Reviews of Tasting Italy - Italian Restaurant
m. a.
Italian restaurant just away from Piccadilly seemingly run by Italians with wuite a clientel of Italians. Great food, decent portion sizes and, for central London, not bad value. Service was very good.

A superb Italian meal in warm surroundings. The table service could not be bettered and the tiramisu was the most delicious I've ever eaten! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
M. A.
Tried this for the first time. We had penne pesto pasta will besil and focaccia and loved it. Would really recommend it. The prices are reasonable especially with it being in Piccadilly Circus.

Lucky to have tried this place before the worldwide lockdown. To us, the best Italian place in London. The pasta was superb, the staff friendly and very accommodating. The premises are beyond cosy and lovely and the interior evokes such light airy prettiness what with their (I believe to be) hand painted tiles and decor.

In London for a week, this was one of the best places we ate!!! My pizza was one of the best I’ve ever eaten, and I eat a lot of pizza. The wait staff was splendid, and I loved every moment of being there.

Had a pre-theatre meal. We had veal an d pasta and house wine. It was served quickly! the staff were attentive. Overall an excellent experience

We were almost put off by some of the other reviews but we both thought the food was excellent. We had two pastas that were both 5/5. Really delicious. The service though, was very slow. Took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine each time I ordered one. had to remind the waitresses more than once. Then our pre-made desserts took another 15 minutes when they just had to be fetched from the counter. We would return for the food though!

We had a lovely family meal to celebrate my husband's 60th before heading to the theatre. The service was friendly, food excellent and the price was reasonable. They even rustled up a small something for dessert for my husband's birthday!

Sicilian food restaurant.
I was reccomend this place by a good friend of mine.
The expectation was really high and I was quite disappointed.
The food is good, not excellent.
The environment could be much better, and for the price paid I can say it was not worth it.
Shame.because there is a lot of potential there.

Such a wonderful place it is!
Ambiance is simple and cute.
We were looking for a good place to eat on a busy 31st December eve and found this place.
We didn’t have reservations still they accommodated us.
The service was good.
Food was super tasty.
Though I forgot the names but we have ordered a potato starter and a pasta.
Both were delicious.
Should give a special mention to the washrooms as they were sparking clean.
They made a happy New Year’s Eve even more happier.

The best Italian food we've experienced in London! Excellent service, great location and superb food makes this little Italian restaurant a must stop on your list! Five stars is not enough!

What a find! Friendly, family run Italian restaurant. Food was very tasty and good value. Highly recommend the calamari. I went mainstream with the lasagne and it was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. We had 3 courses - the tiramisu was amazing. Accompanied with a bottle of the house red and finished off with a Disorrano Latte and a really lovely chat with the owner's daughter. Highly recommended for a visit if you want authentic, not commercialised, tasty Italian food.

Me and my partner travelled from Liverpool to London for the weekend, we are Italian food enthusiasts, I myself had the lasagne and it was the BEST lasagne I’ve ever tasted, I partner had the slow cooked beef Ragu with tagatelli and he said it was amazing, great service from the waiters. Especially a older lady who greeted us and took care of us, HIGHLY RECOMEND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR HIGH QUALITY AMAZING TASTING FOOD !!

Had a wonderful time hosting my birthday party here last year. Here're a few pictures we took before the party kicked off, with a few early arrivals and the restaurant's staff. I have had dinner at this restaurant before, and it was a surprise-find when my cameraman and I were looking for a place to grab something to eat, after an event. I am so glad to have discovered this place. I would highly recommend this place to everyone who appreciates good food without the pretentiousness and ridiculous price tags they come with, in London's West End. Great value for money and the quality of food, and the service is perfect.

If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience then you have to try here! The food and atmosphere is superb! Tucked off the main road so you’re away from the bustling tourism of Piccadilly Circus!

Yesterday I had the pleasure to have lunch at this great place. The restaurant is nicely decorated and as soon as I came in, the staff was very welcoming and nice. I chose to have pasta "matriciana" and I must say it was delicious, one of the best "matricianas" I have ever had (bear in mind I am italian, so I tried many). I will defintely come back and reccommend to anyone who wants to have a real taste of italian food.

Perfect place after a little walk from Leicester Square station.
Great place with friendly atmosphere. Suits everyone whether it’s a couple, groups or families.
You get a pasta menu when you sit down so if you want pizzas ask for the pizza menu from the waitress.
Great food and drinks. I’d visit again.

Finding somewhere to enjoy a good southern Italian meal a stones throw from Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus is not easy. We had great arancini, veal and gnocchi and finished with tiramisu and cannoli. We will be back to sample the rest of the menu.

This is a hidden gem. Great traditional Sicilian dishes. Superbly fresh seafood. Top Sicilian wines. Friendly service. Good value for Money at a top location.

Not a great experience to be honest about it, all 5 of the plates meat was good but thats about it,over cooked veg, overcooked pasta . Cold steak🤨 definitely first and last time
A. C. C.
Tasty Sicilian food. Would have loved to have some fresh fish, but what I had was really good.
S. Y. S.
The food was really good and tasty. The service was also really nice. I will definitely have food here in the near future 😁

Had a very good lunch in this very friendly restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was good.

We had dinner here after spending the day in London. They were very welcoming and we were seated immediately. The food was great and they had a children's menu which was great for my nieces. Would definitely return here.

Very nice, very peaceful inside and staff are very nice. Portions are not so big however very nice so still worth the price.

Tasting Sicily - Enzo's Kitchen by Enzo Olivieri Chef, is the temple of the authentic and innovative Sicilian cuisine in the heart of London (close to Piccadilly). The restaurant - furnished in a elegant and sophisticated style - offers an original and generous menù à la carte of the most typical Sicilian dishes made with the high quality of the ingredients carefully selected by small local producers and assembled, by Enzo Olivieri Chef, in innovative recipes with contemporary flavor, preferring the naturalness and genuineness of raw materials of the traditional Sicilian taste.

Lovely Italian restaurant. Delicious broccoli pasta and rose wine and it's beautifully decorated
R. g.
Pasta was delicious! staff were very nice and all italian... the desert was average
A. C.
Lovely little place, clean and comfortable restaurant and friendly staff, especially since it was Christmas Day.
L. A.
Nice restaurant not been open long. Good food abd service and not to pricey for west end.
L. M.
A cozy and authentic place where you can find Sicilian food in London
R. C.
Really nice food and great gin and tonic. Perfect venue before the Theatre.
L. K.
Try the chef Special with Sole and Salmon, it's delicious, as are the desserts!
A. Y.
Smells like old people, older people do go here. Not the best Italian, but not the worst.
J. L.
Excellent service from a very friendly team and excellent food to go along side this.
Will be returning!

A truly excellent, authentic Sicilian restaurant that's been a welcome addition to London's West End restaurant scene, and has been making its mark both with pre-theatre patrons, and those looking for a more relaxed dining experience. They will not be disappointed.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the decor is fresh and bright. The menu is a joy for jaded palates, offering a super taste of Sicilian cuisine to a consistently high standard... and with sometimes surprising taste and flavour combinations that will nourish your tummies... and maybe your souls too, if you need a bit of a lift. Beautifully presented too.
There's also an excellent choice of local wines to accompany the fare, and at a range of prices to suit all budgets. Good for dining 'a deux' or for groups of friends. I've been back a few times now - bet you will too!
R. D.
Great little Sicilian restaurant just off Leicester Square, and a breath of fresh air, really nice authentic food, great desserts. Wine was nice too and they have Messina bottled lager which was the icing on the cake.
Great for the theatre too which is opposite. Recommended.

REALLY good, fast service, nice mood and very nice staff. I recommend

Excellent food and service, 3 of us came here on a cold January day. The place is very clean and bright which warmed us up immediately :-). Good quick service, had 2 pasta and a steak and desert with wine and beer for a reasonable price. Very friendly and knowledgeable waiters, and a fabulous choice of Sicilian food, a great find in a quiet location in central London

Was in London for a show on Sat 16th March. We were looking for somewhere to eat beforehand. Stumbled across this place. Really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was very nice and staff friendly. The only complaint was we asked for the bill but they took so long coming over so we could actually pay it, that we had to go up to the counter and remind them we wanted to pay!
E. P.
I stumbled on this while walking through the back streets to Charing Cross station. And I was very pleased I did. First impressions were good; lots of Italian voices at the bar, both clients and staff. The food did not disappoint with many interesting and uncommon dishes.
S. L.
Meh food, service was adequate wouldn't go her if you wanted really nice food I feel there are plenty of better places. Although the food is okay there is no reason to avoid the place just for the area there are some better choices. However, must be said they have a vast array of wines so there is that. Service is good so no worries there good place if you want to eat in a pinch.

A slice of Italian hospitality in the heart of Mayfair! If you haven't been, you must go. Trust me, you'll love it.
They even prepared a special dish that wasn't on the menu, for me. One felt rather important!
My friend Iain also enjoyed his meal. We strongly recommend this place if you're looking for a non-pretentious, friendly place with great service and brilliant food! Can't wait to go back. I love the simple yet interesting interiors and décor too.

Of your looking for a decent Sicilian place in London. Highly recommended to visit to get a taste of South of Italy

One of our favorite restaurants in London. Five months ago we were looking for a place to eat lunch near my fiancées office when we stumbled upon Enzo’s Kitchen. We had such a great experience we’ve made it our go to lunch spot in London. The food is delicious. The staff is welcoming and extremely helpful with the menu. The restaurant is nicely decorated without being overdone. Looking forward to returning this Spring.
B. Y.
Swift and friendly service, food is superb. We visited Sicily earlier this year and the authentic dishes and flavours at Enzo's Kitchen took us straight back to Taormina. Looking forward to eating there again.

Went for a light(ish) Sunday lunch, I knew it was going to be good when I realised most of the clientele were Italian! I was right. Great Sicilian food, GF options were no trouble, certain other establishments could learn a lot about GF food from the Italians. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Loved the decor, sorry should have taken a picture. Wasn't the cheapest but considering where it was it wasn't too bad.

Probably one of the best italian restaurant in town.
Food and wine reflect the tradition of just one region Sicily.
I loved every single dish we tried almost everything because I went with 10 friends.
Price including wine was 35-40 £ per person
The service could be faster
Definitely I will came back!

It was late, i was waiting for the bus and I needed the loo and we managed to sneak into what was a private event. Not only they let me use the wc but when we asked for two glasses of red it was on the house! I decided to go and try their food a couple of months after and I must say it is one of the most refined Sicilian restaurants that I came across here in London! High standard service, great wine list and good quality of authentic Italian food!
T. C.
The food was amazing. As it is Sicily cuisine, it tastes differently from the other Italian restaurants in London. I especially love Cannoli - the typical Sicily dessert. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern. I absolutely love it. Will definitely go back again.
A. T.
It's just ok. Enzo's Kitchen was part of my dinner and show package. So the menu is different to the main menu. You get one choice starter which was veg soup. Two choice main, I had salmon, potatoes and veg. One choice desert, panna cotta which was so thick and solid. Staff were friendly but looked flustered with each other. Most meals left not finished.

Delightful, small, cozy, friendly this is an authentic Sicilian Resturant. Not to be missed if your looking for something close to Haymarket or the London theatre district.
The food is fresh, the pasta outstanding, good Sicilian wine list, reasonable priced. I enjoy Italian food in London and I always make time for this spot, it reminds me of my grandmother, with happy Italian voices surrounded you at no additional charge.

Great staff. Disagree with reviews. They are all from Sicily so of course English is not their favourite language. Staff are friendly. In a central location so lots of tourist expecting fast service but if you have been around Europe then you would know they don't serve fast. All worth it in my books.
C. H.
Excellent place with a real sense of Sicily. Fabulous food but it is pricey: 2 mains and 2 pints of lager set me back £62 once you account for service charge etc. Beautiful setting and it is right by Piccadilly / Haymarket. Recommended but be mindful of prices.

After eating here with my girlfriend a few times (and enjoying the food every time very much), I made a reservation for a birthday dinner with friends who visited me in London. Everyone of my eight fellows enjoyed the visit very much and especially the sicilian food was very much appreciated. The staff was very attentive and even served a little birthday cake although I didn't mention the birthday. The only negative point was that you could sometimes feel that the restaurant is relatively new as some procedures didn't work perfectly (the tables were not ready when we arrived). Still, I prefer an authentic restaurant with a few little flaws to a bog-standard restaurant chain.
All in all, this is a very good located restaurant with tasty and authentic sicilian food and a very authentic sicilian ambience. My hint for desert: the cannolini :)
C. S.
Excellent experience. I visited this restaurant yesterday evening with my daughter for a pre-theatre dinner. What a wonderful discovery we made! The food and service was wonderful. Best meal in restaurant for a long time. We cannot wait to return. Also good value for money.
E. K.
Authentic Sicilian food. Simple, unique and tasty. Lovely and customer focused waiters who share their passion for their food. Highly recommended to visit and go for the deep fried fish platter and the grill tuna steak or the fried aubergine pasta with smoked ricotta.
A. C.
I liked this authentic Sicilian restaurant. BTW I'm Sicilian! We enjoined the exceptional and traditional dishes such as parmigiana, caponata, involtini di pesce spada and connoli siciliani. Moreover the stuff is very kind. The manager welcomed and served us nicely. Highly recommended!

Nice, but not nice enough for me to return back to within the year. This restaurant is a 'mature toddler' for want of a better description. It has only been open a month or so but felt a little diss-jointed. The food was ok. We had the arancina to start, followed by the Veal in Marsala and finished off with the Modica dark chocolate. We also ordered a side of the caponatina which was served almost too late. As a Sicilian myself, I didn't feel that the taste of some of the food we had was quite up to Sicilian mamma standard but then the chef was sitting in the dinning room at the time of us having our dinner probably having a deservedly night 'off' from the kitchen. The decor was lovely, clean and fresh and made me want to go to Sicily!! Atmosphere felt a little intimidating and a little chaotic even though the dining room was not completely full. Vast wine list and we had the lovely Surya wine. I'm not going to write this place off quite yet as I believe that what we experienced were just teething problems.
E. O.
It is one of the most authentic Italian Restaurants in the hart of London with amesing dishes original and Chef Signature dishes.
Only trying you can believe.
The Service is high standard, but personalized.
Being there is like being in Sicily

This was across the street from the Harold Pinter Theater. The food was authentic Sicilian which means it was prepared differently than my Mom's but still very good. The menu is extensive and I would definitely recommend it!
D. H.
Myself and an old friend met here for lunch before taking the short walk to the Royal Academy of Arts to see the Summer Exhibitions. A very friendly, warm atmosphere headed by Enzo himself, who personally welcomed and seated us. A traditional Sicilian dish of pasta and sardines in a rich tomato sauce. This is a very central and convenient place with good food at affordable prices.
s. p.
The traditional Sicilian pastas were unlike something we had ever eaten before, and absolutely delicious !So refreshing to enter a place and not be able to predict the taste !they are clearly very proud of what they serve and committed to maintaining authenticity , and the difference is there to see , and taste!! Well done !
F. S.
Wonderful food, wine and atmosphere! We were four friends celebrating our encounter when we decided to go to Enzo's - Enzo himself was very solicit when selecting the plates, and his staff was lovely as well! I highly recommend this gem right in the middle of theatreland : )
F. C.
Amazing food and experience! The service is impeccable and the food really tasty. We got there with very short time to eat but they made everything possible to ensure we were out on time, even checking going to the theatre to check when the 3rd call was.
C. D.
We had a very enjoyable evening ! Loved the food and wine and especially meeting Enzo in person who was most welcoming, along with the whole team. The photo gallery of celebrities is impressive !
Thank You for everything 🙏
J. O.
Nice surprise on a busy day in the city centre. Simple and straight Sicilian food. Very good service, surprisingly welcoming and friendly.
I would recommend it for a break at he heart of London.
R. C.
Pasta was pretty good but everything is very overpriced considering the portion sizes. Portions that would cost 6 or 7 quid at a place such as Lina Stores or Padella etc cost £13-18. A cannoli is £7!!
Very little choice of wine by the glass.
Service was pretty curt
E.
I called in advance and spoke to Enzo. Very nice fellow. I collected my Cannoli, and they were amazing. He gave it to me personally and was very polite. Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff and the best Cannoli in London!
