Very good food music with DJ a bit loud but modern atmosphere, the chairs weren't so comfortable and at some point I could not wait to get outside. You have to scream to speak and always need to repeat yourself. Food is fresh huge portions some items are better than others. Get the seafood spegetti or bolognese and also the focaccia is great. Lots of Italian wines to choose from waiters are really friendly and always somone to offer suggestions. I would go again but be prepared to pay a large bill so maybe watch what you order. Book a table or you won't get in. Everyone dressed well so keep in mind also seems like a young crowd. Worth a visit maybe a special occasion.

Dropped by on the off chance before going to see a show, couldn’t get a table but we were able to eat at the bar which was fine. Great food and friendly service apart from the bouncer who definitely needs a personality transplant, for such a nice place I’m sure there’s no need for such a rude man on the door.

Beautiful restraint unfortunately the service was a little lacking. The waiter took a drinks order at which point we asked for a cocktail menu, he went away and forgot about us. We asked another waiter for said .menu and ordered for one of our party to complete the round, the cocktail came without the other drinks, we mentioned this to the previous waiter who ran off to sort the drinks for us. My son ordered steak but no steak knife when the order came? The overall feel was one of panic. I wasn't going to leave a tip, we usually do even though there is a service charge but my grandson insisted. Calm down and smile.

Nice location. Just off the tram stop at at Peter's Square. The food is nice. Some people are critical of food arriving when it gets ready in turns but I don't mind. I rather would like it that way which they do. The food tastes quite well. Tried the lasagne, beef medallion and seafood spaghetini. Topped it off with dessert. Very authentic Italian. The items are reasonably priced as well. Most dishes cost under a tenner. The only reason it gets four stars is because it asks for a service charge. I'm happy to pay a gratuity but we already pay vat so adding another charge on top of that is annoying. I know it's discretionary but still it's embarrassing telling them to remove it from the bill.

Had very high expectations after going to San Carlo Cicchetti last year. This is good food, but nowhere near the level of Cicchetti. I had spaghetti lobster which was close to £30 for some spaghetti with lobster in a nice tomato/ seafood sauce. The lobster was luke warm, overcooked & had residue encased around it from the steaming process. It wouldn’t have been much more effort to clean it up and glaze with a nice garlic butter or something to make my pasta dish actually worth the £30 I paid for it. Service was admittedly brilliant as was the atmosphere, but next time I will definitely go to Cicchetti and pay that little extra for incredible food. Also, Desserts - please make sure you get the Tiramisu. Such a good portion and incredibly tasty. The amount of coffee in the lady fingers was to die for!

Starting with the positive the food was excellent and the venue was clean and looks great. However the down sides, the service was chaotic every server seems to cover every table and trying to get hold of someone to order drinks, get the bill etc was challenging granted it was busy on the Friday. This also wasn't helped by excessive volume of the music by the DJ just trying to hear someone opposite the table was a challenge. Are you trying to be a restaurant or a night club as it doesn't work trying to be both in my opinion.

The food is ok but the location at present isnt great. Once the new building going up next door is finished the area will look much better. 4 of visited and we had 3 tapa each, plus 6 soft drinks and 2 bottles of beer and 4 coffees,, cost was £149. The 2 final dishes came out 20 min after the previous 11. Very nicely fitted out. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

In for lunch and it was ok... not good enough to justify the price but not poor either. Staff were very attentive albeit a little stuffy, not as relaxing as it should have been but still a solid 3/5.

A little more pricey than other places but the quality is also higher. Dishes are smaller than mains elsewhere and acts almost like a tapas bar except it's Italian food mostly. Recommends on the menu to order 5-6 dishes between 2 people but dishes like pasta and pizza are a lot bigger than some of the other dishes so if you have a couple you only really want 4 dishes between 2. However if you're still hungry you can always order more! Something I found weird is fries came out last but should be one of the fastest things to make. However the food was all exceptional! Servers were really nice, although some of them I struggled to understand because of accents. But I still feel they were all really nice! I will be going back at some point!

I was quite looking forward to visiting Fumo, but it was such an underwhelming experience. No one dish stood out, even though we ordered a range of dishes to share. Despite the food, the ambience is great. The staff are helpful, the decor is stunning. It has a lovely atmosphere and a relaxed, but sophisticated feel.

Fumo is an a lot of ways a modern, upscale dining experience. The ambience and decor of this restaurant makes for a very sophisticated atmosphere. The menu itself is based around small plates, and the amount recommended to order was spot on. The food was rather nice, which is to be expected in a place such as this, however, it was all brought out at once, meaning the last dish eaten at the table was a tad cold. All in all, the whole experience was good, but didn't manage to stand out from the crowd.

I've visited Fumo multiple times before and it has always been lovely. However our last visit was very disappointing. The dishes came out at random spurts. We had to wait for a good half an hour for the first three dishes, then had to wait another 20 minutes for the next two, then a further 10 minutes for the last five. The waitress who served our was lovely but it was so hard to get the attention of any of the floor staff as they just dash around and not make eye contact, especially the manager. Also the kitchen was too slow in cooking the dishes and it ruined the whole experience. I would recommend the lamb chops, roast potatoes and lobster risotto. Hopefully next time they'll be back to their usual standard of service.

Excellent staff and good food but I prefer to choose which course comes when! An excellent lobster ravioli followed by a prawn salad starter is upside down and detracted from both. I do not appreciate paying handsomely to lose control of the basics. Pity.

Went as part of an office outing. The food was amazing, forgot a colleague's order despite another ordering the same. It is a tapas so order an antipasta for every 2 people and 2 or 3 main dishes each. Staff were helpful as most of us hadn't been anywhere similar before. Isn't good for those on a budget.

Food is decent, quite a few dishes aren't cooked on the spot, we could taste that these weren't fresh. Portions are generous for being "cicchetti", and the 50% discount for online booking in the January offer makes out good value for money - I'd rate it as too expensive for what you get with normal price. Decor between quirky and elegant. Our waitress was a delight, another waiter at the upper floor was chatty and singy, possibly an entertainer for non-Italians... but a tad too stereotypical for the taste of Italian customers.

My partner and I visited this place having walked past it many times thinking it looked nice from the outside. The exterior gives the impression that Fumo is an upmarket restaurant but inside doesn't live up to that expectation. The tables are crammed in and even on the weeknight that we visited on the place was full of very large groups and hen-dos. Our order was taken quickly but we weren't expecting our food to arrive literally less then 10 mins later (we'd only been in the place for 15 mins). The menu also doesn't make it particularly clear that the food is tapas style and the waiters offered no guidance on this. We were surprised when all six of our dishes were served at once, had we known we'd have paced our order. The couple next to us made the same mistake and were equally confused. Our whole dining experience lasted less than an hour which felt far too quick and we were disappointed with the chain-restaurant feel of the place. The food was however very good and the wines were lovely.

Went during their 50% off deal this January. Was seated straight away on arrival with the restaurant being about a quarter full. Ordered 6 dishes and some bread as it is Italian tapas so the dishes are fairly small and were for sharing. All food was very tasty and well cooked, a particular highlight was the pizza and the gnocci. My only issue is that we ordered breads but they never came (and they tried to charge us for them on the bill) and they also didn't honour the 50% off until we reminded them despite booking through their website specifically for it! That's why I've knocked a star off!

The restaurant feels much more expensive than it actually is, has a great atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and on the ball. Food is hit and miss, some dishes were exceptional whilst others were served luke warm and lacked any decent flavour. Went tonight prior to going to the theatre, having been to San Carlo and Chicettis Deansgate numerous times was sure that this would be of the same standard, how wrong I was. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was nice but the temperature in the restaurant was very cool. The food was very under seasoned and I had spaghetti carbonara which was dry and stodgy, the plates the food were served on were lukewarm whilst our coffees cappuccino/latte/Americano were tepid at best. Would not go again. Need to standardise the foods with the parent restaurant.

Very nice inside You can eat or just pop in for a drink Little tapas style dishes 2 people would get 5 to 6 dishes Italian restaurant but not all dishes are Italian. We had a steak dish with chilli n garlic which was devine We also had Capone and OMG amazing. If I was to go again I'd get nothing but pizza based dishes. The dough wow just wow. We got water and expected tap water but got bottled. I would have liked the waiter to confirm this option beforehand but I know for next time to be more explicit. Nice place.
