Reviews of Signor Sassi
M. L.
Can't say much about Italian food since I'm not a huge fan, however this place has a nice selection to choose from.
The lobster risotto is tasty and the dishes are all well presented.
Too much dessert choice, which is a good thing! I went for the pistachio cake, but I probably should have tried for the tiramisu.
A. K.
Nice place and very crowded. Was able to get a table on walk-in. Service was good. Truffle rice fried balls were okay. Octopus carpaccio was okay (no photo). Lobster spaghetti was excellent and tasty. The waiter who took the orders didn’t help much during ordering and was in a hurry. The waiter/busboy/server delivering the food was very nice and very helpful and left a good impression.

I’ve been taking pics of this restaurant all the previous times I’ve been in London as I found it highly instagrammable. Yesterday, we decided to simply walk in and try. And I must tell you, it was a great decision.
Lobster risotto was epic.
My carbonara was alrighty (a bit heavy for my taste as I could feel the egg yolk and I don’t prefer it like that, however I get this is the authentic Italian way so I’m not complaining).
The curly pasta with the Ragu sauce was also very tasty.
Favorite part that screamed Italian hospitality was the complimentary bowl of olives and chopped fresh tomatoes with olive oil that would allow you to make your own mini bruschetta as a starter.
On the downsize, place can be a bit loud, but hey, so are Italians, so again, let’s consider this part of the authentic Italian experience.
Overall all loved it.
One small comment: I generally don’t appreciate it when I hear waiters asking “are you gonna leave tip to the guys” and I’ve heard that a lot while people around us were asking for the bill.
Especially when on the actual bill it was already calculated a 12 % tip for the guys. 😬
I’ve faced this in almost every restaurant in London, I just happen to face it quite a lot in this one that’s why I’m mentioning this.
D. A.
One of the best Italian restaurants in London and the oldest… love the vibes … food is super yummy Spaghetti lobster is their signature and best 😍
A. D.
An absolute Italian treat!! Although the place was a bit small, the food was just amazing! Their spaghetti lobster made me think about the sea and the waves with the first bite; if there was ever a perfect seafood spaghetti, this was it. Will definitely come back!
F. S. M.
I have been to many San Carlo restaurants but this has to be my least favourite. The food was jut okay, ambience was not clean, and the staff was extremely loud.
R. L.
My favourite Italian restaurant in Knightsbridge let me tell you why Signor Sassi,
-Food is freshly made
-Menu has a variety deliciously made sea food I don’t see anywhere else in london unique to this place
-The service is amazing and staff are very caring.
I’ve brought many of my business associates here when my office was in Knightsbridge can’t tell after coming here more than 40+ times if I saw anything I didn’t like the whole experience is friendly and cosy
Highly recommend.

Excellent food,a bit late in serving it but anyways.. great atmosphere and decor throughout. Would definitely recommend a visit!
A. B.
We visited Signor Sassi on Friday night and had the best meal for a very long time. The consistency of their impeccable standards, quality of food and very reasonably priced wine exhibits an exemplary delivery of customer care to provide clients with excellence, instilling loyalty to return time and time again. The food was sublime, atmosphere and ambience splendid and it was refreshing to be offered a house wine that is testimony to a great restaurant; easily drinkable, light and fresh. The selection of wines are impressive and also offer some superb vintages. The dining experience serving delectable seasonal and staple dishes are supreme. Staff are always friendly and ensure total satisfaction.
R. A.
Lovely food here, tasty and generous portions of pasta. The deep fried mozzarella starter was delicious. Desserts were great too although I think their savoury food is better. Staff are friendly and warm and we had a great time.
J. C.
We stopped in on the off chance they'd have a table, they made one up for us and were very accommodating. Fantastic service and delicious food. We would visit again
F.
Decent environment and delicious food, been there twice and would definitely recommend to others. Though it’s a bit expensive. The Signor Sassi risotto is a bit greasy... I think they have put too much cream in it.
J. A.
Absolutely delicious. Fabulous service. Good value fantastic quality fine Italian food. The spaghetti lobster was superb and the seafood salad starter was too die for. The best fine Italian food in London.
Z. B.
The ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel like you’re truly sitting in an authentic Italian resto in Rome. It was quite lively on a Thursday night and tough to get a reservation last minute- I recommend calling a day or two in advance!
The service was very lovely - in traditional Italian restaurants, the waiters know best so we let them provide their extended input!
I HIGHLY recommend the brazzoula as an appetizer- the cheese, rocket, and the meat were very tasty!
The zucchini fries were nothing to rave about- simply average, however the truffle pastas and the tagliatere were outstanding. The only bone I had to pick with the resto was that we paid way more than what we received. The portion sizing is terrible and certainly needs to be a bit more generous with adding food when the customer already knows they are over paying.
E. K.
The most delicious Italian restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. I just had a simple dish with pasta and tomato sauce and yet it was perfect. The location is absolutely beautiful as well and the staff is charming I strongly recommend it as the prices aren’t too expensive.
I. t.
I found Signor Sassi by pure accident and sat down to an amazing meal. The level of service was excellent and attention to detail in presentation of meal and to diners needs was excellent. Even the larger tables around mine were seemingly pleasantly well fed and service was beyond the usual flare in a busy restaurant in Brompton Road, Knightsbridge during Saturday lunch.
B. S.
They never disappoint me!
The food is delicious and the vibes are amazing. I guess what made this place special is their staff 🌟
Not our first time, and we will back again and again
J. S.
Stopped off here for Saturday dinner. We hadn't booked but they managed to squeeze 2 of us in at peak time. Food was a bit average, tasty but small portions and quite expensive for what you got. Service felt a bit rushed. We were in and out after 2 courses within an hour. They also like to catch you out with extra charges for water, bread and olives. So make sure to say no if you don't want to be charged stupid prices for a bit of bread and a couple of olives. Probably wouldn't come back again.
A. M.
Absolutely incredible, every dish! The service and vibe were great. Had the large prawn spaghetti and the wife had ravioli, everything was just perfect!
F. H.
Food was good and portions are reasonably generous. The trio pasta is worth trying with 3 different types of pasta decided by the chef.
G. T.
The food was amazing!
The beef tenderloin was one of the best i ever had.
Totally recommend it.
J. O.
£2 cover charge? Come on. Food was average, atmosphere was fine. Service fluctuated depending on who I interacted with. The two Italian waiters upstairs were fairly professional. The door girl did not feel welcoming, could tell she seems stressed with multitasking or smth. I expected more from all the hype.
C. J.
Outstanding Italian restaurant, tucked away near Harrods.
The food is divine and the staff are so sweet.
Look out for seasonal specials which are always gorgeous. There are lots of vegetarian options which is a big plus.
The fettuccine alfredo and the Gorgonzola gnocchi are both incredible - but very rich, so make sure you are hungry!!
You MUST order the panna cotta for pudding because it is simply the best.
We love it here and can’t wait to go back.
K. P.
It was a great place to go with my family. The service was really good only you have to spend a long time there as it is always busy and the service time can change. I ordered a spaghetti that come inside a lobster. IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAD EVER EATEN!! MAKE SURE U GO!!
M. S.
If you're confused about which italian restaurant to go to, think no more. This is one of the most authentic italian restaurants I've been to in London! Super friendly staff, incredible ambience, even better food and the best part is... ITS NOT EXPENSIVE.
I had their pasta and tried their pizza - both were amazing and will definitely be coming back for more!
R. G.
The food is cooked perfectly. However, some of the portions can be very small, (the dish below shows one of the mains) so beware. The food is only decent, considering the price. The main below had a price tag of around £23 - around £4.50 per scallop! Nonetheless, I enjoyed the food.
M. A.
A quality that even exceeds its reputation.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food quality is superb. Tried the lobster spaghetti and the truffle risotto and they were fantastic.
y. o.
I was invited for dinner and I was praying I won't be disappointed as I was hungry... trust me it was a beautiful experience, from the ambience intimate feel of the restaurant to the attentive Italian waiters,to the lovely starters ,awesome wine and the main meals were awesome....we orders 4 types of pasta and all were delicious!!! ,my husband had the grilled sea bass and he said it was very delicious and juicy... we shall definitely be going back! I recommend this restaurant..
A. M.
Nice location, decorations and vibe. This place is little pricey, shrimps are big and tasty, but overall I feel it’s just average and rice is not soft enough for us.
K.
Excellent food. My father is Italian-American and was on a search for a restaurant he ate at in London back in 2009. We couldn't find it so we settled for one with a good rating. Ended up coming to Signor Sassi's. The experience was awesome. The staff was very friendly and helped my dad get a dish close to how is grandmother prepared it when he was a kid. The staff definitely respects privacy and comes if you signal them. Would recommend for anyone who wants an A+ experience.
Best part was the owner came and massaged one of the customer's shoulders and started singing an Italian song from the Godfather. Everyone was laughing. You can tell him and the senior staff are in it to win it.
S.
Delicious , fresh and authentic Italian food. I recommend their calamari, you taste thats its fresh because it doesn't taste like you're chewing on rubber!
L. J.
Great restaurant, great service and really really nice food.
The seating plan not great - limited room, but that's what I like about this place, perfect if I want to take my other half for a nice quite dinner.
The staff make you feel wanted, and they care about the customer, you can ask for recommendation, and the wine list is very good, but not cheap.
U. C.
Delicious minestrone soup and lobster spaghetti. Very attentive staff. Lovely to listen to the staff speaking Italian. Nice and intimate for romantic special occasions.
H. S. G.
Food was good, however I wasn't happy with the price. Cost of sparse salad was £13, which was made up of few cherry tomatoes, lettuce and few slices of mozzarella.
K. B.
Great food, The atmosphere was a bit cramped, loud and chaotic during my visit. I would go back for the lobster spaghetti though.. it's worth it!
L. H.
Highly recommend this restaurant! The one of the most popular dishes is spaghetti lobster, it is tasty and amazing! Also, the wine is great! Friendly and hospitable staff~
J. K.
Really good pasta with a classic ambiente. The staffs were friendly. I can really recommend it to everybody with a good taste.
J. W.
Had a brilliant night here! The food was to die for, the staff were helpful especially with wine selection. I had the lobster spaghetti which was flavoursome and vibrant. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
M. D.
Carbonara is top notch. Antipasto was a bit boring. Was expecting more fun things like octopus or something.
Also was let down by the toilets… they were messy and smelled…
Also the lady in the entrance is not that friendly or attentive.
Other than that it was an amazing experience! Servers were very nice :)
T. M. M.
Good Italian food and ambience, Great customer service..quite pricey oh well it is knightbridge. The mojito could taste a lil better. Overall it was a good one
B. A.
This place does not stop to amaze me. Their food is amazing and they allowed me to come so late at around 11:10 and prepared my food so quickly and it was just as delicious as always. Really love the place and its location and the atmosphere in this place
c.
Nice vibe. Good food! Va bene!
A. S.
I had a reservation for 12:15 and came early (before they even opened). The staff let me in anyway and were extremely polite and kind. I have never felt more welcomed in a restaurant. I haven’t even ordered yet, so I can’t say anything about the food, but I’m sure that it will be great. Many thanks to Gigi, Quirino, Cabra, Marco, Luiggi, Paulo and Rui, really lovely and professional.
d. s.
Really good food, full of flavour. Price is on the higher side but fair given the quality of the food.
Staff could be more attentive, seemed to wait a particularly long time to settle the bill.
G. W.
Had a lovely meal here with my girlfriend. Simple & delicious & the staff were very attentive.
s. s.
Decent environment, delicious food and cool staff, been there many times and would definitely recommend to others.
C. M.
Very friendly staff and nice environment. My friend told me the spaghetti lobster is very nice, so I ordered it, but I didn't find it very impressive coz they don't use lobster sauce, instead, it's just tomato sauce similar to that of the baby clams pasta. The spaghetti is thinner and softer than what we normally get, but it's really nice with the tomato sauce.
I had tiramisu as dessert, and it's so goooooood!! It's softer, doesn't have a very strong coffee flavour, and the toffee sauce complements really well with it, so it's worth a try!!
But mind that there's a cover charge for each person, but I forgot whether it's £2 or £4 per person.
C. O.
Everything was perfect. Very nice place, very nice Italian foods. Gnochi must have
e. s.
I've only ever heard a few people mention this restaurant as its not one of the more well known high end establishments. The few people who have mentioned it all recommend it highly. Signor Sassi was not a dissapointment at all. Some of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The lobster risotto being the stand out dish for me. A really nice intermediate venue, great for couples and families.
z. j.
My first time here. Been hearing a lot on their lobster pasta. It was just ok. Kinda overrated. The ambience is nice.
A. A.
I went there with my sister and she was not hungry so we had to share everything but the staff was not happy about it. Amazing food bud rude waiters.
M. N.
One of the best Italian restaurants in London. We can’t stop talking about the PERFECT time we had. Beautiful in every way. Highly recommend.
C. G.
We were in the private room yet they didn't restrict us to a tiny set menu and offered a wide choice. The food arrived hot and was extremely tasty, I loved my meal. The service was excellent and very friendly. I deducted a star only because the decor of the room was not to my personal taste.
E. b.
The spaghetti carbonara was really good, some of the guests didn't enjoy their dinner as much. The staff is friendly although a bit too flirty with the ladies and can get a bit too much. A bit pricey but not over the top, that was dinner for 5 guests.
S. A.
The food is really delicious 🤤
Friendly staff
However it’s so expensive so be ready to spend around 200£ for 3 persons
K. H. K.
This is a really authentic italian place in central London. Seriously! Another description is unnecessary!
K. A.
The seafood mixed grill dish was amazing!
The space is smaller than I'd have liked, but we made do.
The service was great and the servers were very attentive.
Would recommend!
N. A. P.
Amazing food and service. Would be good if they played soft background music.
L. M.
Superb experience. Service is fantastic. Food is delicious and justifies the high prices. Great wine selection. Quality by all means.
A.
One of my favourite restaurants in London! I love the service! The waiters are so friendly!!! And the food is 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I would definitely recommend!!!
Amazing Italian restaurant!! ( most products are imported from Italy so very authentic Italian food)
P. N.
Gone here for many many years, love the place, still as good as always. 5 Star
A. S.
They prepared veg pasta for me put of their menu, country breads, fresh olives email x we're amazing. Dessert was OK plus the waiting time was a turn off.
R. T.
The oysters and arabiata pasta 👌🏼
J. B.
The service was warm but professional from start to finish. The food was delicious; fillet steak cooked to perfection, fresh oysters, really bold flavours on the bruschetta. Everything that was brought to the table was a winner.
Given a choice of restaurants I would usually avoid Italian because if I'm spending money on dining out then I like the experience to be memorable and a little bit indulgent (which is hard to achieve with a plate of pasta). Signor Sassi is apparently not just any old Italian restaurant though and definitely ticked both boxes. Give it a try.
N.
Very tasty Food specially seafood. Not easy to find if you don't know the area. Expensive.
B. C.
Unbelievable food friendly staff great wine
J. M.
Great service, lovely food, Made me feel right at home thank you.
R. F.
Just finished lunch. It is over 20 years since I was last here. Still amazing food. Highly recommended.
M. D.
A very delicious food nice service with great welcome... Recommended to visit if you in London
P. N. C.
Very nice Italian restaurant near Harrods. You can get fresh seafood with pasta here and you won't regret.
S. F.
It a gorgeous experience, the food is delicious and fabulous ambiance
A. A.
Very tasty food, worth a visit. The portions are just spot on so if you’re hungry, consider ordering a starter/dessert too. The lobster ravioli was delicious and so was the Prosecco. The service could be slightly better in terms of speed and professionalism.
Z. A.
used to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants ,but not anyone the food changed not the same flavors anymore.
N. B.
An amazing experience, we felt like we were eating in a quaint village restaurant in Italy…service was faultless even though they were very busy, best arancini ever, not just a trace of truffle but tons of it….my son ordered the lobster spaghetti which is one of their signature dishes, it didn’t disappoint…they don’t skimp on portion size either…I always find the ratios wrong in most tiramisus but theirs was divine…just can’t wait to go back!!!
B. G.
My favourite Italian restaurant in London.
The lady at the door was super friendly and the rest of the staff really attentive as well.
Food is absolutely delicious!!!
S. A. S.
Great restaurant with a lot of choices
Delicious food 🥘😋
F. A.
Always good Italian food.
M. A. D.
Nice and cozy place, it is the place for original Italian food and Italian experience
Z. D.
Amazing customer service and delicious food. Recommended 🙌🏽
D. K.
Very nice Italian restaurant with great food. Slightly overpriced but at the end location makes it acceptable.
P. C.
Philip Cottrell Spain. This is the only Italian restaurant to visit in London. I have been going for over 20 years now. Fabulous Italian cuisine complemented by an international wine list. Starched white table cloths, friendly waiters in black aprons and superb hosts.
O. L.
Its all about the atmosphere! Excellent food, high quality and tasty! Youre getting what you pay for.
The waiters are super nice and attentive.
Its boujee but not too boujee.
M. A.
Excellent service 👏
Authentic Italian food my favorite in London
I will recommend anyone who wants to eat good Italian foods. Well done to professional and welcoming staff.
R. M.
The food was very good..
The location is perfect.
L. A.
Wonderful Italian restaurant, always enjoy my time at Signor Sassi.
L. T.
The staff absolutely made me laugh when having dinner there. Super cosy environment with staff with great sense of humour. Most importantly, they have the best spaghetti lobster there. Definitely going there again and again after this pandemic.
A. N.
The atmosphere is nice, pasta and meat dishes are amazing. They are cooked perfect and taste delicious. However, I would avoid the sea food. I had the halibut it was too oily, couldn’t even finish the meal. Other than that all in all it was great.
S. L.
The food was nice but the service was lacking. The guy who served us was very cold towards us . The younger person who brought our food was very nice. The oldies italian man have a very attitude .
K. N.
Great Italian food. Nice atmosphere and excellent location.
J.
Amazing Italian dishes using the freshest produce and top quality ingredient!! Highly recommended!!
J. O.
The most authentic Italian food I've eaten in years!
Brilliant yummy Italian food.
We had ordered 3 courses and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. I particularly loved my lobster spaghetti, it was well seasoned and tasty.
Good service. Staff were pleasant and they didn't kick us out after dining there for 3.5 hours. Such a lovely cosy ambiance, we didn't want to leave :-).
10 out of 10.
We'll be back!
M. M.
Upscale Italian restaurant. Excellent food & service.
A. M.
Good service, but the food was very average.
M. M.
Fabulous food, great service, intimate setting. Wonderful date night.
E. A.
The food is the Best Italian food I ever had. The service is impeccable, I would give a 10 star to this restaurant. Highly recommended it.
C. 1.
Ordered lobster pasta, really disappointed. The food was served 3 minutes or less( I am not exaggerating) after ordering, oh and the bread served was cold and hard as well. The lobster was not fresh, it was soft and cottage cheese like, and it did not tastes like lobster. It's obvious that the food was premade, though there was only four tables of customers. The taste of the pasta was 6/10. The lobster was 2/10. At a price point of 35 GBP, I would expect good lobster, not something that tastes like overnight or frozen. B&L serves top notch lobster.
a.
super Italian restaurant. lively and buzzy, yet friendly. Visited as a group of 5 and we never felt pressured, but service was quick too. spaghetti lobster (main) and grilled avocado (side) were 2 standout dishes, but we had 5 happy people, all food was excellent. Recommended.
K. R.
Great food, good vibe.
S. M.
Very nice diner at this cosy Italian restaurant! Spaghetti Lobster was delicious 👌🏼
g. m.
Good eating experience in all.
A. U.
Hands down my favourite Italian restaurant in London. They're all sorts of new Italian restaurants that keep opening up but none still compare.......
C. T.
Food and service is good. Please do make reservation as the restaurant is crowded.
B. T.
Ok service, food is tasty. Quite busy atmosphere.
Ä.
Fantastic Italian restaurant with traditional foods, staff and service lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Could be a bit cheaper but thats the price for this service ajd quality
s. m.
One of the best Italian restaurants in London
m. V. 6.
The spaghetti lobster is the besssst
Arancini so good
E. B.
What a great place. We ran into it while hiding from the rain, and found it by accident. However, this place serves the best pasta I've had in my whole life. Good nice wines, amazing homemade deserts and incredibly lovely staff. The Italian charm is on full blast.
م. ب. خ.
Staff are very friendly, helpful and service is extremely fast. You don’t have wait very long for any of your orders because the their kitchens work very well. But one of their pasta meals came quick and so parts of it was under cooked. The dessert were very nice. The place is always busy so you need to make a reservation for a table.
S. C.
Excellent Italian food in London. We just stumbled across the place without knowing of its excellent, well-deserved reputation. The pasta was fresh and the sauces were delicious. Between the three of us, we each had a different pasta and sauce - spicy Italian sausage, cheese and spinach ravioli with Aurora sauce, and spaghetti pomodoro. Each was wonderful.
T. H.
Authentic Italian cuisine and nice atmosphere. I like this place so much, not just because of the amazing food, but also the good service. The waiting staff has always been friendly and attentive. I would visit them more often and enjoy their fine wines.
t. a.
Lovely...I enjoyed my meal
a. a.
First time here, but sure will come back again when in London.
S. A. C.
Great food, great wine and friendly staff!
S.
Very delicious food, nice atmosphere
E. H.
I visit this quiet, cozy restaurant quite often. For me two things are important - best quality of the food and quick service. This is the perfect place for me.
The fabulous pasta, bread and bottle of red wine do make you feel like you're in a small Italian restaurant.
The venue left me satisfied all the time. The atmosphere is nice with wonderful Italian music.
I'd definitely recommend to my friends.
A. D.
We went there without reservation but got a table within ten minutes. They offered us olives and cheese with a pint of beer while waiting for our table. We ordered a couple of starters and 3 main dishes (pasta, tuna steak and fried squids). Plus three desserts (ice creams and cheesecake). I have had better Italian food here in London. But it’s definitely a very typical Italian restaurant. Good service and friendly staff.
S. W.
So good I've booked to come back on Saturday!
D. S.
Great Italian restaurant in the heart of Knightsbridge.
Very busy and lots of covers; maybe too many if you’re looking for a quiet, private conversation.
Despite attracting lots of tourists, the service and quality of food are excellent. The Spaghetti Lobster was devoured with relish - although left little room for more food. All of the portion sizes looked generous! Despite its location wine was reasonably priced too.
Great location for lunch - to regain energy for more shopping! Open all day, I believe.
F. A.
I suppose 4 stars can be given for the food but the taste dose not justify the price. The setting is good yet the service feels like you are on the conveyor belt in a factory, sit, food ready in 2 mins, eat and get out please, they are not saying it but it certainly feels like it ..
D. G. S.
Probably the best Italian food outside Italy. I live in Italy and have known SS's since 1990
A. D.
This place is great! The food and drinks are great...but even more so the service is awesome. I have actually ended up here twice recently in a short amount of time, and both times I have been very impressed. The group I was with had numerous dietary restrictions (food allergies) and the servers we had were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The gluten free options are great and it's very nice to have servers who don't make you feel bad for asking a billion questions about the menus/potential allergens. Everything I tasted (burger, butchers plate, nachos, beer, cider) was delicious.
I will definitely go back!
M. A. T.
We used to have a family dinner every time we’ve been in London. Excellent atmosphere and location and they have the best Italian seafood dishes. My fav dish is the lobster spaghetti so delicious with a touch of a chilli flakes. Highly recommended !
A. S.
The pasta is soooo good! Everything is delicious. They even give you free bread (authenticity of cuisine: +1) the service is meh but not bad or good enough to call them out. You def pay for the quality you get, so if you want good Italian, go here! You won’t be disappointed.
T. A.
Amazing food with great service. There are many food options and therefore something for everyone's taste. The restaurant was busy yet the waiters were all courteous and friendly. I couldn't fault anything at all. Thank you to all the staff and I will be looking forward to coming back soon
L. T.
Best Italian food ever. Completely love this place. Wonderful service and always a great atmosphere. I have been here 3 times and am always happy to come back. Very cosy and warm in winter too ☺️
S. J.
This is a very well-established Italian restaurant for good reason. The food is absolutely fantastic, the crab and lobster being exceptional. A very extensive menu which will have something for every pallet!
D. K.
Overall good if pricey. The lobster pasta is not worth it - the lobster was very tough. In general, very good food though.
The pasta fagioli soup is utterly ridiculous - must have.
I. R.
Top, top restaurant. Brilliant food from a very enticing menu. Relatively small and tables are tucked closely together which creates a buzzy atmosphere. The staff are super welcoming. Highly recommended.
N. C.
Great food and lovely staff
A.
Signor Sassi is one of those Italian restaurants abroad, which is aimed by tourists and those who do not know very well the authentic Italian cuisine.
The restaurant is nice and well located, the quality of the food is acceptable and the service is not very dedicated. the restaurant is probably overrated.
H. A.
Signor Sassi is a must visit when going to London. You will find the same quality same welcoming to the customers. We have ordered the spaghetti lobster which is delicious, risotto, caprese salad. The portion are good for sharing. They have olives they bring when you arrive I consider the best, they bring two types black and green green is a bit spicy but you cannot stop eating. You must make reservations if you do so you can ask for the ground floor as the stairs are tight a bit.
Thanks

This place can be the best Italian food I experienced in London. Pricing is fair for drinks and mains; however, the starters are a little bit expensive. Despite the high price, I wouldn't recommend to skip starters because all the food they serve is great. Even though we ate a lot, we didn't feel bad because they cook their food with the best olive oil for sure. By the way, the big olives that are served free of charge are great. If they forget to bring, don't forget to ask for it. The Italian originated staff is too cheerful so that you may ask yourself if you are actually in Italy or London. :)

Extraordinary food, friendly staff, beautiful italian atmosphere. Definitely we’ll come back
M. C.
What a super Italian experiance best steak I ever had tasty too give it a go if you live in or near knightsbridge
P. T.
Atmospheric Italian with good menu choices
C. B.
The place is very nice, I thought I would pay a lot and getting little but I was wrong. They came with antipasti which I didn't order and it was nice! Service and food were great. I can't complain, always ready to be helpful.
O. H.
1) Pasta was hard.
2) lobster soup had only one piece of lobster
3) Penne arbiata was nice (pasta was hard)
4) AC was out of order the area we were sitting. It was really hot.
5) the atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly.
R. J.
The best Italian restaurant in the area. The decor is really classy and stylish. Not too far from Harrods and Harvey Nicks. Perfect place to get some good authentiic Italian food after shopping all day long. The spaghetti lobster is without a doubt my favourite dish on the menu.
P. W.
Went here with some work colleagues fairly late after an evening event but it was still bustling and busy. I had the turbot which was brought out then taken away to be filleted, a touch overdone but the accompanying langoustine sauce was really excellent. Service was good and I would like to return to try more of the menu.
T. P.
Gorgeous lunch in a pleasant spot in Knightsbridge. Food was a solid 10/10 and the service from the waiters was spot on, wouldn’t even let us lift the bottle of water to fill our own glasses up! Definitely go back next time in London.
N. G.
The food is delicious and the service excellent. Just few tables on a hidden corner off Knightsbridge. Good wine list at honest prices. Only low point: could be a little noisy depending on the crowd there.
C. R.
Great food, passionate serving staff prone to burst into song at any moment. Ask for their lobster pasta which is off menu but is delectable. Rest of the menu is made up of traditional italian dishes but done to perfection. Bon appetit!
R. C.
Signor Sassi is an established name in the Italian cuisine scene in London. It is located in the heart of Knightsbridge near Harrod's.
The food here is simply splendid. The calamari is possibly the best I have ever had. It is so fresh and it simply melts in your mouth like butter on a hot pan. The signature Signor Sassi dish is the unforgettable Spaghetti Lobster, a rich tomato-based spaghetti (more like spaghettini) with chunks of luscious lobster. Simply divine!
Only thing is that it is very expensive to dine here and even dining here solo racks up an extravagant bill but I can assure you that it does not disappoint. A very good restaurant to come and celebrate special occasions!
N. M.
Personally think it's super overrated with all the hype. The service was VERY mediocre and food not anything outstanding. Appreciate the wine list being all Italian but no exceptional labels either. Overall does not live up to the name unfortunately.
E. P.
The pasta is good, the place looks old and authentic, but the price is too high. Really expensive (including the wine, I had to go for the cheapest "home wine" bottle).
T. L.
Great Great restaurant, love the atmosphere and when you can get in you can’t wait to come back. Regular using this venue for family occasions as well as corporate use as it’s a real must go...
S. G. (. G.
I loved it! The food was very good and the waiter was sensational. We even got a bowl of olives and a plate full of provolone cheese
T. H.
Wonderful Hidden Gem. Felt like I was in the Lady N Tramp movie lol Singing Italian Waiters! Amazing voices and of course Delicious Food!! Check it out
A. M.
Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my main course. I put three stars as my starter was superb! It came served in a crab shell. However, my pasta was so very al dente that it was chewy and got stuck in my teeth! I had to send it back but when they bought it back out again there was no difference, it was just a lot hotter. Think they may have just put it in the microwave. The red one we had was beautiful. My friend had the lamb chops which he said was perfection. I wouldn't get a pasta there again, which is crazy seeing as it's an Italian restaurant and I'm half Italian myself!!
J. C.
This is one cosy restaurant, the interior is nice and the atmosphere is welcoming.
For me it was love at first sight. I met my first girlfriend at such beautiful Italian restaurant, when I was on holiday in Italy. I haven't seen her for years, but I Signor Sassi reminds me of her and our dates a lot.
So, straight to the point - Their meals are tasty. But not so cheap.
Personally speaking.. I don't like the pasta so much. However, I could strongly recommend the Avocado Bernado with lobster and prawns.
Also, don't forget to try the offered mussels. They are like small pieces of heaven, covered with rosemary, cherry tomatoes and hints of garlic. With every bite you can feel the unique Mediterranean authentic flavours.
G. J.
Stefano and Jeremey were lovely hosts
Very reasonably priced - thoroughly enjoyed myself
S. W.
Beautiful décor, delicious food, and a really authentic Italian feel.
The lower staff were attentive but due to our casual clothing I feel that we were given less attention and respect by the main waitstaff. An extra chair was added to our table (reason unknown) and the Maître D leant on the back of my chair to speak to a table behind me when he could have walked round.
Overall I feel it was an impersonal experience which marred what could have been a delightful meal.
K.
The restaurant is meh, nothing special really.
The waiter/owner (I don't know what the old man really is), but he is annoying, he start singing loudly all of a sudden, and he made us very uncomfortable.
They even charged us for the cover sheets (£4), I mean it is not a lot, but I have never in my life seen a restaurant charge us for such charges.
A. A.
True flavor of Italian food
M. L.
This was dads favourite restaurant and I can’t we why. Delicious authentic Italian
Can’t wait to go back
W. T.
Good service. Nice west end Italian. Good variety for most tastes and budgets. Money not too silly but can go large if you want to
W. N.
Good foods.....popular restaurant and always crowded. The restaurant is too small and tables are so close to one anothers. The service is just OK. Some staffs are big mouth and impolite when you didn't order a full course menu plus wine !!!!. No peaceful moment at all.
f.
Proper authentic Italian restaurant in London. The crowd is mature. No music playing. Ambience is nice. Good selection of wines even though, when I was there, they where out of Ripasso.
A. d. W.
Brilliant gem in Covent Garden. Great vibe and the tapas style food is a great way to taste a variety of great Italian dishes. I’m a regular and love taking visitors to London there.
w. A.
Unforgettable experience, the spaghetti with lobster is their best dish, if you go to London, it is a must to visit this restaurant, amazing Italian staff and food, avoid going when Italy or an Italian team plays an important match, as the staff won't be in a situation to give attention to anything but the match...lol
R. T.
Excellent authentic Italian food. Garganelli Salsiccia e Porcini was awesome - I really enjoyed it and the products from which it was made were of the highest quality. The staff was friendly and very high trained so everything was classy. This is a great place to go on a date or just to enjoy a meal alone or with friends.
B. L. F. &. C.
Restaurant is absolutely faultless. Been coming here with my family for over 10 years and we have never had a bad meal.
Excellent service
Fantastic food
10/10.
H. M.
Absolutely loved the vibe, the food - the lobster pasta was delicious (and I’m not a big fan of lobster), and of course let’s not forget the wine. Will make it a regular occasion when next in London.
B. T.
Above average food, tiramisu has no rum, service not as welcoming. Although this restaurant has been frequented by famous ppl you see on newspaper and magazines
d. w.
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! The best pasta ever, my first time here, certainly not my last. I would happily eat anything the chef would make for me.
M. B.
Epic. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great price point. An institution, a destination, a must. This is old school Italian. This is how its done. Thank you for being true to who you are.
C. Z.
An venerable old Institution of Italian dining in Knightsbridge. Pictures of famous clients litter the walls while white jacketed waiters deliver gorgeous plates of pasta - they are renown for their Lobster Tagliatelle . China seems to have discovered the restaurant as 1/3rd of the restaurant seemed to be filled by Chinese on my last visit there but it's old clients continue to get treated like family
S. N.
Very nice Lobster main. Beautiful decor.
G. M.
Great traditional Italian restaurant with a dense selection of food on the menu. We had a group of 12 people and our food arrived before we could finish the bottle of wine.
M. A. S.
Lovely place, tasty dishes
K. Q.
If u want real authentic delicious Italian food in London, then this is the place to be. You have to get the lobster for sure. Just watch out not to bite your fingers.
J. C.
I have ordered takeaway from here. Pasta with shrimp and scallop, not particular impress though
R. A.
My recommendations: penne arabiata was the best and spagetti lobester.
e. s.
It was lovely to be in a proper Italian restaurant O'mamma mia the food was excellent
A. D.
This is my go to Italian Resturant when I’m in the city, great wine list, amazing service and most of all, food is delicious, simple and just how Italian food should be made!
5 of the best
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
C. T.
Really good restaurant, service, and food. Free bread, cheese, and olives before the meal. Ordered Tri-Pasta it was very delicious. The tomato or maybe meat sauce was amazing.
M. F.
Signor Sassi is a classic in this part of London, a favourite of the famous and celebrities. But besides the fact that it can be very difficult to get a table, the key fact is THE FOOD IS AMAZING!
Very friendly service.
Difficult to chose, but my current favourite is the Risotto Sassi.
M. K.
Food is good, service is ok. I just find them a bit rude when taking a reservation. Overall a good Italian restaurant but nothing wow.
I. B.
This hotel has excellent service and great staffs. We stayed here for two nights and it was one of my great experience. We had our 3 year old with us and even he love'd it too. It was nice that we chose this hotel over the others.
А. И.
"Signor Sassi" is my favourite Italian restaurant in London. There's incredible atmosphere, amazing team and fantastic food. That's "must have ". I recommend it!
K. K.
Damn, hats off to the chef. Delicious and not over the top. Perfect Italian🙌🏻
V. J.
Been here many times. Has been labelled as “touristy” but a firm favourite with the locals as well. Dine here whenever I am in London. Love the carpaccio and the tiramisu. In between... who cares! 😉
S. A.
Family style brilliant Italian cuisine. Always smiling and always trust worthy. Been around for many years and always busy.
A. B.
Delicious food, worth a visit.
H. C.
I don't think I have ever enjoyed a dinner as this. Everything was perfect. The food, the service, the drinks.. EVERYTHING.. It was a bit expensive I do agree but honestly speaking worth every pence spent. Simply magnetic.
P. N.
I will go to this restaurant soon, because my opinion about it is positive.
You should try the Avocado Bernado with lobster and prawns. Also I can recommend you the Cozze e Vongole with mussels and white wine and cherry tomatoes. Unfortunately, the only negative thing- the prices are high for me.
F. A.
I suppose 4 stars can be given for the food but the taste dose not justify the price. The setting is good yet the service feels like you are on the conveyor belt in a factory, sit, food ready in 2 mins, eat and get out please, they are not saying it but it certainly feels like it ..
H. C.
I don't think I have ever enjoyed a dinner as this. Everything was perfect. The food, the service, the drinks.. EVERYTHING.. It was a bit expensive I do agree but honestly speaking worth every pence spent. Simply magnetic.

This place is great! The food and drinks are great...but even more so the service is awesome. I have actually ended up here twice recently in a short amount of time, and both times I have been very impressed. The group I was with had …

An amazing buzz and always busy! Food and service is wonderful
K.
Very good food, a bit on the expensive side. Great classical dish of lobster with spaghetti. Good service but Resturant can get busy and noisy
E. T.
Starters were just average, main course was good, but really nothing exceptional. Service was definitely brutal and below average. Not a bad place, but for what we paid in the end, this was definitely not a good value for the price.
Y. B.
Italian restaurants, I have tried the lobster spaghetti and it was nice. It is recommended to visit if you are near the harrods and looking for Italian food

very small restaurant that is overcrowded. felt like we were going through a maze to get to the table. couldn't leave the restaurant nor could anyone enter as there was a bottle neck with the coat check...must walk through closet space to get to or from restaurant.
