Reviews of Pizza East Shoreditch
E. S.
This was my third visit to Pizza East Shoreditch. They made space for us at the pizza counter as all the tables were booked, but we actually really enjoyed it at the pizza counter. It's nice watching the chef's work and they seem to be enjoying it as well.
The waitress was really friendly and everyone that attended to us was.
My wife ordered a truffle pizza and I had the Pork belly. We shared a lamb meatball starter. Being a Pizza restaurant there weren't many gluten free options but the waiter was very knowledgeable on what I could have off the menu and that was appreciated.
The pizza was great, as always. Perfect crust and fresh ingredients. The pork belly was good too, however they serve it with only a few salad leaves. It's a fairly large chunk of meat that needs something else with it to help balance the plate especially at the selling price of 20 pounds.
All in it was a good evening with good food and excellent service. Some work needs to be done on balancing the pork belly dish when it is had as a main for one person.

They have their own style and take on pizza. I personally liked it. But some people might want more variety etc. Also would be nice to have a bit more different starters. Overall great for a weekend lunch or a group dinner. Have been several times and always end up eating too much 😉
K. M.
Soho House establishment! The place is huge and well designed. Good for big groups as well.
Amazing pizzas that you must taste. The lasagna is tasty too BUT the pizza is the thing over there.
T. A.
Pizzas here were great. Though, I personally didn’t exactly enjoy my Salami pizza, my colleagues loved theirs.
P. C.
Food is excellent, from the starters (zucchini or mozzarella sticks) to main course (pizza of course) all the way to deserts (lemon pie). Make sure you sit on a proper chair, they have a sort of a pretty uncomfortable rotating bench on a long table, next day your back is a mess.
R. M.
What you're seeing infront of you is the Veal Meatball pizza. This joint was amazing! The pizza tasted so fresh it was unbelievable.
My first visit to Pizza East was defo one to remember. The staff were friendly and helpful, and always attended the table to make sure we was good for drinks or needed any help.
The cocktails here are also quite good. Great restaurant all round.
V. R.
Tasty pizza, quiet and cozy place. Lots of space as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my visit there :)

Great service! Lovely wait staff, too! We shared a pizza, salad and some apps. Food was great- recommend the truffle pizza - it has generous amounts of truffle also recommend the butter lettuce salad- it’s a sharp vinaigrette & perfect with a cheese overload!! Also good wine selection - kept both the red and white wine drinkers happy!
L. S.
Good high-end pizza. Nice venue. Friendly service. Worth a visit.
R. P.
Nice chilled atmosphere. Was served quickly and the staff were nice.
Food was delicious, had the best mozzarella sticks and mac & cheese I've ordered in ages. If you love thin base pizzas, Pizza East is the spot!
R. P.
So so good, I'm still thinking about it days later. The base was soft in the middle but deliciously crunchy on the outside, they made it very clear it was 'card only' on arrival, it was lovely to see it busy with atmosphere, our server was great, he answered all my questions, I wish I'd got his name; he thought our pizza's had taken too long to arrive (we were busy chatting so hadn't noticed!) so we got a free garlic bread and it was so reasonably priced I thought. Can't wait to return!

Really nice location, the interior is a large open plan ex factory type building with a modern industrial feel, large windows with loads of light and a lovey feel when it gets dark with low relaxed lighting.
The food is mainly pizza but there are other options for those who don’t fancy a pizza that time around.
A good selection of drinks.
Everything is clean and staff are friendly, everything seems to be well set up for social distancing. Still with table service.
Price isn’t that bad.
But now with loads of pizza places in the area you can pick what you want easy enough, but this is the most dining experience type of pizza place.
A.
I did not have the pizza, but the antipasto and main food was really good.Loved the meatball with tomatoe sauce, probably best meatball I ever ate.
I. J.
After speaking with management we understand that our experience was a once off. We were offered compensation. I fully appreciate Pizza East's honesty and highly recommend the food here as it was really good. Although we initially had a negative experience, after Gus reached out to us regarding my initial review (below), we are satisfied that our experience was isolated. An honest discussion and understanding from both parties turned out to be positive and they do deserve 5 stars . We will definitely return to Pizza East in the future.
I am very disappointed with the set menu. We paid £30 each excluding the service charge and the food wasn't enough. We left the restaurant still hungry. The food is really good but avoid the set menu.We received 3 small pizzas between 8 people, one small apple crumble divided by 8 which left us each with a spoon.
l. b.
Such a great place, been here many times. Relaxed, fun, great atmosphere, nice staff, super quick and good food. This time the lamb meatballs with ricotta was the highlight of the night! Fish ceviche starter not the best. Would recommend! Truffle pizza was also incredible! Spicy sausage pizza certainly has a kick and the Mac and cheese is lush! Everything comes out incredible quick which is lovely! Great as a casual date place and for a group of friends.
S. R.
Great place to visit with friends! Friendly staff will always give you a warm welcome. Good selection of wine and very tasty food. Visited few times already and definately will be back soon :)
All pizza menu is delicious, but please try as well starters, I recommend to share at least few cause they are all very good ❤️
Venue is big so it’s a good spot for celebrations and friends gatherings. You can choose comfortable booth, bar counter or big sharing tables! All for you 😊
Thanks to all team! See you very soon 🥳
J.
Good food but service left a bit to be desired, felt that they were trying to get us out of the door as soon as possible, stating that there is another table waiting when there didn't seem to be. 12.5% service charge is a bit excessive for not much service, especially in the UK where tipping is not culturally the norm.
B.
Delicious pizzas!
And the mac'n cheese looked delicious as well.
This place is a very big with lots of seating, it really looks like a canteen. So it looks good but can be very noisy, so I'd only recommend to go there as a couple or a group of 4, as it would be difficult to communicate if you were more.
The staff is nice and efficient.
The pizzas are really excellent. We were seating by the counter so we could see how they were making them and when they added cheese, I could see that it was real, nice chunks of tasty cheese and you feel it when you eat it. Very very nice.
Definetly one of the best pizza place in London. About £15pp. Highly recommend it.
R. B.
It was OK, and it was only ok because by the time we got there, we were so hungry we would have eaten anything.
It's a nice layed out restaurant with loads of room to cater for big parties. The starters were nice. I found my pizza topping over cooked and not attached to the pizza base. I had the salami which was quite spicy which I never expected.
Beers were nice.
And service was excellent.
Z. B.
Really cool interior to this restaurant just off of the high street that is overshadowed by Box Park across the road. When you’re sitting at your table, you almost feel like you’re eating in a subway station, but you’re not!
Tables are spaced out very well and we felt we had excellent service. Our pizzas took a bit longer than expected, however the staff were kind enough to compensate our wait with olives and bread.
There are limited options for those who are looking to add meat that is not pork to their pizza. We were hoping they could add beef or chicken to substitute the Prosciutto, but the restaurant unfortunately only offered pork.
The Buffalo mozzarella is NOT Buffalo flavored for those if you who are looking for the spicy flavor- it is simply a margarita pizza.
L. M.
The place was bustling with the number of people and loud music. We were offered a seat at the bar even when their were other seats available, my suggestion ask for a table if u see it unreserved. The rustic atmosphere is very appealing. But the seating for two people is a bit like sardines. It does take a good 40+ mins for your food to arrive. But yes the pizza's are good. I feel if the service was a bit more on point it would have been a bit more in line with food quality.
J. S.
Very enjoyable meal prepared freshly. Unique pizza menu with excellent quality meats. Friendly and efficient staff. Great lasagne.
D. J.
Really good atmosphere and friendly staff. The place has an industrial vibe which is pretty cool and lots of big tables for larger groups. Food was good and I thought decent value for this part of town.
B. K.
Decent, Ambience is cool, 4 cheese truffle pizza definitely gave off a wonderful aroma - I didn't try it though, stuck with the safe mac n cheese, which was decent but nothing special. Go to this place for the pizzas only.
T. W.
Pizza was good …shame they don’t serve any side salad and the cheapest one was £12 ! Staff rushing you by hovering and seemed in a rush to take your plate to get you out so not relaxing and asked 4 different times if we wanted tea and coffee whilst still drinking a cider and aperol spritz - bill was incorrect over 2 times as much as it should have been - not impressed will not go back or recommend.
C. M.
This restaurant was open on New Year's Day, that was amazing! The waitress was so kind, attentive, polite, could not have asked for more. The food was good quality and tasted lovely and healthy. I feel thankful for the owner and their team giving us such a lovely start to the new year. Yes the seating is ripped and needs replacing. Something that isn't porous or semi porous. It should be very easy to clean.
J.
The wife and I found the spicy sausage pizza spicier than expected but very tasty nonetheless. The starter was absolutely delicious, the texture of the croquettes was just right and the aioli complemented it perfectly. The brownie, which went well with the raspberry, was sweet, moreish, rich and soft, just the way I like it. The service was prompt, friendly and attentive.
D. S.
Fabulous place to eat with friends in a perfect location, trendy decor, open and airy. The staff were friendly from when we walked in to when we ordered our food and then paid our bill. The prices are reasonable though we had 50% the food as my friend had a discount keyring thing which was a bonus. The menu is great, a good choice of veggie options and some nice interesting choices.
The food was really yummy and served pretty quickly. We loved the mussels and the croquettes and the four cheese pizza was delicious too. Sample the homemade ginger beer if you get a chance as that was super refreshing.
We had a great time! No doubt we will be back soon. Thank you!
C. H.
I usually go straight for the pizza but last time I dined in I ordered the roast chicken with crispy potatoes and was blown away. Flavour and texture were all perfect. Still dreaming of this dish now and can't wait for lockdown to be over!
G. G.
Pizza and service are really good. I had buffalo pizza and burrata. Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I bit pricey but the experience are really good
J. D.
The food was so delicious and the restaurant looks very nice. Absolute recommended. The prices are completely ok for the quantity and quality of the food.
I.
I accidentally found this place when I was waiting for the soft serve shop to open near Pizza East. I'm surprised this place is great! I love the pizza dough's crunch and softness. Flavour of guanciale is really good.
The place itself you will know that bringing your group of friends will fit in this big place. The wood based interior with bricks are really lovely.
Service in this place is also remarkable. Very friendly and accomodating.
T. P.
Very nice and spacious place. Pizza is just amazing. Loved it! The service is good too. We went for some lunch on a Sunday and had a great time. Everything is gelicious, excwpt for the citrus juice that was not my cup of tea as it was spicy(includes cayanne peper so it was obvious, but too much for me lol).
R. S.
As always, Pizza East Shoreditch did not disappoint. This time, however, we had pleasure to be served by Csaba. He really made our evening enjoyable! It has been a long time since the service has been taken to the next level! Must visit. Delicious food, tasty drinks and an exceptional service.
P. G.
Good food and okay service. Came for my mum's 60th birthday dinner and we all enjoyed it. It was really busy resturant however felt like they were understaffed as we was waiting for ordering our food plus when asking for sauces they brought this once our food was finished. Plus it costs an extra £2 for a small pot of garlic mayo. Would recommend for nice pizza.
A. E.
Amazing food and decor! I had the 4 cheese truffle pizza it was amazing I would definitely love to go back again, be sure to book a table as this restaurant does get busy.
M. W.
Staff are very friendly, however not extremely attentive. Lovely interiors and restaurant was clean. Food arrived a little, but slow considering the restaurant was not very busy. We waited a little bit longer than we should for pizzas. Price was more than it should be for average tasting pizza.
A. N.
Great Food . Great service. Excellent waitress - Laura ! Cannot fault this establishment. Drinks being served so professionaly done . You have great staff and most probably a very well training program! Being in the hospitality industry for years it’s hard to find a restaurant with all five stars ticked ! Well done and keep up this well maintained establishment and business!
e. t.
Beautiful designed spacious first floor restaurant located at the old tea factory. The interior feels cozy and there are plenty of sittings in various areas, near the windows or at the centre. I had lunch with my work colleagues during a weekday, and although fairly busy we enjoyed a peaceful and quiet time; accoustics are great and tables were placed with a bit of distance in between them which gives you some personal space ( and makes it ideal for meetings). The open space kitchen was only to be seen ( not a hint of a food smell). The interior design is based on the industrial past of the building; at the ceiling the internal piping is exposed and the decayed walls are left untreated. There are some homely bits; the tiles covering the bar look like handrown, south European style, their colour matches the green shade of the factory style lights hanging in between the pipes and the floor is all wooden. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the expectations. My salmon was overcooked; the accompanying fregola and veg were lacking taste. The portions were big. Pizza was nice, I think that is what you'll go there for. The arancini with butternut squash and parma ham rizotto filling felt a bit burnt ( and I did t really taste the ham). Chicken salad was (very) average. In a few words, place looks great but food was chain restaurant quality.
A. M.
Come for dinner. Dinner. We had always come for lunch. But during dinner, this place transforms into a cosy atmosphere with a lovely vibrancy. The wood fired oven is the special attraction at this place. Anything that comes from it is lovely and crispy. Most will recommend the pizzas. But try the Mac and cheese. Lots of matching wines.
R. C.
The restaurant reminds you of the New York Lofty scene, it's airy, it's modern and it's very simple. Nice variety of different sized round tables and bonquette seating as well as a bar where you can drink and dine. The kitchen is open so you can see all that goes on. The food was unfortunately very average - affordable - but average. It also took ages for the food to come out and then they served all the starters and mains together. Not a restaurant I would repeat. The staff on the other hand were fantastic - friendly and attentive. From seating to serving.
D.
Excellent dinner with friends. Never disappoints Pizza East. The one thing you MUST remember is to check whether the pizza you’re ordering has tomato on it. Turns out some trendy pizzas don’t and it’s disappointing when it gets there. Still tasty, but disappointing.
E. G.
Great pizza! Cool place to eat if you go to Brick Lane market. Not expensive good for families and big groups as well
E. F.
Great food and top service. The wild mushroom pizza is amazing! Nice soft dough with a good crispness where needed. Proper limoncello too! Thanks everybody, much appreciated.
A. P.
Not cheap but not even really expensive.
Pizza looks small but it's good portion at the end and very good quality.. just wish there was more choice in the menu. 5 starts anyways, real pizza Italiana 🇮🇹
B. D.
Great ambience and fast service. We we seated quite quickly at a communal table when our whole group arrived. While we were waited we were served quite large pourings of wine. The wine selections have been chosen well.
Service was incredibly swift. The entrees were a bit so/so but the mains were super great. The pizzas especially the ones with the tomato based sauces were super tasty. The pizza based were cooked to perfection.
A. y.
Having a nice staycation in East London this weekend? Remember to swing by Pizza East! It's just right opposite boxpark and shoreditch overground Station.
This place has good vibes, absolutely in love with the industrial interior design. Single tables are a little tight for two. I'd suggest you go for the round ones if there's one available.
I wouldn't say this is artisinal pizza or anything fancy like that. It's just different. We had the Veal meatball and shrimp chilly. The veal is a little salty for my liking, but I thoroughly enjoyed having both. I usually don't eat my crust but this was just next level. I hope they consider cheesy crust next time.
We also bone marrow with cipollini and burrata to start. The bone marrow is a must try. It comes in threes with the marrow juice between the bones. Personally I wouldn't share this because it's not a whole lot, also its incredibly addictive. The burrata presentation wasnt half as impressive but I'd say the cheese was equally amazing.
They have really nice cocktails available here. We had Salento (hendricks gin and pineapple) and a Streaga. Not the cheapest cocktails around! £9.75 each. Finally finished off with tiramisu and coffee.
Total bill came up to less than £85 for two. This includes two starters, two cocktails, two pizzas, one dessert and two coffees. A little upscale but definitely worth the bill.
H. S.
Lively pizza joint overrun by 20- and 30-somethings enjoying after work drinks. (Seriously, even my kids commented that I seemed to be the only person in the restaurant over 40.) Pizza is passable if unspectacular, but arrived very quickly. Good place to stop for a quick bite and brew after shopping at Boxpark.
H. A.
Deliciously fresh but they charged quite a bit for an extra piece of toast! I would recommend the Mac and cheese over the poached eggs
B. M.
Perfectly located on the corner of Shoreditch High Street, beautiful decor and friendly staff. Fiori di Zucchini were filled with a weird tasting cheese, so no from me, however the pizza was super delicious.
t.
Had prawns chilli pizza and it tasted so good! I've never had pizza with cream sauce before and surprisingly tasty! Want to try other pizzas too!
S. B.
Love this place. Very sheek and well designed, the pizza is traditional napolitan which is my favorite. One of the coolest spots in London for a pizza.
T.
This is a high 3 star. Reasonably priced, ok wine selection. Service is slow, and pizzas are just pizzas. The salami is like any pizza anywhere else, the ricotta & artichoke again is fine but nothing special. The sausage pizza is the only real "that's really nice!" pizza. Outside of that it's definitely just an average pizza place in London.
Not bad, but not amazing.
A. A.
fast service, friendly, clean. Lacking a diverse choice of vegan and vegetarian pizzas.. not sure why they haven't caught on with the trend.
M. B.
Great place, a bit too loud but I guess it adds to the charm. The food is delicious and the drinks as well. If you're into sweet drinks try their Fig Bellini, it's amazing!
L.
This has to be my favourite pizza restaurant so far! The pizza I chose was amazing and the suggested cocktail by the waiter which had elderflower and prosecco was also really good. The pizza I had was the aubergine, pesto one! I definitely would come back. Scrumptious!
G. E.
Trendy Shoreditch haunt with good pizza and a buzzy atmosphere. Pepperoni pizza was really nice. I might end up waiting a long time for a table though unless you book ahead
A. K.
It was a brunch/early lunch occasion so unfortunately I didn't have an amazing pizza but a...brunch, which was ok but nothing stunning. On another note, the stuff were extremely welcome and nice to us ...so overall 4 stars.
R. M.
If you come here for anything - let it be the salted caramel tart. I mean, the pizza is good too, but the tart is AMAZING. Every time we visit London, we have to visit Pizza East and have a slice of this tart.
J. L.
Very nice pizzas with a good choice and high quality ingredients. Enjoyed thoroughly.
S.
Always great - don't feel you have to have pizza, the fish here is always amazing, as its the antipasti!
K. K.
Tasty pizzas and a lot of great options of starters. Calamari and the burrata was delicious. Service was a bit slow but the place was packed. Book your table in advance. Kind of pricy but worth it. Will go again.
A. S.
Delicious pizza and great service!
P. M.
Even when you're not sure you want pizza just come here. I had the pepperoni and mozzarella with some chilli flakes on it. The base is very short and this is exactly how I like my pizza's. You can see in the pic below that the pizza was just slightly burnt on the edges and this wasn't bitter but all flavour. And what's better you can dip that crust in one of the many dipping sauces. Overall a great pizza experience with good service.
M.
Had a prawn pizza (prawns, chilli, parsley, cream - £13) with a house press cold pressed green smoothie called "Hard Green" (cucumber, broccoli, celery, spinach, lemon, ginger, parsley - £4.50) Both were excellent, the drink was very healthy as it wasn't sweet and was quite strong in the ginger department and the service was excellent. When we went, it wasn't busy so always plays a part in the service being better than when it's busy for some. The price for both was £17.5 excluding service charge. I recommend this place for all occasions.
j. o. l.
Great pizzas and the amount of food was insane, good hospitality in my opinion
c.
Part of our tour so we just had dessert. It was fantastic. Tart was great crust and the chocolate was firm but oozed with flavor. Will try and get back here to try the full menu. The place was slammed at 2:00 on a Friday but service kept up on our table.
E.
Surprised by the quality of the pizza.. somewhere between neapolitan and roman style dough.. good drinks and quite a lively atmosphere! Friendly staff and good music. Great if you want a bit of a crowded place to have a few drinks beforehand.
M. F.
Good ambience in a postindustrial building, quick service and a relaxed atmosphere. Note : pizza served there is not the sourdough Neapolitan pizza ! Still good though, but ironically prefer other dishes served there
D. S.
Great food, great service by Naovah. Would highly recommend!
W. M.
Possibly the best pizza I've had. Chewy, tasty, just the right amount of char. Love the industrial look, and the location. I wish I hadn't waited so long before going!
J. M.
Really loved it. Some great food even with a set menu. Great but limited range of pints.
D. D.
How have I never been here before now? One of the best pizza joints I've been to. Ever.
R. H.
Nice atmosphere! Friendly and efficient staff and great pizza and tiramisu
J. L.
Very very loud place with long lines. Decent pizza but not worth the wait. I couldn't hear a word what other people at the table were saying. The hype is not real - go somewhere else.
L. S.
My favourite pizza in town, they have a good starter option my preference are garlic bread and burrata, the pizza options are good as well but my favourite one is the white truffle, I tried the margarita one before with my husband, it was good as well, I love their pizza dough as it is crunchy and not soggy, the only reason I gave it 4 star is the customer service, even that I go there very regularly but the customer service is the same, they don’t give enough attention.
P. S.
Always great food and service. Love the food here - amazing pizzas and also great wood oven dishes like the lasgna
Y. A.
I've been here for a few times already, usually for a pizza, which is quite good. Went for brunch today and was left quite disappointed with my dish - eggs on mortadella with caponata. The sausage cut was very thick (see for yourself in the pic) and overwhelming, making the dish unbalanced and unpleasantly heavy - 6 hours later I was still not hungry. Didn't help that I had to peel the skin off the sausage... Quite a fail. Didn't help that my order for tea never arrived. It's 3 stars still, as I like their pizza, and it was probably silly of me to expect quality brunch from a pizza restaurant.
M. C.
Fantastic food, the greatest pizzas & great drinks list. Brilliant service. Definitely on our must go there again list!
T. R.
Nice pizzas, beautiful desserts and attentive service all within edgy brutalist concrete and industrial decor.
K. W.
I would say it is the most overpriced place I have been to in London. Pizza was good but mussels in tomato sauce didn’t hit the spot. We paid £35 for dinner for too which is too much for the quality of the food.
R. A.
Really really good pizza, trendy venue, attentive staff.
T. T. P.
Average food. Fantastic interior and decor - great for a company event etc. Pizza was small, dough was okay, nothing spectacular.
Priced at the usual rate in London, but still expensive.
D. D. T.
Pizza is great here. Staff are also friendly and attentive. The prices are a little high, however the food is great quality so it's worth the price. Can get quite busy on weekends!
C. O.
Went here for work Xmas dinner. Sea food starter was good, pizza was okay and main was good. Also had a tumeric chai which was interesting.
F. P. N.
Pizzas were great and mildly seasoned. Pizza east is very spacious and with a cute little deli to one side. Very close by all the Shoreditch markets
E. E.
The food was not bad, not anything special either
I.
Good pizza. Cool location. Can't say 5* perfect, as a bit crowded and loud and I got a seat at the bar , not a table but ... Ok pizza for £15.
A. T.
Really good wood oven pizzas here. Nice brunch options also
A. K.
Incredible pizzas, lovely helpful staff and great vibe.
B. E.
Astounding service, really accommodating of allergies and intolerances and hugely helpful staff. Food was excellent and you could see right into where they were cooking the pizzas! Not overly expensive either.
J. S.
Excellent place for either drinks, antipasto or dinner. Relaxed atmosphere, great service, food and drink selection.
Y. Y.
Huge space!!! Great atmosphere, great tasting pizza and lots of variety. Great veggie options aswell
C. M.
Rather expensive for a pizza but I can't argue with the taste.
Had the veal meatball pizza and it was really good.
C. B.
I liked the atmosphere in this place but £13 for a pizza that does not taste like a proper Italian one was disappointing. They look nice but the taste is underwhelming.
M. “. M.
Always busy, always very loud. Food is really good. What I don't like, they hardly let you finish to bring you the bill.
M. B.
Good pizzas, nice staff, quick service. We had to ask for another bottle of wine four times, that’s why it’s only four stars. Try the finocchiona pizza, it’s amazing!
S. R.
Great place, very lively, friendly staft, and good food. Quite busy so make sure you make a reservation. But you can walk in, we had to wait for 45 but they'll text you so you can have a drink elsewhere while you wait
L. I.
Came last minute and was able to get a booking later than might. Thank you to the woman on the door that made Space for me and my friend :)
C. H.
Fabulous interiors, warehouse industrial meets touches of glam. Great sunlight, service and food.
T. T.
The restaurant is conveniently located opposite the Shoreditch Boxpark. Service was prompt and friendly. Pizza and other food was average. I've had better pizza in London. Maybe check out Homeslice and compare for yourself.
D. H.
Wonderful food and customer service from the team and was great to meet Gus the manager. Thank you for being so thoughtful
N.
Great atmosphere and delicious pizza. Staff are helpful and serve with a smile whilst wearing a mask! Yes you can see their smile through their kind eyes. What a lovely bunch 👏👍
Perhaps the plant based options could be extented to one or two more choices
J. S. B.
I’ve been in Pizza East once and that was my second time. We’ve had a completely different service cause was so much better this last time. Me and my wife have been service by the waitress Lara. She was so lovely and gave us an amazing recommendations about the food. Definitely we’ll come back.
L. T.
Great food in a hip, modern environment. Good service. We really enjoyed our visit.
O. H.
Great pizza, nice atmosphere. Wait was a little long.
J. H.
An excellent place to lunch during the week. Not too busy. Menu was perfectly good. Not too much choice and what you would expect from a pizzeria. The pizzas were excellent and everyone in our lunch party had a good meal. Service was discrete, prompt and polite.
J. H.
Really fabulous food. The pizza stays in your memory and grips like a vice!! The spelt salad ,well, I could wax prolific. Atmosphere, staff, easy going, if they kept Eat Out to help out, we would be there every week.
A. M.
Legit the best pizza around. Trust me. I'm about 300kg and all I do is eat pizza. I know Pizza. It's just terrific. Fantastic. Etc.
G. M.
Lovely food but greedy with money! Charged me £2 for a tapwater and added a 12.5% tip to my bill! Service was ok but not 12.5%! Fortunately it made up for it with the delicious pizzas! 🍕
R. P.
Good food but very quick and unpersonal service. Friendly though.
P. T.
Reliably good pizza but make sure you check out the other items on the menu. The salt baked salmon and the pork belly with apple are also very good but often get overlooked. Has an entire plant based section of the menu too, which is great and quite forward looking.
G. N.
Great atmosphere and decor. Food was pretty good. Wood fire pizzas were good and variety of toppings.
Service was good and made you feel welcome.
Definitely worth a visit.
Can get busy in the evening so either get there early or book a table.
f. s.
It's not bad, but it's not good either. The pizzas are just average but very expensive. The quality of the toppings is good, but the base is almost like those from the frozen pizzas you buy at the supermarket. The location is huge and impersonal, service for us was quite slow even if the place was half empty. Since there's a pizza pilgrims up the road, I think you're better off getting your pizza fix there.
M. T.
It's not original Napolitano sourdough pizza but a wood fired oven and the right balance of toppings still makes it a great pizza....
Pricing, may be a touch bit on the pricier side than it's real competitor - Franco Manca but one of the first restaurants I saw to pass on the VAT reduction benefit to customer...
P.
Absolutely loved this place. I had never been here before and was taken there as a surprise. They wasn't too busy at 1 on a Saturday and the atmosphere was really great that we ended up staying there for hours eating and drinking! They have healthy juices, amazing pizzas and also starters. We got king prawns and scallops and they were amazing! We then got pizzas and lasagne. The portions were a good size. I've never been to a pizza place that tasted so good, and also we didn't come away feeling like we ate a bunch of grease. Food was made so well and the service was great. I would recommend for friends and family.
R.
If you like your pizza saucy come over here. This place was buzzing and very popular, although you can't tell from the exterior. Came on a Thursday evening and it was packed, but we got a table fine with little wait. Food was good and they do a lot more than pizza
A. J.
Mac n Cheese, atmosphere and the best crew! Thanks for making an Aussie happy
E. H.
Good location in a fairly trendy area and staff were welcoming and fairly quick but the pizza itself was fairly underwhelming. Wasnt terrible by any means but for a £15-20 dining experience would have rather went to a pizza express or dominos. Cocktail selection was interesting but few classics for those interested and while the pizza had good crusts the toppings seemed to slide off and just ultimately wasn't very impressive. Atmosphere was fairly good - maybe it just wasn't for me.
I. C.
Greate food , great coffee my only disappointment was that they didn't have tiramisu on the dessert list 😔
M. M.
Great pizza, quick service and friendly staff.
H. Y.
We went with friends last night with a group of 4 and had a really good time, the environment is busy and there is a lot of waiters floating around, due to the space of the place you probably wont see them again and be served by someone else every time you need something. Which is fine but takes that service side of things out from the experience. The menu is a little confusing at first the name suggests pizza but there is so much more, pasta starters loads. Pizzas were really good, probably not the best i had but more so the location and casual setting is great. Not the cheapest either pizzas are 11/12 pounds.
S. F.
To call this “the best pizza in London”, is a bit much. But it’s very good pizza. If you come to the US and have gone to a Serious Pie, it feels just like that. The pies are big enough for two people, and the crust is thin. While some people have raved online about their mac n’ cheese, I didn’t find it to be very special. Stick to the pizzas.
One high note here is the service. The staff is very nice. Overall, it is a good experience.
X. L.
The restaurant is probably more famous for it's great location than their pizzas. The restaurant interior is good, has intimate social vibe, however the pizzas are less inspiring. The truffle paste topping consists of a few blob of the wet paste and nothing else interesting, and the pepperoni one was just a layer of salt. And the pizza dough is about as good as Domino's. They should move and let a better pizza maker to make use of the great location.
M. C.
>> Pizza
Decent, a 7/10. Nothing outstanding. The base was quite soggy.
>> Environment
Well curated, definitely not fastfoodish. Very LARGE and comfy tables.
>> Service
Very fast, although the place was fairly empty at lunchtime on Friday. Might be a different story at peak hours.
>> Value
Bad. £10 for the cheapest pizza, with prices averaging ~£14.
Not a terrible place per se, but here are much better alternatives at much lower prices around. Why should I go back?
T. C.
Excellent pizza, easily some of the best I've had in London. We shared a very large and reasonably-priced pizza between us and the staff were happy to let us split toppings for each half. It was delicious.
A. R.
Interesting pizza / bar place.... shabby chic decor with rustic food.
I noted that at some tables almost all the chairs were different... the place has an industrial feel to it. But nice and comfortable.
Pizzas are amazing.... I think it's all in the dough. The truffle pizza is really good.
A good drinks selection as well.
D. S.
Large, spacious restaurant offering excellent pizza in the heart of Shoreditch. This place is deceptively large and has a really upbeat feel about it (we visited on a Friday). The pizza is solid - not quite the best in London for me, the crusts could be softer. The tomato sauce they use on the pizzas is excellent. Would definitely visit again!
H. B.
Delicious pizza- there is good pizza everywhere in London but this was really delicious! Bar staff were so lovely and let me try 3 different wines before I decided which to get! The venue is also very cool- as to be expected in East London!
M. R.
Been great both times I've been here. Pizza is lovely and fresh with a nice selection of starters and other mains!
Tip: If you fancy a less traditional seating option, sit at the 'pizza bar' - you're sitting on the edge of the open-plan kitchen with its open pizza oven!
T. K.
Great staff. The pizza is pretty good too. We got sprayed by disinfectant when they were cleaning the table next to us. But they replaced our stuff immediately
I. M.
Their pizzas are sooooooo good! Absolutely delicious! Even my Italian friend said so! The place is huge but it's better if you book in advance. Friendly staff and reasonable price. I'll come back!
A. W.
#SoggyExpensivePizza
Looked better than it tasted
Decent atmosphere though
A. L.
Nice atmosphere for a date. Nice food! I had the lamb meatballs which was amazing and the margherita pizza was good too. Only negative is that the seating is all ripped and looks tacky. Management should replace this ASAP
G. B.
Pizza East has a great vibe don’t expect it to be overly quiet has a nice bar atmosphere.
They were extremely accommodating to a table of 12, food was great and well priced. I did not have the pizza myself but the rest of my group thoroughly enjoyed theirs.
Good place for a social gathering and large groups!
W. R. (.
Decent pizzas with a nice soft fresh dough. They are fair with the number of toppings and offer a decent variety. Pizzas are about £12 each, some selection of non pizza options but I didn’t try those. It is a big restaurant but does get booked up in advance on the weekends.
M. C.
The staff were lovely and really helpful. The room was cold around our table because the air conditioning was on too high and blowing directly on our area of the table. It is dark so photos were not very good. The pizza was ok but the other meals that my friends had looked lovely and they said that they enjoyed them.
G. P.
The definition of average pizza. The pizza is alright, it's quick and simple. Potentially a bit expensive for what you get, you could find a better bit of pizza nearby and it's always incredibly loud and busy! Wouldn't come here for a quiet meal.
T. P.
Great place. Went for lunch, service was good, food was delicious! The salami pizza we ordered could have had more cheese but other than that it was great. The macaroni cheese was perfection, nothing more to be said along with the lamb meatballs which were really nicely seasoned in a delicious sauce.
To top it off there is a good selection of beer and the staff we’re friendly and attentive. So all in all would highly recommend!
L. K.
Always really nice. We love the beautiful atmosphere and great service.
this time pizza came with 4 slices of mozzarella so most of the pizza was just dough with tomato sauce.... but usually it's much better
D. G.
super cool vibes and venue. Food is amazing and the service is fantastic.
M. G.
Good pizza, good starters. However, mediocre dessert, plain salads and quite noisy place. I would have appreciated a tiny bit of flexibility in letting me leave my pushbike inside or downstairs, where they have thousands of square feet of storage. Cool location.
J. B.
Very good food and service was great. I had their carpaccio for a starter, it was ok, but served with Parmesan cheese which overpowered the meat flavors. I ate them separately which was alright. Then their truffle pizza was delicious. So I give them the benefit of the doubt. 5 stars.
S. L.
Good food, but a bit pricey for what you get for dishes other than the full plate of pizza. Service was okay as they were late giving us the table, hence rushing us to finish to take the table back for the next seating. Manager dealt with the complaint well and let us go to the bar with a couple plates of doughnuts to remedy the situation.
S. O.
Nice decor, lovely ambiance. Lighting fixtures in particular were very eye catching and unique.
Pizza was fine, my only issue is that it was certainly not clear on the menus whether or not the pizzas had tomato bases. Both mine and my friends pizzas came with white bases, which we were unhappy with. Stating tomato in the list of toppings is not enough indication that the base is tomato.
Also, the tiramisu was tasty but at £8 a piece and such a tiny portion. Disappointing. I wouldn't be opposed to returning but I certainly don't have a pull per se.
A. M.
Great food and lovely staff. Pizzas are great, the dough is quite light and toppings change seasonally. If you go for dinner I'd recommend booking a table as in the evening it's usually packed. Make sure to leave room for dessert as they're pretty good too!
S. C.
Went there for lunch with a group of 10. Pizza was tasty, as were the cinnamon doughnuts. We were all crammed onto a small table, even though the place was mostly empty (and we had booked). Pizzas were expensive (cheapest pizza was £10). Added 12.5% service charge, which was extortionate. Everyone paid separately. They added up the total we'd paid incorrectly, so said we still owed £12.50. Turned out we were actually only £1.50 short of the total (including the service charge), and were made to pay, even though the service charge should be discretionary.
a.
I think this may be the best pizzeria I have ever been to. I can say that with confidence as my experience there is exceptional every time I go. Perfect for an intimate date or a group affair. Amazing buzz in the restaurant at all times with extremely professional staff. An odd thing, the toilets are incredible too! :) Their wine selection is first class with great pairings to go with your food. I must visit for someone going to Shoreditch.
V. S.
I've been a regular there. Pizzas are really tasty, try the truffle one. Trendy venue, lots of opportunities for people watching, wait isn't too long once you've given your name at the front desk (and you can have drinks in the bar area while waiting). Good list of Italian wines which are not overpriced. A winner!
C. T.
Took my girlfriend here for dinner on her birthday and pleased to have made the right call on this one. The atmosphere was great; busy but the venue is huge so it felt vibrant rather than irritating. The food was delicious and the cocktails were great. It only came to £50 for us both, with a pizza and cocktail each which feels cheap for London. Would highly recommend!
J. S.
Nice industrial venue and decor. Staff are very well trained and highly efficient. The sides (olives) were okay but overpriced as I felt they were not 'house style'. The garlic bread was pretty unique but rather oily albeit still firm and had a bite to it. The pizzas were pretty good with a unique twist (eg. Spicy sausage with brocoli). I'd say it's worth a visit for friends or a date. Good mid-range pizza place but slightly overpiced. I feel the premium is more for the experience rather than the food itself but food still holds it well. 🍕 ☺
M. F.
The Pizza dough is very wet in the middle and the dough chewy. The tomatoe sauce was not our taste but maybe some ppl like it. The Pizza in general could be nicer. Also Staff could pay more attention and be more friendly. The salads are quite small. All in all not the best experience and too expensive, might be the location.
B. J.
Excellent food and service. Thanks again to Gus and the rest of the team.
T. C.
We've been here 3 times, and although it has a great deal of potential they always do something to let themselves down. I like the decor and it's a good space, but the service could be much better and to be honest, they don't cook the pizzas very well, despite pizza being very simple to cook. We gave this place the benefit of the doubt twice, but after today's visit I don't think we'll return.
I. F.
Pretty easy to social distance as it was pretty quiet. The service was very good and the food tasty. £18 got me a starter, pizza and a coffee not bad. Would visit again.
S. D. C.
GREAT pizza, really good flavour combinations. The homemade ginger beer is also excellent. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. Wasn't terribly excited by anything on the dessert menu. The veal meatball pizza is highly recommended!
I. E.
Favourite pizza place. Love the dough and the different varieties of pizza you can't find anywhere else. Try the truffle pizza, prawn pizza or asparagus and ham pizza. I always add extra truffle or extra prawns! Great selection of drinks. Amazing casual dining!
K.
Pizza was delicious, with several unique choices, and fairly reasonably priced. Service was very friendly as well and our pizzas came out quickly. The decor and ambiance were the cherries on top of the dining experience. The pizza here actually reminds me of pizza that I would have in Houston, and is probably the best pizza I've had since coming to London.
S. T.
Easy to find, quick service and excellent pizza.
Four of us walked in without booking, we were seated without delay and served very quickly.
There’s a short-ish pizza menu, plus beers and soft drinks.
Y. S.
Very good pizza, too much noise
J. C.
Even that that the name of the restaurant can suggest they do pizza... they also have a great Sunday roast (among quite other nice plates). We celebrated our friend's birthday lunch at Pizza East and we had a great experience with a reasonable price. Thanks!
b. d.
Great atmosphere, the restaurant was buzzing. A simple meal of olives, almonds and pizza with a glass of wine was good value. The wine was Really good and the pizzas were great, super fresh and tasty and interesting toppings rather than the norm.
Will be back!
A. B.
Simply the best pizza I have EVER eaten. Great service too and lovely atmosphere. Who needs main stream pizza restaurants. Lovely waitress and the manager Mike both fab. Very hospitable and an overall totally amazing meal and restaurant.
J. F.
Brilliant little spot and great food! Gets very busy if there's something on at the O2, so watch out for that if looking for a quick drink or bite to eat.
B. M.
Tried the Mac and Cheese after being recommended this restaurant by my boyfriend's colleague and well, it did not disappoint. Honestly one of the best Mac and cheese dishes I've had in a while. Food arrived quickly, drinks were excellent and the price was quite fair too! Super close to Shoreditch high Street or a 10 minute walk from Liverpool Street.
Can't wait to try more things off this menu!
C. C. G.
Have only been to Pizza East once but I have to say it was amazing. The quality of the pizza was incredible, made in a wood stone oven the taste is slightly special, also the mac and cheese is worth going back for!! Great atmosphere, a little loud and hot by the bar, but nothing unbearable!
R. M.
It's good pizza, but not the best. It's extremely busy, but you can manage to get a table. It's pricey, but not ridiculously so. I still love to take guests there on their first night in London to give them a bit of the new-wave Shoreditch type of experience and for a somewhat reliable dining result.
p.
Fantastic pizza probably the best of London!
L. B.
Great authentic pizza. Ideal for large groups and parties. Quick, tasty pizza served with fresh ingredients by beautiful people in a fun atmosphere. What's not to love?
H. B.
Delicious pizza and the vibes are very vintage , located in an area with lots of small restaurants and some night spots , it was not crowded and obviously for food lovers , I loved the neighbourhood and this restaurant was worth exploring , did not disappoint at all
A. M.
Lovely place, child friendly and spacious. Really delicious pizzas, sides and desserts! For vegan options just ask - you can choose any toppings with no cheese or go for their vegan cauliflower pizza.
There are also vegan sides, plus one you can make vegan by asking for no cheese (or cheese on the side) - plus vegan meringue dessert and loads of delicious sobets!
I'd definitely go again.
A. L.
Had A pleasant surprise tonight when my girlfriend was not satisfied with her pizza(more a personal taste thing, expecting something else. Quality was not the issue) and the waiter immediately had the pizza redacted from our bill without us saying a word. Great service even though it was very full on a Friday night.
My pizza was delicious!
A. C.
Excellent pizza. Well worth the wait for a table. That just gave us more opportunity to sample some of the beers before we ate. Very reasonable prices. Great building too.
R. B.
Great place to eat but book in advance
Y. L.
The original and best Pizza East! The garlic bread is heavenly and of course the pizza is great. It can be hard to get a booking if you leave it too late but they open til late so it's often a nice option to walk in after a night out. The private area is also great to host a bday dinner. Definitely recommended!
K. G.
Exciting selection of mains, starters and other items that takes it out of the usual pizza restaurant.
Macaroni and cheese is wonderful, and am looking forward to their four-cheese and truffle pizza in the future. Highly recommended.
D. B.
Five stars - and I've never eaten a pizza here. I go at least once a month. Their meats and antipasti (including the amazing burrata) are delectable. Great wine list too and reasonably priced. Overall, a must.
M. M.
Great pizzas, good service, reasonable prices for London. I had the black truffle, mozzarella cheese and some other cheese pizza and I can tell you it was quite good. Accompanied by some Montepulchiano wine. Man did that hit the spot. All in all pleasant place with good service.
M. N.
We booked this place for a group of about 10 for a work do - and we had a lot of fun. The food was great, and easy to share across the round table. The pizza selection is one of the better ones that I have tried, and there really was a mix of different flavours - not just the same thing with a slightly different topping.
H. T.
Excellent pizza and cured meats. This is a general complaint about London’s pizza as a whole, and not necessarily reflect my opinion on Pizza East, but bring money. Somehow it feels like a pizza in London is a luxury good, and Pizza East is no different. However, great service, good food, and nice large dining area with island bar makes for a usually good night out. Usually a wait at the door for a table.
J. D.
Pizza East never disappoints. Pizzas are delicious. Last time I had a salad and it was fantastic. Poached Salmon was cooked to perfection. Service is always friendly and helpful.
L. D.
Proper authentic delicious pizza. None of that generic takeaway pizza ****. Very generous with the truffle on the truffle pizza also. AMAZING!
G. C.
I love this local haunt. There pizzas are always great and what was surprisingly excellent was the pork belly! Service was great as usual and there is a place to chill out if you arrive early. The bartender there will recommend some quality beers. No wonder there's always a long wait without a booking!
B. D.
There are lots of pizza joints out there these days, and this is one of the better ones. I love the big, industrial space the restaurant sits in. The pizza itself is as it should be - crispy, thin crusts, with savoury toppings including more exotic cheeses & meats -- beyond the usual goats cheese or mozzarella and pepperoni or parma ham. Recommended venue for big tables as well - I had a table of 8 and the service was spot on.
J. P.
The food here is amazing and they even have a vegan pizza option. The service from one waitress was extremely good, but I've knocked it down a star because two of the waiters were extremely pretentious and passive aggressive which made us feel uncomfortable. It's a shame because the ambience, vibe and food was all five star.
I will go again and give it another try. Hopefully the pretentiousness of the waiters was just a one off.
D. I.
One of my favourite pizza spots in London. Make sure you’ve got a reservation to avoid disappointment although the staff will normally do their best to squeeze you in - there’s a bar to wait in. The broccoli and spicy sausage pizza is delicious!
Y. H. L.
Very friendly italian staff who especially likes K-POP and very tasty pizza
L. B.
I visited with my daughter after a long day visiting Uni halls. We didn't book yet staff found us a table immediately even tho it was busy. Good but not exceptional pizza, plenty of choice on the menu. A couple of nice ales and great wine selection. Lovely old building, vibrant and lively. 12.5% service charge added automatically to the bill. Return visit certainly not ruled out.
N. J. P.
Second time being here! Great food, loved the spicy sausage pizza. The homemade ginger beer is also a winner!
Service is good, but maybe slightly rushed? It's a busy place, so can't really complain
S. B.
Once or maybe the best pizza in Shoreditch. New York loft warehouse look. Great location and very friendly staff. The starter and salad were really nice too. Good cocktail can’t complain all good.
t. d.
Very Cool Pizzeria that is at the heart of Shoreditch. Delicious food and good service. The restaurant is very atmospheric and airy. After work it fills out quickly and is rammed with cool types getting their first drinks in or having that post work coffee. Desserts are delicious as well and if you have a large party there is plenty of space as the place is massive.
M. P.
One of my favourite places in London to eat authentic Italian food with quality ingredients - I eat there almost every week.
I can speak highly of so many things about this place, starting from the always-smiling and welcoming reception/waiting staff. You can tell they are trained to be efficient, offer exceptional customer service and are full of personality.
The overall system works seamlessly: the moment you sit down you are promptly greeted and taken the order, then (if you are a small table) food is literally served within minutes. Of course it will take a bit longer to serve large tables but even at peak times, expect to be served super quickly. Shout out to kitchen and waiting stuff for being always so well-organised.
Food-wise there is great choice and they regularly rotate starters, some mains and now have a weekly special pizza. The latter, I think it’s one of the best in London if you like napolitan style. Not too chewy and doughy like I think Franco Manca or Pilgrims are.
It’s not cheapest Italian but their quality of food, service and overall experience provided make the price totally worth it.
L. H.
Ive been on 3 occasions now, great pizza and food in general, place has a modern but rustic style and has a good atmosphere. The staff are somewhat hit and miss in my opinion however, often clearing away your plates before everyone in the table has finished... Probably no big deal to some, but its a pet-peeve to me...
E. W.
Great food ! I recommend them
T.
Cool place with delicious pizzas!
L. B.
My favorite breakfast spot in East London. Don't think a lot of people know they do breakfast or brunch so there's never a queue, spacious tables, quiet, newspapers to read and light streaming though the windows. Coffees are well made and breakfast is all delicious, as you'd expect from Pizza East or any of the Soho House restaurants. Prices are reasonable for the area, and even better if you have a coveted PE keychain. A lovely way to start the weekend.
J. R.
The food is always delicious, the service is great, staff are always happy and helpful. We've only had to wait for a table a few times, we did so in the bar area and our table was ready in half the time we were told! We've gone as a couple as well as many times with large groups, always a great experience so we are very happy return customers!
A. B. (.
Very decent and unique pizzas, albeit not cheap ones (but nothing is around there) Loads of sitting available, and serving is fast. If they ran out of the tables, you can wait in the bar area.
D.
Having been turned away from Pizza Express cos there was an hour wait (half the tables empty!) I stumbled upon this place. It was twice as busy as PE but they found me a space at the bar and pizza appeared before I had drunk half my beer. How do they do that? Maybe PE are just getting complacent. Anyway the pizza here was fabulous, much better than PE. So goodbye PE I am a convert to Pizza East when in London.
S. G.
Pizza is very delicious. I had spicy sausage and broccoli pizza and aubergine with tomato and pine nuts and both were beyond great. Giving 4 stars because carpacio was a very tiny portion.
O. J.
Great pizzas for a decent price. The vibe is really good too, very casual. I was vegan and the time and was able to easily choose from various options. Also, they serve their red wine in a tumbler, which I love.
J. K.
When we gather together with my friends from high school we always go to Pizza East. It is a very welcoming place with the long wooden counter and the smell of amazing pizza. I have tried them all and I mostly like the one with broccoli and mozzarella. The desserts are great, too. I recommend the Strawberry cream pie.
S. M.
A great place for pizza in the city. Came here for a casual dinner with colleagues
S. E.
Absolutely epic. Hands down the best pizza I've had in a long time. The dough is amazing. My other half had a rib of beef roast dinner and it was amazing. Colliflower cheese was immence. Highly recommended
K. P. (.
The service here can be a bit temperamental, but the food is always fabulous! The pizzas are some of the better pizzas in London, and if you ask nicely they can whip up a brilliant vegan pizza. Besides pizza (obviously!), I recommend getting a side of kale - it's perfectly crispy without losing the soft, chewy kale texture and tastes great with a splash of fresh lemon.
The decor is also lovely with exposed pipes, decorative lighting and chunks of meat hanging above the exposed kitchen behind the bar.
D. K.
Great pizza place in East London. Nice atmosphere, very spacious. If you are looking for a good place that will always deliver - that's your choice. Also, the service is a big plus here. Recommended!
S. B. (.
UPDATE: 06/10/19 - they've simplified the menu since I was last there four years ago. Still great pizzas though. Oh, and +1 for the very helpful young lady that was working reception when we arrived and serving at tables afterwards - awesome front of house. (It says "Maya M" on the receipt, not sure if that's you - sorry!)
An ever so slightly pretentious (but in a good way) pizzeria just a few seconds walk from Shoreditch High Street station. You won't find pepperoni on the menu here, it's soppressata instead. I visited for lunch on a Wednesday, turning up a few minutes before the advertised opening time of noon. Service was quick and efficient. The food and drink arrived quickly. Pizza was good and the salted caramel tart was excellent. The restaurant went from practically empty to very busy over the course of 30 minutes, and when it gets busy it does get loud - probably due to all that concrete. Not sure I'd be able to handle the intensity when it gets really busy and the drunks get lary.
H. S.
Obviously this is a pit stop for anyone with an eye for a great pizza. Freshly cooked, perfect density to the dough and toppings were assorted and generous. I opted for the Margarita (in my opinion the door stop of any pizza joint - if you cant do that right your in the wrong business!) Fab. Had to ask for chilli oil but other than that the service was fine. Were not talking fine dining here just good honest well made pizza.Simple.
T. W.
A great atmosphere in this large industrial/rustic set up. The starters were excellent (bone marrow and also a salted cod purée of sorts), the pizzas were perfectly decent but unremarkable. The salmon side salad was huge, well dressed and there was loads of honey smoked salmon fillet. Good friendly service. I would return.
K. M.
Wonderful staff, great location for a private party
K. M.
The food is delicious and service is quick and friendly, but you don't feel rushed. Definitely great for a late meal after a few drinks with friends. They have a cloak room so you can leave big bags/coats etc if you have them.
Toilets are split into binary genders.
C. A.
Quality pizza and super fast, was a little loud so if you wanted something more intimate I'd try another place. For its size it was super quick, we had a table for 6 and were in a hurry, we were seated, order taken and done with 45 mins.
Y. U.
Amazing place for super-delicious pizzas. Highly recommend the San Daniele and burrata 👌
C. H.
One of my favourite Pizza Places in London, and in Shoreditch, Pizza East is a must. It's almost always very busy so you'll definitely want to book in advance.
The ambience is relaxed with a hint of romanticism. The food is delicious, and your orders are prepared and made freshly within placing of the order. I'd describe it as Artisanal and authentic. The food is filling and flavoursome and they also have a great dessert selection too! The salted caramel is delicious!
J. K.
My partner and I came here on a Saturday evening after reading the great reviews and being rejected from our first choice of restaurant after they stopped taking walk ins.
The evening started out promising, if not a little confusing with the open plan bar waiting area. This bar is very open and I understand what they were trying to achieve here but the layout is all wrong resulting in a lot of people gathering around and no clear way of knowing if there is a queue, who is in it and how to be served. The cocktails were decent though so we were happy with that.
When we were showed to our table however we were shocked to be lead to a very busy table that looked like a private party and plonked in the middle. Again, we understand the concept here but my partner and I were sat opposite each other on this long table and we couldn’t hear each other talking and had to constantly strain to lean over the table to hear each other. This is also a worst nightmare for someone like me who struggles from social anxiety.
The two sets of people that we were sat between were perfectly nice people, one was a small group of men and the other a large birthday party. Some of the conversations about oral sex that we overheard could have been done without though...
The pizza itself was decent, although a little too much cheese (which is something I never thought I would say!) My partner loved his pizza though and ate every last bit, which is usually very unlike him!
J. C.
Everyone knows about the tasty pizzas, but thankfully, few know how good the breakfasts/brunches are here. Nicely priced too, and you don't even need to book on a weekend morning. Considering how busy everywhere else in the area is at this time, it's a pleasure to visit.
R. T.
Fantastic pizza and staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was that the industrial nature of the building means that there is nothing to absorb sound so when it filled up we were almost having to shout across the table to hear each other. Would definitely go back though!!
S. W.
Very cool place. Lovely helpful staff. Rally reasonably priced. However the pizza was pretty average in my view. Certainly better than the big chains but also not as tasty and authentic as the menu promised.
B. D.
Good pizza, shame about the service. The pizza dough was very soft and fresh. For the price the pizza is good but not great. I was disappointed by the lady at reception who was far too cold and unfriendly, hence the 3 star rating
A. D.
The pizza was good. We decided to order some extra cocktails before heading out but was ignored for a while and then when someone did take the order it never arrived and we ended up cancelling the drinks and leaving. The waitress didn't even apologise and I felt it was a disappointing end to the evening.

Absolutely love these guys pizzas...
Especially for the vegan options 🌿
They're just beautiful and have original (not boring) fresh, toppings -- with high quality ingredients.
I'm just dying to know where they get their Marinated Olives and Marcona Almonds from...
They're so tasty and full of flavour!
(Definitely a must try.)
However, a little on the pricey side... So I don't eat as often as I want to! 😅
(I've mostly ordered in and the delivery is great.
Eaten in a couple of times - nice, cosey relaxed dining with friendly/good table service)
At summer they did a great:
- pea, artichoke, heritage tomato and mint pizza (V)
(So fresh and felt so good after eating it...)
Currently, for winter they now have:
Cauliflower cream, spinach and wild mushrooms (V)
(I always add tenderstem brocolli as an extra topping, which tastes amazing and adds extra flavour & texture)
They have such great quality ingredients, veggie / vegan alternatives and a really beautiful pizza base.
You shouldn't wait around to visit or try this place!
Thanks for the decent veggie / vegan pizzas, Pizza East! 💚

My third favourite pizza place in London, so only 3 stars. The pizza is very good but the options are limited. You don't have your standard pizza's but a good mix. It is a very large space that has events in the section below where you can also order food from. Staff are friendly and kind and service is very good.
S. C.
The food, starters and pizzas, was excellent. Service was good. The style of the place was fitting. We were impressed that outside noise, including a train passing on a nearby elevated track, was not noticeable. The inside sounds levels were good, allowing for conversation at normal volume.
R. G.
Great food and atmosphere! Lovely cocktails!
D. P.
Great Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is very cool, and the food is delicious. Recommend the Burrata and the truffle pizza. There is also a coat check which is helpful, and if it's busy and there's a wait (which there often is) you can leave your number and they will call you once the table is free.
J. T.
Really cool atmosphere. I had the shrimp pizza, plenty of spice and nicely wood fired
Highly recommended.
Only down side, the bar Waiter literally spilled red wine ever time he poured or topped up our glass
S. L.
This place is no doubt popular and the food was good. However, the service was lousy. Had to ask three times for glasses, twice for chili oil, wrong things were delivered, etc. The only time the waitress paid attention was to tell us our time was up and to pay the bill.
S. W.
Nice pizza, good service, but there are far better value for money pizza places that do just as good pizza. Enjoyed the meal, but will not rush back as I felt we could have had the same experience for much less elsewhere base off experience at other popular pizza spots around London.
R. P.
One of the best places for America style pizza/Italian food. Very popular so you have to reserve. Restaurant is in the popular Shoreditch area of London located in an old corner building. One of the best garlic bread I have ever eaten.
T. M.
Creative pizzas, albeit with slightly soggy crust. Great atmosphere, keep in mind for big parties can be hard to hear everyone at your table. Lots of excellent vegetarian pizzas and appetizers - so not just a bunch of cheese.
c. s.
Great pizza, great service. Must eat here!
H. J.
Bear in mind that I'm lactose intolerant and that's where my viewpoint comes from. There aren't very many choices that are low on cheese so I can take a lactase pill and enjoy the same things as my friends who booked the restaurant. The food that I had was pretty nice but it would be good to have a bit more in the way of choice as I had two starters as my meal which worked out kinda expensive. If you're vegan I'd definitely check the menu beforehand.
They do a good job of dealing with large groups so I'd definitely recommend them for that if everyone likes pizza but the staff were kind of annoyed with us when we asked them to repeat what they said when they brought the dishes as it was a little tough to hear them so don't take it personally.
S. B.
The Pizza was one of the best Pizzas I've ever eaten! It was very creative and tasted overwhelming. Be careful about reservations, we still had to wait about one hour until we could be seated. However it's kinda expensive.. but worth a visit at least once.
M. E.
Great Italian pizza in a trendy warehouse-type setting. The pizzas are delicious. For meat lovers I´d recommend the Veal meatballs, prosciutto and cream. The place gets really busy, so it´s a good idea to reserve a table. All the staff were really nice and the food was served really fast, I don´t think we waited for our pizza more than 10 minutes. There was background music but it wasn´t too loud, so it was easy to have a conversation. The only objection I could think of is that if you are seated in one of the common long tables, it might be a bit uncomfortable as the person seated next to you is really close.
R. B.
Trendy atmosphere, average pizza. The interior of the restaurant and general atmosphere very good but it's let down by the pizzas. They're not bad, just not great either. The oven looks gas powered rather than wood burning and it shows in the pizza. The texture is different and feels a little over cooked and rigid. Try the pizza at Sartori or Santa Maria and you'll notice the difference.
M. M.
Large pizza establishment in cool area, food is fine, nothing special, service is good. Great place to eat with friends or colleagues at a reasonable price.
A. H.
Walking into the Shoreditch branch, I found a relatively large and bustling restaurant - so clearly a popular place.
Naturally I ordered a pizza and found it had a good crispy base and crust - just how I like it. The toppings were a bit sparse though. Nonetheless overall it was a good decent-sized pizza that filled me up.
N. C.
Food was pretty good (smoky Mac & Cheese was great), drinks were okay as well. But the service wasn't great and the atmosphere wasn't great either (quite loud and rushed). Both of these were probably because they were quite busy, so if that's your cup of tea, you'll certainly like it.
E. D.
Fancy pizza place in Shoreditch serving wood-fired oven pizza. The sausage & broccoli pizza is good as a main, and the beef cheek is nice as a starter. Two people can share a pizza easily. Minus one star for the less-than-expansive beer selection, but this pizza place could be too classy for beer!
J. N.
Whilst I do think there are equally as good if not better pizza joints in the area (depending what you're into- PParadise Slice for NY and Homeslice for contemporary flavas), none of them even begin to compare to Pizza East when it comes to non-pizza items on the menu, which is where Pizza East really shines. The wood oven cooked dishes are my personal favourites, particularly the Mac n Cheese and Pork Belly with Salsa Verde. Also great for Deliveroo orders!!!
T. B.
The original trendy Pizza place. Although ruined a bit when they opened one in West London.
Great pizzas, good beer and the bar isn't too bad either.
It's become a haven for trend tourists - so often hard to get a table and a very long wait.
D. P.
Best Pizzas I have tried in London, great atmosphere!
G. M.
Being Italian, I am very fussy about pizza in London. Pizza East is obviously not an authentic pizzeria and yet, I enjoy eating here every now and then.
The restaurant is located on the mezzanine of the Tea Building in Shoreditch, a former tea warehouse and one of my favourite buildings in London. Exposed bricks, big windows, high ceilings: the space is big and beautiful; the atmosphere is always buzzing.
The pizzas are thick (Neapolitan style) but the toppings are definitely un-traditional: the English Breakfast pizza with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages will make any Italian scream. It doesn't taste bad though and it makes for a great hangover meal! ;)
The service could do with a bit of added friendliness, as you get the feeling of being at a chain restaurant, with the rushed service and sometimes abrupt tones. I was told off for taking photos once, which I think shows the kind of stubborn attitude of restaurants that are not open to criticism - or think they are so good everybody will want to copy them! They should believe more in their brand and be confident enough to let customers photograph it.
F. P. D.
Great pizza in the east with authentic quality ingredients. Love the San Danielle
S. A.
Good food, but nothing too special. The starters were ok and the pizza was slightly better. I'd recommend going somewhere else if you're after good food. The place has a nice vibe, however, and so it's a fun place to be as a group
C. B.
I love Pizza East. They have tasteful pizza ever! Place was good and awesome. Services are very fine. Their staffs are so friendly and easy to please. Well definitely I will be back here with my family and friends.
M. M. C.
Very nice pizza, expensive drinks (for a pizza place), very noisy so probably not very good for a romantic date (we were a big group so we were ok). And that 12.5% tip I find really irritating, which restaurants tell you is optional but not really optional since, because it's already on the bill, you have to explain to the waiter/waitress that you want to pay 'less' when what you really want is for other people not to make decisions for you. Highly annoying.
S. R.
If you like pizzas, this is a must. Consistently great pizzas, awesome vibe and nice, attentive service. Maybe a bit too busy and noisy at times, but for a good lunch or dinner in a good atmosphere, this place won't let you down.
A. V.
Great pizza. Seriously amazing. After traveling around Italy I could say that these guys make the best pizza in Italy. The only minus was the loud atmosphere. It was very difficult to hear what my dinner companions were telling me.
A.
So good, the best burata and pizza I've ever had in London.
A. G.
Not sure it’s quite worth all the hype: the pizzas are no better than rivals such as Franco Manca. The drinks are on the expensive side (cocktails around £10). Service gets very slow once it gets busy.
S. H.
Hipster pizza. The food is excellent, go with friends and share a few starters and pizzas. The service is fast, but impersonal. Check out the old-school black and white photo booth after you have gorged yourself on fine pizza.
A. P.
Very trendy and busy but has a huge capacity, great for large groups or just a quick lunch in the heart of Shoreditch. Yummy sourdough pizzas but a really good collection of other dishes too.
Z. A.
Very pricey but they do some amazing food if you have Taste for it. Their Mac and cheese is amazing along with their donuts. Light, perfectly cooked and just the right amount of sugar.
R. P.
Very delicious italian meals. Interesting & tasty orange coloured oil. I love the rustic styled furniture. Very casual. Prizes are resonable but not cheap. Waitress could be less cocky and unfriendly tho...
L. E.
The pizza is awesome, and they have vegan options!
J. S.
Roast dinner is amazing, just had the best Belly Pork I've probably ever tasted, that's a mean feat as I'm a passionate foodie. Was recommended this by a fellow foodie & it didn't disappoint. Service great, food amazing & the decor is rustic & very cool. Will further recommend to others.
A. D.
A bit like a huge chain trying to be cool. Quite expensive and the food doesn't quite live up to the price. Industrial cool interior great for groups but you won't have a nice quiet bite for two here.
There are better options out there.
L. P.
The cheeseburger pizza is my personal favorite. One of the few pizza places here that doesn't serve cardboard covered in cheese. This place is great and has a nice patio. Love it guys! You must try :)
D. M.
Honestly, this place has the nicest lasagne I’ve had in a restaurant. Would love some potatoes with it if they had the option but you just have to try it.
Staff are brilliant - the guy in charge of the takeout/side bar section is a legend, while the chaps on the bar are great.
J. S.
Very relaxed hang out bar/eatery. I really like the vibe inside and they have authentic pizza and pasta dishes on serve. Loud music with a American NY pizzeria feel. Also the wine list is great.
R. A.
Great service but a cut in half ciabatta garlic bread and 2 pizzas and 2 drinks for just shy for £50 is just too expensive. The pizza is no better than franco manca but the prices much more. The surroundings are nice and industrial. I won’t return.
J.
Good:
Food was nice.
Service was good.
Bad:
So noisy you can't hear people speak.
They cram you in too tight. Our table was next to people eating on a counter higher up and their arses were literally hanging over our table!
E. c.
Big buzzy pizza place in Shoreditch. Delicious pizza and sides, calamari and croquettes are good! Nice wine too! It gets busy but you'll get a table quickly, big groups should book.
N. J.
I went there with a friend two days ago! I had to share my excitement with you guys..the food there is delicious. Besides if you have time and check the website, you will like the portfolio and the images in the gallery. Unfortunately, the only thing that I'm not a big fan of.. are the lamps in Pizza East. Without a doubt they are modern, but I prefer furniture in brighter colours.
R. B.
Good, but not great pizza spot in East London. It is very trendy, nice space and good for groups - I would go with friends, especially if you are going out afterwards in the area. However, I have only been once since the quality of the pizza was mediocre and was expensive relative to other Pizza options in central London.
D.
While looking for a bite to eat around the area on one of the hottest days, we discovered this place which had nice aircon and a decent priced menu. I ordered the asparagus and pancetta pizza which was nice for the first 1/4. The cream started to kick in and feel a bit sickly, on top of that the amount of inedible cartilage and bones from the pancetta... put me off completely, I’m glad I left with my teeth unscathed. Thinking back now I should have complained, oh well it was way too hot that day, zombified. I would return to try another pizza before I say never again. It was a nice environment and relaxed during the afternoon.
J. F.
Great pizza, very nice staff who seem happy to be there.
Very busy and the restaurant was quite hot, I'm guessing from the ovens.
Overall, I'm definitely going again!
R. M.
Vegetarian options are quite limited. Staff are nice and a good atmosphere though
R. L.
Great atmosphere and vibes here! We went on a busy Wednesday at 7, so if you can do try and boom ahead. They have wine on tap and plenty of burrata on the menu so I'll definitely be back again: we shared two pizzas, the veal meatball and nduja & ricotta, both really yummy, but I've heard great things about their non pizza food too!
f. c.
I couldn't recommend this place more. I'm a regular at this place and end up eating there at least once or twice a week. It's got a small but really nice menu and the the atmosphere in there is great. Be warned this place is popular so no matter what time you show up at you're going to have a wait. It's usually no more than 30 mins and they've got a pace to grab a drink while you wait. Failing that, go grab a beer and they'll text you when your table is ready.
G. W.
Amazing food - I had the pork belly pizza. It was so delicious and even came with crackling on the top. It's slightly pricey, especially for drinks. Great service, but they add the tip automatically - not a fan of that.
J. K.
Food was good but the whole experience was pretty poor. I went last night with 6 friends and we arrived to be told we’d get a table within one hour and a half. We were fine with that so put our names down and went to a nearby pub for a drink. When we received the second text to say our table was ready we left for Pizza East immediately. We arrived and told staff we had received the text. They asked us to stand to the side. After 5 mins we asked again, they didn’t give us any info other than asking us to ‘get out the way’. After another 10 minutes we asked and they said 2 mins. Another 5 mins and they were running around trying to find spare chairs to add to the end of a bench. They then blamed us for not arriving within the 5 minute window and that’s why they gave our table away. They squeezed us onto a table so much that we couldn’t even move our arms whilst we ate. This has also got to be the last pizza place in London to not introduce gluten free pizza based. The food was good and our waitress was lovely though
R. M.
Built in the remains of The Tea Bar, Pizza East is in many ways a gastro pizza Chain ( I say that as a good thing).
The pizzas and starters are all freshly made and you can taste the defitite step up in quality from a Pizza Express for example.
The prices are decent without being bank busting and as an experience it's excellent. It can be busy so it's worth booking especially for groups , and there is a nice bar area , however this will fill up on Friday night with a number of tea Building workers and make it very busy.
e. R.
Good place. Pizza is well made Neapolitan style. Good quality of ingredients. Nice atmosphere on weekends. Recommended to book at busy times.
R. A.
Probably one of the better places to get a great pizza in the area, in a really nice setting which is always buzzing with a good atmosphere. Unfortunately it's let itself go a bit recently with unhelpful staff, rude doormen and a menu which isn't like what it used to be, saying that... It's still worth a visit if you haven't been. If you're coming here over the weekend make sure you book in advance.
T. B.
One of the best Pizza restaurants I've been to in London. It was a little more pricey compared to other places, but you get what you pay for, as fast service and great food make for an enjoyable experience.. We ordered Vegetarian and Pepperoni dishes.
R. M.
I enjoyed Pizza East. A group of friends stumble upon the place. We were looking for somewhere to have a drink before heading home. Pizza East is located in Shoreditch at the famous Tea building. The place was busy but the front of the house was very accommodating. He found a place for us to seat to have drinks and eat their very good quality Italian meats and cheese platter. I definitelly want to go back to try the pizzas.
B. B.
Hefty prices vs. Franco Manca but great selection of Pizzas on the menu plus cool decor as you'd expect with it being part of Shoreditch House. I've been for a birthday and a class reunion and it definitely has a celebratory feel to it, with the low lighting making it more atmospheric and suited for dinners.
P. N.
Some of the staff were a little rude but the food was good. Atmosphere was good also.
A. R.
This is a huge trendy warehouse style restaurant. There are tables around the open kitchen which is quite entertaining if you are bored of the people you are talking too. Food is good and the staff is friendly. I went on a Friday and there was a bit of a wait but they took a number and text when the table was nearly ready. Perfect to catch a few drinks before the meal.
K. M.
Pizza is great!
Dought is light but substantial.
Toppings are of good quality.
A bit overpriced, though, like most pizza in the UK, but still.
C. K.
Was an absolute delight...The service was first class, the food was excellent. The venue itself was buzzing. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Ta, Carl.
Ps...Didn't opt for the pizza though, had the pork belly inside. Really glad I did. One of the best I've had in a long time.
L. D.
I enjoyed the pizza and I love the fact that they store your coat for you, and that there is a comfy bar to sit at while you wait for your table. Not bad at all.
D. M.
Trendy place always busy. Have been here a few times for a quick bite with friends and it has always delivered. The atmosphere is good and the food is very good (I have only tried the pizzas and some meat platters to share). I would go again and recommend this place.
M. G.
If you want the funkiest, trendiest, pizza in London check out Pizza East. I've been twice and had an amazing experience both times. So much so I'm compelled to write a review. The food is incredible, If you do go please please please get the Garlic Bread. The service is impecable with friendly, knowledgable staff. It's in an old tea factory so a lot of the decor is still visible. Just a note, it's ALWASY busy and as much as this adds to the atmosphere make sure you book in advanced if you dont want to wait.
J.
Pretty good pizza, trendy industrial space, a bit on the pricey side. If you want to get a large group for a birthday dinner, this is your place (I heard the birthday song about 4 times at different tables when I was there.) Otherwise, with a smaller group I'd go to Story Deli down the road instead.
S. F.
Lovely atmosphere – cozy and friendly with very good service. The pizza is tasty and melts in your mouth. Actually, it’s the best I have tasted in a long time. Keep on the good work fellows!
M. M.
Best Ice cream in London.....odd i know but its so smooth and creamy ypu have to come here just to try. Other than that pizza east has a good quirky selection of pizzas laced with plenty of interesting veggies and unusual meats. Definatley good for foodies and not so great if you like your pizza dominoes style with ham and pineapple or pepperoni. Service is often a pretty slow and you automatically get charged 12.5 % for the priveledge, which is not so good. Staff are always friendly however which is good.
S. H.
The pizzas we had were really nice, but the service wasn't great and the atmosphere lacking. I felt it was a bit overpriced for what it was - the prosecco is served in regular glasses (and there was dirt in mine when they first served it), they got our order wrong and barely apologised.
J. G.
Very accommodating staff with an enthusiastic buzz even when really busy. Very kind and offered really tasty vegan options - we did double check with the staff for recommendations. The seating is at shared tables so if you don't mind this its great and quick service.
F. S.
Very Snobby but good pizza.
Z. Z. N.
Very yummy food and bustling in the evenings.
We sat at the bar looking at the kitchen so we could see the operation and workflow - Service definitely had some hiccups from time to time resulting in some dishes sitting around for too long before getting on the tables.
But still, overall a great place to go with a bunch of good friends for some easy casual food and wine
M. D.
Delicious pizza. Friendly staff. Very overpriced. There is a token you can get to give you a discount... I forget how much, but I think it was about 25%. There is a photo booth in the basement, in case you want to follow up the meal with some group shots.
S. D.
Honestly one of my favourite restaurants in this part of town - absolutely stunning decor (low ceilinged huge rooms, mismatched vintage furniture, cool atmosphere) matched by even better food. The ingredients are high quality so, whether you go for charcuterie starter or something like a veal meatball pizza, it's always good - I've never been let down by a dish here. On the minus side, try to avoid weekend evenings as it gets horribly full and, although they have a nice bar where you can wait, the crowd is a bit too cool for school on Fridays/Saturdays.
N. C.
Best pizza place in London. Amazing food and really cool place.
J. S.
Pretty good Napoli style pizza. Not the best I've had in the UK though. Some of the toppings had too many ingredients. Liked the small menu though.
T. M.
Reasonably priced pizza with an excellent selection: it remains the only place in London I have found which offers a pork belly and fried mushroom pizza. However, the pizzas could have benefited either from a wider spread of toppings or some form of dip to help polish off the generous crusts.
D. L.
The appetizers in the fixed menu are way better than the pizzas. Most importantly, they need to CUT their pizzas properly... Our group had a major struggle with 15 partially cut pizzas.
Z. P.
Pizza East being a pizza place I should probably rave about their main item (which are supremely good) but it was the avocado salad that stole my heart. Ok, so I'm an avocado fan already but this simple side of butter lettuce, vinaigrette and avocado disappeared faster than the slices of pizza did (usually I eat the salad last). Of course, my aubergine, tomato and smoked mozzarella pizza wasn't far behind really – light, crispy, tasty, the kind you nod in agreement at while you eat.
T. M.
Always a solid choice. Good pizza (although the one on the table next to us looked oddly burned) and nice antipasti. Nice bottle of wine too.
C. J.
Try the marinated artichokes, I'll be thinking about them for weeks!!
G. J.
Ok pizza in a very buzy and busy restaurant. The food is fine, nothing spectacular, but always decent. If you want a place with atmosphere then this ticks that box.
G. W.
Had a birthday dinner here recently with a party of 10, overall it was quite average. I had the Veal meatball pizza, fairly priced but not worth it for the quality. The veal and other toppings were delicious, but the centre of the pizza was sloppy and very greasy, while my friends pizzas were perfectly cooked and crisp in the centre also my food was only tepid when it arrived to me.
My main problem with the restaurant was the service, waiters were fine and dealt with out large party with ease, however it was the front of house that let us down. We had a table booked for 8:30pm, the time was essential as it was actually a surprise meal; we arrived at 8:29pm and were told the table wasn't ready and it would be a short wait. We ended up having to wait 25 minutes for our table to be ready. During that time we had to sit around in the bar area and enjoy the football, but whilst there i couldn't help but feel we were expected to buy drinks.
With the wait and the poor food, we managed to still enjoy our time there, but we would avoid having a large group meal there again.
G. K.
Very Cool Pizzeria that is at the heart of Shoreditch. Delicious food and good service. The restaurant is very atmospheric and airey. After work it fills out quickly and is rammed with cool types getting their first drinks in or having that post work cuppacino.
Desserts are delicious as well and if you have a large party there is plenty of space as the place is massive.
C. W.
A great pizza place in England's east side. This is not like pizza in America. You eat it with knife and fork. It delicious. My husband was very happy with the Mac and Cheese.
K. N.
Really great pizza and interesting flavour combos. The trattoria offers a fabulous selection of Italian cold cuts and cheeses. Cool vibe and efficient service. The negronis are a must!
G. N.
Mixed bag. Food delivered less than 5 minutes after ordering (including cold pizza), wine served in tumblers, white wine was warm. Service was attentive and professional.
T. N.
Really good food in a hip area. Pizza dough was very tasty and crunchy, but also the salads. Definitely worth to take a stroll around Shoreditch and eat at Pizza East. Alquintopino strongly recommends!
B. J.
Fantastic vibe, easily a place to have a good chat with ambient music playing, dimly lit without being too cosy so there's still a casual vibe. The food is just amazing and extremely well made and full of flavour, I was massively taken aback by just how good it was! Can't wait to come back.
B. E.
Pizza east has a great vibe around it, and is always thriving with people! The food is extremely nice, and they offer a wide variety to reach all preferred tastes. The service is very fast and efficient too, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
R. T.
I felt it noteworthy to update my review, as I have finally tried the actual PIZZA at PIZZA EAST. My family and I ordered the Mexican Chicken Fajita pizza (fajita chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, alfredo, chili powder, and four types of cheeses). It was very flavorful and quite good!
s. m.
Can't fault them for trendiness- although not new, Pizza East still "has it" and it is the one place I always bring visiting friends to to get a taste of the East, at least visually. the space is great, and the bar is a nice place to drink soemthing and have an (expensive) sharing plate of cured meats and cheese.
The problem to me is the pizza. I dubbed the place "pizza yEast" as I find their pizzas waaaaay too doughy and they really do upset my belly - a reaction I get every time I eat pizza or bread which has not properly risen or has too much yeast in it. I LOVE Neapolitan style pizza but it has to be made properly, and this one just does not agree with me. The rest of the food is acceptable (thumbs up for goose fat potatoes) but I would stick to the bar area overall.
D. W.
amazing service with amazing food. we were a group of 13 for a business lunch. the guys said we just need to pick the food we want from a set menu and they will decide the quantities. needless to say these guys brought out enough food for us to eat but not too much for us to have a food coma afterwards. cant recommend concrete bar enough either!
L. N.
We turned up as a group of 15 people without booking on a busy Saturday evening and only waited 30min for the table thanks to the extremely helpful and kind girls at the reception table. The waiting staffs are quick and efficient , I am very satisfied with the service. The food is affordable and tasty, especially the pizzas and tiramisu. Highly recommend!
P. B.
Three of us went without a booking on a Saturday evening but a very slick mobile process got us to our seats inside the 15 minutes quoted. Food was excellent and very good value. Lovely meal for all of us. Recommended.
Y. R.
Nice food, nice staff. I just felt the table service was over the top, meaning i would take a sip of my drink and it would be topped up in seconds and it was rushed, then when it came to eat someone would pop up and ask if everything ok and thats fine but it felt like it was every mouth full i had. Me personal i like to eat in peace.
But it is a great place.
R. G.
Great location, for the Spitafielders ;) on Sundays and very spacious place, with great atmosphere, helpful staff and relatively good service. Its a big place, with so many tables, you share with other fellow patrons and some reserved for yourselves only. So make sure you double check your bill before you pay.
The pizza's are sooooo goooood!! well proportioned without leaving the guilty feeling; if you have to leave some behind ;) which I doubt most do.
Child friendly place but I would avoid it on Fridays and Saturdays.
A single waiter/waitress serves 5 / 6 tables with so many orders so the service can be slow, which is expected, but the disappointment is when you order a simple beer with one and (s)he isn't allocated to your table they promptly tell you "I will ask your waiter to serve you", this is a restaurant, we are not there for the company of "John" ! so please get your act together Pizza East! otherwise its a Five star experience.
S. B.
Thank you, PIZZA EAST! I had my rehearsal dinner here which meant housing 25 people, including kids, and they were WONDERFUL! Thank you to Chip for your amazing customer service, helping us choose how much pizza to buy, and putting up with my crazy crew. And the pizza was fantastic of course. I'm eating the leftovers now!
G. W.
Just nipped to get out of the rain. Experienced a wonderful Lasagna and excellent coffee. Roast was good (needed gravy). All in all, fantastic.

I didn't know anything about this place before i arrived with friends and it was a nice surprise. It's like a massive warehouse buzzing with activity and serving up tasty food.
Great place to grab some food before a night out in Shoreditch. It's casual but trendy. It's not the place necessarily to go for romance or a posh do, but defo a place to go with mates. The food was good, highly recommend the Mac Cheese. I'll be back.

Pleasant pizza place, but unfortunately I don't like the interior. It is just not the same as my personal choice for furniture, decoration etc. But the food is one of a kind. Their special offers are worthy.

It's not very vegan friendly, and that's my one agenda when I eat out! Most of the stuff on the menu, I didn't know what it was. Meat and cheese, I assume. I suppose they think that having 600 types of meat and cheese no one has heard of makes them fancy but I think it's just old fashioned now, especially in Shoreditch. The one vegan thing they did have (tahini aubergine with pomegranate) was really delicious, though small (because it was just a side) - so clearly they can do better. I hope they will in the future!

Smiley helpful staff (one or two not but heyho), nice roomy layout, free cloakroom, flexible spaces (we were family of 15 of all ages), yummy starters, some great mains (strangely not so much the pizzas, doughy and a bit bland but the beef looked excellent). Recommended.

The pizzas here are good, if not a bit pricy. It's a big place and the staff seemed incredibly stretched when we last visited - the kitchen staff were yelling at each other and the table staff were quite blunt with us.

Great Pizza and salad. Quick service. Friendly staff. Cosy place and suffeciently lit. Well priced alcohol. Great sights of the neighborhood if you get a window side table.

Feels like a restaurant designed for darker winter months. Quite dark inside but nice. Very good pizza and attentive staff. Baby friendly too although moreso for lunch.

Perfectly organized, lovely staff, they do not have gluten free pizza o pasta with is a shame even though they do have gluten free options. Good value, highly recommended.

Industrial meets Trattoria. Vegan + vegetarian options. Try the Mac ‘n cheese!

The burrata pizza was a triumph. Good drinks and nice atmosphere - good for fuel pre-going out. There is a bar downstairs. The service was quick and friendly.

Best pizza that I have had in London. It looked quite average, and there was a bit too much tomato sauce. However three crust and base were sublime!

Nice place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner! Nice food and service.

Grimmest, most over-priced pizza I've ever had the pleasure of leaving most of on the plate. No recommendations or return custom from me - All down to this one abominable pizza!
I ordered the Veal meatball pizza, imagining a lovely saucey base topped with prime quality meat. A staple for any pizzeria, surely. The description also stated there would be cream involved. Interesting. Preparation time was good, but no wonder; Instead, I'm greeted by a circle of bread with no sauce, no cheese that is drenched in grease (the cream?) with mince meat that looks like it's been cooked using warm water. Seriously. Now a pizza without any sauce whatsoever cannot be called anything more than a flat bread, can it? So, I asked for some sauce and I received a small tub of cold Passata. And it was an improvement.
Price for soggy bread and meat? £13.80 after VAT and service charge - worth paying just to avoid making the experience even more unpleasant. The whole service suggested that Pizza-east holds a certain level of contempt for it's custom.

A fantastic pizza restaurant cum bar next to Shoreditch High Street station. This large restauratn gets very busy so make sure you book. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the style and feel of this industrial type space work briliiantly, The pizza's are not the biggest but do use good quality ingredients, a little pricey but definitely worth going.

I took the pizza. Location very nice and service good with helpful waiter, certainty one good thing was been that they use wood ovens, but for my personal taste, the pizza could be improved, but is not bad.

I love this place, most of the time it is really busy, if you haven't booked you can still normally get a table but you may have to wait for 30mins in the bar area (always takes less time than they say!) where if your starving hungry you can order some charcuterie, bread & olives - I have had roasted almonds and olives every time I've been which are delicious! My favourite main is the spicy sausage, mozzarella & tenderstem broccoli pizza. It has a nice New York feel to it with low lighting and an easy friendly atmosphere - it's ok to eat your pizza with your hands!

Amazing pizza and I love the place, looks so cool. It's a lively atmosphere and you will likely have to wait a while for a table if you haven't booked.

Relaxed and chill place - good pizza, cold beer, helpful staff and great atmosphere. Would go visit again if I am around the area.

Good place to have a pizza! Staff is really kind. Prices are fair and dessert was wonderful! You should definitely try the Panna Cotta with rhubarb. Booking is a good idea!

The vegan pizza was really a rather poor joke ... tasteless mashed potatoes on bread. Apart from that, is a rather loud market hall type place ... a question of taste, I didn't find it a relaxing experience

decent pizza - nice thin base,. perhaps a little greasy. I had the spicy sausage, tender stem brocolli and mozarella pizza. a good choice, although not what i would call spicy. the chilli flakes fixed that! Also had the jersey royals which were tin little potatoes served in more oil, rosemary and salt. very tasty. The olive and almond starter was once of the best I've had. juicy olives that easily peel away from the stone with roasted almonds. nice!

Great food, lovely staff and atmosphere, and great knowledge of allergies - they adjusted lots of dishes to make them gluten-free and generally put us at ease. Definitely recommend!

Great tasty Pizzas! I enjoyed the rich tomato sauce in.
Accomodating staff too even during the latest night serving.

In my opinion, the best Pizza in London. The ingredients arrive fresh from Italy and inclue the creamiest Burrata. If Pizza isn't your thing, they have a great cheese board and meat board. I won't say anymore but implore you to go and try it for yourself.

Really good pizza. They could improve the quality a littlle a deliver an extremely good product. The tomato souce is just coming straight away from the can without any addition of garlic and basil. Also, the "mozzarella" cheese they use come in a liquid state. Not really italian.

A trendy restaurant with a spacious interior. Food is good if a little pricey - I recommend the pulled pork pizza. Experience tarnished slightly by the sight of the bill - watch out for the 12.5% service charge!
R. J.
I've always liked this place but today it was disappointing. It took a while to be served, I ordered the San Daniele with extra cheese, when it came they had put raw cheese on top with out melting it! I will go back anyway as I think their pizzas are usually good.

The restaurant is really cool inside. We shared mac and cheese, veal meatball pizza and some brunch items, which were all really tasty. Bloody mary's were great and service was fast and friendly. Will go back for sure!

The Pizza East is the best place to have a proper pizza in east London! Great staff, clean and massive place! If you wander how the pizza may taste in here, go in then and you won't regret

+ Delicious pizza, + awesome industrial interior, - noisy
I am a huge pizza fan and at every city I travel to I am checking on outstanding pizza restaurants. Visiting London my first shot was already successful: 11 outstanding freshly prepared variations are waiting at Pizza East at Shoreditch High Street and Portobello Road.
The restaurant in Shoreditch is located at the ground floor of an old tea factory using plenty of their relicts in the interior. Downstairs is a club that I didn’t visit but I actually looked interesting.
The branch in West London reminds more of a kitchen caused by the ceiling high tile walls and open pizza bar. Anyways, foodies that love pizza will find their happy place here! E. g. the Speck & Spinach Pizza is mouth-watering!
Credit cards accepted! Average pizza: £11, pint of beer: £4, wine £5 (glass)/ £20 (carafe).

Great venue and good value food. It's always busy here but my group of friends and I managed to get seated at a communal table without a reservation. The food is good, though there is still some room for improvement. My friends were impressed with their pizzas. I on the other hand ordered the veal ossobuco with rainbow chard, which was just OK. The meat was lovely and tender, but it was served in a really salty and watery sauce (kind of like soy sauce), and the rainbow chard was also soaked to the point of having little texture.
It might have had something to do with the fact my order fell through the cracks somehow, and so the chefs were rushed to get my meal prepared when all of my friends already had their pizzas. What has made me give Pizza East 4 stars is that I have rarely seen such good service provided by the manager of non-posh restaurant.
When my friend notified the waitress of a her onion allergy, the manager (Jose) immediately came over to discuss her requirements in detail and took care to ensure it was correctly documented for the chefs. Moreover, when my meal failed to arrive along with my friends', Jose was quick to address the issue, apologise and offer my meal on the house (all without me having to complain first). When my friend's onion free pizza arrived, and my ossobuco finally arrived, Jose was over again both times to ensure we were happy with our meals. And finally, when it came to pay for our bill, he was over again, double checking that I hadn't been incorrectly charged for my ossobuco.
I am really impressed with Jose's conscientiousness; the genuine care and concern he has for his customers (and therefore passion for his job) is a great example of what more people in the service industry should be like.

The pizza meh at best and overpriced compared to other places like wells. The worst part: the staff really hate their life on Sunday mornings so you get an extra slice of attitude with your pizza.
D. G.
Best pizza in the neighborhood. Must try veal meatballs it's divine. Great service and well worth the visit.

Amazing taste service and flavour. The service was 10 out of 10 its so rare I normally don't leave reviews but these guys are amazing. Real Italian 🍕

I'm not gluten free, but one of our table was and there were NO gf options for pizzas, a few among the starters, but i was very surprised. Service was a bit slow, but otherwise lovely
C. W.
Not sure I get what all the fuss is about, it's certainly nice pizza, but did it blue my mind with a whole new pizza experience? No. Was it served from the hatch of a bank vault with all the tables stuck to the ceiling? No. It's a pizza restaurant in shoreditch.

I've been on pizza party there and it was awesome. I was on birthday party of my friend and they managed to create awesome atmosphere. Pizzas are very tasty which helps to keep up the good atmosphere.
