Came here as round the corner from our hotel. The staff were very friendly, the food came quickly which was brilliant considering freshly made, and the passionfruit cheesecake was unbelievable. All this and a very fair price. It is very small and well run, and should we return to London, we will absolutely be returning here. 5++++++ stars!

I've been coming to this restaurant/bar for a long time. I've seen it change hands and at present it's a family run business serving handmade Pizzas, traditional Italian pastas, some English dishes and a lunch time buffet. The food is very good. I recommend the penny pollo pasta or any pizza. The staff are extremely polite, friendly and welcoming. The location has recently had some renovations so the complex is quite something to look at also. Great for lunch, laid back gatherings/functions or business meetings.

Went during a trip to comicon and had an extremely high quality meal for next to nothing price. The staff were very attentive and polite even when my friend accidentally thre his credit card at them. OK place to eat, definitely better than eating at the Travelodge. The starters were nice in taste, the sauce was very thick for a mussels dish but tasted very good the odd part was the sliced green chilli through it which doesn't seem very Italian but being Indian I greatly enjoyed. The mussels however seemed some what unloved most of them had broken shells. The main course was disappointing pretty much the same sauce but without the chilli seemed from the freezer and the pasta was over cooked. The tiramisu was dry lacking the boozy liquid that it was begging for

I spent almost every evening during the Euro Football here. Had a variety of different pizza's that were great and authentic tasting. Seafood pasta was my favourite with reasonable sized portions with flowing wine. The atmoshere is very Italian and homely. Its a little bit tucked away from the public view if searching for somewhere to eat but once you visit, you will let others know.

Just stumbled across Salento whilst waiting for my girlfriend who was using the gym nearby. What a great little place. Excellent food, service and all round atmosphere/ambience. A very traditional family run restaurant, not a bit of the generic look and feel that can be found all over London. Hope my gf is using this gym more frequently so I can gradually make my way through the menu! Cant wait to come back!!

Generally very good, tasty food that's made fresh, they have a good value buffet with a nice selection however it can get a bit boring. If you mention issues with the food they will take it seriously and appreciate feedback. I enjoy the breakfasts, salads, pizza and pasta but I don't like the jacket potatoes. The staff are really friendly and welcoming.

I come here occasionally after I drop my son off to school. Like time to myself and some nice food so I come here. Usually have their veggie breakfast which is a great price with a nice cuppacino . Tried salmon royal breakfast. Quick service, lovely staff, the Owner always greets you which is nice. Few food places round here but prefer this place. Reasonable prices and selection.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in London. A true hidden gem. Food is excellent and the staff are super professional and extremely friendly. I go in there with my family and friends and my little girl who is only 3 and a half. She can be quite a handful at times and yet they treat her like family! A superb surprise and delight of a restaurant. I was in this area for work last week and happened to pop in there by chance in the morning around 8am for a coffee. The manager (owner?) was extremely friendly and welcoming. The coffee was superb and it was "proper" coffee (unlike that commercial poor tasting stuff you get from the big commercial coffee chains). Pastries were good. Nice seating area and atmosphere. Perfect morning coffee experience, so I went back there for lunch as the manager/owner said that they did a lunchtime buffet. That suited me as well as I only had a 1 hour lunchtime. What a excellent lunch buffet - choice of hot / cold food, hot meats (the lamb strew was fantastic!), cold meats, salads, and everything was cooked superbly and full of flavour and really tasty. You can 'eat in' or get the buffet take away with you, which is perfect if you're limited for time or office based. As the breakfast and lunch had been so good, I popped in after work just to order an orange juice! Pleasantly surprised that there there was nothing from a bottle or carton, but that they freshly squeezed a load of really sweet tasting fresh oranges for you. Would love to come here for dinner. OVERALL 5/5 - excellent tasty food, friendly welcoming staff (particularly the manager), very nice ambience to the dining area. More than happy to come here again. One of the nicest all round restaurants I've been to for a while and it's not expensive either.

The place is in a new development area which is done to a good standard. They have a good happy happy on Friday 3-7pm and a big menu. The food is a more simple affair no ribeyes/scallop type dishes but nice meals at a good price. Excellent service from Frederico really made the evening a step above though. Will come back again!

Really nice looking restaurant but food does not live up to it im afraid. The lamb cutlets were mostly fat and I asked for medium rare but when I got them the fat was not rendered at all and was inedible. Also didnt taste any Italian herbs at all.The starters were ok, the fish cake and garlic bread. Tiramasu was good.

Excellent service during these unprecedented times as we all continue our daily lives under lock down. I ordered a pizza margherita and a carbonara, both of which tasted great and were safely delivered adhering to all social distancing measures. I actually received my food ahead of the estimated delivery time provided by Deliveroo - super impressed. Although I didn't use it today, I also noticed that there is also an option to order Italian groceries which is very useful! Looking forward to visiting in person and dining in when this is all over!

If you stay at the travel lodge at East India Quay check out this bar/restaurant. Its a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The food is amazing and you are well looked after by all the staff. Very good menu and prices are very reasonable. They also do breakfasts. Nothing is to much. Will definitely return when here again.

During our stay in London we always look for a local restaurant. The Salento was close to where we were staying, and after a short walk we entered and were shown a nice secluded table for two. It was hard to pick our meal as the menu had all our favourites. Our waitress was very patient & professional with us & looked after us both well during our meal. Salentu, Lu Sole, Lu male, Lu Iento - one of the greatest places to go with friends, family or even business wise. Great customer service, excellent food and boooy they serve good alcohol. Just one word to describe it : eccezionale! I took my parents for lunch in this lovely restaurant. It was my first time visiting and I thoroughly recommend. Service was friendly and informative. The dishes were made with quality ingredients. We all had a three course meal and all of us immensely enjoyed all our courses. Final note delicious Tiramisu.

Given that I usually avoid Italian restaurants when I am abroad, I came to this place because it was one of the few alternatives in the area and was well reviewed. I must say that it deserves the good reviews it has. The staff is entirely Italian and makes almost exclusive use of Italian products. The way they are cooked does not compromise with the local culture, a defect that normally almost all Italian restaurants abroad have. The staff is nice and the prices are in my opinion more than adequate. For about £ 22 I had a starter of fried calamari, orecchiette alla salentina, a tiramisu and a pint of beer. Fully satisfied. Premesso che di solito evito ristoranti italiani quando sono all'estero, sono venuto in questo locale perché era una delle poche alternative in zona ed era ben recensito. Devo dire che merita le buone recensioni che ha. Lo staff è interamente italiano che fa uso praticamente esclusivo di prodotti italiani. Il modo in cui sono cucinati non scende a compromessi con la cultura locale , vizio che normalmente quasi tutti i ristoranti italiani all'estero anno. Il personale è simpatico e i prezzi sono secondo me più che adeguati. Per circa £ 22 ho avuto un antipasto di calamari fritti, delle orecchiette alla salentina, un tiramisù e una pinta di birra. Pienamente soddisfatto. Lo consiglierò e ci ritornerò probabilmente.
