Fantastic Italian restaurant! Authentic food in a relaxed environment. I would say this is one of the best restaurants in Maidstone. So nice to dine in an independent family run restaurant. Great range of starters, mains and desserts. The rustic presentation is nothing amazing but the authentic flavours more than compensate for this. I was also impressed by the drinks menu. Service was friendly, fast and attentive.

Took my partner for a meal for his birthday. He absolutely loved it. The staff are always friendly and smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The food is to die for. There is a lovely atmosphere and certainly will return again.

What a discovery - authentic Italian food here in Maidstone! Our first visit to Vesuvius and it certainly won't be our last. Thank you to Alessandro, his partner and team, who have created something unique in Maidstone. Having enjoyed traveling in Italy, we love Italian food. Vesuvius doesn't only serve fantastic food but the atmosphere inside feels like a little bit of Naples right here on our doorstep. Our food choices included aubergine, seafood, and steak, which were delicious. With the steak, the recommended wine was Gragnano, a sparkling red served chilled, imported from a spot close to the foot of Mt Vesuvius itself. It paired perfectly with the steak - an enjoyable surprise! The dessert menu was another thing too - my wife is a bit of a tiramisu expert, having tried many throughout Italy, and was delighted. For me, the hot dark chocolate pudding with white chocolate inside... Safe to say, we're looking forward to our next visit!

I was also part of the party of 8 last night but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was very nice and the steak was cooked just right. The young waitress was the perfect host and went out of her way to describe the dishes and the choice of drinks on offer. She was a true professional and the owner should be proud of her. I guess it's all down to personal taste.

Five stars is not enough for Vesuvius! It was a revelation. I hadn't realised how much fast-food chains had changed all the restaurants of the UK and made them mechanical and boring. A lot of great people work in them but the atmosphere has gone from all the ones I know except Vesuvius. It was an absolute delight to be somewhere with lovely decor, great food and a warm and welcoming ambiance.

Best pizza I've had since working in Italy over 10 years ago. When it was delivered, it smelled delicious, and I could feel the heat coming off (not like some high street chains) and the cheese was all gooey and unctios, right till the last slice. My son had a pasta dish which he said was also delicious.

What a great personality! The lady that runs front desk at this authentic family run restaurant is the essence of excellent service. Warm, chatty, acute and professional. What about Versuvius itself? The restaurant is large, plenty of seating for large groups. The theme is undeniably Italian from the decor to the music. The menu is expansive offering a recognisable comforting range of popular Italian dishes. All foods were prepared fresh; the bread had bounce too. Quality wasn’t fine dining, more rustic, but still full of Mediterranean zing. An excellent evening, thanks for parting aperitif.

Honestly the most AMAZING MEAL. I rarely leave reviews however I am leaving one while I sit here finishing my dessert as it is that wonderful. Service is excellent. Great place to eat. It’s on the side road from the high street, doesn’t look very fancy, but do not let your eyes play with your mind. Just step inside. Friendly and welcoming local Italian restaurant where food and service were excellent. This place has so much more going for it than the ever-present chains that style themselves as Italian but really aren't. We went for the chicken cacciatora and crespoline agli spinaci. The chicken was tender and moist with plenty of flavour and the crespoline was similarly delicious. There are vegatarian and vegan options available too, if meat and fish aren't your thing. The only change I could think of would be to tweak (maybe subdue?) the lighting a little. It didn't detract from the food but might help create a more intimate atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and two courses plus a couple of beers each came to less than 50 quid for two of us. Definitely recommend this place.

OMG ! What a find this neapolitan restaurant is !! Very poor service. Drinks took a long time coming. Table was for two. Food was delivered on a plate to large for the table. The only way we could eat was to use side plates along side the main dish. Condiments were asked for again & again. Starters finished we waited for them to be cleared which only happened when the main course arrived. We gave up waiting for coffee & cancelled it.

We had a fabulous meal at Vesuvius in Maidstone. We enjoyed our carafe of house white (Trebbiano) and the bruschetta and caprese salad starters were deliciously simple and reasonably priced. The pizzas tasted authentically Italian and fresh - we almost forgot we were in the UK! The service offered by the Italian owner & staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. Such a refreshing change from the cookie-cutter chains with their irritating 'up-sells' and scripted service. Nice limoncello and chocolates topped it off beautifully.
