Reviews of Rocca

Lovely little restaurant in the centre of South Kensington! I come here very often as this is my mums favourite restaurant, we love to celebrate her birthday here! The staff are always kind and helpful. The food is prepared perfectly and on time, this restaurant is such a gem! The atmosphere is unique and you’ll never find an Italian restaurant like this one, by far the best pizza in London!!
C. B.
The best place to go and eat for an authentic Italian meal in South Kensington by far. We arrived in the early evening as a walk on and were greeted by a man who gave us a menu and seated us. We were then seen to by a friendly lady with black hair, who was knowledge about all the items in the menu. We started off with mixed bread and oils to start the meal. A variety of different types of bread were provided with oils, which they left with us, in case we need more. For our mains we opted for the cinque formaggi pizza and spaghetti carbanara. The pizza tasted great with distinctive tasting five cheeses, every mouthful tasted different. I was told that the carbanara was excellent and one of the best that they had tasted.
The environment was very relaxed and had a laid back Mediterranean feel about it. We did not feel rushed to leave and the lady who was severing is throughout the night was attentive. The meal was exceedingly good value for money, even more so that we were in South Kensington. I would definitely recommend Rocca as a place to go to.

Proper Italian delicious food, very fresh ingredients, the fish and the seafood linguine were perfect 🤩
Price/quality excised expectations!
Staff 👏🏼👏🏼
100% satisfied

This is a gem of a restaurant been a couple of times and I am delighted even more every time. Amazing food for amazing prices some things are cheaper than in chains like pizza express. The staff are extremely nice and cater to your needs.
M.
Very good customer service, both friendly and quick! The food portions are well sized and well priced for their taste :D I had the Linguine al Scoglio, it was very good! And also shared the lemon cheesecake with my friend which was equally delicious. Would definitely recommend, as the decoration and atmosphere of the restaurant is so lovely and unique.
S. S.
Outstanding pasta! My son and I really enjoyed our meals and the staff were so friendly and really helped me with my young boy. Next time I'm in London I will visit again for sure
O. K.
Authentic Italian cuisine, all dishes were great; risotto, pasta, linguine and pizza; which tasted superb
M. C.
Rather disappointing pizza, given the many great reviews of this place. The service here was good, and the prices are reasonable, but the dry and cardboard like pizza left a lot to be desired. Suboptimal to say the least.
R. P.
I love love love this restaurant. We came yesterday with my family. 8 of us. Pizza is the best! And service was amazing. Even with our little 4 kids under 6years of age. They were so good and patience. We always go hear after going to natural museum. A must try. Never fails

Went here tonight on date night and had a lovely time - delicious food, Seafood Linguine was on point and I hear the pizza was delicious .. really friendly staff, nice chilled jazz music, great night! You can tell they get a lot of regulars, always a good sign. Date was happy - Recommended :)

Had a good pizza but it has lost it’s shine since the golden years. Felt more like a local Italian social club than a restaurant (which is a good thing really) the food has lost a bit of focused and the interiors are quite outdated. Wish the owners would return it to the quality ITALIAN taste it was previously! good fun.
A. V.
Great experience overall, with some small improvements that could be made!
Service is welcoming and friendly, and you really get the Italian vibe of the waiters and all the staff. Joking around with the waiters is always fun and well received 😊
The food is delicious, speaking for the pasta more than the pizza (mostly order that whenever I go). The pasta is always well cooked, fresh, diverse, and well seasoned and balanced in its flavor profile. A case could be made for the mushroom risotto which isn't on par with the rest of the dishes and the mushroom flavor doesn't quite shine through. The pizzas, while tasty, could have a bit of a nicer crust and blisters on the dough. However they are very tasty nonetheless and you couldn't go wrong choosing them!
One last point to be made, the pasta portion sizes are significantly smaller than pizzas - which although standard for Italian restaurants, could be noted.

We visited last month to celebrate my brothers 27th birthday whilst staying in Kensington for 2 nights and we absolutely loved the place. The team including the owner were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had our puppy with us so we had to sit in the covered terrace area, however the heat lamps were so warm we felt we were in the main restaurant! The food was wonderful, the ambience was great and it was the perfect place for our celebration. Thanks so much and we’ll definitely recommend to our friends and be back soon ourselves!
P. K.
Good italian food. Good wine and service. Fair prices.
C. J.
Amazing food and wine with reasonable prices, service was impeccable despite it being a busy time. Great location too! Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back!
R. K.
Standard and competent Italian food. Absolutely fine but don't expect anything better than Bella Italia across the road. Service is nice at least

Hi this was the first time I visited Rocca and I must say I normally try steer away from Italian restaurants as im vegan so it’s hard to find a delicious meal amongst the pizza and pasta but I’m so pleasantly surprised by my visit to Rocca South Ken that i had to write a review. They surprisingly had vegan cheese but not only that (as I’ve had pizza with vegan cheese before) the pizza was just delicious! The veg was tasty and they had garlic oil which was so fresh and even though I asked this on demand it was so fast to arrive. The service was just excellent, our waiters were so friendly and accommodating and we were’nt easy as we had a young child who was having lots of fun running around and throwing water too. I even had bought my own cake that I made as it was my friends birthday and they made sure I was treated with the same courtesy as if I had bought from them, they offered me candles, plates and even sang the birthday song with me! My friends who aren’t vegan also enjoyed their pizza and pasta so much, even the young child companion who is so fussy with food and doesn’t eat much, loved his pasta and was lapping it up! Thank you Rocca and I hope to see you again soon!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants! Aborigine and tomato! 🦑 squid ink past and pizza. Price is ok 👌🏻 and reasonable. Do not miss to try squid ink pasta. If I remember correctly, they used to put crab instead of tuna. But tuna is also great! Oil and hint of spicy!
S. D.
We visited Rocca for our Wedding Anniversary for lunch before a concert at RAH. We always enjoy ourselves at Rocca, and this lunch with my Parents was fab. We stayed for a few hours and enjoyed our lunch and drinks immensely. Many Thanks as always for looking after us so well. !!
C. M.
Fantastic food and service, with delicious freshly made sauces and pastas. The value for money is the best I've had in London, and I will absolutely be returning here regularly. Highly recommend the linguine al pesto genovese and the risotto al funghi.
A. B.
The restaurant is specific italian. This being said the pizzas are different to the usual Italian pizzas I'm used to, they are Ligurian apparently. I enjoyed the food and dessert was wonderful. The staff were amazingly polite and friendly.
A. T.
Nice place to eat. Relaxed atmosphere, tasty food.
I had lasagna and a side salad. The lasagna was perfect, the salad was a bit tired (some soggy watercress and brown lettuce hidden under a pretty garnish).
Service was friendly and efficient.
Worth eating early to avoid a wait.
T. L.
Always yummy. Pizzas really tasty and the pastas are the real deal. Friendly staff and personal service. Amazing value for money given the area and snazzy interior. A favourite spot of ours.
E. L.
Decent food in a nice setting. I had the ravioli
A. E.
Nice place for a quick meal. Forgot to take a photo of my main meal
O. C.
One of my favourite Italian restaurants! Food is always super tasty and flavourful, reasonable priced (especially for south ken) and friendly staff. Both the pizzas and pastas are really good and I would recommend the calamari to start and the tiramisu to finish. For covid they also have plastic screens between tables for social distancing. Overall, always a really good meal and experience!
M. C.
This Italian restaurant was recommended by friends. We were not disappointed. Friendly, efficient, good service, super, tasty, fragrant food. Great decor. Good prices for London. Happily go again when in S. Kensington.
S.
What a gem! Friendly and fast service. Food was delicious! Calamari was the best I've ever had.
It has a loud, hectic vibe (we went on a Saturday for lunch) but its endearing and suits the place. Great place to go have some good food and conversation.
A.
I’ve tried the Linguine genovese (7.45 £). It is pasta with pesto sauces and nuts. The price is fair with the size of the pasta, you will feel full.. It was not that delicious to be honest.
y.
Delicious food and very friendly staff. Will be coming back again and definitely recommend!
G. H.
Lovely local pizza. Pretty good value given the area and was good service. Pizzas were really tasty
S. N.
This is one of my favourite, hearty Italian restaurants. The staff, the food and the ambience all get 5 stars. We are regulars. It is really very good value for money too.
D. B.
The staff were really friendly and the food was very authentic. Was also very reasonably priced with decent portion sizes - will absolutely visit again.
M. R.
Lovely place, good customer service. My pasta was too al dented and it was all together very plain dish. Tiramisu was great but again poor presentation.
W. T.
This place never seems to disappoint. Good service fantastic food at prices well below the average for around South Ken. The best Italian in the area I would say.
E. L.
A wonderful experience! Excellent food, lovely and warm service, a delightful atmosphere and priced really well. Our family of four loved it!
G. M. A.
While the rest of the marine are quite expensive, the pizza and pasta selection is actually quite reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants (and even the likes of pizza express!). Service was quick and the food was decent.
J. L.
Tasty food, good value, and they had space for us without a reservation (although we did get the last table). Would go again
S. G.
Great restaurant. Food is amazing, fresh and super tasty. The prices are very reasonable. Always a good choice.
B. T.
Excellent service and food and we thought on the whole it was good value for money.
F.
Loved the freshly made Margherita pizza. Prawn starter was delicious and flavourful. Good social distancing measures in place.
E. T.
Beautiful food. Sea bass and pizza were great. Highly recommend
J. H.
Organized a birthday dinner at Rocca last night for 10 people and everything was amazing, food and service was 10/10. We will definitely be back. Thank you Rocca!
M. M.
Friendly staff and good for families, great desert, pizza is good but not great, they need proper wood fired ovens
A. C. C.
Nice Italian food at reasonable prices. The Tiramisu was better than what I usually find in restaurants. Service was a bit too slow, but staff were nice.
M. D.
Good food. Excellent staff reasonably priced well worth a visit.
G. m.
On my second visit to this place I was really unpleasantly surprised by the price we paid for wine. We ordered a glass of wine (approx £5 on the menu) and then got asked if we want a large or small glass. We said large, and then when the bill came we realised that they had charged us double the price of what was on the menu ie almost £10!!! I felt a bit ripped off.. Otherwise food is good if you like pizza or pasta and the place is nicely set up.
F. C.
Excellent food and service. Very good value. Would recommend to anyone.
R. I.
Literally the best Italian in London. Amazing food, fab service, good vibe, great value. Grazie!
G. W.
Very nice restaurant. Everything tasted very authentic and very reasonably priced, 11 of us with mains and 8 desserts was around £150 including service. Tap water was offered without request and continually topped up throughout, giving excellent service. The cheese cake dessert was perhaps one of the groups less exciting, but here is a photo anyway.
S. J.
Excellent food, wonderful service. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you for a enjoyable evening.
r. z.
Food and service was great, our waiter was alway very helpful. I highly recommend this place.
A. C.
Hi! I don’t know how should I start! I know this place from more then 7 years ..IS THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN KENSINGTON! I have period when I was going for dinner there at list 3 times per week! Thanks guys!
J. J.
been here million times (as part of large Sunday church group), tried the entire menu, very nice staff
N. G.
BIAS ALERT: I love spaghetti bolognese and Rocca has the best bolognese I've had in London so far! In all seriousness though the atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the prices are spectacular. I would highly recommend the tiramisu as well!
Counting the days until I can have Italian again...
S. M.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and great prices 😃👍🏻 definitely recommend!
C. M.
Really decently priced Italian in South Kensington. The service is quick and friendly. The pizzas are a good size for value. I recommend the spicy sausage pizza. The burrata pizza is just a ball of burrata on top of a tomato dough - it was nice but lacked seasoning. Really recommend this spot.
A. K.
Pizza ok but pasta (linguini) stodgy - good pricing and pleasant service though
P. C.
Amazing as always. First time here since before the pandemic and it's just as good as ever. Fair price for the location and the food was quick and snappy. Reason for the lack of a 5th star was due to the pizza dough still not being as good as it was a few years ago when I first came. Too sourdoughy and mine was rushed and undercooked unfortunately. Still...all in all a good meal.
R. H.
Friendly staff but the carbonara had almost zero flavour and barely any meat.
H. C.
Staff were absolutely brilliant..Great fun and fast efficient service
V.
Pasta was not al dente, pizza is way better at Franco Manca
Α. Λ.
Amazing food and the service have to be the friendliest in the whole london !
K. (.
Delicious Italian Pizza! Good price for its location.
J.
Delicious pizzas and good wine. Sometimes service can be slow. Good value for money.
D. H.
Late night food after match at Stamford Bridge. Most Italian restaurants in the area are quite pricey compared to Rocco.
Quite a small menu but my son and I both enjoyed our meals and staff were friendly.
D. J. M. L.
Nice real Italian vibe. The Sicilian food is really good, the pasta is tasty and fresh! They have good wines and they can fit big groups
L. P.
Proper Italian food! Loved the pizza and the "galletto".
D.
Good friendly service, great food, great atmosphere and a very popular place. Highly recommended.
M. v. C.
Great food, great service. Very friendly staff.
Z. M.
Really lovely restaurant. About half full with customers including families & couples. Delicious food for the price, attentive and friendly staff, cooked spaghetti vongole for me even though it wasn’t on the menu and didn’t over charge for it either. Decent wine list to cater for all tastes. I would definitely recommend!
M. S.
Very tasty food. Good value for money
M. C.
A great Italian. Always a broad menu and drink selection v good.
j. d.
It is an amazing restaurant and the service is great. There is a young man working in the restaurant from Greece. it's very good
M. K.
Lasagne was very yummy but abit too small for us and The pizza was yummy too. Must be carful the chilli oil it is super hot.
M. B.
Lovely food and excellent staff! The restaurant we had originally booked for our meal had some electricity issues at the time so we just stumbled on this place very last minute on a Saturday evening. The staff found a table for us, took our order immediately and we had our food within 20-30 minutes of sitting down. The pasta was amazing and very fairly priced. The restaurant itself was busy, but not super loud so great for a date or if you want to catch up with friends and family.
Overall, great experience and I would totally recommend!
K. P.
Great food, great service and what at atmosphere
A. B.
Friends and I used to frequent here during our study abroad experience in London, and still to this day talk about Rocca. What we would do to go back! They have the best food, especially their pizza, and the atmosphere you just can't beat.
P. T.
Great pizza and beer, well priced too.
J. B. B.
Great people and great food definitely recommend it!!
M. F.
Great food, reasonable service. Would really go back when around in town
D. L. R.
The staff was attentive and the food was well priced the pasta and pizza were really good
C. M.
Good service, good food, reasonable price, great ambience
A. S.
Lovely intimate restaurant, good quality food for decent price.
C. B.
These guys work so hard! Quick to seat you, delicious food, vibrant laid back atmosphere and the bill is always a delight.
D. W.
Popped in for lunch and it was delicious. Pizza and risotto :)
A. B.
Muscles and Mozzarella starter nice but mains / pizza average
S. M.
Very nice lovely . Pasta was very tasty and pizza lovely. Thank you
M. K.
I found this place as recommendation from Google as it right it would match my preferences. Honestly, it was right. The food in Rocca is tasty and doesn't feel heavy. The prices are also very nice compared to the competition.
When I went there, they were very busy and asked us to wait 10 minutes so we could get a table, I was already aware of it as I called them before going there. The waiting seats were in front of old fireplace that had been modified and looked very nice.
Within 6 minutes we got our table. The staff members were very polite even whilst very busy. Something that gives thirds place an edge compared to others.
In overall, I would definitely recommend this place for Italian food lovers who are in the area.
C. T.
Absolutely perfect! The food is delicious with good prices! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff is welcoming! You can go with your partner or with friends!
They dont charge 'service charge' and the waitress didn't want to take the tips that we gave to her!
Amazing Dinner!
We will certainly come back!!!
S. P. L.
Love this little restaurant. Intimate nice atmosphere. Delicious simple food. Great value for money and Mediterranean salads are particularly colourful and fresh. Been there twice and love the food. This is the kind of restaurant you can go again and again after a long day's work to help you wind down. Seafood dishes are my favourites.
T. K.
Went here on Christmas Eve, so they may not have been operating on full steam. Arancini was extremely good, service was good too. However, their lasagna and signature pizza were just average. And the lasagna had an odd, maybe burnt, after taste. Would like to try it again on a normal day though.
M. B.
Spacious and airy, with a very 'Italian Family feel'.
We had an early pre Prom supper, as we arrived the room was almost empty, but it filled fast. It seems the advice from others to book in advance is wise.
Service was good, and quick food delicious, fresh and very authentic.
The menu is quite short, but what they do, is done well. Good, affordable wine list too.
In this area there is no shortage of places to eat, eat well and eat Italian. Rocca stands out from the crowd.
C.
The food is ok, nothing exceptional - there are far better Italian places in the area.
A. Z.
Highly recommend this place. When we arrived we were told that we could wat outside with no time limit, or inside but leave by 7:30. Fair enough; it was a Thursday with a big group expected.
The food was extremely tasty and tasted very fresh. There was also lots of choice. I had pasta with rabbit and it was delicious. The price? Under 10 pounds! Really great value for money. My friends had pizza and the crust was incredible; under 10 pounds each too. A small complaint would be that I'd like the portion sizes to be slightly larger but I can't moan at that price.
Staff were very friendly too, if a bit frantic. Nice interior with lots of seating and in a convenient location. I'd say it was suitable for tourists, families, and dates alike! The toilet could be cleaner though but this is a minor flaw.
Overall, definitely check this out if you're in the area.
D. M.
Lovely busy Italian, great service and food
N. O.
Friendly staff... Good space for small to larger groups
F. M.
Really good Spaghetti Putanesca. It's not on the menu but they can cook it for you! Wines and calamari are really tasty as well. Been going here for about 6 years.
A. M.
One of the best Italian restaurant in London. I think the sourdough pizza is better then Pilgrims or Franco Manca. The service is very good as well, the owner gets involved and it's an inspiration for the employes. Always a pleasure coming back every time. Keep it up guys!!!
A. M.
If you are looking for a typical Italian restaurant then this place fits the bill. Everything on the menu are tried and tested great Italian dishes, reasonably prices as well. I went in a group of 10 people, service was friendly and quick. The Pizza I had was great. One of the starters never got delivered due to shortages, but the staff was very apologetic and I think we all left happy and full
D. B.
I was happy to find Rocca open at a time when most other restaurants were closed after a movie at the cine lumiere nearby. The menu is quite rich and the price is unusually low. The quality of the dishes is pretty good, which makes it good value for money. Friendly service as well.
S. A.
Amazing restaurant with a friendly staff.
z. g.
Very tasty pizza, especially for the prices. They have a very good ratio of toppings to crust. My friends have been very happy with the pasta here too but I can't help but keep ordering their mushroom pizza! Good for beer or wine too. A much cosier place to stay and chat and drink with friends than other local pizzerias.
M. B.
Delicious pizza at very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.
J. S.
Excellent food at a very reasonable price and great service. All of the dishes that we ordered were very good. The sorbet at the end was the best that I have had.
P. P.
Well sized and located Italian styled restaurant. Caters well for large groups and for groups with kids. The menu is small but sometimes that is better for a busy restaurant that is so near to the South Kensington museums. Overall had a pleasant experience with a group of friends and will return for sure.
T. M.
Great value quality Italian food in South Kensington. Don't know how they do it for the price in this upmarket area. We had arancini, calamari, bruschetta and smoked buratta for starters, all beautifully freshly cooked and generous helpings. My main was a lovely mutton stew served on perfectly al dente tagliatelle. Others had good Margherita pizzas and excellent fish risottos with plenty of clams, mussels and squid. All washed down with a lovely robust Pugliese red. Good service and nice atmosphere too. I have been many times and never disappointed. They have many standard Italian dishes but always have something unusual and tasty to try.
H. Z.
The best thing about this restaurant is its value for money - a pizza main and Sprite cost just under £10.50!
The staff here are nice, but do seem to rush around looking stressed. We were seated quickly although it was slightly tight to find space on a Thursday evening with 3 people. I think it was lovely that we were offered tap water with our drinks instead of having to ask ourselves.
I ordered the Regina pizza - ham, olive and mushroom. It was far better, and cheaper, than Pizza Express's equivalent, 'La Reine'. Yes, it was a bit too salty, but still tasty, and the dough was good. A good size, too.
My brother got the rabbit pasta and that also tasted good, but he said he would have liked slightly more.
Overall, will go again if I'm in the area.
R. S.
Generous portions of modestly priced authentic Italian cuisine! The staff looked like they enjoyed themselves, and were very friendly. But the food was the best part, reminded us of our travels
S. B. -. W.
Staying at the Kensington hotel over the summer and wanted a simple Resturant that wouldn’t break the bank. What an amazing Resturant! Packed out fast so much be known as being good! Great menu think we paid £80 for 4 of us with deserts and a bottle of wine. Pastas were amazing. Fresh baked pizzas. I really love this place and I will be back!
C. M.
Lovely, family atmosphere. Has a down-to-earth feel and you always know it will be a great meal, friendly service and of course, good, authentic food. It’s an easy, safe choice and we’re here regularly!
J. T.
A very friendly authentic Italianatmosphere and tasty food. Presentation of the food was a bit lackluster and the leaf salad was a bit old but for the relatively cheap London price, you couldn't ask for much more.
K. S.
Good food, great service, reasonable prices, plenty of space
P. S.
Italian food at it's best I guess. Really enjoyed mine, especially the Avocado Starter, which I could have eaten again for the main! Very friendly and helpful staff. It can seem to get very busy (it was a Saturday evening) so it may be worth booking in advance.
G. F.
Excellent calamari starter but the quality of the food went downhill from there. The pasta with mascarpone and rabbit was poorly blended and tasted very acidic, and much blander than last time I tried it. The cheesecake was was too sweet and bland. Good service, it just seems they changed recipes or chef recently!
T. A.
The prices are very reasonable, we expected to pay more. The food was amazing and prepared well (lasagne is a little small) but makes up for it in taste. The staff we very attentive and extremely polite despite the fact they seemed to be pressure.
Would definitely go again especially as to top it off the female staff were ridiculously attractive... argh so beautiful.
Worth a go!!
D. M.
Good menu, excellent food. Not keen on there being bottles of wine on table upon arrival, especially when it was one of, if not the most, expensive wines on the wine list. This always seems sneeky to me. Staff friendly, service quite slow. Would def return.
D.
Brilliant Italian restaurant, very reasonable
M. M.
Service super sharp and polite, let down by some very average food. Calamari was really bad, worse than what you’d get in a pub. Pizza was like a frozen pizza put in a pizza oven, crispy on the outside and watery on the inside. Ravioli was no better. In fairness prices are reasonable so gave 3*
R. F.
Was a huge fan... I discovered this little restaurant accidentally almost three years ago. The food is nice and the service is great. Far, far superior than franchise Italian restaurants on the same price band (such as Carluccio's and the like). Unfortunately, as a frequent diner in this restaurant, it is quite easy to notice when something changes. I've seen the prices go up quite a bit -something that can be said of pretty much every other restaurant (particularly in this area). That would not be so annoying, if it wasn't for the fact that the last times that I have been there, the dishes have been noticeably reduced in size and I dare to say, in the quality of ingredients. This restaurant is close to my office, so it has been my choice of dinner in numerous occasions, so this comment is not based on two or three visits but on an overall sensation I have had in, say, 10 months. As such, I have stopped going and looking for alternatives elsewhere. Still, I would never go back to franchise Italian restaurants over this one, so I recommend you to go and judge yourselves. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine costs about £60 or less.
E. C.
My favourite Italian in the area. The smell of fresh tomato sauce and pizza is incredible as you enter. There is wide selection of starters- the calamari and meat sharing board are my favourite, but save room for pizza as they are big! Try the black pudding pizza for something a bit different. Service is excellent and surprisingly quick for somewhere that is always packed. Recommended to book.
A. C.
Simple, tasty menu and affordable prices. Standard and well done Italian fare
Went on a Tuesday night and it got very busy. Would recommend booking in advance.
A. A. (.
The pizza was juicy with mozzarella, but remained crispy with a perfectly cooked base. We also had some sort of salad (well she did, because; woman, but I had a peck too and the light dressing was good), and some sort of vegetable dish. All tasty!
Service was excellent. Didn't have to wait long for anything, but it wasn't one of those places where they're constantly over your shoulder either.
At the end of the night, I was pleased to find it all came up to about £23. Even considering the fact that we don't drink alcohol, that's pretty good!
A. S.
Visited multiple times as a local worker to the area. Always been a top meal at very reasonable prices for South Kensington. Staff have always been polite and quick service whether it's been a large booked table or last minute Friday night for 2.

Wonderful food, brilliant staff, outstanding atmosphere, great price, what more could you want. 😁
H. D.
Had a wonderful evening here with my family. Food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. The staff deserve high praise, both front and back of house! The prices were extremely reasonable and I think we will be back for another meal.
I. a. R.
Great Italian, fabulous food service and location. Great value and friendly staff. The pizzas especially the fungi is amazing, one of my favourite pizzas anywhere. The pastas are great too!
A. S.
Great ingredients, simple food, cooked well. Best pizza dough in a very long time. Friendly efficient service too.
S. O.
Disappointed in our meal here. Nice atmosphere, good service, decent pasta, great wine, great prices, but....
The pizza was awful- the crust was like cardboard, soggy cardboard! Not fresh & crisp at all. Really surprised us.
M. C.
Delicious food - I had the calamari, the seafood pasta and the tiramisu. We didn't make a booking so had to sit on the patio thingy but the staff tried their best to make sure we weren't freezing. Great fun and not the most expensive either.
I. L.
I’m rating this restaurant 5 starts because it’s got the best value for money you can find anywhere in South Kensington. Excellent food, excellent service and more than reasonable prices. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a restaurant with good atmosphere with great food.
A. B.
Very well priced. Friendly staff. Great wine selection. Convenient location. Food was delicious! Grilled prawns were cooked well. Pasta Carbonara was tasty, but would have preferred the pasta be more al dente. Overall a good lunch & would definitely recommend.
D. S.
Great prices, very good sourdough pizzas with a generous portion of toppings starting at only £5.60. A full bottle of decent wine starts from £20. This place is very, very busy. I think it has the same owner as Franco Manca a few doors down, but I prefer Rocca.
F. D.
Amazing service, it delights me every time. The food is delicious (don't forget to try the mouth-watering arancini) and really well priced, but it's the exquisite service by a charming team, and the positive environment what sets Rocca apart from other restaurants in the area. It's now one of my go-to places around South Ken!
G. B.
Intrusive service. Good pizzas and the carb pasta was al dente but the sauce was watery. The rose wine was not chilled enough and the waiter had no knowledge of the product. Definitely worth to go for a pizza and a glass of wine if you are hungry but not memorable.
R. L.
Really delicious food that's authentically Italian. I was pleasantly surprised at how this wasn't expensive considering its in a tourist area and this is London!
Lovely service, incredibly speedy service! Delicious pastas and pizza.
S.
Lovely place. Good quality food, great service, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere - always busy but never feels rushed. Great options for veggies / pescetarians!
A.
Busy and not very intimate but I didn't mind that so much. Very good Lasagne, prepared and presented. Tiramisu is not the best one I had but for London is in my top 5. Prices very competitive for (Central) London.
The only cons I would point is that not all staff are knowledgeable about food they offer and toilets are bellow any standard.
E. B.
I went there wanting a vegan pizza which wasn't available on the menu and they made me one!! Best vegan pizza I've had! Very friendly and attentive service. Lovely atmosphere. Would go again. Very reasonably priced.
J. S.
Probably the only moderately priced restaurant in South Ken but this is a little gem. The standard pizza/pasta delivers just as you'd expect. Inside the seating provides plenty of tables for couples - perfect if you're needing to bring a cheap date. The staff are friendly but could be a bit more attentive.
M. T.
We had the Paparelle and it was not that great. We did make the effort to eat it though. At the end the waiter asked if we liked it or not. We said we didn't like it that much and the manager sarcastically said "did you understand that in the end right?" Without really taking us seriously. I explained that we weren't asking for refund we only gave feedback since we were asked to. I explained that we prefer to give the feedback in person instead of writing this to TripAdvisor. The "manager" then said you can write whatever you want this is not my restaurant.
W. R.
Delicious italian food at a great price point
R. S.
Always busy and buzzy, you will get great Italian fare here with good wine. Food is good but you come here for the frenetic atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, a gasp between shopping nearby.
T. N.
Well, I can't say that my pasta was the best I've eaten, it was ok though, the menu has a lot of choices so maybe the next time I may try something else, the service was good and friendly and very helpful for us to make our mind, there is plenty of room in the restaurant so you won't have any trouble finding a table
H. P. N.
We were in the area with my friends and we were looking for something tasty, quick and affordable. This place was the perfect choice!
Although it was a Friday night and we did not have a table reservation, the staff was very accomodating and they seated us fairly quickly. The place is very vibrant and the smell of the food made us even hungrier and more excited about the dishes we ordered.
My friends ordered pizzas (Regina and Cinque Formaggi) which came out very quickly and they were very satisfied with them. I ordered lasagna, but unfortunately it did not turn out to be what I expected. They served me what looked like a puddle of cheese (with some meat in it, but definitely no sheets of pasta). Although I am not Italian, I was pretty convinced this is not what lasagna should look like... The waitress quickly agreed to return the dish and I ordered the parpadelle instead with rabbit ragu and mascarpone. It was delicious.
Overall, the service is good and the food is very enjoyable. Not sure what happened with the lasagna. We will definitely come back, but would definitely recommend to book!
D. M.
Nice. Looks good great vibe. And chocolate cake. Simple.
D. W.
I had dinner there with a friend and we both truly liked it! The food was so delicious and really affordable. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is super friendly and courteous!
I highly recommend this place! :)
T. G.
Excellent food and service.
s. B.
Delicious food and quick service!
Bonus: Gluten free pizza base is available! It should be mentioned, that the pizza is baked in the same oven as the regular pizza so cross contamination is possible
K.
An unexpected find with a relaxed atmosphere and great food
M. H.
Popped in without a reservation. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered pizzas they were delicious. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
R. S.
Brilliant, they were packed, lucky to get in quick and got efficient service, drinks, beautifull food . Very clean. Reasonably priced. Every one looked very happy with their meal
P. S.
Nice upmarket Italian restaurant. Prices are reasonable and service was quick and pain free. Menu doesn't have a huge variety but what's there was tasty
j. m.
Was full up however they said if we waited (found us a seat) would fit us in. had a nice seat. Was helpful in looking for something I had lost. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Could not fault it.:-)
M. S.
The BEST tiramisu I've ever had in my life! The pizzas and pastas are amazing too. This place made me fall in love with real italian food!
A. S.
Excellent food and very good value. No pushy staff even though we spent more time talking than eating. Book first though.
A. K.
Great Italian pizza and prices
P. S.
Had a delicious dinner. Very good spaghetti and eccellent lamb with mashed potatoes. Very nice service, really friendly. I dined alone and they really took well care of me.
L.
Delicious food every time, and friendly staff.
D. S.
Very nice Italian food, but the portions were a little small. The service was good. Stingy with the water like most London restaurants...
S. M.
Actually run and staffed by Italians, Rocca is one of those secret go-to places to keep on the books that offers great food at reasonable prices. Often busy but never have to wait very long for a table.
C. N.
Good Italian restaurant. Menu diverse without being too big and food all nicely prepared. Wine menu is balanced and good value. Great place for business lunch or a romantic evening
R. L.
My wife poured spicy oil all over my food out of the evilness of her heart. I still enjoyed it and the service was great. Yhe meal for two cost us 40 pounds(with wine). I am planning my revenge.
J.
Well made pasta and pizza dished served in a relaxing environment. Good service by young, intelligent staff. Good wine. All in all a most enjoyable eatery.
J. P.
Fantastic, authentic Italian food at a great price. My girlfriend and I enjoyed a bottle of montepulciano d'abruzzo, two main courses and olives for under £40. Lovely place, we'll be returning soon.
s. l.
What an amazing restaurant! Worth every penny, it's also reasonably priced. Even the outside of the dish is mouth watering. Best pasta I ever had.
M. F.
Amazing restaurant. Quality tasty food with very very modest prices. My go to restaurant in South ken area. The restaurant has been there for years so it is frequented by visitors and locals alike.
D. d. l. F.
Nice food and service. Great lasagna. Good calamari and octopus. Desserts not impressive. Highly recommended.
P. R.
I chose to take my girlfriend here for her birthday because she loves good wine and pizza. She received that and so much more. We had a minor question about an appetizer, and instead of questioning us about it- he promptly took it off the bill, apologised for any inconvenience, then sent us complimentary limoncello. In addition, he organized the entire restaurant and staff to sing her happy birthday with a dessert compliments of the restaurant. We will return multiple times solely on the strength and graciousness of Alessio. He is the model for customer service, class, and graciousness. This restaurant benefits tremendously from his character and customer service.
S. A.
My favourite Italian restaurant in London. The staff is friendly and the management team is amazing. Best tiramisu i've ever had -that dessert over there is a must try for anyone!
J. D.
Very good and authentic Italian restaurant. If only they could slightly increase their portion sizes- on pasta at least.
J. H.
One of the best Italian meals I've ever had! Service was terrific and the price was very reasonable too.
A. B.
I had a pizza here and it was ok! My colleagues had their pasta dishes and those didn’t look great at all. So if you were to go stick to the pizza.
J. W.
On a visit to the area popped into here, great ambiance, excellent staff. Had for the first time in a long time at an Italian a traditional lasagne, it was excellent, cant fault and will come back to Kensington just for that.
J. B.
Simply brilliant. Intimate, not pretentious, good location, great service, lovely food.. perfect. I have been several times both in the evenings and al fresco at lunch!
K. A. K.
Great burratta and pepperoni pizza
S. L.
Hidden gem in South Kensington - much more spacious than you think it really is. Good food and nice, friendly staff. We recommend the fungi pizza made extra special if you request extra chilli and garlic.
A. K.
Ambience is warm and inviting; the bustle of energy palpable. However, food wasn't to my taste and the service left a lot to be desired.
If you're after pizza, don't look farther than Franco Manca.
A. S. R.
Excellent! Delicious food at an amazing price. A very elegant atmosphere while still being laid back.
E. H.
Simply the best Italian restaurant in West London. The food is sublime and well priced too. It's often busy so book ahead or avoid major mealtimes.
W. K.
Excellent Italian food. Very nice environment, friendly staff. Food all around tasty and satisfying. Their Tiramisu is one of the best I have had in a long time.
S. B.
Really impressed at quality, service and reasonable value for London. Food nice, authentic and Italian and not boring. The cesanese red wine was excellent. Thanks!
R. S.
Really appreciate how flexible they were with the menu. They adapted a pasta dish with risotto and swapped out eggplant for mushrooms. Delicious.
A. W.
Truly authentic beautifully simple and very tasty Italian! Carbonara is best one outside Italy and to die for. Pizza dough beautifully light and flavoursome. Chilli oil - fab! AND AMAZING VALUE.
M. G.
If your looking for some classic & delicious Italian food this is the place. Appears very busy most nights but we only waited about 10mins for a table (Tuesday night). Very efficient and delightful staff. Would come back next time Im in London.
M. (.
Pleasant experience, varying qualities of food though. Had the risotto and it was a bit meh. Reasonably cheap, though. Also conveniently near tourist landmarks, and it's not another chain.
D. C.
Popped in on a whim after a morning at the NHM. Absolutely lovely food, great vibe, just the right level of attention and fantastic value for money. Just need to find an excuse to come back. Thank you!
S. F.
Good food. Carbonara seemed pretty authentic and was tasty as well. Large restaurant with many covers so service can be a bit spotty.
S. L.
After a long day of enjoying London this restaurant was a simple but good choice. Authentic and non-expensive Italian in London. Decent portion size.
R. O.
Used to love this place. However they have gone down with service and taste. The rabbit ragu parpadelle was tasteless and very dull. The grilled fish was also poor in taste and overdone with lots of bones.
S. D. P.
Very good Italian food. Great atmosphere and nice people! Fair price too.
D. T.
Just fab food, service and value. Best pizza I have had in years! Great atmosphere as well.
A. A.
Loved it. Attentive staff and great food. Chatted with our waiter about all things Italy. We will be back!
N. A.
Food is average and for a London price it is okay . Had 2 types of pasta dishes 5 each. Starter omg stop no thanks
C. C.
Good Italian food at a decently fair price. But can be a bit loud sometimes. Highly recommended and will always visit the place again.
M. P.
Personnel was just amazing. Not to mention the fact that carbonara, tiramisu and panacotta were the best we have ever had in our lives, absolutely italian-authentic
R. B.
This is my favourite place to eat in South Kensington - I can't recommend it highly enough.
The food is excellent value - especially for South Kensington - it's a perfect place for any occasion, a date, graduation dinner or a casual saturday visiting the museums.
For starter I recommend the Calamari and my Pizza recommendation is the Pizza Iberica.
Have been here many times and look forward to the next time I am able to go.
R. S.
Superb food, excellent service
T. H.
Great Italian food with amazing service. You really feel welcomed here when you arrive. Perhaps the best restaurant I ate at during my trip to London.
T. C.
Tasty Italian food at a fair price. The staff are great, children are welcome. Recommend: Burratina (starter)
J. B.
Lovely food for a cheap price, and great customer service! Our server Marco went above and beyond to make it an exceptional meal.
B. J.
The best pizza what i ever eat. But the best from the pizza is the dough it is so soft. For the desert a recomendt a home made tiramisu. Beautiful place and nice service👌🏻
N. H.
An absolute favorite of ours. Usually stop in Everytime we visit London. Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Good for later night food!

J. C.
Never disappoints! Great service and delicious food. Always a first choice when I'm in the area.
S. A.
Good food, good price. The pizza is great, and the place is big so you'll probably get a table without a reservation.
D. B.
Excellent, friendly service coupled with good food & very reasonable prices for the South Kensington area made this a great place for my party of 3. Would definitely visit again.
D. D.
If you want to eat fresh pasta, fresh pizza doughs and homemade desserts this is your restaurant.
R. L.
Food was seriously fantastic, and the price was just as good. The wine was great as well, highly recommended!
A. B.
Great Mussels and a very good pizza.
J. L.
Came here on our first night in London and it did not disappoint. Had the arancini, the caprese, and the buttanesca alla pescatora. All were seasoned perfectly, Arancini was crispy, the Caprese was fresh, and the pasta was briny with a hint of chili. A great meal all around!
J. U.
Decent italian with nice service and a nice menu. The food was a slight disappointmet though, expected more taste.
C. K.
Great food at a great price for somewhere in South Ken. Atmosphere is always good and the staff are super friendly. Always busy so there might be a wait for a table in the evening.
a. a.
Very rich ingredients... very good dough ... just ask the waiter for the way you Like the crust ... macaroni choices are very good too... Coked aldenti... I recommend the restaurant.
R. R.
Fabulous value for such a location. Food was lovely with the distinct exception of the cheese platter. Friendly relaxed atmosphere and service.

Very buzzy and very busy at lunchtime So many people can't be wrong. Very good value for money; tasty food and charming service
M. G.
Great atmosphere and good food. It was very busy, but managed to get a table without having pre-booked. Beer selection is very limited.
J. R.
Very reasonably priced. Had arancini (delicious), pizza (tasty) and orange tart caramel (delicious). Nice staff, nice place.
M. A. (.
Great vibe, service and food. Good value for money and above all probably the best tiramisu there is outside of Italy! Must try
D. S.
Great food (pizza, salads and desserts in particular), great service, very good prices. Would def go back
D. V.
Franco manca is my reference for pizza. I found Rocca's pizza more delicious and with similar price. Service was superb.
T. M.
Second time visiting. Staff are extremely polite and efficient, food is excellent but most importantly, it's cheap! Will return again.
L. P.
One of South Ken's best hidden gems. Lovely good and great service, perfect for a low-key delicious Italian meal and good value too
H. A.
Wonderful tasty food, attentive and friendly staff. Become my favourite Italian in the area.
S. R. d. B.

J. H.
No fuss great Italian cuisine while family friendly (got high chairs and baby changing table), friendly service and not far from the Natural History Museum, V&A, etc.
I recommend.
V. K.
The pizza dough was undercooked.
A. M.
Lovely Italian food, very nice service had a lovely meal not expensive as London prices go. Ended with a lovely taramasu 😀
D. B.
Service was good and food was well done ( apart from the calamari - minuscule portion and overcooked)
Really enjoyed the Sarda pizza and the Carbonara.
T. R. G.

Italians work there, Italians eat there. The food is good and reasonably priced (and I'm a student), but the italian presence in the restaurant is a bigger testament to its superb quality.
