Reviews of San Carlo Cicchetti
I. V.
What an amazing restaurant! They had an issue with the gas the day we went there, but they were still able to cook a lot of the food on their menu. It was really melting in your mouth! I recommend them 100% and I will definitely go back!
U. V.
I have to start by saying the food was delicious and very filling and worth the high price. I also had a Vanilla Expresso drink which was very strong and you couldn’t taste the vanilla and the bar tender didn’t even know what was in the drink. My reason for rating this restaurant down was due to the service we arrived a few minutes late and they were alright about this. However after this my sister and I were the only 20 somethings in the place everyone else was older. We had dressed up as this is a classy place yet that didn’t seem to matter the servers seemed to look down on us - which is highly unprofessional and made me not want to return.
N. K.
We hadn't booked and they had some seats at the bar, but we found out they were having 'gas' problems and couldn't cook random items of the menus. I gave 3 stars as the communication of what was available was pretty poor as was the cold calamari and main dish of 3 ravioli, but the desert for 2 and the service at the bar redeemed itself somewhat.
P. L.
Very friendly staff but service bit slow, our pizzas was a bit dry round the edges but desserts was lovely. Our coffees to was very strong & couldn't taste the Bailey's. Watch out for the automatic service charge put on your bill.
Y. J.
The food was brilliant! Great place to go on a date. The food variety great. Highly recommended.
A. R.
My valentines there was amazing. Italian Tapas with the love of my life. Great food , amazing customer service and delicious wines .
W. J.
Unique dining experience with Italian food served 'Tapas' style enabling you to taste a variety of their dishes.
L. P.
Lovely resturant will be going there again next time I am in London. Great food good service and lovely atmosphere
A. J.
Nice experience. The decoration is really stylish and meals really delicious. The staff was nice, professional and really helpful. One star removed because I believe for the price you pay, the bathroom should be on point.
S. G.
This restaurant is worth the splurge! I shared two of the pasta dishes and two of the sides with my partner and it was all phenomenal. The staff are also extremely friendly and helpful, and they create a wonderful atmosphere as they all seem to get on really well. Between the limoncello and the staff speaking Italian occasionally it feels very Italian:) Also great cocktails and wide range of vegetarian and some vegan options 🌱
P. H.
Would have got a 5 if it wasn't for a few things, like the wait we experienced on arrival, even though we had booked for 6pm. The staff seemed flustered and didn't really know what was going on. A guy in front of us was booked for 6:30pm and got seated?? Yet we were left to stand by for door for 15 minutes, and the food was nice, a little pricey considering you're recommended to have around 3 plates each and I still left feeling hungry.
M. M.
I loved this restaurant. Came here for the first time with 2 friends for lunch and will definitely be back. I am a fussy eater but the tapas were delicious from the starters to the mains, I loved them all. Great wines too and reasonably priced for central London. Service was quick and efficient. Would give it 10stars if I could!
R. A.
Been here a couple of times. Absolutely love the food and service. Food is tapas style Italian cuisine. The dishes arrive as they are made. Portions are small to medium so you need 2-3 dishes per person. I personally love the ravioli and the truffle risotto. Pizzas are a decent size and can be a good filler. Prices are on the slightly higher side. The house wine is really nice.
C. M.
It's my favourite restaurant to eat in when I'm going to the theatre. The decor is fab, stylish and clean. Even though the staff are always rushed off their feet they are welcoming, helpful and professional.
The food is wonderful. Presentation is pretty. The portion size is perfect.
I introduce my friends to this restaurant, they have all agreed that it is worth a visit.
Remember to book to save disappointment.

Stumbled over this place today, very friendly staff, great choice of dishes & the decor is fab. We ordered 4 dishes between us and we were stuffed, nicely full. The dishes were fresh amd the service first class. Great night and great food - highly recommended! We will be back soon!
I. L.
Loved it we were so stuffed after our meal. The concept is like tapas but the dishes were more substantial and therefore great value for money. Our total bill was £120 including a bottle of wine, 7 dishes and service charge. Dishes we recommend are the short ribs and fish soup. Would skip the pasta and pizza and save room for dessert! The ice cream for two was indulgent and perfecto!
I. J.
We visited last night and just want to put a special mention for our waiter Lorenzo who covered our section.
He was attentive and very patient with a very difficult table who were sat near who didn't really understand the 'cicchetti' concept and occupied a large amount of his time.
We were impressed by his approach to this table and ensuring the rest of the tables in his section got excellent service.
M. M.
Very good!
We ate very well and the place is very nice. Moreover, it is not so expensive.
I highly recommend!
L. B.
Average. Nice ambience. But very flat flavours. Service was also achingly slow. Not really what you’d expect from a restaurant that calls itself Italian. Spend your money elsewhere.
M.
Nice restaurant, good food, beautiful interior. Plates are small size so u need to order at least 2 to 3 plates per person to share. In general food was good.
N. P.
Decent food-its more of a tapas style restaurant, so food comes out whenever it's ready and the portions are a little smaller than standard which was fine with us.
I'm not one to add extra salt to my food but everything needed a good sprinkle of salt for the flavours to come through.
The service was a let down. Once the food is served its really hard to get a staff members attention, at some points it felt like we were purposely ignored as we tried to flag down a staff member but they would walk past us. After our table was cleared it took a while to get someone's attention for the dessert menu and it took another 20 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted anything.
At this point I just wanted to pay and leave.
R. O.
Overall I won't return. I echo alot of other reviews here the food was very overpriced for what it is. The food was mainly okay. The carbonara and arrinchini were cold and unpleasant to eat. The wine was delightful and the servers were very pleasent.
P. S.
It sounded so positive and different, but the reality for me was that it's obvious I prefer your standard Italian. The tapas style just didn't work for me, too quickly served and no logical order. We also had a bit of a hiccup with our water and wine order that just left you thinking whether this is indeed a premium restaurant or just one pretending to be by charging inflated prices and offering second class service. Don't get me wrong, it was packed so must be doing something right, but just not for me. Sorry.
C.
Thank you so much Camilo for the wonderful hospitality!
My friends and I felt super welcome and the food was great!
Thanks again Camilo! :)
J. A.
First time eating ‘cicchetti’ & once I got my head around it (being Italian ‘tapas’) I loved it. The food was gorgeous & portions were a decent size to share. The carbonara is amazing & the small pizzas were cooked & hot when they arrived at the table. I would highly recommend it.
L. C.
Popped in for a drink at the bar, a very buzzy, busy atmosphere. We drank a Mojito, white wine and red wine, great selection. Can't vouch for the food but it looked delicious ! A special mention to the young lad behind the bar, he literally did not stop, he worked so hard and was so professional. I hope the management appreciate his hard work ethic and manage to keep hold of him ! Next time we will be back for food.
M. S.
Gorgeous food - the truffle ravioli was to die for!
Was recommended by a friend who had raved about the ravioli and was not wrong!
I had a side dish and their cocktail which was very good as well! Hoping to try more of their menu when I go there next time!
A. H.
Really enjoyed our evening as a whole, pleasant atmosphere with a buzz and nice staff.
Highly disappointed by the plant based menu, there was hardly any choice and what there was was overpriced in my opinion. £8.20 for two artichokes cut in half, £10.85 for spaghetti in tomato sauce when carbonara was £9.85, for example, tasty though they were!
H. L.
Lovely place with welcoming staff! Just bare in mind that the portion sizes are very small with high prices so for two people you will be spending at least 50£ (not including the drinks).
V. K.
Wonderful restaurant. Great service. Fabulous food. Just didn't have time for a dessert.
B. A.
This is definitely one of the nicest restaurants I've had the pleasure of visiting in Central London. The concept of the restaurant is not one I've experienced with Italian food before, but I think it was superb. The staff were lovely and attentive throughout our time in the restaurant. There is a very nice ambience and I think everything there works perfectly. We had a birthday so at the end of the meal we had a small dessert brought out which I think was a very nice touch. The people I visited with were pescatarian, so I would definitely be looking to return in the future with others who eat meat so that I have the opportunity to try out other items on the menu.
s. w.
Amazing food and fantastic staff. Well worth the monet. Our first time... definitely going back
i. c.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food, excellent service. The wine list is superb. I've run out of hyperbole.
B. S.
We've been passing by this restaurant many times, promising ourselves to come and try it for ages.
This month we've finally managed to do it and I couldn't be happier that we did.
The food was exquisite, from the starters to the mains. We've chosen carpachio beef, beef medallions, beef tagliata and mix shellfish for 2.
Topped up with few glasses of delicious Inzolia which brought up lovely memories from our Sicilian holidays.
The staff very attentive and polite.
If you like uncommon Italian food you definitely should try Cicchetti Covent Garden
C. M.
Booked the table days ahead since we have a group of 7. Lunch menu with tapas style so you can try different dishes, lots of variety to choose from. The ambience is just right, not too high-end that makes you feel uncomfortable but relax with class. Beautiful interior, attentive and friendly staff, most importantly the food is delicious. I will visit again soon.
T.
Really good basic Italian food!
Fair price for the quality and location.
130£ for two persons, you order approximately 3-4 courses that you split with one person.
The best was the ravioli with truffles and the burrata with truffles, in ny opinion spot on!
Do reserve a table, since they are quite popular
D. H.
Exceptionally diverse menu with quality food and a great place to visit if you're a fan of seafood! The menu is Italian style tapas and by design the dishes are all medium sized. Price was towards the higher end but comparable with other eateries in the area.
The restaurant itself has a real sense of luxury and the decor was fitting with a classy establishment. We booked our table for 5.15pm and the place was virtually empty! Given another half an hour and it was packed with the pre-show rush, so if you are visiting before a show book well in advance and earlier the better to avoid the rush.
Despite this the food was prompt, the only issue was to do with a mix up of our order which was rectified quickly and forgivable given the pressure of a full dinner service.
Special mention for the fish stew which was teeming with flavour and served with a very generous portion of fresh mussels, scallops and clams. Highly recommend!
T. B.
We had an amazing evening the staff were so friendly and helpful the ambience was exceptional - we had lunch earlier in the day at the Ritz and this was the perfect evening meal and end to a wonderful day
L. N. O.
Lovely place, very good food and great service. Our waiter, Lorenzo, was very pleasant and attentive. We recommend it and will come back!
V. C.
The tenderloin was absolutely the best steak I’ve ever had. When I go back I’m just getting that dish and as many scallops au gratin that I can eat! Blueberry cocktail also delicious. Love this place!
R. W.
An Authentic Italian Restrauant with top quality food. This place has a great level of service.
Recommended Dishes:
1. Calamari
2. Steak
3. Tiramisu Dessert
Staff: 5/5
Environment: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Price: 4/5
I’ve given the price a 4/5 as it can be quite pricy but overall decent food with service.
C. C.
The place looks really fancy, it is a tapas kind of restaurant so it comes in small portions and you should order more than one. The dishes were nothing out of the ordinary (lasagna, lobster ravioli) but the carbonara was really good.
M. T.
They serve tapas style Italian dishes. Roughly 3-4 mains would be sufficient for 2 people. They get pretty busy from 5.30pm, would advise making reservations. Pretty decent prices for the food served. Spaghetti vongole was delicious.
V. W.
I can't rate this place enough, it's the second time I've been and it didn't disappoint, and we'll definitely keep going back. An intimate, Italian tapas, serving delicious food and drink. The decor is beautiful and service is efficient and friendly. I really recommend trying the Gnocchi Ripieni.
A. B.
Great food, service pretty good. Worth the trip if you are in area. Very similar vibe to Fumo if you’ve been, although I believe there are part of the same group. Would go again.
H. J.
Very nice environment, but unfortunately the food didn’t hold the same quality as for a few years ago. There are a few good dishes though, but most of them are okay, and some are actually bad.
J. R.
We were looking for an independent Italian restaurant for a quick dinner before heading home. San Carlo Cicchetti looked independent and 'classy' so we gave it a try. We didn't realise it was 'tapas style' until the waiter informed us.
The prices looked like main course, not small dish size and we were encouraged to order a few dishes. To be honest, we just wanted a bowl of pasta but we did order a few dishes.
This is the order our dinner arrived:
Spaghetti Carbonara
Lobster Ravioli
Tomato Bruschetta
Pizza Funghi
Crab Salad
The spaghetti was rich and tasty, so was the Ravioli. We aimed to finish these first so they didn't go cold. The Bruschetta came half way through our first dishes, followed swiftly by the hot Pizza. At one point there were four dishes on our table.
The Crab Salad came last by which time we didn't really want a cold, delicate dish.
Seating space was at a premium, so the tables either side of us were just an elbow away. We did watch in fascination as a beautiful tray of chilled Oysters was delivered to the next table followed swiftly by a hot Fish stew!
In all, our dinner last around 35 minutes. The lack of starter/main course options turned this dinner into a rush rather than something to be enjoyed.
The food was fine, but the order of arrival didn't help our appreciation of it. It might be great for theatre goers in a rush, but it wasn't for us.

San Carlo is an award winning restaurant group with restaurants in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Liverpool, Bristol, Leeds and Leicester."
This is not a theme restaurant. They provide the true essence of authentic Italian food, with Italian directors, management and chef.
San Carlo uses the finest fresh produce and ingredients, many of which are specially imported from Italy. It is able to create an explosion of culinary tastes.
All San Carlo restaurants display their own unique style in food due to the individuality of their creative chefs and management.
Cicchetti is truly spectacular and you would be hard pushed to find a more authentic Italian restaurant in central London!

Perfecto! Amazing food. Small portions like a tapas so an excuse to try more! Staff very friendly and chatty. Covid regulations covered completely. Will be returning ASAP!
貝.
Tapas style Italian. Dishes range from terrific (pumpkin risotto with truffles) to very good (salsiccia and truffle pizza) to pedestrian (meatballs and calamari). Interesting drink menu. Great atmosphere and attentive, helpful service.
D. C.
Very busy on new year's day (turning away people without a reservation) and everyone packed in quite tightly as the restaurant is long and narrow with little space for the staff to get around. The food is delicious, and worth the price for a nice occasion - especially enjoyed the fish stew, which comes out with a bread lid, and is absolutely full of mussels and huge prawns, a surprise but really delicious.

Whilst speaking to the crustaceans light-bathing on ice in the window of Carlo Cicchetti, Mummy and I were greeted by a staff member who likely wondered why a teddy bear was wagging its head at dead sea creatures from outside in the cooling air of October.
Fully booked, we were offered a seat at the bar to eat. So, with Mummy tottering precariously on a high stool and me perched securely on the marble counter, we partook of three small plates for a joyous lunch, within the relaxed yet somewhat chic setting, adorned with hangings of salami, red chillies and autumn leaves.
Void of the rubberiness and toughness that often plagues gnocchi, Cicchetti’s gnocchi (with black truffle), was soft and light yet still firm enough to encase the delicate filling. I was soooooo gleeful that I could actually taste the potato, rather than flour and gloomp. The subtle sweetness of the silky sauce (so clearly from the honey in the perfectly smooth, pecorino cheese sauce), soothed our throats, which were a little sore from singing at a public singing event at the Royal Opera House beforehand.
The soft fillet of sea bass baked in black salt from Sicily’s Etna, was brought to perfection by the crunch of a few salt crystals that remained after the removal of the salt in front of us by the lovely waitress. If you opt for this dish, make sure they leave a few salt crystals on, as it really does elevate the taste and add texture sensation.
We were also delighted with the griddled marinated vegetables aubergine, courgette, red pepper and artichoke heart.
The staff seem friendly without being in yer furry face (or unfurry in the case of the majority of humans)! Though the smiles may have been more tolerance of mad Mummy!
A. H.
Delicious italian food, very nice waiters! My girlfriend is the most fussy girl in the planet but she loved everything here! Thank you guys, we had a great time here!
Z.
Wonderful Italian tapas style restaurant, pick 4-5 dishes for two to share. The menu has something for everyone and a great wine list which is excellent value.
W. M.
Incredible experience. Very professional and attentive staff, offered and explanation of the menu and the food was 11/10. Amazing.
C. S.
Loved the place. Staff are helpful, ambience is nice and food is great.
Never had Italian tapas before but it was great. 4-5 dishes between 2 people is plenty.
Cocktails were good too.
N. S.
Relaxed atmosphere on the tables but the staff seemed a bit stressed, despite not being busy. Lunch set menu is great value for money. Service ok overall.
n. f.
Very busy and cramped. First time I have had my dinner on a tea plate. Wouldn't go back.
A.
Friendly staff and the food was quite good. Took a while for the food to come, however, overall good service.
J. D.
Brilliant restaurant for some nice Italian tapas! Already one of my favorites in London. Try 3-4 tapas per person and you can surely enjoy quite nicely.
C. C.
Good spot for a pre theatre lunch. Great service from friendly staff
M. T.
Donato the Waiter was as Professional as one would expect in a Superb Italian Restaurant
Professionalism and Experience…
Faultless in his service at my table.
Very Rare now after Covid in the West End!!
B. M.
Nice food but it was a little loud and portions could have been better. i.e. There was only 2 pieces of ravioli in the portion below.
Also one of the waiters told us off for ordering drinks from another member of staff when he wasn't around?
T. M.
Great service. Awesome atmosphere. One of the best Italian cuisine around.
G. W.
Amazing food, for central London I think the prices were incredible. The staff were very helpful, kind and caring and the food was incredible!
R. B.
Our go to place for everything italian - their service is very good (especially Hugo and Lorenzo!) and the food is amazing.
M. B.
Best Italian restaurant in London. The only downside was that we booked a table a month before and they could not find our booking on a day. The got us table eventually and it was worth waiting.
F. D.
Oh My God! Staff were great. Food was absolutely fabulous. Lobster ravioli is to die for.
B. W.
The food was incredible and service was fantastic, especially our waiter Lorenzi Panzaras.
A. F.
Tonight I had a few drinks and some delicious food with a friend at Cicchetti in Covent Garden. As the restaurant was fully booked we were given the option to sit at the bar, it was great to watch the two barmen preparing drinks, cocktails and entirely managing the bar so efficiently and smoothly despite the restaurant being extremely busy, real professionals who never forgot to smile whilst working at such fast pace. A special thank you to the barman Ugo for his kindness and the outstanding service delivered. I would definitely recommend this restaurant not just for the food but for the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.
N. C.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. You can order big or small depending on the number of tapas you get. The two of us ordered fried potato gnocchi, croquetas (ham and cheese), fried veal cutlets, chocolate bomb and tea and a mocha for dessert. The person next to us had an amazing dish made right in front of him at his table. It looked divine and he was another Traveller also happy with his meal. The one thing I would have done better is buy actual pasta because the gnocchi was surprisingly fried like the croquetas. Still amazing and delicious.
J. G.
Excellent restaurant, excellent food. Would highly recommend. Tapas style Italian. A1
J. m.
I kind of felt a little unwelcome and bombarded by the waiter upon entering the premises, but after letting him know that we had infact booked a table things changed. He recommended that we ordered at least 8 dishes to share for the table, which we did, but he also stated that the meals are small and are made to share, personally, they don't need to be shared mind you, you can by all means just order what you want per person and keep it like that...
But we did share, and the portions when sharing are obviously too small... also, for a place where sharing is recommended, you would think that for a table of four they would put four ravioli in the dish, instead of three.
The food although delicious, could have been warmer as it was kind of cold...and extra cutlery ie, spoons and cutting knives would make it easier to serve the shared dishes and should be a given.
Overall, nice food, nice decor, good location, but I doubt I'd return.
E.
This restaurant has amazing food with great precision. Their gnocchi was especially delicious!!
R.
Really excellent food. Sort of Italian tapas (share a few small dishes). Nice resteraunt if a little small, but authentic italian. Lovely espresso also.
T. K.
Lovely restaurant
Good was amazing and staff
Definitely go there again

Beautiful restaurant, I love the way they serve the food when ready x
A. C. C.
Great italian food, nice place, nice staff. The pumpkin risotto was particularly tasty.
K. G.
Been here several times and we are never dissapointed. The food is delicious and you get a chance to have a variety of smaller dishes.
A. L.
We had a lovely breakfast here. Very friendly staff and good food!
F. N.
Food was delicious, service was excellent.
Didn't like being offered a table in an isle way where everyone's bum rubs against your table as they walk past. Restaurant was 65% empty at 5:00pm, so we requested a more secluded table, and were granted same .
C. “. R.
Food is always really good and so reasonable for its location. Staff are nice and the wines good
T. M.
Gorgeous meal! Really beautiful food, not had Italian food this good in the UK before. Service was fantastic and it was very Covid safe too. Waiter Michele (I believe) was fantastic, very attentive. Would definitely return and recommend. Around £120 for two with a bottle of wine 6 'main small plates' and a dessert each.
S. H.
Went during corona pandemic on a Saturday evening - very lucky to get a table as itvwas very very busy but seemed safe with screens between tables
Food was good and was quickly served- a bit too quick for my liking
The food was good however and very tasty
Nit cheap- 4 plates of Italian tapas and a bottle of wine was £90.00
Full of groups mainly youngish women celebrating birthdays etc
Worth a visit if feeling flush
i.
Mamacitaaa 🤌🤌

A. N.
The place is very good and clean. the food there is So fresh and made in a professional way specially the seafood. The staff are extremely friendly and cheerful.
D. G.
I had a lovely dinner at here! Highly recommend spaghetti Vongole and fried mozzarella ball
D. M.
Outstanding service. Food out of this world. Amazing experience.
N. B.
Very busy a real buzz, food was very good
C. N.
Food was excellent, but I don't like the "tapas" approach of all the food turning up in random order, it does not work for Italian and I prefer to take a break between starter and main! Scrap the concept and go back to the usual excellent San Carlos
K. B.
Italian tapas. Ok food but nothing fabulous and while the prices look nice they are tapas and 3 or 4 are needed so you wind up paying as much as anywhere else. If quality was better it would be worth it but really was just meh...
G. H.
Good food. Expensive drinks. Wine starts at £30 a bottle. £200 for three.
m. c.
got us in quick, food was perfect size and delicious, drinks were also spectacular, service was friendly and cared very much about getting our food and drinks out to us as quickly as possible
Q. P.
Italian tapas. Tasty and good value. Formal but polite staff. Restaurant is much larger and lighter than our appears from outside. It was good.
C. M.
5 star food & excellent service. Drinks are slightly over priced but highly recommended
J. D.
Delicious and authentic Italian food in a sharing style. Very good wine choice.
D. C.
Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere. The food was AMAZING!
J. D.
Really good, such nice Staff and very good food, we will come back.
N. P.
Always love this place..waiters are so tentative and we'll knowledgeable. Great service
B. S.
Small plates of deliciousness. My first visit but certainly not my last
F. M.
Very nice place with excelent food. Small portions compared to the price. Go with a friend that invites you.
A. M.
Discovered this place by accident. A total gem. Was particularly attracted to the sea food display at the front.
As described earlier, it is an Italian tapas. Every dish we tried was very nice. We finished off with a cheese board and got £20 off the bill with the extended government scheme. Really
Look forward to returning
M. C.
Amazing food, refreshing fun approach sharing dishes. Definitely going back as there is so much to pick and choose from.
Genuinely spoilt for choice.
S. C.
Amazing restaurant excellent staff ,food and ambiance
b. s.
Really lovely people and atmosphere.
Food was ok
H. M.
Great wee find, Italian tapas...who knew?
Excellent sea food and steak, I would defo go back
J.
Excellent interior and great experience. We hadn't tried this restaurant before but we are happy we did. We had lunch here over the busy Easter weekend, and even at such busy hours, everything was up to a high standard here. The food, the service, and the wine are satisfying. We spent about £35 per person, and we felt it was value for money. Would definitely come back again. 10/10
S. D.
My absolute favourite restaurant. I like this branch much better than the Selfridges one as there's more choice in food and it just taste better really. I wish they increased the portion size of the lobster pasta!
P. S.
Service was good, I am not a great fan of the concept of a sharing meal were everybody picked two choices. Food quality was okay and no more. Very busy so must be a popular idea for others but not me. I found the staff a bit to much constantly asking if you were happy with the food. Once is okay but note very time they pass the table
C. S.
Such a lovely place!!! Amazing service and food!!! Ty Jessica for looking after us to xx

Every single thing was amazing. Veal Milanese was excellent, had to order a second. Prosecco options were great. Lasagna was great. Ravioli’s were all good but small. It’s designed taps style so meant for sharing a few different things. Pricing was excellent for quality of food. Venue is beautiful. Definitely returning next time I’m in town.
W. M.
Great atmosphere, very nice decor and staff were professional. Food was great - 2 dishes was suffice although could probably manage 3 if really hungry. Great choice of food and catered for a friend who was vegan (had a seperate menu).

Just popped in for a bite to eat on the way to the theatre, not due to reviews it just looked intriguing from outside. Our experience was amazing, would definitely recommend. The waiter who looked after us was fabulous, helpful & attentive, explaining how the concept worked and guiding us through. It's a little like mezze or tapas but an Italian version. We ordered 5 dishes which are small to medium sized, they arrive when ready and are placed in the centre of the table to share. The food was sublime, so so good & of course we had to have a pudding, again a sharer which was gorgeous. Cannot wait to return.
A. B.
More like 4 and a half only because it is very "intimate", however it is London and we ate at 6pm on a Friday so its gonna be busy! Our hostess was welcoming and even moved us to a table with more room when we said how tight the seating was. The booking process online was easy.
Our waiter was friendly and explained how the menu works (Italian tapas) and then brought over our water. We ordered some simple stuff as it was our first time here but the food was so good we will come again and be more adventurous next time. It's different to "normal" places but perfect for pre show meal.
N. C.
Only reason I'm going three stars instead of one is that the food wasn't bad. But the service was absolutely terrible.
Had a reservation for 7:30, but ended up only being seated an hour later. Asked the hostess like four times about our table, every time got the same "Yes, almost ready 5 more minutes" reply.
Once seated, had to ask the waiter three times for water. Food was good, but it's insane that you're paying 10£ for essentially five mouthfuls of pasta. Italian tapas is just another way of saying paying for a full dish and only get half.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Lovely food, friendly staff. Great atmosphere for a restaurant. Looking forward to a return visit
T.
Really nice decor and atmosphere. Food was not as good as I was expecting, being an 'award winning restaurant'. The concept of dining here is to share small plates. 6-7 small plates between 2 people.
Pizzas were good but pastas and lasagne wernt up to the same standard. Would come back to try other items of the menu. Staff were pleasant.
C. F.
Cozy place, good prices, great staff 👌🏼
U. U.
Delicious, good service, interesting menu choices.
S. T.
We loved the small sharing dishes style here. For those who aren't sharers, you can still build your own meal with a couple of dishes.
Their way of serving is "as it's cooked" so don't expect everything to arrive at once, but it works fine with the sharing style.
All of the dishes we had were really enjoyable - loved the courgette fries!
E. D.
Staff were very rude here but food was nice not worth it though because the staff ruined the experience
A. K.
Delish! Decided to come here on a Saturday night around 830/9pm and were able to get a table right away. Restaurant was packed but they did have a few tables open for walk ins. We got about 5 dishes, dessert and tea for 2 people and our bill was around 66 pounds- which we didn’t think was bad (going off other reviews of price) waitress was super nice and all the food was delish. Pasta I believe is made in house and you can tell! Def go here if you are looking for a great atmosphere/food.
A. M.
Very good italian food, I love to eat here!!!
C. S.
Beautifully decorated restaurant serving authentic Italian tapas style dishes. Staff were wonderful and all the food was excellent. We did book in advance online which was easy. Highly recommend! Was so close to the lyceum theatre where we were visiting so handy for pre theatre dining.

My wife and I went in without a reservation on a Saturday at 3pm, and were offered a table until 5pm. Our waiter was great, friendly and not pushy, ensuring we took our time.
The menu consists of small Italian dishes, mostly around £8-£12 each. They recommend 5 dishes between 2 people, which was fine for us, though if you are a big eater, you will want more.
There is no starter /main concept, which means everything is very quick, and suits lunch more than evening. If you prefer a leisurely meal with different courses, it's probably not for you.
In general, we felt it was slightly overpriced given the size and quality of the food. £11 bought 2 scallops and £9 bought 3 meatballs, though the pizzas were better value. We ordered a seafood spaghetti dish that was little more than the sum of its parts, with dry overcooked mussels.
Wine started from around £26 a bottle, with some interesting choices.
Overall, it's slightly better quality and service than most chain Italians, but we didn't think it was worth the premium price and probably wouldn't return.
E. S.
The food is delicious but portions are a bit too small even for tapas. Staff is very attentive.
B. X.
Such a beautiful place! The ravioli was amazing
A. A.
We had a lovely experience here for our 3 year anniversary dinner before a show.
The food & cocktails were superb, and the service was excellent.
You're a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to the menu, so what we did was pick a few items that looked appealing, then asked the staff for a few more recommendations to fill in the gaps based on our existing choices. This worked very well.
We ordered five plates between the two of us, plus a dessert each, and that was about right. Felt nicely satiated.
The thing that sold the evening for us was the service. We felt extremely well looked after by the friendly & professional staff. I happened to notify them when booking that it was a special occasion, and upon arrival we were given complimentary drinks. Later on, the dessert plate had piped in chocolate 'Happy Anniversary' on the side for my fiancée. A really nice touch that made her smile.
Ok, it was a bit more expensive than our usual dining, but well worth the extra in our opinion.
Set the stage for a wonderful and memorable evening. We will return next time we're in the area.
Many Thanks to you all. Keep up the good work. 10/10.

Visited this great restaurant before going to the theatre. Service was fantastic and food was fresh and delicious. Tapas portions were plenty, but would recommend at least 3 dishes per person as a minimum. Left feeling full and satisfied. Great value for money, convenient location and would definitely recommed.
P. B.
I do enjoy this group of restaurants ( another is in Piccadilly) .
The service is friendly and professional, the decor is bright, light and comfortable, there is pretty much something for everyone on the menu, the pricing isn't too bad considering the quality of the food and the locations.
There is literally something for everyone, it is the sharing concept but done pretty well, such that if you don;t want to share there is no need to as the portion sizes are decent. We had 6 dishes for 3 of us which was pretty spot on.
give it a go
J. D.
Had a lovely meal and the food was very flavourful, but the service was poor unfortunately.
J. L.
Great Food / Awkward service.
The food was great.
Beef Carpaccio / Tuna all good. Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe was good too. small portion though. Carbonara would be great I guess.
Not so happy with the service. The two ladies were smiling in fromt of me but were making rather unpleasant faces to each other on my back. I wish I knew why.. I felt as if I was being frowned upon or not welcome to the restaurant for no reason. On the way out, the staff opened the door for me but was looking at somewhere else saying bye...I felt her attitude was half-hearted
Despite the quality of food, location, cleanliness etc, the staffs' attitude was...unprofessional.
S. G.
Italian tapas and very good. We dined at lunchtime approaching Christmas, the place was absolutely stuffed but they still managed to maintain good service and the food was excellent.
We had pumpkin risotto, beef fillet, monkfish, capresse salad with aubergine and lobster ravioli, all wonderful.
Priced appropriately given the location
R. P.
Top notch food and service. We had erroneously booked the wrong branch but they fitted us in without question. The menu suggests four or five dishes for two people, which was more than enough. The pasta was especially good, as was the mellanzana parmigiana.
S. g.
Wonderful service and very delicious food!
E. B.
Ate at the bar before a show; great ambience, authentic Italian feel and food. Slight mix up re water- ordered sparkling, it never arrived, we weren't too bothered, but then were charged for it. No fuss though, easily resolved. Delicious and we will be back!
J. B.
Absolutely delicious food. Enjoyed the sharing sizes. Lovely atmosphere. However, the service could definitely be improved- not very friendly and brought the wrong dish to us several times.
T. W.
Came to the rescue when another restaurant let us down.Food and staff 5 star!!
Completed a memorable day for my daughters 18th birthday and will go back there to celebrate mine.
Thank you so much!!!
D. V.
Good service, even though it was rather busy, and good food. The tapas style eating worked well for my group. It was a bit warm in the centre of the restaurant and they could definitely turn down the music a bit...but otherwise a really decent meal.
A. F. (. i. t. K.
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The small frontage with its charming window display hides a sizeable restaurant inside with interesting metal top tables. The atmosphere was electric and the service friendly and helpful. The great prize however was the wonderful quality of the food. Time and care has been taken to prepare the tapas sized portions of loveliness. I'm looking forward to returning to try the other dishes on the menu. An excellent experience
R. G.
Lovely food, great service. Very good idea Italian tapas, we were able to try 7 different dishes between the 3 of us. Especially liked the sea bass and the steak.
N. M.
Beautiful venue, serving some delicious Italian dishes. I'd skip lunch if you're having dinner here, as the portions; though you're recommended to order 2/3 per person; are pretty generous!
D. N.
Good but not great Italian restaurant. Friendly service.
G. H.
Great service and food. Very buzzy atmosphere. Loved it.
g.
Great choice!! Everything we had was delicious and cooked with care. The environment was great although it was packed and a little tight. I would suggest to everyone who appreciates good food. Not an economic choice but it's worth each penny.
G. S.
This is a really good restaurant with high quality food although the prices are a little deer for the portion sizes
C. M.
Genuine Italian atmosphere, right down to the fact that the waiter only took orders for half our table before wandering off. It is not without charm and the food itself is good but not special.
D. M.
Fabulous food & atmosphere but inability to get the dishes delivered in a logical order was disappointing. We had a sausage dish served 1st followed by calamari then carpaccio and after a delay the deep fried vegetable dish. Quite illogical and was the only thing that slightly spoilt a fabulous lunch
S. B.
Great food great service great location 👍
I. P.
Truly excellent Italian restaurant. Specialises in small plates (don't let that put you off) as they are great for sharing. Quality wine list, attentive service. Book in advance as (especially the weekends) can get fully booked for most of the evening. Above average menu prices mean this is a place reserved for special occasions or celebrations.
A. P.
Great food, very friendly and attentive staff.
Had dinner here with my family, including 2 children of 5 and 7 years, and we really enjoyed the experience.
The food came quite quickly even though the restaurant was very busy.
Would definitely recommend.
C. K.
The restaurant has the concept of sharing small portions amongst the guests and this is bizzare.
Italian food in particular pasta is not made to be share and the whole concept makes it a bit complicated.
That being said the quality is very good and authentic.
Service is average
By the way the tomato and lemon on the table is also a bit weird
Z. Y. (.
We went for a friends birthday dinner, and ordered a total of about 10 dishes to share between 4 people. I have quite high standard on food and I have to say that each individual dish we ordered here was so tasty. The size of the dish was just great to share between us, as well as to let us try as many options as possible. We've spotted some Italian football stars' photos on the wall - they probably had visited before as well lol. Overall I think this is one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been.
H. W.
I cannot stress how amazing this place is! For a busy evening you need to book in advance. The food is all high quality, tasty and just excellent. The menu is such that everything is made to be shared. I went with a friend and we devoured 7 courses easily! The Prosciutto San Daniele & Gnocco Fritto is a must to try, deep fried bread should be on menus everywhere!
C. M.
The drinks are superb! The wait staff, amazing! Pricey, but well worth it!
N. S.
Travelled up to London for a Saturday evening show and had lunch at Cicchetti, we had booked a room in a hotel round the corner and just walked by and we both commented on how good the place looked and thought lets try here...
Well, it was well worth it.
It's a cosy little restaurant but not too cramped.
Waiters service was excellent and his suggestions where spot on.
As we had a evening meal booked already we just needed a light lunch with a nice glass of wine. (We had 2x starter off the daily specials & 2x starters off the main menu + Wine, ALL where delicious)
Would recommend this place to any & everyone...
C. B.
Very popular restaurant which I would recommend pre-booking for. The interior is a feast for the eyes wih photos of famous people who had had dinner there.
The concept is one of small plates where you are encouraged to order 4/5 small plates for two people. The food is good, but one of our meals was slightly cold and one of the pizzas was burnt on the base. Service is friendly and good.
It was a very nice restaurant, slightly more expensive than a chain Italian.
T. F.
Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. I wish the portions were a smidge bigger.
Lots of items to choose from, it felt like I might miss out on something. Nothing was bad, everything was delicious, so no buyers remorse at all.
M. C. D.
Fabulous menu! Great atmosphere by the bar and staff were attentive and always upbeat. Thoroughly enjoyed the prawns with the swordfish and the courgette fries. Can't wait to come back!
A. v. P.
Went here for a present theatre meal and it was really lovely. The venue feels luxurious and the food was amazing. We only had 4 plates and a side between 2 and it was more than enough. There recommendation of 5 and 6 I think is too much. We didn't have time for deserts but what went by looked really good. The price wasn't too much for the amount of food we ordered. However prices can escillate quickly.
I would recommend eating here if you are in the vicinity.
L. S.
We went for lunch on Saturday. The food was good but we had a couple of issues. I had pea and scallop risotto which was nice bit it came with a massive prawn on top & 1 tiny scallop. No mention on the menu of 1 scallop, it says scallops & doesn't mention a prawn in a shell..My son ordered chicken but it didn't come out. After we had finished eating they came over to say your chicken will be 5 mins, 20 mins later still no chicken. We cancelled it in the end as it was getting ridiculous! They explain menu as tapas but the prices are of a normal menu & when we received the food, the sizes are of normal size...
T. C.
It's OK but not does not warrant the prices charged. The tomatoes were chilled, the gnocchi a bit stodgy, the wine over priced. And I really hate that they add a discretionary 12.5% service charge to the bill that you have to ask to be removed.
M. S.
Last week while traveling through London and staying at The Waldorf, I came upon a very special gem. It is called San Carlo Chicchetti Covent Garden and it is in the Theater District. I sat at the corner end of the bar by the front window and the lovely Ida greeted me. This is where my romance with their food, wine and service began. I had several dishes, as they are served “tapas.” The portions are actually generous if not even copious. The quality was uniquely delicious. My favorite of the evening was their Tuna Tartare, which Ida prepared so well before my very eyes. When in London, do drop in. It can be romantic, spontaneous, casually fun and orally euphoric (or as I like to say a part-in-your-mouth good time), and it will be most definitely delicious and enjoyable. Sit at the bar and ask for Ida, tell her I sent you and say hi for me.
Cheers to Ida, the Management and the Kitchen for a memorable evening. I have had the privilege of eating at many places. This is a meal I will always remember.
A. R. A.
The drinks and desserts were very nice
K. H.
The food was delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the location. We had some trouble getting some dishes, but it was very busy. If you are not in a rush, this is a perfect place to go and try a lot of delicious food. Our Sicilian friend was very happy.
A. S.
Splendid dining experience. Great service, beautiful restaurant and the tapas style Italian was both fun and amazingly good. Definitely try the truffle ravioli, it's their most popular dish for good reason. Honestly can't go too wrong here though.
A. D. V.
We often go to eat in restaurants with Italian cuisine but this time it was an unforgettable experience. We had as starter tuna tartar and buffalo mozzarella, ad main tuna stake and scallops “so good” and he suggested a great wine with what we were eating. Thanks to the service and attention that Alessandro Ledda gave us. We’ll back and want be served by him.
B. P.
Some of the dishes were amazing, a few were not hot though, barely warmed! and the rib eye steak was salty and gristly. The waiter was miserable and the place was jam packed which made getting to the toilet a mission as it is very narrow inside, nearly had plates of food down me twice.
E. M. B.
- good food
- service can improve
- we order 6 dishes that came at different times, by the time the last one arrived all others had long been finished.
- it took 10 minutes from ordering to the waiter coming back to the table to inform one of the dishes wasn't available
N. G.
Generally a nice experience - came here on New Years Eve so service was as expected ... (not the greatest, fast at serving the menu and food, but really slow for other things like bringing jackets back and the check...waited really long for our jackets, longer than for the food.. hence 4 stars), but could see that waiters were putting effort into staying professional. Despite this flaw, I’d still recommend this place for any other day or special occasion - the decoration is lovely, food is worth the value, there’s a variety of tapas to try on the menu and the waiters are kind.
A. i. N.
Delicious food, great service and very fast too. The menu consists of a selection of fairly small dishes so you need 3 or 4 per person. I would happily go again!
T. T.
This is a very nice tapas type Italian restaurant it's always fully booked but we were lucky as we could get a table for 2 without booking.
The food very tasty lil portions 5-6different dish can be enough between 2 people. Then we went for the lil taster mix desserts. We had a dessert wine and my friend had a cognac and we paid around £ 40
A. K.
I was very impressed with this restaurant. The food was very well balanced and a nice offering of wines was available. The ambience of the seating area is also good with waiters very responsive. I will come back, I know they have a few different restaurants around London also
D. S.
Pretty bang average fair in all honesty and all too much show...esp at the prices being charged
M. P.
Absolutely delicious food and nice selection of wine. The staff are friendly, helpful and encourage you to take your time. Very reasonably priced for the level of service and quality of food.
S. A.
Good quality food! Gnochi, pizzetta, bruschetta were all delicious. Its nice to have Italian style tapas as you can try up to 3 different dishes in 1 sitting. Service was prompt.
M. S.
Tapas place run by Italian crew. Nice food and good service!
J. C.
We enjoyed a great early evening meal here. The food was exceptional and there was a great variety of dishes to choose from, all of which were reasonably priced for the quality. There was also a good selection of wines available
R. B.
Gorgeous Italian style tapas, well priced, gnocchi was incredible!!
M. B.
Excellent food and very helpful staff
N. W.
A lively and friendly restaurant. Food was excellent and service even better. I have a fish allergy and the chef accommodated this without any fuss. Reasonably priced for London. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
C. P.
There is plenty of choice here. Italian generally means lots of pasta and pizza but here there was additional choice. I had the beef carpaccio starter and a sea bass main but the place is set up for sharing though plates are still generous for tapas. Good food and good value with good service.
R. N.
This place has sparked a new found love for Italian food. Delicious, fresh and flavorful food. Had a bad experience with an Italian year's ago but this place was special. Prices are good as well considering where it is. 5*
K. L. S.
Loved the building, the atmosphere and the food here. Thanks guys, we'll be back x
K. S.
Delicious, fresh, inspired food. Nothing felt too heavy. Delightful cocktails and a nice wine list. I started with a Negroni and the salt cod croquettes, which were amazing. I had pinot grigio and the chicken liver pate with truffles which was the best pate I've ever had in my life. Absolutely fabulous meal.
W.
Our 2nd visit here. Luxurious, friendly Italian restaurant. Style is tapas oriented a la carte.
Food is delicious and well presented. Wine list, while not extensive, is thoughtfully researched and there are glass sized offers, as well.
Hostesses, managers and waiters couldn't have been more helpful and professional.
Atmosphere relaxed in every way.
We will be back and told the manager on our departure.
T. C.
Fantastic. Great food lovely staff and atmosphere.
J. S.
We went on Sunday without a booking. We were asked if we would like to sit at the bar, which was ok with us. The menu was fully explained to us before we ordered so we knew to order 3 or 4 dishes... service nd food was superb. Will definitely be returning.
M. L.
Stumbled across this place after going to the theatre, the food was fantastic and the service was attentive. Cocktails were nice but they don't do pints and serve beer in a little wine glass. Also I found it was a little bit on the expensive side.
A. H.
Outstanding! The appetizers and pizzas are the best I have had in my travels! Pasta was good, but second to the others. I highly recommend reservations after 530!
K. D.
Fabulous! Excellent food, service, portions and price. Highly recommend. Staff was friendly and neighboring tables were friendly. Ambiance was perfect. Coming from USA- not sure what to expect for cuisine and would gladly return!
B. Z.
Very good Food, fine wine, excellent atmosphere, staff is incredible 👌. Anniversary night is always special when spent here. Thank you!
L.
This was a hidden little oasis that has a charming interior. Very attentive staff and good menu. Skip the desserts, as it doesn't seem to be their strength. However very nice pasta and fish entrees.
S. L.
Great food, love the small "tapas" size portions so we could try many dishes. Wait-staff was very helpful and friendly! Some of the seating area is a bit crowded, we will request an area away from the main walk-way next time.
Going back for a second time this week!
R. K.
Might be the best san Carlo I’ve been to, the biggest most varied menu and everything we ordered was delicious.
They have good covid security measures in place too.
S.
Food is absolutely amazing. But they serve the tapas that is ready and all our meat tapas came first and we had to wait a long time for the vegetables. But the restaurant were really great and didn't charge us for the vegetables.
R. N.
Great place. They got us in at 5:15 PM on a Friday night, but we had to be out by 6:30. Challenge accepted. We ordered 9 plates for 4 people and were completely stuffed. Even still, we went for the Tartufo flambeau and tiramisu which were both amazing. Quick service and great feast in busy Covent Garden!!
F. A. M.
Amazing Italian restaurant that offer great tapas style options, that way you can try multiple dishes at the same lunch / dinner. Make sure to book a table in advance! My favourite Italian place!
D. B.
This restaurant is decent in my opinion not amazing but have a good concept which is different to other italian restaurants, they do a tapas equivalent menu so its small plates so you can get a selection of things instead of maybe just getting your usual italian favourite your forced to maybe try out new things. The food is on the expensive side but restaurant is really lovely inside so it makes sense. I Got the carbonara, lamb chops and lobster ravioli, The carbonara was disappointing i found it a bit bland because their was not enough sauce and the pancetta never had a strong enough flavour but the lamb chops and lobster ravioli was lovely.
R. G.
The service was friendly knowledgeable and professional, as well as being staffed by italians to help with the authenticity.
The food is extremely flavourful, with the sea bass fillet being cooked to perfection. 4 dishes from the daily menu was perfect for two to share, and the crazy sized ferrero rocher dessert was a challenge!
Will gladly be back in the future.
F. P.
I normally visit Alto once a week but went here first time, for a Xmas dinner. The food was so delicious, much better than Alto (which is a favourite!), The menu was the same as Alto, just cooked WAY better. Now this is my new favourite from the San Carlo group !!! I highly recommend the Beef Medallions, Gamberoni, Calamari, Panna Cotta and Espresso !
P. T.
In for a pre-theatre meal which was just right portion wise, although they forgot one main course, but made up for that with a tasty dessert on the house and the non stop interaction with Angelo our waiter who was a big hit with the ladies at our table.
N.
Busy, noisy restaurant with friendly, helpful and polite staff. Good menu options, tasty, well presented food. Went for the tapas where four dishes may be ordered between two people. Generous portions. The Sea Bass Filet, Pumpkin Risotto and Fried Chicken were delightful though I did not luke the Rice Balls stuffed with Beef Ragu. Nice, clean washroom facilities situated on tbe basement level. Located a short walk from Charing Cross and Covent Garden Stations and near to a number of bus routes.
W. B.
The place has excellent warm lighting, restaurant windows were well presented, we had not booked but were glad to see they could fit us in, we ordered food, but when food was delievered the waiter stank of cigarette smoke, I guess he popped out for a quick smoke while our meals were been prepared. I think the fact the weather was a bit damp outside made the cigarette smoke stick to his waiter jacket more than usual. Otherwise all was great.
M. K.
Don't sit by the door when it's raining or cold out as the draft is bad...food is excellent...ask to see wine list before buying your favourite by the glass..mine was £16:30 for a glass. Good service and food. Recommended
E. M.
Came at 9 w/o a reservation but got a nice table for 2. Helpful staff. Italian tapas with lots to select from. Gnocchi and halibut were my favourites.
C. P.
It's Italian Tapas restaurant, smaller to medium plates to be shared. Great food, great atmosphere. Pizza really good, pasta as well. Chicken and beef tagliata also great, beef tagliata plate could be little bit bigger. Ice cream really really good.
H. M.
Lovely spot off Covent Garden, managed to get a walk in table on a Saturday night. Excellent service from people who knew their food! Lovely decor and atmosphere and of course delicious food!
D. S.
This place is always perfect, the atmosphere, the food, the service is extremely good for an "unstarred" restaurant. Some portions are small but rightly priced, others are a bargain. Avoid pizza if you can, but choose some fish instead... they know how to make it!
D. P.
Great restaurant! Great food! Everyone is Italian. Which makes it a bit more authentic. Only thing I would say is that waiters are a little non chalant but it’s easy to get over because the foods so good!
N. A.
Definitely my top 3 Italian restaurants in London. Gnocchi gorgonzola in parmesan basket is very very good, I've been having the same dish for the past 5-6 years and nothing has changed ! The service is very attentive unlike the other Italian institutions in London - arrivederci Cecconis :-(
R.
Loved everything but not the girl at the door.. Very rude and without hospitality skills.
G. M.
Each dish is perfect in its own way. I attended last week and was very pleased with the overall service. The price is slightly on the higher side but it is reflected in quality.
P. B.
Interesting restaurant that straggles between two streets and hence seating can be a little compact. Great variety on the menu which is really best described as an Italian tapas restaurant.
i. l.
The waiter had a face like a boiled boot. Far too superior to be waiting on us. A bar man from Sardinia was completely the opposite. Welcoming as soon as went through the door. Chatted for some time. Food ok but far too expensive. Trying too hard with the upscale image
O. G.
Who wanna a good taste of Italian kitchen you welcome to come to this restaurant
Amazing food and staff
T. M.
Rating: 4.5
Portions may be small but filling, I thought I was going to try one from each section of the menu but I was full after 4 (and I like to eat); my friends and I had between 2 and 4 'tapas' each. The only one that I felt didn't fully deliver was the 'cacio e pepe': I guess they have their own recipe which differs from the original. Overall it was a very good evening, thanks also to the friendly and attentive waiting staff. A shout-out to the Lazio (one of my least favourite teams :) fan waiter and to the adorable 'Gessiha'.
N. O.
Excellent food and service. Will certainly go back. Only downside was that on a cold day it's a bit cold when the door is opened if you are seated at the top, but appreciate there's not a lot they can do about this.
S. F.
Food was delicious but we had a big group and nobody seemed to get what they'd ordered as dishes ended up all different places on the table. Kind of essential for a "tapas" style place.
H. C.
Lovely food and amazing staff
M. M.
Single traveler made to feel very welcome. I chose to eat at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. Amazing food, I asked for a glass of wine to suit my meal, also amazing. Will likely go back tomorrow!
l. j.
Excellent Italian tapas restaurant. Excellent service, delicious food and the bill wasn't as scary as we thought. Well worth a try. Great atmosphere!
S. J.
We were surprised that although the dishes sound like mains but instead they're all tapas. Slightly pricey but the quality of food is amazing. Highly recommended!
D. M.
Excellent food and the great service. Give them a call a day or two before to book a table. Aim to order 2 plates at least a head - everything to share. 30pp just food.
L. W.
Little gem of a place. Tapas style Italian food really works and is of extremely high quality. A restaurant we just keep going back to as its so nice with a great atmosphere.
J. C.
Amazing lunch here , well definitely be returning.
J.
It is pricey but worth it for the amazing authentic Italian fare. Of course you can get way cheaper prices in Italy, but you are in london. What I love about Italian places in london is that they are actually Italian so I speak Italian all day long with all the waiters and chefs... incredibly delicious and fantastic wine menu. I’ve lived on and off in Italy for 10 years, I don’t come to Europe from America for customer service as we might expect it here, so I go open minded every where I go and don’t care about waits because everywhere in Europe has long waits but that’s part of European charm lol I think in london the service might be more comparable to an american standard but that being said, I am commenting to someone’s 1 star review about the service.. I’ve been here a few times and although it might seem a bit chaotic, I would not say it was ever bad service not neglectful. I’ve always had a very pleasant experience. Grazie Mille! I can’t wait to go back! 😍

Amazing place, fantastic food, atmosphere and the service was first rate
S. B.
Tremendously good food. I had the black ravioli (crab filling) with brown shrimp sauce, and it was to die for! Plates are small, so you can share a few. Will go back whenever I return to London.
R. K.
really interesting restaurant, delicious food and what I liked most is that portions are small, but still big enough for sharing, so one can enjoy different tastes, not just one dish, highly recommended! 🌞

Amazing restaurant..service was excellent...
Food was very good. Ingredients top notch, absolutely recommend this place. Note you will prob need to make reservations
A. P.
Very nice atmosphere, good service but the portions of food are quite small. Not all dishes reach your expectations.
J. S.
Fabulous food and lovely staff.
M. Y.
Very nice experience , friendly place, very good food, bravo.
S. R.
Great food although drinks a bit pricey
J. F.
Absolutely delicious - make sure you get their signature ravioli
R. A.
Good food, just the right level of attentiveness in service.
A very good experience
P. A.
Love this place. So fun and quirky.
r. y.
Some of the dishes are exquisite and i would come again for them. The rest are also good. Great cocktails and staff
P. B.
Slow service, tiny portions of pasta and dishes come "when they're ready" so our starters of Bruschetta came after out mains! Crazy.
Also some dishes did not arrive at all.
L. B.
Tasty food, excellent service !!
N. M.
The best Italian food experience I've ever had. Huge selection, experienced Italian waiters and well priced for London. A gem in Central London!
G. G.
Great authentic Italian taster foods, dishes explained and served immaculately. If you want a taste of Italy this is definitely the place to go.
O. G.
Popular, busy....delicious and for what you get very reasonable.
Had the Ravioli with truffles and pecorino which was delicious and the only thing you can think about this dish is that you want more of it. Olives with tapenade and fresh bread, veal milanese with a roast potato dish finished things off...fantastic
M. H.
Fantastic restaurant, with an amazing feel and decor, and top quality dishes and service. The price is very fair for the food, service and location. One of my favourite restaurants.
T. D.
WOW! First time and Great time! Aranchi is the best, if you never had it you have to try it here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Toppas style but plenty of food, you won't be dissapointed!
R. W.
Great food, wonderful restaurant, ideal for a real treat!
E. T.
Lovely little italian restaurant with delicious dishes. Everyone was polite and helpful and the prices are good for the quality of food. i would definetely go again!
M. L.
Great little upmarket Italian. Non chain. Food very fresh. Portions too small, prices high but it is covent garden. Fun for a special occasion dinner.
J. A.
Excellent food and service. Would really recommend it.
M. B.
Amazing food, amazing staff. Had a great time for the wifes birthday. Definitely would visit again.
C. S.
Lovely small delicious plates! It's a pity that a shift change meant we were forgotten & didn't get one of our food items. A lot of staff but poorly managed it seems!
S. B.
So incredibly delicious. Waiting staff were very courteous and attentive despite it being very busy when we visited. Would definitely visit again.
d. w.
Great food lovely flavours . Appropriate portion sizes. Staff miserable and pompous. If they put a smile on their faces it would be 5 stars .
C. H.
Spinach and egg pizza was glorious. All the portions are tiny though- would not have entered on a student budget if I had known each person needs 2-3 dishes to be full!
R.
A little overpriced and pretentious. I believe true Italian food is about simplicity, flavour and seasons and their menu doesn't reflect that.
G. B.
Great good, great atmosphere, excellent service.
G. A.
It's different! It's like an Italian tapas place. Once I'd got my head round the menu, I loved it. Staff are attentive and will advise you if you ask. I recommend.
G. M.
Excellent food, service was fantastic and not too expensive. You do not need 4 dishes though, they come up a reasonable size
M. C.
Wonderful Italian small dishes and drinks at the bar. Excellent service, design and atmosphere. The food was excellent.
E. S.
Superb food. Just check with the waiter to ensure you aren't getting too much of the same thing: quite a few of the dishes have the same tomato base, but that isn't apparent from the menu.
L. B.
Very nice place we discovered by accident. Great food and service, we couldn't be happier. The tapas concept works in italian as well!
G. H.
What an amazing restaurant. Our first visit for a family birthday with two children and seven adults in the group and two of those Coeliac. Thumbs up guys.
C. F.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Hard working and helpful staff.
Love it here. Fourth visit and will be back
C. B.
I have never in my life enjoyed food as much as I enjoyed this amazing beautiful restaurant on Saturday 12th Nov with dear friends Katie Prakash and Baby Hari .
I love to cook truly I do but served exquisite divine food as good as this was truly The Best I have had in my life on this earth .
I will be back in the New Year to treat all my friends ..
Thank you also to the loverly staff who where so attentative and thoughtful ......
J. S.
Stumbled across Cicchetti while looking for a place to eat last weekend. Ended up absolutely LOVING it. An Italian restaurant that does small plates - genius. The scallops were unreal.
B. P.
great but expensive. Superb Italian tapas. The tuna tartare was mixed at the table and was great. Felt posh but comfortable and relaxed at the same time.
K. D.
Everything was good! But I personally prefer their sister restaurant Fumo - more space, attention from staff and food well prepared(even the menu is similar)
A. H.
Best Italian food I've ever had. Walked in on a Saturday night, unable to get a table, but ate a wonderful small plate dinner at the bar
A. P.
I love tgis place. Massive choice from the menu. My favourite is the gnocchi gorgonzola. I noticed the quality has fallen a bit in my last visits
S. T. R.
It's a really unusual way of eating Italian food. Mezze meets Italy. The food really is very good and the staff are attentive and welcoming.
B. m.
Been here several times food was good as normal but service was terrible seemed like everything was rushed we planned a birthday there I asked if they could provide a slice of cake for my wifes birthday with a candle the brought to the table 1 minute profita roll this is the reason I give it a 3 star rating not on the food but on the service and they also questioned the reason why we didn't want to pay the addinional 10% service charge (WHAT IS OPTIONAL) and walked away in a huff when we told him the reason why
L. W.
Italian Tapas. Perfect spot. Great for a lunch or dinner. We really enjoy this restaurant every time we go there. The gnocchi is pillow perfection
G. W.
Best Italian food I’ve ever had in my life! Service and atmosphere was 10/10 waitstaff is incredibly nice and accommodating
N. J.
Lovely food and restaurant! Italian version of Tapas, great taste and food made with love. The staff were very professional and nice.
S. M.
Good food but no vegetables in anything. Had to order 4 sides in order to get enough. Small portions so it appears cheaper than it is
C. M. J.
Fantastic!! Staff are wonderful and friendly. The style is small plates of wonderful Italian food for sharing and the decor is lovely
C. H.
Great food and service. Sharing plates and lots of them.
K. K.
Nice atmosphere. Excellent service.
The food was not that good.
Exception was the tartare
C. s.
Amazing service with excellent food, scallops melted in my mouth and the fish stew was just to die for
When the desert came out 4 waiters sang happy birthday to me !! Superb restaurant and most definitely recommend it !!
S. W.

Such high quality food and the tapas style allows you to try many different dishes. I always recommend this place to friends when they are in London.
C. H.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Came after a show and had the post-show tapas special. I highly recommend it.
J. M.
Fantastic food, spectacular service. Thank you Michele for an excellent evening.
m. b.
Very good food. But dont sit near the counter as people coming in and out keep leaving door open and you will freeze
D. S.
This is by far the best Italian place I have been to in London. Enjoy great food, pick 4-5 different food items, and share it over good wine
L. M.
Tapas-style Italian - fun option to try several different dishes. Don’t let the “small” portions fool you - you can easily fill up here.
R. D.
Happened by and wanted a drink. This is the real deal!! Italian family ran business. They were awesome in every way. Dessert was worth every penny!!!!
P. A.
Excellent food and wine. Friendly staff. London prices. It's a Italian tapas bar
Well worth a visit.
S. A.
Good food and nice personal but a very bad placing at table. Think i was bumped into at least twenty times.
N. P.
A bright and buzzy place; service varies depending on the waiter; food okayish but not excellent. Good for casual occasions.
A. W.
Great but service bit off...staff grumpy and unhelpful!
M. R.
Absolutely love this place . You can have more variety due to the size of the meals . Service was lovely and food was so tasy 5*
M. F.
Had an amazing lunch here yesterday, the food is out of this world, can't wait to go back!
K. R.
Fantastic. Business lunch and everything was fantastic! Food and Service were on point. Will for sure be back
M. O.
Great food and service
C. D.
A very pleasant evening with too much choice. Very helpful staff, and extremely tasty menu. Lovely wine.
R.
Wonderful meal. Small courses, each better than the next. Highly recommend, but keep in mind the bill gets expensive quickly.
L. M.
Food is fantastic but be prepared to wait even if you have booked. If you are heading to the theatre book at least 2 hours before start time
O. R.
Great find. Was surprised not to have heard of this place. Wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. Recommended.
D. G.
Great food concept, excellent flavours and magnificent service! A really good choice,
Especially if you are a company of four or more.
V. P.
Great food, good service and ok prices (for what you get). Beware only of the small portions and lack of baby changing facilities.
F. F.
Very good food and drinks. "Tapas" style restaurant in an Italian version. Slightly overpriced because in covent garden. Service and food are very good tho
J. B.
Absolute delight to dine and drink in here, the food was sublime as was the wine! Fabulous place to have dinner before the theatre.
a. a.
Good Italian food. Tasty carpachio.
I. D.
Beautiful restaurant, exceptional service and the food was to die for. Real Italian food presented well! Highly recommend.
J. R.
A lovely restaurant with amazing food and ambience.Tapas type place with great selection. Lovely helpful staff. I would highly recommend.
A. K.
An absolutely amazing place - delicious food, great concept that allows people to try more dishes and share them all, friendly and attentive staff always happy to chat if you are ;)
The place can get really crowded, so make sure to make a reservation to avoid disappointment - you can often wait to be seated, but we have once come to find out that all tables are booked for the remaining of the evening.
L. C.
Very good service and delicious food
A. K.
Great service and enjoyed the variety of Italian Tapas offered.
H. G.

Hits were amazing, misses were average. Cacio e peppe was the best dish we had. Eggplant was very good too.
B. K.
Good food, great atmosphere. Service a bit slow and staff not the most helpful.
B. L.
Amazing service, nice neighborhood, great authentic food. They let us occupy a table for a while to complete a meeting prep.
S. T.
Food is nice but service a bit aloof. Good location for a preshow bite but definitely will not go out of my way to go
V. F.
Cosy italian restaurant, tasty, great offer of italian food. Desert wise, tiramisu is not the classic one, but millefoglie is just amazing!
V. K.
Venetian tapas place. It's touristy, but I always had good meals there. Good for before or after theatres
J. P.
Superb Italian tapas. Smart restaurant and excellent service. Great environment for high level business meeting.
