Reviews of Voodoo Ray's - Peckham
F. D. (.
Overall it was a great experience. The environment was simple, clean and very much gave me "New York hangout and music venue" - which is what they were going for (I presume). I absolutely loved the decor which was going for a diner ambience, but contemporary and minimalist. Definitely a lovely hangout spot and for casual dates.
The pizza (their obvs main selling point) was hands down one of the best NY style pizzas I've tried so far in London. It was beautifully made, thin and floppy but with a soft yet crunchy crust. The flavour combos were also pretty well mashed and I truly enjoyed it. We ordered sides but unfortunately, they didn't have any wings available so we settled for the tenders and also had the mac & cheese. Though these were just average at best, with the mac & cheese needing more seasoning (more salt pls). Drinks were also pretty good! Rad looking bar xD
I'll let it slide though because again, the focus is the pizza and environment here. I'd love to come back again during the evening or night-time. It'd be great to experience the venue when there's music and entertainment!
I gave 5 because there's not really and option to give 4.5 (cos of sides, but that's so minor compared to the overall image as mentioned). I'll come back again when I'm around Peckham!!!

Took a group of 5, two vegans, two veggies and a meat eater here. Pizzas were really filling and tasty. Great for people watching by the windows as well.
Pic is a Queen Vegan pizza.

This is the second time I visited Voodoo Ray's in Peckham and now they have 3 vegan pizzas (instead of 1 when I visited a few years ago). Atmosphere and pizzas are great. And I will definitely come back as I love the size of the slices. The pizza El Niño is amazing!
Thank you for offering vegan options!
These are a few things I would change/improve:
1. Frozen Margarita was overly salty, undrinkable. I know the cocktail mix is premade before the restaurant is open, so I would recommend not adding so much salt to the mix.
2. Pizzas were a bit overcooked, maybe consider cooking them a few minutes less. The vegan cheese pizza we had had all crusts completely dark/burnt.
3. It was clear that the staff was overwhelmed when we visited, the waitress had too many tables to attend and the queue for pizzas was huge. An additional waiter/ress would help.

Voodoo Ray's has consistently been among the top pizza I've ever had, even coming from NYC (this is an NYC-style pizza)! It's unbelievable sometimes how good it is – both their vegetarian and meat options (I don't believe I've tried the vegan).
The interior is cozy yet lively, and the outdoor space is always teeming with people. The service has always been friendly as well and the wait time reasonable, about 10 minutes for a 12" pizza.
You can order by the slice or by the pie. Dogs are allowed inside, and they host various performance nights. Currently they have a jazz band play every Sunday starting at 7.

Fast service with friendly staff and a very nice pizza the curly fries was lovely too!

Nice atmosphere to eat out, they also have outdoor seating. You can order a whole or just slices of pizza which is a nice option. My favourite was the options of vegan pizzas and they were delicious with the vegan garlic dip

Tasty pizzas, sizeable area to sit down, friendly staff. Think it's better than their Shoreditch branch, seems a lot better. Pizza is good, lots of choice and good size. Two slices will fill you up!

Newly opened branch in Peckham. They're doing a soft launch until 1st October which includes pizza but no sides. Slices are usually around £4 but since it's 50% off, it means we can order one of every slice to try! The base is thin and crispy. I'm not big on pizza so all I can say is that it's better than Domino's.
Wheelchair access: small step to get in, but it's manageable and they have accessible toilets too.

Excellent pizza it's fresh it's hot the ingredients are premium, base is fluffy and crispy, absolutely brilliant will definitely be going back. The staff serving slices need to stop being shy and shout the order numbers a little louder. 😉👌
