they have.
D. L.
Food was good, although portions were pretty small. Automatic service charge of 12.5%. No indication beforehand that this applies and it is independent of how good or bad the service is. The service was fine but it was quiet. Some bread, pasta and small glass of wine - £20
R. L.
Would not recommend this place, as we had tea and scones, the cream, was whipped cream, which was yuk and my granddaughter wanted ice cream, which came in the smallest glass bowl, so small I couldn't believe it, and everything was overpriced for what you ordered
N. S.
I came here on a weeknight with three friends and the place was packed. Always a good sign. We ordered the sage ricotta ravioli as well as the mushroom pappardelle. The ravioli were absolutely delicious, the dough still al dente. A perfectly satisfying rich meal. It’s a good standard go to italian place at a good rate in london.
A. H.
Lovely pasta. Fresh flavours. Starters should be larger. Three thin slices of tomato has never constituted a starter in any restaurant I have ever been to. The service was tremendous. We will come again. Thank you to all.
S. R.
Bitterly disappointing. So much promise, with such a good idea and word of mouth.
However, l got the ravioli and the pasta was hard and very undercooked around the edges, which make up like 60% of the surface area - the bit in the middle with the filling was alright. Not just aldente - how l like my pasta - bitty and chewy.
The sauce was just some bland butter and cheese sauce that added nothing other than grease.
The tiramisu was also disappointing as it had been dusted with so much cocoa that it got stuck in my throat - we're talking a layer of 1-2mm of powder, not a dusting. Apart from that there wasn't a very strong coffee flavour and was pretty bland.
Service was attentive and friendly, but the restaurant was empty, so not much of a compliment. Overall, it's a fantastic idea, but not very well executed and slightly over priced considering it's quality.
M. M.
Overpriced. Taste was average at best. Service was great. Small space inside definitely not a romantic spot
B.
I mean, if you want the best carbonara you’ll ever have in your mouth, come here.
Food - 10/10 BANGING!
Atmosphere- 9/10 quite packed when busy and really close to other people due to sharing tables, but that just means you can eye up other people’s food and get jealous or win (if you’ve chosen the better dish).
Staff- 10/10 everyone is so friendly and they speak like you’re best mates. They make you feel special ☺️
A. K.
Gets quite busy, but if you don't mind sharing a bench is good food. Our pasta dish was quite big, but the ravioli was a bit on the small side. The tiramisu is definitely worth staying for too
H. W.
Really good food at a really reasonable price!! Portions are very generous and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The wine was also fantastic! I will definitely be back and will bring more people with me!!
L. T.
Lovely little place in convenient location. Went on Friday night when it was bustling with locals and tourists alike. Amazing home made pasta (have gluten free option), lovely clementine sorbet and gluten free choc cake! Really friendly, reasonably fast service and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
M. G.
Excellent food at a convenient price. Lovely staff, recommendable.
B. K.
I came here as the place is tastefully decorated, and in a great location with some outdoor seating. The promise of good pasta was also a draw.
However, the pasta is only just OK - and for the prices, it is not excusable, especially as its so competitive in London in the pasta space. I would recommend Obica, which is nearby, for better pasta (and value).
A. E.
Lovely and amazing pasta. Very tasty! BUT the portions are way to tinny, making this place way to over priced. I had to order two portions making my pasta £24!!
L. B.
Delicious, freshly prepared pasta. The ravioli special was to die for, the mushroom tagliatelle merely good. Sadly they don't take reservations, but if you're not in a big group they can normally fit you in
K. T.
Lovely little pasta place. Decor is nice with artwork by super mundane. Prosecco slushies are a treat! My pasta dish was enjoyable, small portion though. The atmosphere is lively and casual. If you’re in a group you will not be seated until everyone arrives, which is fair enough as it’s obviously a popular place and there will be other people waiting if your group isn’t ready. All in all a decent place to eat.
A. P.
Great Italian but the portions are far two small. I ordered the prawn spaghetti. It came with two small prawns. My friend and I were still hungry. Not worth the price. You can have the same pasta at Vapianos and bigger portions.
C. W.
Good quality pasta and great starters. Meat sauces (sausage and beef ragus )were TOO SALTY YO. This isn’t salt bae time
M. D.
This is a really great and often packed restaurant on carnaby street. The food is delicious with fresh pasta and authentic sauces. The menu is not extensive and I think this is what keeps the authentic flavours up. The desserts are also really tasty, especially the tiramisu. The service is prompt and food is served hot. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the food quality. The only down side is that the portions are actually quite small so we ordered 3 main dishes between 2 people which does look a little odd so it would be good if they could increase their portion size.
S. D.
£7 spritzes, tasty pasta for about a tenner, desserts for a fiver. All around standout eatery, good for a casual meal and a catch up. They won't take reservations, and finding a spare seat is a bit of a gamble but very much worth the wait.
A. A.
Really nice Italian restaurant at Carnaby. Opted for the spinach spaghetti and carbonara. Also had a mango sorbet for dessert. Really nice food but could do with more choice for cocktails as only seemed to have 4. Would probably end up here for food again at some point though.
S. S.
An amazing experience! The service was impeccable and incredibly hospitable. The pasta we ordered was delicious and one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend ordering the Cacio E Peppe and the Chocolate Sorbet! Definitely coming back again.
I. A. Y.
Lovely fresh pasta in an informal long-table setting. The ingredients were fresh with lots of authentic Italian ingredients and unfamiliar herbs eg agretti! Pasta is al dente automatically so make sure you say if you prefer well-done. service was friendly & quick. These are not big portions, bit more gourmet style eg ravioli main was 4/5 medium sized pieces.
The spinach spaghetti was very delicately flavoured with herbs and chilli but even adding bottarga (£3) didn’t quite pack a punch flavour-wise. We were all done eating and they cleared pretty quick so it wasn’t ideal for the big catch-up we’d planned.
S. S.
Great experience ☺️I made a wrong food choice, pasta wasn’t good
M. P.
Service was great and accomodating (especially if you book in advance). Food was also delicious, though slighly on the salty side.
Great manu range, want to visit again.
r. r.
Very average tasting pasta because we were told that they make fresh homemade pasta.
I wasn’t impressed a bit .. but it is at a good spot .. My friend said that the sea food platter she ordered was delicious..
But I wouldn’t want to go go back there..
H. L.
Lovely fresh pasta though the portions are quite small. Would recommend getting starters
M. M.
Nice fresh pasta with good but not amazjng sauces.
Small portions and definitely way too expensive for what it is. In Italy this would.be average. Freshly made and courteous service.
I. S.
Dreadful place
If you like the kind of place where you sit at a bench and shout across the table and struggle to hear your dining partner. If you want to crack a tooth on a plate of spaghetti vongole, laced with bits of broken clam shell, then this is the place for you.
Despite a LOT of broken shell on my plate, food was nice, reasonably priced, we were sat quickly and all staff were charming.
G. M.
Fantastic pasta and cocktails at exceptional value in central London. The weekly special gnocchi was a highlight, as was the watermelon and feta salad. Highly recommended - will be back!
T. W. B. S.
Excellent restaurant.
Communal tables, but cozy at the same time.
The food is delicious. Well seasoned and enough for one person. The desert is amazing.
If you're with a group, make sure everyone is there on time.
C. S.
Loved the fresh pasta here. The portions of pasta are quite small so it might be a good idea to order a starter or dessert, or maybe share an extra pasta main (or maybe I'm just a big eater haha). Will be going here again. Also relaxed and friendly young staff. The prosecco ice blends are very strong though!
A. J.
Absolutely love Pastaio. Somehow it's gotten even better after lockdown. Friendly customer service, fantastic food and definitely don't miss out on the tiramisu.
G. K.
Good location, amazing service considering that was only one person ( a lady with red dress ) looking after all table and running like the hell is coming :) the food was good (English breakfast with burger) the burger noting the extraordinary good place for a lunch break.
H.
Bustling, friendly, canteen style pasta served with a smile in a flash. Place to go with mates, or dates you know well (i went with my sproglet who proceeded to drown her food in Parmesan). Food is what i would call top scoff. What gets slightly lost in quality more than made up for in atmosphere. And coinage returned from two Twenties - what's not to love. Highly recommended.
D. M. K.
Beautiful place with some amazing Italian food. Loved the way flavours were infused in each dish. Economically priced and plentiful in amount.
H. W.
The food was delicious and of high quality. The service was adequate. The interior is lovely, and the exterior is as well.
G. W.
Small portions, great food. Pasta was lovely and fresh, the flavours were great. I would say it is OK for lunch but portions are too small for dinner and maybe a bit too small even for lunch. What a shame! I would have liked to return.
E. M.
So average. Bad service. We watched our neighbours have cheese offered their pasta, we weren’t offer and in fact our order was wrong. We had to beg for our dessert order to be taken. Pasta quality was nice but overwhelmingly average.
M. C.
Delicious handmade pasta in the middle of London. Nicely portioned, not too big but not too small, leaving you very satisfied! The prosecco slushie is a must have. A buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff.
M. S.
Nice atmosphere and staff, unfortunately food was just average, under seasoned and lacked flavor. Ordered 6 pastas and enjoyed one, order the prawn spaghetti if you go, it was delicious.
j. h.
Was expecting a lot from this place, probably due to their very good social media campaings. The pasta are good and menu very simple, however I was not blown away. I thought the portion were a bit small for the price, and music a bit loud in the restaurant as well.
V. Q.
Had high hopes, but Pastaio was disappointing.
Wild mushroom tagliatelle was overcooked (pasta was stuck together) and some of the mushrooms left a bitter aftertaste, couldn’t taste the garlic.
Sausage pasta (malloredus) was great, in contrast to the overcooked tagliatelle it was very al dente which we didn’t mind. Good sauce and the crispy breadcrumbs added texture.
The olives were delicious.
The pasta dishes on the menu are quite basic compared to padella (I.e tomato and pecorino, tomato and Majoram).
Disappointed by the quality of pasta, menu wasn’t interesting. Wouldn’t recommend, I’d rather queue to put my name down for a table at padella!
H. K.
So.. the problem I have with this place is that it’s marketed as a “fresh pasta restaurant”.... And the minute it does that - my expectations are raised. And the minute that happens - I’m going to compare it to Lina Stores Restaurant - which in my opinion is a great “fresh pasta restaurant”... Unfortunately for Pastaio they just don’t meet the grade. Whilst their dishes are tasty, their pasta definitely isn’t hand made and the quality of the produce doesn’t lay a glove on Lina. It’s really hard for me to recommend this place when there is such a great competitor out there in the market...
L. G.
Pastaio do great gluten free pasta and their prosecco slushies are delicious! I've been with a few friends who have said that their normal pasta is amazing too. The wait system is good, you just put your name down, go for drinks or a wander nearby and they text you when your table is ready. So much better than waiting in a
queue!
S. B.
Very nice pasta. Loved the prosecco slushi.
M.
casual place for pasta :) good food and service
J. C.
Came for the soft launch of this pasta place. Starters were decent, quite simple but nothing to complain about. For the pasta two of the dishes were sold out (after only 2 hours, which to me is bad planning for an opening) and unfortunately these were the two I wanted. Service was friendly but pretty slow, it was obvious this was the first day they were open as it seemed quite all over the place. Once we got our pasta some of it was luke warm. Could see it sitting on the pass for a while - unfortunately when you leave pasta out for more than a few mins it quickly gets cold. It tasted pretty decent - but to be honest if you want great pasta you are better off going to padella off borough market.
A. B.
Few days in London from Birmingham, have always liked Stevie Parle (spice trip and telegraph column) so this was one of the restaurants we wanted to try (Honey and Co was the other) Not let down in the slightest, pasta was sublime and the flavours were fabulous plus a really good price for the West End. Really enjoyed eating here, loved it!
F. B.
Lovely atmosphere, tasty Italian food, and quick and polite service.
N. A.
Delicious pasta, small portions.
S. B.
It was easy and quick to get a table for two. The menu is small but amazing. The food came quickly and was priced reasonably. Despite sitting next to others there was a calm atmosphere.
P. K.
Good pasta, nice variety. Great ambience. Staff friendly too. The portion sizes are a bit off though. Not large enough for one to suffice. Two per person seem a bit much.
T. C.
Decent pasta and great service.
I ordered the pesto pasta which was fairly decent and it wasn't too pricey for standard London prices.
The service was very good. The waitress that I had was super attentive.
Overall it was a good experience
S. G.
Had a lovely meal there last night. I had a mushroom pasta that was great nf was a good portion size. I then had the cannoli for desert which I loved. Playlist was great and the girl serving me was very quick and attentive then when I ordered another glass of wine she left me in peace to chill which was perfect. I would definitely go back
K. C.
Great pasta; nice selections of food. Spacious and friendly service with a game to play at the end! Students get discount too (July 2020)
N. G.
Its a great little spot and lovely pasta and wine selection. Lost a star because they gave us olives when we didnt order them (and ignored my "we didn't order these") and of course, they appeared on the bill, and when savouring my last mouthfull of mushrooms I got a huge chunk of dirt.
E. R.
Lovely although be good to see any vegan options and the specials sell out too fast to order. Delicious pasta done well. No bookings so be prepared to wait.
P.
Good food and service in a restaurant setting that is quite sparcly decorated. Pasta dominates the menu but there are some other options also. Nice place with high chairs but if you want candle light dinner and romance it might not be the right place.
A. R.
Menu changes regularly, pricing is very fair and service relatively quick. The pasta dishes are a nice size with a focus on quality rather than quantity.
P. P.
Nice relaxing atmosphere. Drinks a bit on top end but they have a happy hour that brings the cost to normal level.

Location is great and atmosphere is nice but very loud in the restaurant. The pasta was OK but pretty bland, required a lot of additional seasoning to pep it up.
A. C.
Great place to go for fresh pasta. Food is of good quality. Bottles of wine are a bit pricy knowing that you do not get to see the bottle you order. Wine is poured
in a jar.

Great new restaurant in Soho with a nice mix of traditional pasta with more modern interpretations - the grouse and hare pasta was unbelievable but the potato ravioli with egg yoke and gravy was pretty special too. It's worth a visit just for the prosecco slushies, and good value all round!

Meh. Generally alright however I had totally overlooked bucatini in my carbonara (inexcusable) and the service was spotty. Prices are too high for what you get too I would say. Interior nice and vibrant. But compared to Padella in Borough? Not even close.
A. S.
Polite, friendly staff, no one rushed us out after the meal, not a massive menu choice but the food was excellent.
T.
Nice atmosphere and delicious vegan menu
M. B.
Really good food. Plates were well proportioned. The cacio e pepe was good and the wine is great as well. I was unsure about the lemon tart but it was delightful. Definitely recommend!
C. H.
Will definitely be coming back! They have a way of making all of the ingredients shine. If you want a delicious plate of pasta this is the place to go!
C. G.
Very informal, lively and noisy place (in a good way). Food was delicious and attention was really nice. I missed panna cota on the desserts menu, but the main courses were spot on. We will be back
K. T.
Beautifully presented food with exceptional service. We can't wait to come back!
D. C.
3 star for the food - it was edible enough, but 1 star for the £4 portion I paid £10 for. I doubt I'll be going back - it is an expensive lunch that doesn't quite hit the sides!
S. B.
Small menu. Great tasting fresh pasta, fried mozzarella excellent. No mineral water. Lively setting sat outside will def be back!
B. C.
Nowhere near as good as Padella. A bit stuffy and the pasta isn't as good. I tried the Cacio de pepe - normally a fail safe and I didn't enjoy it was over-tangy and I couldn't taste the pepper. They did however make a vegan option for my friend - so if you are Vegan you can still go.

Very nice and vibrant atmosphere with nice pizza selections. Outdoor seating available.
L. P.
One of my favourite restaurants in London, always 10/10 👌
R. C.
very good service, nice food!
Y. S.
Casual place with fresh, al dente pasta and one amazing tiramisu - all for reasonable prices. Make sure to check their specials - they had a squash gnocchi which was special indeed.
J. S.
Lovely food though staff (manager) and waiting staff sat at end of our table on laptop and ate their own dinner / break time food which seemed strange and unprofessional. Food really simple and really tasty had a gorgeous meal with friends good music and atmosphere!!
U. L.
Enjoyed a nice few pastas - tasty flavours, well organised menu and okay service. Worth a try but nothing to write home about and certainly overshadowed by it's many Carnaby/Kingly Ct neighbours.
J. P.
Great addition to the area with a dedicated pasta place. Fresh pasta homemade with diverse choices for most taste buds...simple, original and tasty from starter to desert. All managed by a friendly team.
E. N.
Decent priced fresh pastas, generous servings, but not too much taste in the sauces. Good if you want a cheap-ish and filling meal.
R. M.
Very busy but they sat us down without fuss. Kids loved it so another mark in its favour! There are better pasta places in London imo though
S. P.
Nice place for pasta. Great location! Service is friendly but could be a bit faster.
A. G.
The tastiest pasta I have ever eaten in UK.
V. C.
Nice pasta place with fresh food which also tastes as though it's fresh. Portions are a little smaller than the average pasta place so order accordingly. Buzzing atmosphere as well.
W. A.
Wonderful atmosphere, food fabulous..staff were great.
Would definitely return
J. L.
Tasty, well prepared and presented pasta; incredible value for this part of London. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Great background music. What's not to like?!
C. W.
Incredible pasta, staff were friendly, drinks were reasonably priced!
S. M.
Pasta restaurant in busy Carnaby Street area so prices a bit inflated but food was passable but for me a touch too al dente on the pasta. At busy times there may be a need to share the longer room wide tables.
v.
The food, service and place are really good.
The portion tho, feels like I was ordering from a kids menu, for kids that don’t eat eat much, but if you go for a kebab before or after you’ll be fine.
C. H.
Starters were nothing special, the pasta dishes were really tasty and perfectly cooked. But what's up with the tiny portions?? We both left feeling hungry.
M. M.
A must for all pasta lovers! Great atmosphere in a great location. Will be going back soon to indulge in the grouse, rabbit & pork agnoli....as well as another prosecco slushy!
A. K.
amiable and accessible, good stalwart pasta recipes and accessories. brilliant prosecco slushie. accomplished tiramisu. could handle relentless customer traffic well.
T. K.
Awesome place for pasta in soho
Greeter was tall and friendly
Even took our orders as waitress seems overwhelmed
J. W.
Cute place, great vibe, staff were so kind, clams spaghetti was yummy (portions not massive)
S. S.
Pasta slightly over al dente but an interesting menu. Nice location as well
J. S.
I ordered the vegan spinach spaghetti dish and it was delicious, a little bit spicy though.
J. S.
Tasty and simple fresh pasta dishes. Be sure to get there before peak dining times if you want to avoid a wait though as it fills up quickly
J. C.
the food here is very reasonably priced for the quailty you'll be getting - plus it's got a tinge of authenticity. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting London, especially for those who want amazing pasta for cheap 👍
W. M.
Went here on weekend, great lunch spot with nice pasta. Wasn't expensive and they play decent music too. Will try again
R. G.
Honest, well cooked pasta with a nice variety of sauces, happily we return regularly to maintained standards and quality. Cool communal dining in soho.
w.
Friendly staff but the serving is small considering the price! They bring you the menu when you finish the main dishes in a way of saying either you order sth else or you leave!
D. L.
Great service and delicious meal - what a great experience and thoroughly deserving of a 5 star review
M. C.
Delicious super-fresh pasta and funky vibe. Portions are smallish (except puddings) but that just means you get to try more stuff.
S. M.
Super yum! Not the biggest menu, but so delicious. Also not huge portions, but that leaves room for dessert which can only be a good thing!
G. G.
Quick and friendly service. Nice interiors. Good drinks. Ok pasta. Lina Stores round the corner is miles better.
R. N.
Decent pasta, but feel the menu could be a little more varied. Hare to find a dish with meat if you don't eat pork.
C. S.
Fabulous food, great service as always
A. C.
Great casual place with a range of pasta dishes that changes seasonally. Pasta could be more al dente but always a solid dinner to be had here!
P. F.
Atmosphere and the staff are great. The place has a nice design, only reason I'm giving 4 stars cause the food wasn't that great and a bit cold.
J. L.
One of the best affordable pasta places in London.
Great customer service, I ordered the wrong thing, they allowed me to re-order without fuss.
S. S.
Excellent pasta Alle vongole . Unfortunately a bit overcooked.
H. M.
Really tasty pasta, great wine list, nice ambiance, good service and great value for money. We'll be coming back here!
S. A.
Great food and lovely staff
H. W. T.
Nice foods good services.
M. M.
If you REALLY like your pasta maybe give it a miss. Padella style but not Padella quality, nothing was outstanding but generally good.
R. F.
Very very small portions. Pasta is okay nothing you haven’t tried before. The staff is lovely.
C. C.
Not the best pasta I’ve had in London, nor the worst. Appetisers fared better. Asked to leave after and hour and 15 minutes.
k. o.
Only complaint is for a bigger portion.. 😁
N. D.
Came there yesterday with friends, we didn’t enjoy our food but serving was really nice, manager was very nice talk to and even tho we didn’t like food we left with nice mood.
F. W.
Food was delicious. Service was great 👍👌
L. L.
Nice place, very nice people serving and tasty dishes. Would be great a little bit bigger portions 😉
H. P.
Delicious, but a little bit pricy pasta. Friendly and welcoming staff.
J. D. L. R.

A. C. P.
Very friendly staff, good food and nice experience
M. D.
Incredible new Italian. Excellent value and service - was worth the short wait. Prosecco slushy is brilliant.
F. G. G.
I’ve tried 5 different dishes and none of them was special. Staff is quite poor. Location is cool.
f.
Some dishes are great, but some are just okay, and its a bit overpriced! Also lacks atmosphere. Service is good however.
R. S.
Lovely Italian food in a very casual setting. We really enjoyed it and certainly recommend it
N. K.
very nice food and desserts however small portions
P. P.
YES PASTA
P. S.
Nice pasta, serving sizes could do with being a little more generous, but overall a nice experience.
P. V.
Service ok, long waiting lists. Nothing amazing. I find the pasta a little overcooked. It's ok but not amazing. Could be improved.
N.
Amazing place with fairly priced food and nice old school music. Do not take reservations but have a virtual queue in operation.
M. S.
This place is perfect. Excellent food, service is friendly and fun, I've been back here multiple times already because I enjoy it so much
S.
Meh. Alright, but not overly satisfied by the food or service. Used to be better.
J. A.
Very good fresh pasta but the portions are tiny and the prices quite high.
H. G.
Amazing food and atmosphere.
J. B.
Lovely food but small portion size
R. A. D.
This was the first time I've eaten freshly made pasta and the Carbonara was the best pasta dish I've ever eaten!
L. M.
Had my eye on this for a while and was delighted it didn't disappoint. Thought the prosecco slushies were great but was really, really impressed with the food
T. H.
Very tasty but small portions.
U. B.
Carbonara was savoury al dente perfection. V good tiramisu. Great value too.
D. C.
Great pasta, portions are a little small but decent for the price.
M. K.
Italian food for non Italians. It works in London .tasty but dissapointing too much of showing off not much food. Fancy a bit and not cheap .
O. M.
Delicious pasta, super fresh
I. H.
Good Food ,great staff not forgetting cocktails x
M. F.
Really amazing food with good service. Only complaint is that the room was a but noisy, but other than that it was delightful.
p. p.
Awsome pasta and this from a person not a fan. Had the mushroom pasta. Really tasty and good sangiovese on tap
B. G.
Pricey for just pasta but it was fresh and very good quality. Fast service!
C. L.
Very pleased to see this new opening in the heart of soho.
Banging pasta, delightful tiramisu, killing playlist & affordable prices 🙌
Can't wait to come back! 🍝
M. S. Z.
Wonderful carbonara: they serve the real traditional one. Good value for money as well
R. K.
Wonderful food and service all served with a good smile and great atmosphere and a great price.superb italian
T.
Carbonara was a bit salty for me. Otherwise, really nice place to have pasta.
L.
Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service . What more could you ask for. One of my favourite places in Soho.
M. O.
Super nice staff, the pasta with bolognese ragut was to die for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! could have been more of it though.. good wine as well!
K. K.
Friendly service, Aperol spritz that lived up to Italian standards and delicious cacio pepe pasta. I recommend it!
