It's the best Italian restaurant I have tried. Really fresh food and very generous portions, as per Italian tradition of course! The staff is really nice and very helpful, from the waiters, bartenders and the Chefs, always ready to assist you. Price quality more than satisfactory !! Thanks, see you soon!

Went in just after 3pm so it was nice and quiet. Staff were really friendly, they had a nice conversation with us and made us feel welcome. The menu was fantastic, so much to choose from and you can see the open kitchen and the wonderful looking pizza oven. The portions were a very generous size, I took left overs home with me. The gelato selection is out of this world but it was just typical that the day we decided to visit was the day it was being cleaned so there wasn't any to try for me to review. But, they had flavours ranging from the standard neopolitan, chocolate and vanilla etc to flavours like banana, oreo cookie, peanut butter, hazelnut, white italian, toffee and passionfruit. Theres over 20 flavours on the menu. I also remember reading a raspberry sorbet on the menu. Apparently, it does get extremely busy on evenings and weekends and booking tables is highly recommended. But for a quick dinner before the rush, it was the perfect time to visit. I'll be visiting again soon.

Absolutely beautiful! 😍 we visited here whilst having a few days in London. There were 5 of us altogether. We booked online. It was simply the best food we have had out in a long time! Everything was full of flavour, the service was excellent. Our children loved the food, we did too! And the cocktails were also good. The staff looked after us really well. Great service, and great food at a very fair price. They have a lengthy menu and usually with quantity you tend to lose quality, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Both me and our friend loved the pizza and pasta that we ordered and the ice cream we were served was some of the best I've ever had. If I find myself coming back to London, I will most definitely be coming here again.

Finally i can leave a 5 star review. Food is nice as always, service improved greatly. The peppers coming with the grilled cheese are simply amazing. Pacvheri with porcini were also very pleasurables. Please, fix the extractor fans as one could smell the kitchen even when sitting outside, maybe the duct could go all the way up over the roofing. ;)

Good quality pizza, also as takeaway with fast service. There are plenty of outdoors tables overlooking the new Castle Square, which is quite nice during the good season. They have a wood-fires oven so the pozza tastes as good as it should.

What a lovely new restaurant to come to Elephant and Castle. If you're looking for fail safe Italian at good prices then this is a must. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks with different people and both times we thoroughly enjoyed. The portions are great and the menu has plenty to choose from, plus the terrace/balcony seating is pleasant and blankets are provided if you get a bit chilly!

Amazing authentic Italian food with warm service. We come here nearly every week. Highly recommend the Treccia di Bufala, Linguine alle vongole and the T-Bone steak (it's huge!). There's a good range of cocktails - and the Espresso Martini is one of the best I've had!

Food was good and service was also good. Dishes arrived pretty quickly after we ordered, which was appreciated. My gluten free pizza was tasty as were zucchini fries. We had gelato to finish, which was nice but not quite as good as that available down the road at Mercato Metropolitano. The only downside was the faff in paying at the end. The waitress couldn't seem to work out how to use her calculator to split the bill. We eventually had to sort it for her but it created an embarrassing and frustrating end to a nice meal.

Great place would recommend!! can't believe been bascially on my door step all this time, but took my mum for a birthday dinner, and glad I did. She enjoyed it so did I 😋 will defo be going back, the food was delicious and not overly priced, I had a cocktail which was good too,. The staff were so lovely and polite. I'm surprised such a place doesn't understand that people come to eat not dance. Scientifically proven to disturb digestion. Pappagone is the place where me and my boy Danilo always go. The reason why we are regular customers is rooted in the wonderful esperience we have anytime we come to this place. The location offers a beautiful huge open air terrace with amazing views of some buildings. The menu offers a variety of starters, mains, seconds, salads, desserts and drinks, which are basically what you need to have a complete meal. The price is very low comparing with the high quality of food they prepare: and this is of course one of their strenghts. The staff is amazingly funny, professional and always ready to deliver a good service even in busiest days. Massimo and Federica manage this place in the best way offering customers their best experience in one of the best restaurants in elephant and Castle.

Love this place. Really great value pasta and pizza, with a nice balcony that gets just enough sun. Lovely to come here at lunch and sit watching the activity in the square below with a glass of wine and a plate of pasta. I highly recommend the swordfish pasta.

It is an amazing place, with delicious food and very sterile. Everything was great until we had to pay. The bill came charging us for items we did not order. Clarified with the waitress, and it looked as it was a mistake which can happen. And then we paid and waiting for change which took forever to come. It looked like the waitress forgot 🤔🤔 . After 25 min finally we got the change. So guys check well the bill before u pay. Such a shame as everything else was excellent. Highly recommend it for food quality but not the best customer service though.

The food is top notch, with authentic pizzas and proper authentic pastas. Portions are very generous and prices are extremely honest. But the best thing is the staff: their warm welcome at the door, the positive attitude, the smile when they serve you... They really care that you're having a good time! Brought my husband back in September 2019 (To Finsbury Park) from a recommendation from my friend and loved it, came to the E&C branch for our wedding anniversary and it’s been THE BEST Italian experience we’ve had here in London. Sunday, shop is nearly empty. I was welcomed by the smell of burning fat. I had a pizza. By the time I finished there were maybe 20people. It took 20 minutes to get the bill and i had to dial the number of the restaurant to get attention, as no waiter bothered to come and ask if I was ready to leave. The food is still good, the service is below standards and way below The original Pappagone.

The foccacina and bruschetta are so good! The tomatoe is so fresh, the mozeralla very mozerallay, the bread is fresh and nicely toasted. Very good selection of authentic pizzas and pasta and other dishes. Don't forget to try their desserts too, a simply pistachio gelato is also very delicious.

I cooked pasta a lot so I am very peaky when I ordered pasta in restaurant as I usually am disappointed. Well trust me, you won’t be if you come to Pappagone. The pasta are al dente and the carbonara is following the real recipe (no cream just pecorino, yolk and pancetta). My friend ordered a pizza and he was pleased as well. Recommended if you are craving for good Italian pasta!
