Wonderful low-key restaurant with authentic and delicious food. I can understand why they have won so many awards and accolades. Food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right to talk and catch-up. Amazing value for such a great restaurant and if I was back in the area I would make sure I dropped in.

Lovely food and the two young male and female staff members were lovely. Only downside is that the front door is knackered and won’t shut, when you’re sat next to it in the freezing cold and have to keep shutting it, it’s not a great experience. The waitress kept running to close it behind every time someone went out (when I wasn’t doing it). If the owner has a Tesla and a mi and pho private reg you should be able to spend a few quid on the front door

Amazing dining experience. The menu is easy to understand and choose from even for a first timer. The food is flavourful and fresh. Orders came in pretty quickly and I loved the cosy ambience. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Had an incredible meal here! Beautiful small place with some atmosphere on a Friday night. Had the salt and pepper ribs and wings which were really nice but the mains were something else. The seabass with mango is insane, the pho was great but the star of the show was the braised pork belly, I could have run into the back to give the chef a hug it was immense. BYOB is just the icing on the cake too, allows you to spend some more on having another main or two to share.. We'll most definitely be back, hopefully regularly!

Really really lovely spot! It’s one of the best places I’ve been to period. I particularly love the chilli and lemongrass, and at £7.50 for the tofu version it’s an absolute steal! The spring rolls are also delicious! And it’s always worth a look at the specials board. The stir fried beef is the current favourite of my partner.

Without a doubt one of the best restaurants I've visited in a long, long time. I've visited a few times now and it's almost as if it gets better with each visit. The food is perfect every time. Full of flavour and depth as well as plenty of earthy bases (with certain dishes) that really make for a brilliant food experience. The staff are all very friendly and make sure you're happy without going too far. With a friendly greeting as you arrive to quick and easy service the staff do not disappoint. The value for money is second to none. Unlicenced so take your own drinks with a small corkage to pay on beers and wines. Even after a few bottle of wine and starters and mains for a couple, with tip and a satisfying meal you can expect to pay under the £50 mark. A real gem of a place. I'd recommend to anyone visiting they try the coconut sizzling dish before any other but it's great to have a few things treat yourself to many varieties of such great food.

Been twice in the last month and the food is outstanding service is excellent and the prices are so reasonable if your going to go in the evening you must book because its that busy. Went in the afternoon for a freshly made baguette with grilled pork WOW possibly the best I've ever had and its not so busy in the afternoon well worth a visit.

The Vegan Pho (with tofu and veg broth) was absolutely amazing. Worth the hours drive from where we live to try this place. The staff were all super friendly, it is a brilliant value for money, the decor is beautiful and the food was just delicious. Became my new favourite restaurant after visiting just once! This little gem in West Didsbury prepare the best peanut sauce ever. They have PLENTY of vegan and gluten free options. The place is cozy and tiny, simply decorated bit really warm. The food is fresh and I will recommend to order the coconut water with bites. Absolutely reasonable prices for the quality you get. Order the spring rolls with avocado and dip them in the peanut sauce: you will crave this starter at least once a week, it causes addiction.

The secret Phruit in northenden. In love with MI & Pho. The staff are lovely! The venue is what I want from a really good, food focused local restaurant. It's taverna style. You get a good look at what everyone else gets then can make an informed decision - one of each. Brilliant starter selection. Summer rolls a big hit. The spring roll pastry is the lightest, crispeat nicest I've EVER had. Not heavy. Bloody wonderful. Consequent dishes were just as good.

Visited here a few weeks ago, the food is fantastic. Especially the salt and pepper beef and king prawn starter. The Vietnamese rolls are fresh, fragrant and delicious.. would highly recommend those. The restaurant is cosy, and the staff and service excellent. We were served by the owner who was lovely and couldnt have been more personable, checking if we were ok and happy with the food. The food was served quickly and is really reasonably priced. Added bonus it is bring your own booze, so a cheap night out too. My boyfriend even gave them a nice big tip :) Thank you. We will be back very soon!

Really good reviews and this place had been recommended by friends, food was ok. We ordered a couple of phos, ribs and summer rolls, the pho broth was good and the veg / noodles came separate - however the meat for the phos was quite disappointing (very blad meat, felt like it was bought sliced). Ribs were ok, the summer rolls were good. Very middle of the road takeaway, possibly better meat in the pho and it might have scored higher - average price for the amount of food we received.

What can I say.. Only that this place makes incredible food! We had starters between two and a main each.. Out with a group of 6. They turned off all the lights and all the staff sang happy birthday to my friend! Its a BYOB.. Close to a tesco if you forget! And to top it one of the cheapest restaurant meals I have had in a very long time.. Coming in at £16 each with tip.. You do need to book as it is always busy.. And for gokt reason!

Like the gastronomic philistine that I am, I tend to judge a Vietnamese restaurant on the ready availability and taste of 3 things. Phó, Ban Mi and Vietnamese style coffee. Mi&Pho does what it says on the tin. The fact that it's a stone throw down the road from Didsbury, makes it difficult to resist, even though one has to venture through Northeden. The good news is that many of the locals speak passable English should one venture off the beaten track. The place itself is suitably decorated in a chic Indochine fashion that sets it apart from the local Chinese takeaway. The lack of the 5th star is solely due to the current cash only status of the restaurant. The dash out to find an ATM because one gets carried away in ordering food, detracts from the experience.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Firstly the service is excellent, very friendly and informative staff who are more than happy to explain the menu and recommend dishes that suit your taste! Secondly the food is amazing! The ingredients are so fresh and tastes soooooo good! We've tried several dishes on the menu and nothing had disappointed. Finally the place itself is nicely decorated and has a warm and welcoming feel about it. 5 stars all the way and I can't wait to visit Mi and Pho again. Update: So I just visited tonight with a dear friend to introduce her to my favourite restaurant and it was so disappointing. Firstly felt lots of pressure from the waitress to order drinks, she stood over us until we chose even though I told her e hadn't looked. We had the summer rolls which sadly had very dry pork in and the Peanut sauce tasted very weak, no flavour when it used to be so rich in flavour. The coconut sizzler didn't taste as good either....😥 I don't know if they've changed chefs or recipes but they need to go back to how they were before. Left so disappointed 😞

Lovely restaurant. My Fiancee and I went while the Eat Out to Help Out government scheme was available. Prices are very reasonable even without the 50% off deal. Starters were fantastic, we had the salt and pepper wings and ribs and the pork summer rolls. For main my fiancee had the Bun Sai Gon which was delicious. Unfortunately, I went for the Chicken Bun Ha Noi and was slightly let down. Since the meat comes with plain noodles I would've liked more flavour from the marinated meat but it was a little bland for my taste. Maybe the dish just wasn't for me, but I wouldn't order it again. Service was great though and more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Really nice Coi Quon, delicious. Nice chicken wings, good flavour. I'm sorry but the pork I'm my North style noodle dish wasn't the nicest piece of meat. I couldn't really eat it, it was grizzly and tough. I probably order food from you again but wouldn't order pork again.

Just love this place, food is always excellent, service and staff fantastic , just have to keep going back as love the fresh food. It's been 4 years since I did this review so I haven't been back since Sept 20. I'd missed it so much so invited our friends & went back in Jan 22 but what a disappointment in the quality of the food. The quality of the meat is now all processed & not fresh cut anymore. I'd ordered a chicken dish which I sent back & received pork instead which was not chewable as so fatty so I had to send that back The chicken sizzler dish is no longer served as a sizzler but more like a chicken soup. My friend had the pancake dish but it was just packed full of beansprouts & awful chewy pork. I appreciate it's been a few tough years with closures but to drop the standards of quality is just going to turn customers away as the prices haven't dropped. I'm an honest reviewer & give praise where it's due on my experience, so I have to say I doubt I will be returning sadly.

To echo the overriding consensus of most of the reviewers; this restaurant is excellent! No frills decor, just excellent, tasty, well-cooked food. I have been several times, and the food never disappoints. Very good for vegetarians too. I highly recommend the pancakes with tofu and beansprouts... Brilliant value for money, but as others have said; book a place, as they're very busy. Our last visit was a Wednesday evening, we didn't book as we thought it'd be quiet-after we'd sat down the place filled up and they were turning folk away!

I came here last Sunday with my boyfriends family having never heard of the restaurant before. Such a pleasant surprise and I’ve recommended it to lots of people since.I had salt and pepper tofu to start which was a huge portion and so delicious followed by a tofu curry. The waitress knew exactly which menu items were vegan and which had peanuts in for a member of our party with an allergy.Everyone enjoyed each dish we ordered and I wish I could have tried more but the portions were so big there was no chance. It’s byob but there and a few little shops around to buy wine/beers and the corkage wasn’t at all expensive. Really nice place.

Lovely restaurant, great food. I have been there with a group of friends before and had a brilliant time. Tonight I visited with my family including two young children. I'm not sure if they have high chairs as they never offered one so I let my youngest (nearly two) sit on a normal chair so spent the whole meal trying to keep him still, stop grabbing things from the table! No reflection on the restaurant itself, but just saying it is not as kid friendly as some which provides kids packs etc to keep kids occupied. Next time I will go with friends again!

Food is very tasty but if you order lemonade as a drink you will get weird tasting cordial which is overly sweet. The serving time is so so. 3 of us ordered food at the same time and we received our food with 10 minutes gap.

This was a surprise fund but had a really good time. They allow bringing alcohol from outside. The food is spicy, in the right way, so be careful with how spicy (read hot) you can eat. This is an amazing place to eat. If you're near go eat there. I don't give many places 5 out of 5 but this one is top of my list. The food is fresh , amazing and there is so much of it. I've never managed to finish it all so they put it in a box for me to enjoy at home. They don't sever beer but you can bring your own, costs a £1 to do so, per drink but that's cheap and there are plenty of shops around to buy from. Staff can't do enough for you. Dead helpful. Go to mi and pho , you won't regret it

Went for the first time today. Although the spring roll starters with fantastic, sadly it was the mains that let it down. Although tasty and packing a mouthful of flavour, the quality of the meat was extremely poor. As authentic as it may be, you shouldn't be expected to pay upwards of £10 for a main when majority of the meat consists of fat. The service was otherwise great and the gluten-free options a fantastic. Just a shame that some authenticities are brought into Western restaurants.

Mi &Pho offers great, healthy and tasty food for reasonable price. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you ordered too much you can take it home. Also you can bring your out booze (small corkage applies). They offer take away. The only issue is that the restaurant doesn't have good heating so have a jumper with you.

We just had another meal from Mi & Pho. This time again take away bc COVID. I had the pork Vietnamese curry with fragant rice. Mi wife Pad Thai. First, portions are very generous. Second, my curry was sooo tasty. And you could seriously smell the fragant rice several meters away. All in all excellent. We are already clients already but today is another reason to carry on being one.

We go here a lot. My boyfriend even went Saturday afternoon after watching the footy and ordered himself the same main course he'd had when we went together the night before. I quite often go and eat alone at the breakfast bar when he's watching footy and i want something tastier and healthier than what they serve in the pub. The tofu coconut sizzler is a favourite and a must try. We had the vegetable spring rolls for the first time last week and they were some of the nicest spring rolls I've ever had. Hot and sour soup (tom yum style) really fresh and nice. So glad to have this place on my doorstep.

The food at Mi and Pho is very good! The service, although super friendly could have done better in terms of being more attentive. The food is pretty basic and super nice - I think you would struggle to find a bad dish on the menu! We had starters and mains and every dish was well presented and would definitely eat again. My girlfriend has a nut allergy and we made this very clear to the server taking our order. Along came the starters (summer rolls) with a peanut sauce on the side - COME ON GUYS! Not an issue as was quickly swapped but slightly worrying. As I'm a human dustbin I finished my meal first and although my girlfriend was still eating they asked if we had finished, to which my gf answered no but they started clearing the table anyway... All in all though would definitely go back as had a decent meal at a very good price (beware of corkage fees though - got charged £2 for 1 bottle of beer)

Me and the wife was here and I have to say I was very impressed with the food it was authentic I am saying that because I'm Vietnamese by birth and being here it feels like home again. Aside from the food customer service was very good and the staff were very attentive although the place was quite busy but it did not compromise on the quality of food and service which a lot of other places seems to fall behind during busy times. And for those who have never tried Vietnamese food do not be afraid to ask because even the staff knows more about Vietnamese food that me judging by the way they served the table next to me.

A good solid choice for vietnamese food, but the flavors were just good, but not amazing. There was no depth to the broth the Pho was served in, and rare steak was fully cooked. they have a really wide range to choose from though, and the starters are tasty. Prices really reasonable and friendly staff

Turned up solo without a reservation on a Friday evening. They went out of their way to make room for me and the staff we're exceptionally friendly. Good advice on what dishes to choose and the meal was delicious. Hot and sour soup followed by Chilli and Lemongrass with Roast Duck. No licence but a supermarket almost next door so bring your own

Have eaten here twice and have been really impressed. I had summer prawn rolls and the mi and pho special duck noodles my friend had the salt and pepper prawns followed by a seafood and noodle salad. The food is authentic, fresh and clean with lovely juicy prawns and high quality duck and squid. The portion sizes are really generous, I have a good appetite but was unable to finish my noodles. We had originally ordered the chicken skewers on specials board but we're told there werent any... that's my only tiny complaint! Nice cheerful and helpful staff. Visit! You will not be disappointed!

Plenty of tables had Reservations on arrival. Found us a table and a high chair and we were soon served the best Vietnamese food I've had outside of the country. Beef Special was tasty. Seafood dish was full of Prawns and Squid. Kids had roast chicken on a bed of noodles. Moisest chicken ever. Kids ate every scrap. Home made Lemonade was great. No Alcohol served so bring your own. Oh, and my little 3 year old boy fell in love with the girl serving us, who played along with him throughout. Brilliant experience and very cheap for the quality. Recommended.

You don't usually expect to find a place which serves authentic cuisine in a place where there is no one to verify its quality, but Mi&Pho must be the unexpected and pleasant exception, as the quality of the dishes will satisfy the pallette of the casual visitors, as well as the more discerning clientele. I would say the Bún Bò Huế is on par with the ones served down south, around Kingsland road in Shoreditch. In fact, it is less salty and more tasty than a few more renowned establishments I have frequented in London. Will definitely come back next time I am in Manchester.

It's nice. I tried the phó with rare beef, the beef is very chewy and quite big. The broth is nice basically like normal authentic broth.The phó overall is delicious, very quick to cook it and fast service. I might recommend it to a friend, I have had slightly more authentic viatnamese food before. They westernise it but the phó I had was completely viatnamese (but keep in mind phó isn't ment to be westernised) but you will enjoy it, nice viatnamese though.
