Reviews of SHORYU RAMEN Manchester
T. D.
A warm and wonderful experience. I was dining alone again and it still makes me nervous but everyone was great and made me feel at home.
Big shout out to Abi for explaining the menu perfectly and showing great attention to detail.
Food arrived promptly and tasted great. It's not the cheapest place to eat but the quality is there and it's situated really well
J. L.
Amazing place! Absolutely delicious and a really nice atmosphere inside. We went on a Monday night and it was pretty busy, but they were happy to seat us despite not having a reservation. Service was fast and friendly. Would 100% visit again.
S. Y.
Good location with great selection. During peak time there will be a long queue! But booking/reservation is available (they will ask you if you have a reservation). Their ramen is amazing! It is so fresh and flavoury. The soup is thick and strong, with their soy sauce and seasame it is even better. The portion is sooo satisfying, you can easily get full with one single portion. The meal deal is also valuable. We are vegan so everything is plant-based. Their vegan chicken tastes really good. I also love the drink a lot. Fab staff, always so welcoming! Definitely a place worth trying!

Amazing Tonkotsu ramen.
Honestly, I have never tasted Tonkotsu before and I have heard so much about it and tried it here first time.
Loved it.
Tried spicy octopus balls. Can't remember the specific name.
Very tasty. Didn't expect that taste.
Be very careful with 'Sake'. It's not like wine. It's like vodka.
Very powerful. Just two cups and I was done.
Happy with service and ambience. Everyone was lovely.
Parking: have to park somewhere else and walk to this place. Good location to have a fun stroll and enjoy the meal.

Great Japanese restaurant.
Food excellent.
Japanese grandson highly recommends this place!
Staff brilliant.
Very clean and covid secure.
Loved it.

We visit this place for first time and we where very surprise with there lovely ramens.
We order Origin tonkosu and Shoryu ganso tonkosu ramens. Food come very quickly. Meat both and noodles taste amazing. Proper made from fresh food. Pork belly on our ramens where just melting in our mouth. All together come with 2 drinks around £37. Worth every penny. This place has the best ramen we ever had! Must visit for all ramen lovers like us!!!❤ Also this place having excellent customer service. They know how to value costumers.
T. Y.
Love the Ramen, been here a couple times already, at first I saw this restaurant being recommended at somewhere else, glad I took the leap of faith to try this Ramen restaurant, good quality of food and great service, will absolutely suggest this to friends and ppl I know to try this out
s. w.
Amazing Ramen and exceptional service. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
It is a bit pricey but I believe it's worth every penny.
Highly recommend.
A. W.
The ramen have a nice firmness, the broth is thick which is how I like it. Staff are friendly and attentive. My favourite place in Manchester for Ramen.
S. Z.
The food quality was average in comparison to other ramen restaurant where the taste, quality, price and waiting time for food would be better. This restaurant has a nice ambiance and good selection of drinks.
As we didn't have a reservation, we were seated on an antisocial bench where eating and conversation was a little awkward. As a group we were fine but near us there were 4 other empty tables that could accommodate us, when we asked the server to be moved, we were told they were "reserved" and yet no one dined on those tables whilst we were there. So it's a overall 3 for the whole dinning experience.
C. B.
Enjoyed a seafood ramen which was very tasty. The service was excellent with the waiter explaining the menu before I ordered. Some interesting choices to experiment with on the menu. It was one vegetarian option in terms of ramen.
T. R. P. (.
Amazing heart warming soul food!
Around £13 a bowl , we had the shoryu original and the spicy ramen . Both are great !
If you think you had ramen before think again and be paired to get your socks blown out of the water!
Only downside this are …. Other ramen no where near as good as this same again once you had a taste, just leaves you wanting to come back for more.
Book yourself a table to save waiting in the cold. And thanks me later :)
W. L.
Very delicious Ramen outside of London. Highly recommend this place, we had miso and kimchi, both delicious broth. Staff are friendly too.
M. W.
Kimchi seafood tonkotsu is lovely, the broth is rich and spicy enough, good portion as well. Tiramisu is also excellent 👌🏽
K. s.
Ramen is excellent. The soup of ramen is excellent. However, i do not recommend gyoza because they are scorched.
Besides, the service needs improvement. Some staff seem not well trained. It is so strange that a staff rushed to clean up the table while I was paying the bill. An off-duty staff was so disturbing and had forever gossips with the on-duty staff.
S. M.
Ramen is great especially the soup, you should also try the pork bun and desert as well.
M. C.
A first time visit following a recommendation. I was really impressed. Great friendly service, really nice authentic Japanese food. The ramen I had took me back to a trip to Japan. Delicious and well worth the visit. One I'll be returning too soon.
D.
We were absolutely amazed and satisfied of this noodle bar. The Ramen is fantastic, with a very well balanced flavour. The octopus balls were also very nice. We will definitely come back!
S. S.
Just what I needed on a rainy day. The ramen was very good, next time will try to kotteri one for sure. The gyoza was very fresh and came on a hot skillet. The staff was very friendly and you can just walk in.
M. P.
Super friendly staff, service fast and food delicious, the best takoyaki we’ve ever had.
E. D.
Staff were so friendly and accommodating to my disability and helped me access and be seated in my wheelchair which made the visit really good. Really positive experience. Had a great range of food and drinks on the menu and was well priced. Food was great and worth the money. Would recommend! :-) thank you for helping this evening!
S.
Greeted inside with a warm welcome, where our server took us through the menu and all the items on special. Both me and other half had ramen which tasted delicious. Would definitely recommend.
A.
Veggie bun was 10/10, very tasty. The veggie ramen however was bland and felt it v steep to add one cold egg for £2 . Service also quite slow even though it wasn’t busy. Staff very friendly though. Would probably come back just for the buns
K. L.
Really delicious meals.
Pork bun and Ramen were sooo good. Also had the Hitachino Nest (white) beer. Unique and also very good. The staff was super friendly and helpfu. Five stars!
R. “. G.
Great food, friendly staff who took the time to explain the menu and offer a personal experience, they even perform the traditional greeting to all customers which was a fun experience. Overall great place to eat. I love my Ramen and have struggled to find something authentic so am really glad I found this place. Will definitely be visiting again!
S. R.
Staff really friendly, food was nice, selection was good - nice experience
l. g.
The ramen was delicious! I highly recommend the Chicken Katsu Ramen
M. M.
Good ramen, close to a Japan like ramen. The miso tonkotsu is good, it's kinda watery compared to an authentic ramen.
The chashu is not chashu.
The ajitamago is good, same for the noodles too. I'll come back, it's a good ramen.
I believe the price is around 14£
C. K.
Only stopped for a quick lunch, a bao bun. Unfortunately the service was very slow, to get seated, to order, to get the bill. Possibly understaffed. When staff was there, they were very friendly and helpful, i could overhear the waiter talking with other tables that needed help and the service is outstanding. The food was delicious too.
M. F.
It’s incredible food is perfect, staff are awesome, lovely place highly recommended
M. N.
Best ramen in Manchester hands down. Would make a trip just for it.
Service is always good and efficient.
Clean and good ambiance.
Definitely a go to place if you’re looking for a quick tasty Japanese soup.
A.
Food was beautifully presented but the flavor was not impressive. The place itself was very cute. The staff was attentive but in my experience they were unfriendly and stuck up. Prices were as expected.
L. I.
I'm not an expert in Japanese food, but I've tried Ramen in various places in different cities and this is the one I prefer. The broth is so rich and the pork meat is simply perfectly cooked. The staff is also extremely friendly and polite. Thanks Sarah and Nelson for the nice evening.
a. .. C.
Arrived as a family of 5 with no booking . Even with the restaurant very busy they managed to find us a table.
The food , service and atmosphere was excellent.
I ordered their special ramen and must say its the best I've had .
Also my wife loved the cocktails
Will definitely be returning
G. R.
My favourite place to eat ramen 🍜 the vegan ramen did not disappoint! Cocktails were banging 🕺
A. S.
First Ramen experience. The kimchi seafood bowl was nice and tasty. Service was good and the guy on front of house took time to explain the dishes. Sightly more expensive than I'd of hoped. We spent over £40 on 2 mains and 2 non alcoholic drinks. Overall, I'd give it another go.
C. C.
An authentic Japanese ramen, comparable to some places in Tokyo
Unfortunately the portion sizes were not that big
Y. “. S.
The experience was good here.
Very busy. We didn't have reservations but they managed to squeeze us.
Food was OK here.
P. S.
It was a spur of the moment walk-in lunch-time visit and being a Tuesday we enjoyed the recommended signature Takoyaki dish along with the chicken curry. Service was prompt and we felt very welcome and well looked after throughout. And it was a sunny day which you only get once in a blue-moon in Manchester.
S. ..
Great food and customer service. We enjoyed everything thoroughly and definitely will come again.
a.
My favorite ramen. Rich and tasty soup that is not too salty.
T. D.
Nice food and great, friendly service. Had more than 50% clientele of Oriental people which is always a great sign. Also gave us a free prosecco & cake for a birthday on the day!
Z.
Pretty nice food and really friendly staff, was great for something quick to eat!
C. R.
I am a big fan of Japanese food and Shoryu Ramen did not disappoint. I got the signature ramen which is shown below and it was delicious, I also tried the spicy takoyaki which was also delicious. The service was amazing here and even thanking us in Japanese (which was a good touch in my opinion).
My only reasoning for rating it 4 instead of 5 star was because I ended up with a terrible stomach that night, I don't know for sure if it was the food from here but I also don't know if it wasn't.
I would still recommend Shoryu Ramen to anyone who enjoys Japanese food or is interested in trying Japanese food, if you have a terrible stomach too then we know that it is.
E. T.
Great option in the heart of Manchester for asian food! The staff was so friendly and kind!
Go!Go!Go!
R. P.
Delicious food - amazing staff 💜
Z. S.
The place is nice, and gives you the experience of a Japanese restaurant that you are seeking.
Prices are average
I have ordered their Shoryu buns (pork and chicken) they were really good
Also their Tonkotsu ramen, it was nice, but not intensely flavorful, I've had better tasting ramen elsewhere, but still very good.
Overall I loved the place and would go back there if I had the chance to!
J. M.
Ramen is good but slightly on the saltier side. Not sure about the 10% service charge as the service is quite bad. We ordered some tap water at the start when he was taking our order but we didn't receive it until after the food came when we mentioned it again. Again not sure why they advertise 10% student discount when they put 10% service charge aswell so it basically counteracts with it.
T. N.
One of the best or perhaps the best ramen I have ever tasted. It's obviously not a classic ramen and that's the secret. I don't know how they make Crab Kare Ramen but it is spectacular and is one of the best restaurants for hangovers in all of Manchester. Totally recommended.
L. B.
What a fantastic meal! We started with the Chicken Karaage buns, and followed with Signature Ramen (Me) and Katsu Chicken Curry Raman (My Wife). It's rare that I can finish an entire bowl of ramen including the noodles, but last night was the exception. The ramen was SO delicious that I was ready to lick the bowl. I'd give it more stars if I could. The service was great too, and the atmosphere, music, everything was just spot on. I highly recommend! It was so good that I forgot to take a photo!
H. G.
Greeted by a warm and welcoming team (the Italian Liverpool accent was amazing) and as it was my first time everything on offer was explained. I had the ramen and 2 baos and the flavours were great...only draw back was the egg in my soup was cold and the warm sake was too hot to drink (could not hold the jug to pour it)
E. P. (.
Absolutely fantastic! The best meal I have ever had! The staff was polite and ready to answer every question. The ramen was phenomenal as it was the takoyaki. It is a bit pricey but it sure is worth it!!
N. D.
Very tasty Ramen, friendly and helpful staff and nice design
S. S.
This place is the best Japaneese restaurant that we've been to! Our favourite dish is ramen soup, in Shoryu we tried the most delicious ramen ever! Very upsetting that we don't have Shoryu in Birmingham. Also, we ordered tepanniyaki, they were super tasty. Great service, we didn't even ask, but waiter explained everything that were in menu, so we can have an idea of each dish and drink. Nice and friendly atmosphere, great food, good location!
UPDATE: I visited this restaurant with my partner 4 years ago and we loved it! This time, just couple of weeks ago I came to Manchester with my friend and I really wanted to visit Shoryu again and it didn't disappoint! My friend enjoyed all the food and the atmosphere which I was happy about. We ordered ramens, takoyaki and a glass of cherry blossom prosecco each, everything was good and staff was very welcoming and friendly. Thank you.
G. M.
Really lovely venue, next to Piccadilly Gardens. Extremely good ramen, and service wasn't very quick for our drinks. We had to ask a couple of times for them. All in all, a positive experience, and will likely visit again
M. A.
Very nice atmosphere and the food was excellent 👌
I. W.
A clean, bright and friendly destination for tasty, modern Japanese-style dishes. Try the chocolate ice cream, it's the best I've had!
J. A.
Really tasty bao buns and ramen, obviously even better with their continued 'Eat In to Help Out' offer. I had the 'Dracula Tonkatsu' and it was super tasty. Regardless, it would not have been expensive given quality of food.
N. C.
Lovely food, very friendly staffs!
So good to be back here again after so long! They were only doing outdoor seating due to covid restrictions, we were half an hour early for our reservation but there was space for us to get seated.
The broth is so beautiful I always have to order extra ramen. Unfortunately the extra ramen filled me well, next time I'll have to try to desserts! It looks amazing and I hope I won't get tempted to order extra ramen next time.
b. h.
I'm glad I finally had a delicious meal here! After wanting to come here during my many Instagrams scrolls and seeing their dishes on the platform.
Looking forward to my next stop here! Our waiter and waitress were attentive and food and drinks came out to us quickly.. thank you to John, Hermione and Rumi, the venue is gorgeous and relaxing!
I love how personalities are celebrated through their staff!
Gianluca is very enthusiastic, he looks after the customers exceptionally and takes care of the staff too.
I think I want a job here hahaha!!
See you soon!
D. “. N.
One of my favourite places to go for Ramen as they do some the best Ramen I have had, sadly they have a incredibly limited vegan option. But we enjoy it enough to keep going back when we want a change!
D. V.
Really good ramen. Chose the thicker broth with pork. Will definitely come back again. 4 stars because at the moment can't find better ramen than Bode Daddies from London which is on another level.
K. M.
Food was excellent and came very quickly, staff were very friendly and attentive. Lovely view of Piccadilly Gardens from the front tables. Absolutely loved my visit!
H.
The most amazing Japanese food I've ever had!
We were in Manchester for two days and we went here twice, that's how good it was! Everything from the atmosphere, the super friendly staff and the absolutely amazing food was perfect.
I'd eat there every day if I could.
Over the two days we had the Bao Buns (pork, pumpkin and chicken). The Katsu Curry, and the house ramen, the kimchi seafood ramen and the kimchi seafood pork ramen. And some mango mochi. We also tried their Sake tasting set which was really interesting.
The staff were so lovely and really made the environment so friendly and welcoming.
I want to come to Manchester again just to visit this restaurant!
V. A.
The food was really pretty and not much taste unfortunately, I wouldn't rush back here. The cocktails however were really nice!
C. H.
Very nice, good food, I love the ramen and the Karage chicken, fried chicken. The only downside the service is so slow 30 min to have our food.
I. L.
Had buns and ramens for delivery. The broth was nice, flavorful, and thick. The buns were nice and fluffy as well. The packaging is very well made for a soup type food so that the noodle isn't getting soggy and too soft when i eat it. Edamame iva also well seasoned.
A. G.
Absolutely love this place. Amazing staff and authentic tasting Japanese food. I would recommend SHORYU to anyone who enjoys great tasting food and quality service! I have always enjoyed every visit and I will continue to visit regularly.
H. R.
Amazing Ramen! One of the best I have tried 👌
L. L.
We had two lunch menus at Shoryu Ramen and we were really satisfied.
With the menu you get a plate of noodles (you can choose between the restaurant's speciality and a veggie alternative) and an appetizer, all for £12. The ramen was surprisingly good , tasty and juicy! The appetizers weren't as good BUT that's just because WE didn't like the taste of them , not because there were any problem in particular. The staff was really helpful guiding us through the things we had to know about the plates and all . DEFINETLY a place I'd go again!
S. W.
Went for lunch on a Monday, had a short wait but food well worth it, and the bun offer they have on Monday is a steal. The highlight was the pumpkin croquette bun.
A. K.
Came here for the first time on Saturday and was extremely impressed with the food and service. The ramen is delicious (Karaka was a favourite) and the BBQ pork buns were tasty, if not a little expensive. Highly recommend, I will be going back
A. D. T.
The buns are absolutely delicious! There are multiple things that you can choose from so I suggest you read the menu carefully so you don't miss something you might like!
The ramen was of outstanding quality and it had the exact taste I wanted. Would definitely recommend this place to all tourists(I was one myself visiting my sister).
tip : if you don't like waiting too much this place can actually get a bit crowded and the waiting time goes up, i suggest you make a reservation a day beforehand so everything will go smoothly for you🤗
S. L.
Really good food! I enjoyed it a lot and the pork doesn't have so much fat on it restaurants usually leave on the pork. However, did feel like we waited a lot for a waiter. Regardless was amazing. The desserts were on point!!
J. F.
As frequent ramen eaters (We’ve eaten a lot of tasty ramen) This place hands down is one of the best we’ve found in the north of England of late- the attention to detail in flavours and noodle softness is spot on— we booked a table in advance as knew valentines eve would be busy; but the set menu was good value for three courses, plus we lapped up the happy hour cocktail discount too, the Pink Geisha and the Rum Tiki were delicious (sorry don’t have a pic of these) but super fancy anyway- a real Asian treasure for anyone that looks a juicy broth of
Goodness, Ramens always a great meal to cheer you up. Thankyou to all the staff that made our evening very enjoyable; would highly recommend to friends and family. Doumo Ariagatou gozaimasu

Delicious Japanese food in a friendly, if somewhat cramped, environment. We turned up without a booking at 7pm on a Saturday night (expecting to be turned away), but were put on a waiting list and asked to come back for 8pm. A couple of pints in a local bar later we returned, and were shown to a couple of spaces on a bench seat alongside other diners - we didn't have much space, and we felt a bit jammed in, but that was the vibe of the place, and it didn't detract from the experience. The restaurant is not big, and is mostly bench seats / communal tables, so if you're looking for a private, intimate dining experience, then this probably isn't for you.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was great - I'd happily go again. Next time I'd book well in advance, though :-)
J. M. (.
Took the Mrs here for my first try at traditional Japanese ramen and I was VERY impressed. Both by the tastiness of the food and the portion size. You get a big bowl and plenty of noodles and pork belly. I ended up selflessly helping the Mrs finish hers too.
S. W.
I've been here for the second time and I had one of the best ramen in my life. I had Karaka Tan Tan Tokotsu, chicken bun and kamikaze sake flight. Everything was delicious and ramen, honestly exquisite. Fully recommended this place and Londons brunch! Service was quick and excellent.
P. G.
Delicious broth, amazing noodles, wonderful appetizers and great matcha.
Impressive customer service - upon stating an allergy, the "allergy ambassador" came over to explain how the kitchen processes foods and what steps will be taken to ensure its safe to eat.
Unfortunately, it's slightly on the pricier side, but not unreasonable.
Definitely recommended and looking forward to eating here again.
A. B.
I found this place completely by accident whilst actually heading to another restaurant and decided to give it a try. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed.
Having never eaten at a ramen bar before, I had to seek the advice of the waitresses. They were more than happy to help though and pointed out the dishes that they thought were particularly good.
I had two steamed buns, one Barbecue Pork and one Chicken Karaage. Both were delightful. The meat was wonderfully tender and the sauces tasty. Each included cucumber and lettuce which added a touch of freshness to the mix.
I followed this up with the Kakuni Tonkotsu Ramen which was a seasonal exclusive. I was surprised how big the serving size was, and the food was even more surprising. Everything was perfectly cooked, from the wonderfully soft egg to the delicious and tender pork belly. The pal choi added a wonderful flavour, although for me the seaweed was slightly too strong. The broth was perhaps the most impressive part though, with a really rich and full flavour.
Dessert was a milk chocolate mousse with yuzu sauce. This was served on a biscuit base like a cheesecake. Whilst the mouse didn't seem as authentically Japanese as the rest of the food, it was very tasty and the yuzu added a nice twist.
All in all, a wonderful meal and a restaurant that I look forward to trying again.
K. E.
Always enjoy Shoryu! Be sure to book in advance as it is always busy. Staff are a delight; so attentive and friendly. Food is always quick and STUNNINGLY DELICIOUS. Space is tight so large groups may have a bit of a wait.
Recommend the spicy kimchi seafood ramen and the frozen Kirin beer.
R. E.
A bit small in portion for noodle, I ordered extra noodle
D. L.
Amazing food, drinks, staff, service and atmosphere from start to finish. I couldn't fault anything from here.
If you want decent ramen, this is the place to go.
J. A.
Excellent service, staff very helpful, they went over the menu well explaining all we needed to know.
The food is Excellent, it was tasty and hot. Excellent first time experience.
G.
What a find! A great Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious. Service was swift and courteous. Venue is popular. Food was provided quickly and well presented - see photos. One of the best restaurants in Manchester Piccadilly. Food photos are a roll with chicken (£9) and the green curry with chicken (£12.50). Cocktails, Mocktails, and soft drinks available.
M. S.
We always liked Shoryu Ramen, well, and liked it even more during "eat out help out" ^^ Their covid precautions were superb. Hand cleansers are everywhere in the shop and your fever is checked prior to entrance. The staff is informing all the customers over "eat out help out", and remind that they'd only pay the half within the limit. Unlike some other restaurants their special discount menus, such as "bun Monday" and "takoyaki Tuesday" are still on! So you can mix and match the new scheme with any other discount. Food was divine as usual. Especially during these hot days, mochi ice cream works terrifically.
A. E.
Very very tasty, one of the best places you can visit for ramen that is as close to authentic Japanese ramen, they have there own spin on it but that doesn't make it bad, it's better for it
The price is pretty reasonable, portion sizes are large, the ability to order the toughness of your noodles is a very good and authentic choice.
One of the few downsides is the extras for the ramen such as the spicy mustard, in Japan it is offered for free on the table, it is also a tad expensive for what it is but what free options they offer far outweigh the negative, as much raw garlic, chili oil and sesame seeds as you can personally use. I very much recommend a visit!
A. G.
Just brilliant! Even the vegan ramen was superb. Have always loved their Tonkotsu but even the tan tan was nice. Would have given 5 stars of they had more vegan options.
L. Z.
Our first ever dinner at Manchester after a late arrival. Felt luck we found this Ramen bar: extremely tasty soup and excellent beer and cocktail! Definitely worth the money!
N. S.
Delicious ramen and tasty cocktails! Not the best ramen in the country but definitely up there. All ingredients good quality and flavourful, with elegant and attractive presentation. Only complaint is that the eggs were a touch undercooked.
The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, with the delightful authenticity of the chefs preparing ramen right in front of you.
A. A.
I was so happy that an authentic ramen restaurant had opened in Manchester and Shoryu does not disappoint. It is the BEST Tonkotsu ramen I've eaten since visiting Little Tokyo in Los Angeles.
The gyoza was delicious too. Delicately flavoured, soft yet crunchy parcels of minced meat and herbs. It also comes with a soy dipping sauce.
Vegan and Vegetarian options are also available and no doubt just as delicious.
The staff were attentive and very friendly. Place is clean, fresh, light and airy.
Menu is great, not too vast that it is confusing but big enough to provide variety.
You can order extra ingredients with your soup.
Drinks menu is great and showcases a decent range of Japanese imports.
I found the lunch deal reasonable and in comparison to eating ramen in a restaurant in the USA, really not too dissimilar when it comes to price.
Can't wait to bring my friends along to try your food again!
R. H. K. T.
We went as a group of two parents - with two young children. There was no table initially - they reserve a table for us and rung us afterwards. The manager Duncan is ever so courteous! The service is top notch! Love the noodle soup and chicken karaage! Would highly recommend this!
G. H.
Authentic flavours and a fun experience. This chain is well worth a visit as they do great ramen dishes that never disappoint!
Staff here are especially friendly and gave small freebies to one of my brothers when he was missing out from the special Gudetama promotion going on.
There is a large range of food to choose from including vegetarian options and they provide a good level of spice to those looking for something a little hot.
I would advise booking ahead as it gets quite busy!
Z. M.
I've been to a few ramen joints in my time, but this is up there with the best. Lovely staff and delicious food in a truly authentic setting. I came to Manchester for the match but safe to say I had had better time here!
L. K.
It was so amazing! We came for short holidays to Manchester, we found this place, and we came back to taste this ramen again and again! 😁🤤🤤
L. D.
The service was a tad slow (but to be fair it was very busy, so I can't blame them), but the staff was extremely friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Easy recommendation.
L. L.
The staff were incredible. Not my cup of tea food wise, but my misses who loves this type of food thought it was great…. Service was top notch.
M. B.
love takoyaki and koyo cocktail. Ramen was fair. Hear that their curry should be good. Will try next time.
Price-wise a bit expensive.

It’s been a long time since I had a Shoryu ramen especially I don’t work upstairs anymore.
Today I had Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu and the Baos. It was honestly not as good as before. The meat was way to fatty and fat was not rendered down and the soup was really oily and made my stomach upset afterward.
I guess I won’t be back for a while.
P.
The Tonkotsu broth here is so rich in flavour not to mention all the fantastic trimmings. Starting from noodles, through perfectly served egg up to the pork which just melts in your mouth. I had a big problem with dessert menu because there is too many good things to choose from. I will definitely be back to taste all the others.
A.
Pretty nice ramen spot in the middle of city centre. The highlight for sure is the broth of their staple Hakata Tonkotsu ramen. This deep and layered broth is to die for. Portion sizes are generous and the staff are very friendly. This location in particular feels just like a high end ramen shop in Tokyo. Only issue is the price. With this being in the heart of city centre the price reflects this. The ramen bowls can be quite pricey but the sides and drinks are particularly steep. Thankfully they have regular deals and 10% for both students ans NHS workers which definitely softens this blow a little. Would recommend if looking for somewhere to treat yourself.
J. W.
Very authentic food, ramen soup is very delicious. Takoyaki is great too! Absolutely loving it! 😋😋😋
R. B.
Favorite Ramen in Manchester!! Definitely will go back for more Ramen. friendly staff and good food. Large table seating can be a bit crowded and may not have enough space to eat. Nice view of Piccadilly Gardens too. Good lunch specials.
s. d.
The food and ambiance was great. Excellent service and the staff helps you, if you don't understand what you are ordering. I've now found a nag for r Japanese food.
C. R.
Ramen as it should be, quick, hot and cramped.
Don’t come here expecting the best service or roomiest environment, do come here for great tasting, warning bowels of ramen.
The gyoza were also incredible, 100% would get them again
T. S.
Lovely staff and amazing food, never disappointed, my favourite ramen restaurant ever!
A. W.
Best ramen and takoyaki I've ever had in the UK. Staff were also very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit if anyone is around the area.
T. W.
Some of the best Japanese style ramen ive had outside of japan. I loved that you could refill your bowl with extra noodles. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Amazing!
C. E.
Really delicious food and good vibes and friendly staff.
T. N.
One of the best or perhaps the best ramen I have ever tasted. It's obviously not a classic ramen and that's the secret. I don't know how they make Crab Kare Ramen but it is spectacular and is one of the best restaurants for hangovers in all of Manchester. Totally recommended.
M. C.
Really delicious meals definitely would recommend 😋
A. F.
lovely food and lovely staff; just bit of a waiting period even with having made the reservations and high prices
N. C.
Lovely food, very friendly staffs!
So good to be back here again after so long! They were only doing outdoor …
P. G.
Delicious broth, amazing noodles, wonderful appetizers and great matcha.
Impressive customer service - upon stating an allergy, the "allergy ambassador" …
J. M.
Ramen is good but slightly on the saltier side. Not sure about the 10% service charge as the service is quite bad. We ordered some tap water at the start when he was taking our order but we didn't receive it until after the food came when …
C. W.
Really tasty. Service great, and staff all really welcoming.
R. N.
Delicious ramen with a wide variety to choose from as well as some tasty desserts. The cocktail menu is pretty good too.
S. J.
Honestly the best service I've experienced in a very long time. Our server Duncan (think he was the manager) was so accommodating, their attitudes to food allergies was absolutely faultless and the food was brilliant (picture is the vegan white natural ramen option, really enjoyed it, good umami flavour). Can't rate them highly enough, will definitely be back in a hurry
P.
I love this place so much, the staff is friendly and when we enter their greeting is so amazing. The food is great and the portions are more than enough.
L. S.
Really tasty ramen, good location and good atmosphere. I just wish there were ore vegetarian dishes but overall, a place I would recommend and be back again!
M. P.
Ramen? You are in the top ramen restaurant in Manchester. Portions are very good and delicious.
I love ramen, and this restaurant cooks the best ramen in Manchester.
I had my number one, but after trying Shoryu, you jump on first place in my top 5.
Well done!! See you soon
A. G.
Only good ramen place in Manchester I know. It's a bit expensive but the quality of the food is amazing. And the macha tea Sunday ice cream is amazing. I'd recommend going there at least once.
L. G.
Friendly staff & food was absolutely delicious!!, perfect for a special lunch or dinner, will visit again.
T. L.
Great Ramen and very good buns as starters.
Food is a bit pricey with 13.50£ for Ramen with pork belly and 8.50£ for two rather small buns with chicken.
We sat in front of the cooking area which was a little bit cramped. Strangers are sitting right next to you.
All in all a good experience.
K. O.
Loved it! Ordered a feast and enjoyed every single one, including my drink
S. M.
The Bao buns were to die for! Came here ahead of a show at the 02 Apollo and found the service to be fast and attentive. The food was really nice and well presented.
R. Z.
Fantastic and super awesome place to eat, sit, drink and meetings with friends. That was my firs ramen in life but it was amazing. Funny thing is that that you should slurp during eating 😂 about 19 was a little bit problem with free places to sit inside. I have to come back soon!
A. A.
Delicious food and efficient, friendly staff.
A. B.
Great place. The food tastes great. Have a booking or you might have to wait.
D. S. O.
Food was absolutely delicious! And the service was very good as well. I'm very pleased with everything! <3
s. k.
Authentic Ramen || bit of a disappointment for vegans as there was only one option for Ramen. But the taste was exceptionally good.
P. M.
Nice restaurant in great of Manchester. Good place for a group or a singleton. Amazing food. One of the most tasteful ramen soup we have eaten. Where was a one problem.. they run out of some food from the menu.. it was heartbreaking.. oh well I guess I'll need to visit you again 😉
E. W.
I am half Japanese. Not everything here was authentic (the sauce for the yaki-gyoza isn't quite right, and some of the ingredients in their ramen would never really be used in Japan - red ginger, for example). That being said, this is my first time ever having good Japanese-inspired food in the UK. I was genuinely pleased with the food I received. Recommended.
A. F.
lovely food and lovely staff; just bit of a waiting period even with having made the reservations and high prices
P.
Oriented taste. Tonkatsu ramen which is signature menu is the best. Side dishes such as Gyoza and Takoyaki are also fantastic. Love it!!!
J. M.
Really good Ramen bowls and starters. Good they're carrying on the eat out to help out thing during September.
J. C.
Been here a few times with my friends and we all agree that this place the best ramen in Manchester! The staff are really friendly especially the manager. Also love the ambience!
K.
The food is great and they even have a menu which describes how their dishes work (for people who have no clue about Japanese food). People who work there are super friendly and you feel very welcome. They pay attention to details. Thank you!
A. I. E.
I love this place. Pleasant food and drinks, lovely staff, well priced.
V. N.
My first ramen. I didnt know how i could eat it 😂 but i did it. It was so spice, sorry no it was hot! My mouth burnt! My friends was excited they love hot and spice food. I like other kitchen and this restaurant is really nice place for visit in the centre with kind people.
a. m.
Nice location, staff friendly, nice facilities. The lunch menu is £12, cheap I think, and very tasty. We had the gyoza and the "soup". The gyozas came in a hot platter, so tasty! The soup is a nice portion of intense rich flavour. Overall it is a 5*. Nice food, not too expensive
P. H.
Absolutely amazing good quality food at a very reasonable price.
My meal with a friend was simply the restaurants two Signature Dishes Shoryo Ganso Tonkotsu a pork broth ramen with noodles of choice ... A simple but enjoyable aspect is nitamago egg included which is hard to find... Done right...out of japan.
The second (technically a side order) is the Japanese Buns...as stated earlier we had the signature bun... Wagyu Beef ... A soft delicious taste sensation in my opinion.
The service is very professional they did everything possible to accommodate us (we had no reservation) which we recommend you get.
They where very friendly and super fast to attend every need.
Dessert Yuzu Cheese Cake. Delicious.
The bill came to £65.00. Excluding tip.
Highly recommend you will love it.
R. K.
A nice experience topped with Ramen on a sunny day.
The location of Shoryu is very central being that it is located in Piccadilly Gardens.
It was my first time eating at Shoryu on Thursday. At first, I had to wait a while in the hot sun, to be attended to even though there was no queue, before I could check in my reservation.
After I had been shown to my seats, the waitress (I think she was Japanese) was very kind and cheerful as she tried to make my experience at Shoryu the best it could be. Hats off to her because she was very nice and recommended dishes and explained a bit of the menu that I needed help with.
The tonkotsu ramen was very tasty and the portion was just right for me as I had eaten afternoon tea beforehand but maybe I would be less satisfied if I did not have afternoon tea beforehand?
Nonetheless, I had an overall nice experience thanks to the kind lady who served me and partner and the nice food.
L. L.
solid choice for a quick bowel of thick broth ramen, it never disappoints.
D. T.
Great service, staff are very friendly. Food is amazing. Monday is the best for their £5 ramen and 2 for 1 on baos when ordered with a ramen.
B. N.
This is my absolute best ramen in the north!
I wish I could have it everyday.
M. B.
Amazing ramen. Their signature ramen is unbelievable and their signature miso ramen has the most delicious meat!
The service is really quick and the atmosphere is really welcoming and warm. Price is good (roughly £10/12 per dish) and the portions are quite big.
We had a lovely meal and I am looking forward to go back
A. R.
On Monday and Tuesday you can get a huge bowl of ramen for a fiver and it is delicious. A thick savoury broth filled with slurpy noodles, pork, shallots, ginger and spring onions.
The place is probably better for a quick and casual meal rather than a proper meal out but the food is great, atmosphere is relaxed and it feels authentically Japanese.
S. M.
While there may not be many halal options, the staff are extremely well informed and accomdated to my dietary requirements very well. The assistant manager Alva was brilliant and the food was wonderful. Pumpkin croquettes buns are a must try!
R. T.
Good service, attentive staff and food is good. A little bit pricey in my opinion.
However, they do have discounts on certain days such as £7 Ramen for students, 2-4-1 desserts on Sundays etc.
J. M. -. R. (. d. v.
Really good taste of Japanese ramen ! I passed 4 years in Japan and I’m not disappointed !
S. P.
Oiishi! , we had gyoza dumplings, vegetable tempura, and two bowls of the standard ramen, with an extra serving of belly pork. Kirin beer, and sencha. Almost as good as in Japan. ... I've given it 4 /5 stars, because at £58.60, for the above, it's about three times the price it would be in Japan
G. F.
Delicious authentic ramen. Very impressed with the cleanliness and the vivid measures. Highly recommended.
S. M.
Excellent ramen. Authentic taste, good portion size
Excellent desert! Would love to go again
C. T.
Stunningly good ramen! We went in the opening week, and therefore got half price ramen. Our group all had the "Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu" with a stronger and thicker broth, and double eggs. We were all blown away by how good it was and ended up with a variety of steamed buns and yakitori. All of it was delicious and couldn't be better. Only "complaint" was that they gave us one side wrong, but when asked they gave us the right one and gave us the wrong one free, and during opening week this isn't much of a problem. Definitely recommend for any Asian food lovers or for anyone who has yet to have a proper ramen.
A. A.
Delicious ramen, and great service! Will definitely be returning
J. P.
Excellent ramen. You may have to wait a while at peak times. The waiting staff are very friendly and helpful and guide you through their menu explaining each dish. I had their signature dish - Shoryu Ganso Tonkosu (see picture) which was delicious. I chose to accompany it with their very refreshing Kiran nama frozen beer. Highly recommended.
D. L. (.
Nice ramen with the tonkutsu soup base. Cha Siu would need a bit of grilling though, too plain by itself. Gyoza was also nice, would prefer it with more vegs, less meat for better texture. Well done!
A. T.
Nice aesthetic and good food
S. S.
Managed to grab a table here with my friend tonight. The Takoyaki as recommended by the guy who took our order were delicious and seasoned beautifully. The signature Shoryu ramen was very flavourful, the broth more mellow but everything complimented one another. I would highly recommend the Matcha Mocktail too which had a very fruity and refreshing taste. Great price! Friendly service and delightful food, highly recommend here and look forward to coming back soon :)
c. c.
I lived in japan for 2 years and ate a llllot of ramen. Shoryu is by far the best I've had in the UK. It's a Japan-worthy bowl!
g. s.
Bowls of pure joy! Ramen is the best in Manchester. Great friendly service. You might have to cue to get in, but it’s worth it!
A. E.
Delicious food!!! Staff are super friendly and helpful with the menu, specially Rumi and James! Thank youuu ❤️they also have 10% discounts for the students! Me and my boyfriend will definitely come back :)
v. h.
Beautiful food, took me right back to being in Japan. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. Also the staff were helpful and totally amazing. I will visit again ❤️🙂
S. J.
Excellent food that is prepared quickly with very friendly staff. I highly recommend going there.
S.
Shoryu Ramen Restaurant! 🍲
Where to begin, from the moment you walk in you're greeted with a traditional greeting (All staff welcome you with the sound of a drum) the layout is beautiful with a open kitchen you can enjoy watching how they prepare various dishes, we changed our first choice of main as the waitress recommended something different which was by far the best decision we made.🍜🍶 Next time we are in Manchester we will definitely be visiting here again. 😍
S. R.
The food was good and service was excellent. They runned out of rice and I wanted a chicken katsu curry with noodles instead, the cheef said no so I was about to leave when once of the member of the staff said he'd sort it out and told the cheef to do it.
He saved my day as I was in my lunch break from work and I didn't have time to find another place to eat.
I've come back a few times and it's always been amazing, all the staff is lovely, specially the guy who went out if his way to make sure I had time to eat. (I think he's Italian but I am not sure, he really knows how to treat people)
A.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere: delicious mocktails, fine ramen and other authentic dishes. I cannot award five stars as they automatically apply a 10% service charge which is not given to the staff in its entirety: if I -choose- to leave a gratuity, I am leaving it for the wait staff - not the company.
J. A.
Great service, friendly staff and amazing food! The ramen is to die for and the black cod misoyaki is a must try!
M. W. M. M.
Excellent Japanese noodle with great and delicious soup
W. A.
Great place, the ramen is amazing and it is consistent as well. Book a table ahead and you will be fine.
E. M.
Brought my friends here for a meal.
Highly recommend the tonkatsu ramen and the sake, the combination is to die for
S. W. (.
Beautiful food. Best ramen I've ever had. Cosy little restaurant with wonderful servers.
C. H.
Great service and great food. Slightly limited if your vegetarian. But what was available was nice.
E. P.
A good ramen place. Recommended to just order the regular dishes, as their specialities are a bit overpriced and taste can differ. The staff is helpful.
D. H.
Nice tonkotsu ramen restaurant. They have a good variety of dishes and excellent service. I recommend the spicy ramen and Kirin frost beer, which is served with a frozen head.
M. S.
Ah-mazing ramen!!! 🍜 I had curry ramen with naruto fishcake and never have I been more satisfied with meal before 😍 the staff were lovely, smiley and helpful, food delicious, definitely recommend to anyone looking for some Japanese cuisine! Itadalimasu
Z. X.
Delicious is the only word I can describe this ramen.
S. R.
Shoryu tonkatsu ramen and chicken kaarage
Whenever I come to Manchester I always try to make a pit stop here especially when they have offers because the taste is very similar to the ones I have in Japan
M. “. S.
We visited during celebrating our first wedding anniversary and they gave us free desserts that came like this! The staff where super pleasent and the food was great!
H. H. G.
Really good authentic tonkotsu ramen. Wish they would open a branch in York!!
S. M.
Monday is good for visit. You have a chance to enjoy bun and Ramen
L. A.
Incredible food, cocktails and staff!
Highly recommend the Katsu Curry - absolutely insane!
A. T.
Amazing gem for authentic Japanese food. All the dishes tried were top notch!
S. L.
Worth it? Depends if you would spend 12£ plus on a ramen. Don't think it's too good for its price.
C. “. B.
Shoryu sits on Piccadilly gardens so easy to find! Fantastic Ramen options and the pork buns are just delicious (I suggest ordering 2 or you'll leave wishing you had) Service is good and a authentic atmosphere
T. W.
Big portions for a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a lovely clean restaurant. Enjoyable and would highly reccomend.
C. W.
If you like Ramen, this is a good little place for warming noodles and soup...
J. W.
Efficient, friendly service, even when super busy. Delicious food
A. J.
Waiting for it to open for a while, great food & service. Tuna missing from menu since opening. general manager & staff have conflicting info on this between head office and supply. Please get it soon we are returning :)
P. R.
Great food and service!
D. W.
The food here is lovely, and the general manager was very engaging (Gianluca?)
I'd recommend the spicy squid balls and the katsu curry ramen. The waiting staff could be a little more trained, but very friendly.
M. B.
FREAKING DELICIOUS. Tonkotsu brought me back to the streets of Tokyo. Will be returning for sure to try the other ramen styles
R. V.
Their Ramen is my new religion. Amazing place, friendly staff, delicious food.
E. T.
Really enjoyed. Something different. Great place to visit if you had enough of burgers. ;)
:)
T. S.
Much better than Wagamama etc. Fantastic food, great variety and made as you watch these talented chefs.
D. S.
Amazing ramen and wonderful service will be returning for sure.
P. D.
Our favourite place to eat on a day out. A bit expensive but worth it. The staff is very kind as well!
T. Z.
Ramen noodles taste good but their tempura is way too greasy. Spent £19.4 in total.
B. P.
Always reliable. Friendly service. Decent prices.
J. B.
Been here for a dinner of 4 of us, nice staff, quick service, the dishes are great, will back for sure.
E. O.
Really good ramen at a reasonable price. Also a good place for cocktails or desserts if you want something a bit different, as they're in keeping with the food with flavours like lychee and yuzu.
C. W.
Really tasty. Service great, and staff all really welcoming.
g. l.
Amazing ramen! Definitely recommend if you want to taste the best!
H. R.
Food excellent, Pork in the Ramen so tender it almost melted in my mouth. Staff friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again.
M. C.
Really delicious meals definitely would recommend 😋
N. “. T. S.
Taste good and attentive service. Many options and the bun is so good
C. M.
Gochisousama!
Ok, forget everything you know about ramen from your experiences at Wagamama and other pan-Asian restaurant.
The broth here is on another level. Emulsified particles of pork bones, delicately seasoned, topped with a 'perfectly cooked' egg, mmmmm!
Prepare yourself for a massive umami hit. Then relax and ponder how long you can hold yourself back before coming back to feed your newfound addiction.
E. W.
I liked the taste of seafood ramen 😋 was amazing
M. X.
Very delicious Raman and Sakuyaki and location is great but poor service!
J. A.
Great Ramen and food. Service is great!
C. E.
Really delicious food and good vibes and friendly staff.
C. H.
Great food and the staff we very attentive and helpful.
W. P.
I celebrated my nomination this evening in this gorgeous place. Well we enjoyed a outstanding evening and the restaurant was indeed one of the reasons for this successful celebration. The team contributed in a lovely style, the cooking was extremely good and my guests were extremely joyful. We shall definitely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.
F. H.
First visit to the new Manchester branch. Ordered the Kotteri Hakata ramen 🍜 which was good in general. The service was good.
m. d.
Must try Japanese Restaurant in Manchester City Centre (piccadilly gardens). Great hospitality and taste!
Karaage must try…
H. K.
It's alright. The dishes are a bit on the expensive side. However they do have deals running from time to time. The decor is nice and there is ample seating area. The food doesn't taste all that bad either. What doesn't help the place is that it's located in picadilly gardens which is the spice capital of the world and all the crack heads are roaming outside.
M. P.
Love this place! Shame they don't do Udon noodles though.
D. W.
Best vegan ramen I’ve had maybe ever, including in Japan. Perfect broth.
A. H.
Fabulous service, amazingly friendly and professional staff.
Following covid guidelines to the T.
Food is delicious.
Great with the children.
My first time trying Japanese food it definitely won't be my last.
L. Z.
Spicy vegetarian ramen and Gyokuro tea were both amazing. Great service with reasonable price.
V. L.
Amazing broth, very tasty ramen, and very expensive. Worth for a treat or when they have an offer. Lunch menu is not bad for £14
C.
Dined here during the Eat out to Help out Scheme just a few hours ago. In short, food was amazing, service fast and not overbearing. Compared to other places we have been recently, the service here was really quick and well organised. We were booked in, but they were doing their best to seat walk ins as well. Drinks and food orders taken quickly and everything arrived in good time. The pumpkin bun is amazing! We then each ordered a ramen bowl (both massive and well worth there full price!). First time we’ve been here, and definitely going back again soon. Too much on the menu I’d like to try!
L. P.
Really good ramen, and choice of strange beer with ice on top :)
H. S.
Will definitely be going back! Went for the first time and was very impressed. Menu was explained clearly and our order was taken extremely quickly. Food arrived in no time and it was so tasty. Duncan and Kirsten had amazing service too!
K. C.
Never been before was nice and clean. Social distancing was excellent, staff very polite and courteous. Temp taken at entrance and we were asked to sanitize our hands. Most of all the food absolutely gorgeous will definitely be returning.
m. c.
Not a great deal to say.. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The food is great and it feels like the staff are not only serving you but contributing to your stay.
Love it.
If your in Manchester bookmark this place.
C. H.
Staffs were not very confident and polite. It includes when they took my order and on my entry. May worth to give more training.
Food is nice. Ordered signature ramen and the fried chicken. Asahi and sake were nice too
A. K.
A lot better than any other ramen in Sheffield
R. K.
Nice food, with a good selection of options, and they are happy to customise the orders
D. A.
Delicious large bowls of ramen with the option for additional noodles for leftover broth, with excellent buns available too!
C. F.
Good food, fast service, friendly staff 👌
J. F.
Lovely fresh tasty food. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Q. L.
Tasty food. I ordered the signature noodle and buns. The service is good. Nice try
L. A.
Love the ramen here, it’s honestly so tasty. Probably the best I’ve had! And the buns are great too. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. It’s always busy which can be a pain if you’re hungry but you’re always sat down as quickly as they can. The toilets are a bit gross but the rest of the restaurant is clean.
R. O.
Best pork bun ever and waitress Sahuru is the loveliest woman ever. She let me practice my awful Japanese with her. 10/10 recommend
j. a.
Fantastic food and even better service from all. Thank you guys
v. c.
Already better than what i expected just can never comparing to Japan....
L. P.
I had the gyoza and the lottery hakata tonkotsu. Both excellent, I'd definitely like to return.
B.
While the menu might seem a little pricey, you are absolutely paying for top quality food that's worth every penny. Not only that but the staff were nothing hut friendly, polite and attentive, especially to my sister's allergies and made sure everything she was interested in was okay for her to eat. The manager on duty at the time (or whom I assumed to be the manager) was bubbly, friendly and clearly enjoyed his work. Certainly one of the best restaurant experiences I've had so far!
J.
Probably the best ramen in the city!
C. B.
One of the best bowls of Ramen I've had!
A. B.
A couple of Australians off the plane and looking for a late dinner. We went here based on the google reviews. We had to wait 15min for a table so went to grab a drink nearby. Once seated the food was really great, service was friendly and personal and they recommended a sake that I really enjoyed. Plenty of chilli oil to add if it’s not spicy enough. Recommend a visit if you’re in town and looking for some super tasty ramen!
A. W.
Wow, just wow. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It makes a massive difference when someone takse the time to answer questions about the menu and lets you know which items on the menu are better for you based on personal preference. It saves time and you end up with some amazing food. Excellent tea selection and fantastic food menu. The tea, starters, mains and desserts were all fantastic. We will be back for more!
A. B.
The food was stunning here and despite the obvious challenges they face with covid the team did an excellent job. There was a little bit of a communication barrier and it seemed that our server struggled to understand our appetiser order resulting in it arriving at the same time as the main courses but despite this, the food and drink was delicious and companions and I had a wonderful time.
T.
Wow! This place is amazing. Loved the authenticity of it, I know it is not entirely accurate but they shout when someone arrived and that was enough for me. The place is actually really nice inside I thought it would be a little like being in a fish bowl. But it was nice and cozy. The staff were great and they explained the menu.. a top: let them/ask them to explain the menu it is not straight forward.
The food is so nice, the spicy ones were spicy and the fish ones were fresh the goza was served in the pan.
The drinks were really good fun. Try the ice topped beer it is actually lovely. We didn't try the cocktail menu but it is extensive.
L. S.
Food was very nice. Place is small and intimate which was nice for our anniversary meal. Very good with covid regulations. First restaurant I've been to that takes your temperature before going to your table. Excellent all round
D. S.
Honestly one of the nicest places I have gone to eat in Manchester and definitely the best food. This was my first time trying ramen and I did it because I fancied a change and had heard it was really good. Called in this place after some Christmas shopping and was not disappointed in the slightest. The bowl size was much bigger than I expected and the presentation of the food itself was brilliant and the taste was, without exaggeration, amazing! If anything that might be underselling it. Honestly from the service down to the food I seriously could not fault this restaurant.
m. h.
Prob best ramen you can find in the UK
Although I prefer Kotteri Hakata, chicken and curry ones are very good as well. Buns might be expensive but its quite tasty. You can benefit from bun deal on monday. Bon appetite
S. G.
Really great location for this friendly, attentative restaurant.
The food was delicious!
The starters really sealed the deal for the 5 stars- absolutely amazing.
In my opinion the main dish menu wasn’t a HUGE selection but the options they had were fantastic. Their chicken was super tender and flavoursome, whilst the fish in the other dish ordered was perfectly cooked.
Would honestly recommend.
S. T.
Nice soup, fresh, tasty but a bit pricey. Nice atmosphere
M. Y.
Food was nice and tasty, although it took over 30mins for our food there was just two of us no starters just main course I had to train to catch I was very close to leave restaurant as I was getting close to my train departure time
H. X.
Good soup
V. e.
I love the ramen but there seems to be no way to order a takeaway for collection or even to ring the restaurant. I live too far from Manchester for the Deliveroo option. The staff tell me that the only thing to do is turn up in person, place my order, then wait 20-40 minutes.
I love the ramen so much that I drove into Manchester to do this only to find it closed. Google maps said it was open.
The London branch seems to have a phone number but not the Manchester branch so I couldn’t even ring ahead to check.
It’s a shame as the Ramen is to die for. Utterly delicious
B. F.
Me and my firend went for dinner. The staff were really helpful. Mona, the shift manager was outstanding. She sat and went through the menu line by line to explain what I could and couldn't eat with my specific dietary requirements. She even helped make up a dish so I could have the specific dish I wanted.
The food was delicious and portion sizes were ample. It arrived quickly and was to our request. The drinks were crisp and fresh.
Will definitely be back if I am ever back in Manchester.
C.
Shoryu is lovely. Staff are always super friendly and atmosphere is very traditional Japanese. Definitely recommend here for ramen!
J. C.
Amazing ramen and good selection of sake. The service was fantastic as well.
C. T.
The staff were absolutely lovely a day the food gorgeous- what morecould you want? 😀
T. N.
Amazing service and food! Very friendly staff. Will definitely go back!
H. W. S. L.
The ramen is quite good, friendly staff and nice environment
S. H.
Amazing food, drinks and stuff. I had Chicken Katsu Curry Ramen which I absolutely loved and Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu which was alright. On side I had Chicken Kaarage bun and Spicy Takoyaki which I will give six star ******

The place was quite busy but they were able to fit me in. The staff were really polite and friendly. This place has a really relaxed atmosphere so I didn't feel out of place dining alone. The staff took my order really quickly, and the food arrived just as fast, I wasn't expecting it to be so quick! The noodles were delicious, made just how I wanted them. As I sat there facing Picadilly Gardens I was spirited away to my holidays in Japan, I felt as though I really was back there because the atmosphere in the restaurant was so nice. The staff were really attentive and I couldn't pass up on a frozen beer (highly recommended). It was a great experience and a great meal, highly recommended.

Despite being surrounded by big standard food outlets this place is a gem amongst them. EXCELLENT gyōza followed by really really great ramen. There's a decent selection of starters and mains and it's not all ramen. Only downside was the bizarre seating. I know restaurants like to cram folk into the window seats but we were hemmed in like they were nervous about letting people be comfortable/spaced out. Still go though.

It was my first time visiting and I loved every moment of it, I will be visiting again.
ALL staff were very efficient and extremely nice, it was almost full when I visited but I never had more than a 5 minute wait after ordering before food arrived.
Food was perfectly presented and tasted as amazing as it looked.
There was a Gudetama Christmas meal deal, starter, main, dessert and a drink included. I even got a keyring for ordering the deal.
C. G.
Great ramen. Staff were friendly and polite, helped explain the menu to my freind and myself before giving us time to select the dish.
I had the standard ramen and added some spicy sauce to it. The noodles and broth were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Shoryu.

Great dining experience, good service & amazing ramen!
M. D.
We had a fantastic meal at Shoryu Ramen with a couple of Friends. Without a reservation we turned up, were informed of a small wait so we scheduled a table for an hour later and popped for drinks. Arrived on time for the booking and we were promptly shown to our seats.
Menu selection was great with some good vegetarian options for my wife. I opted for the Kimchi Seafood Ramen while my wife enjoy the vegetarian set meal, which also included some shoryu buns and a cocktail.
The food was amazing, flavours were really well developed and balanced while the broth was rich and refined. Service staff were always well attentive without being imposing and deserved a well earned tip.
Although the bill overall was expensive much of this we spent on drinks (the espresso martini was lovely) and given the quality of the food we were very happy with the price and value, would definitely recommend and return.

Delicious ramen in a place that looks/seems very unpretentious from the outside. The food is excellent, as well as the service. A great place for a fast lunch when in town, but also a good place to go with a group. All on one level, it is also a good place to go with a pushchair. A good place I would return to.
T. A.
Busy and somewhat authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. Although the also have some rice dishes. Also with vegetarian option available. Some good deserts also. Price is moderate. I recommend you book a table before hand though to avoid a big wait as it’s quite a popular spot. The seating style is quite Japanese as you may be seating next to strangers but hopefully that’s not a problem
G. J.
A great meal out in central Manchester.
Food good.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Definitely worth a visit
R. M.
The portions seem small, but they are properly filling. I had an appetizer, main course and tea, quality is good and service was nice. Quite busy though, unless you are willing tonsit outside, which I did and recommend.
T. T.
The starter and main were great. Arrived quickly. Well cooked. The dessert however was extremely over priced. We actually sat open mouthed at the single golf ball sized item which cost us £3. Service was OK but not amazing.
G. K.
I recently visited with my wife for the final fantasy promotion, and found that the great quality food was let down by the poor quality service.
We arrived with a reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived, but after waiting for over 10 minutes to be seen for service, another server came to our table and moved us as we had been seated on another groups reserved table.
After being moved we were served quickly and received our food quickly too. All of the food and drink we received was great. The ramen was piping hot and delicious, and we had chicken buns and matcha cheesecake for dessert, which were both great.
After finishing our food, I asked for the bill. We watched our server walk around the restaurant serving and assisting other tables, and after 15 minutes of waiting I waved to him to ask where our bill was. We received the bill within seconds after asking a second time.
Overall, we had a great experience with the food, but it was unfortunately let down as by the fact we felt ignored.

Brillaint place, excellent food, brill staff

I love ramen and Shoyru ramen is by far one of the best ramen I’ve had outside Japan! They make Hakata ramen with port broth and have many different flavours on their menu like red miso, white broth, curry, kimchi etc in addition to the standard broth which is great. They also have a nice selection of starters and non ramen dishes like buns and donburi, but the Takoyaki here is amazing and I really recommend it. I had the kimchi seafood ramen which was spicy but really flavorful. Service is very fast and efficient and the atmosphere is lively, quite like a ramen bar with seats for both groups and solo customers. Prices are moderate, not cheap but not too pricy either, expect to pay roughly £15 pp
A.
Always smiling and nice ramen. The whole atmosphere is amazing here.
M. M.
Great location and great food. Very friendly staff. P.S: chicken and meat are not halal but there is sea food and vegetarian options.
L. M.
Excellent food, staff very nice and friendly and the place has a very beautiful aesthetic!
J. R.
Excellent service - the staff took the time to go through the menu with us and offered some great food (octopus balls in particular) and drink recommendations. The portions were big and the food was really tasty. Would recommend.
G. Z.
Decent just like the Oxford one.
V. W.
Tasty food and lovely staff. They were friendly, super helpful and accommodating. Was pleasantly surprised by the takoyaki which was pretty close to the ones I had in Osaka, Japan. The spicy seafood kimchi ramen was tasty but I think could have had more kimchi and been a bit more spicy, but that's just my taste. Everything we had was delicious and I like that they ask you how you want you noodles cooked too!
M. j.
Fantastic experience. The set menu covers a good range of food and is reccomended by me and my grandma. I had the bun starter and their token ramen. I would try and avoid the lunchtime rush if possible but I can hardly rate down a place for being too popular.
T. o. T.
Lovely service and lovely staff! Kind but proffessional! I highly recommend this for a high end meal and experience!
A. B.
Ramen is not amazing but it gets 5 shticks because there so few good ramen places around.
T. T.
Lovely food. Friendly staff. First time trying genuine Japanese food with a friend. Their Takoyaki dish is really nice! Recommended visit if you want to try something different in Manchester.
A.
We arrived and they had missed our booking off so we had to wait to be seated. It then took 15 minutes for someone to come and take our drinks order. We ordered food and our starters came which were lovely however still no drinks. My Ramen was a little bland but that might have just been in comparison to my friend who had the Piri Piri. I would highly recommended the Wagyu bun it tasted amazing. Overall our experiences was nice but for the price we paid I would have expected a better service overall.
V.
Amazing food, atmosphere and staff, all were incredible can’t wait to eat here again!
E. T.
family of three dined in here last Friday. Atmosphere was lovely. Kids friendly. Could have a bigger table due to toddler (and all the crayons and drawing) but ends well. Food is fantastic. would recommend!
T. W.
Gooooood broth, excellent pork, high quality all over. Even the condiments were exceptional and well chosen. a little pricey but the staff are lovely and attentive. pink pickled ginger was piled on ours and im particularly sensitive as i have a very sensitive pallet, but a few pieces distributed throughout made it fresh and zesty. amazing quality hot oil.
L.
Friendly staffs, good food, but too crowded.
S. P.
Absolutely magnificent, no other words really. Lived upto the expectations I had set, and then surpassed them. The service is superb, they're quick, efficient and explain everything. If you're a Ramen veteran or a Ramen virgin, it's just a brilliant place to visit. Highly recommended.
H. G.
Pretty authentic Japanese food! Although the price is not so authentic, considering that Ramen is generally approximately the equivalent of £3-5 in Tokyo. and the price here are approx £12 for a bowl! The portions are pretty good and the atmosphere is fun too (especially with the shout of いらっしゃいませ which made me feel like I was back in Japan!).
G. C. C.
Beautiful food, friendly and helpful staff who are very knowledgeable about their products. The atmosphere was simply charming and helped me and my partner relax after a long day traveling and shopping.
Simply the best Takoyaki I've ever eaten and my partner fell in love with their Ramen. Will be returning here as soon as possible.
G. L.
The best authentic Japanese food I've ever had, I've only been in Manchester 5 days and I've already eaten here 5 times. The staff is friendly and helpful, the manager is absolutely hilarious, and most importantly the food is the best. Seeing as I'm only here a limited time I wanted to explore the different restaurants more, but the diverse flavours of Shoryu keep me coming back for more. Tomorrow is my last day here and I'll be going back for one final meal there. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant.
I. A.
Fantastic service from Kirsten and Duncan. Would definitely go back again.
I had the Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu Ramen and it was delicious. The broth was tasty. I wish the pork was chunkier but it was still nice. The stand out topping for me was egg which was beautifully savoury.
The Spicy Takoyaki was wonderful. It had a subtle but noticeable fishy taste.
The Chicken Katsu Curry was delicious. The curry sauce was perfect. The chicken was great but not the best that I've had.
The BBQ Pork Bun was wonderfully fluffy, and the pork was tender was delicious.
The Chicken Karaage was tasty but a little in the chewy side.

One of the only places I can find in Manchester that actually sells proper Japanese ramen! 🍜 Really would recommend it! Friendly staff, lovely restaurant, and a good spot for business (if a little hidden if you don't know exactly where to look). Inexpensive, good choice of food without too many options, and an authentic Japanese experience. おいしいだ!
E. T.
Absolutely wonderful, came here with my partner who has a nut allergy and they were more than accommodating. Food was the lovely, and the staff were brilliant. Highly recommend!!
F. “. M.
Always a favourite , whenever I want ramen in Manchester , Shoryu is my first choice . Staff is friendly and the food is always fresh.
T. J.
best place to have japanese ramen in the manchester downtown. staff are great and food is delicious.
R. B.
Excellent food, friendly staff, will be going again!!
T. S.
First time visit in this establishment and the food. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the taste, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I must say the food was so good that I can't wait for my next visit. I definitely recommend this establishment as it will most definitely tickle your taste buds!!!! Yummylicious.
A. E.
If you love soupy noodles, this is the place for you :-)
R. C.
Food quality is good, soup base authentic and not too much msg.
Noodles (disappointing let down) are vacuum packed ready made that are heated up in the nice soup base.
Staff are nice & please, however, manageress is too strict (like talking to an immigration officer) when ordering.
Pricing is little high for Manchester (more like London pricing).
A. S.
Food was good, staff members are friendly and polite. Would recommend this place for lunch/dinner
M. K.
Fantastic ramen! Great experience and super friendly staff.
E. M.
This restaurant is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I want to go to a fair lunchon, this place comes straight to my head. splendid and all sorts of food and a large menu.trained staff, and nice ambience. Also important, the cost is decent. I tell about this place with great pleasure.
A. A.
Great food and service thanks Dunca
N. L.
Went here with a friend and it was during the student Tuesdays hours. We got ourselves white natural ramen for £7 each.
Normally, I'm hesitant with vegan broth and I wouldn't be able to imagine how much flavour could possibly be in a vegan broth. The white natural changed everything I knew. It had a subtle creamy taste to it, alongside the mild saltiness of the savoury konbu flavour. I had the regular noodles, although next time I might order them slightly firm. I can certainly recommend the white natural for everyone, regardless of whether you're vegan or not.
J. T.
We came for a themed meal for Square Enix but the food was pretty great. The set menu was reasonably priced for a three course meal and the Tako Yaki was pretty true to traditional Japanese street food. Only complaint is that the second cocktail (off set menu) was £7 and was about a half measure rather than a full.
A. M.
4/5 for the food, 2/5 for the service. The food was good, although not amazing, and expensive for what it is. The service was incredibly hit and miss. The lady at the door was really lovely and helpful and run off her feet. The other servers were nowhere in sight and appeared to be just wandering round aimlessly when they did appear. It took 20 minutes to get someone's attention to get the bill, and the two guys at the next table were left without menus for the same amount of time, while the kitchen staff were stopping for a cup of tea. While there was a queue outside. Liked it, wouldn't go again.
H. K.
We love this place. Brought the family from out on the Wirral for a post-Xmas treat for what must be my 20th visit over the past 2 years. One the best restaurants in the UK! Certainly one of the very best on value for money as well. Everyone I've brought here has been converted!
R. S.
Absolutely sublime! We had the BBQ Pork Buns to start which were so tender and flavourful. I had the normal ramen and my wife the spicy one with minced pork. Both were the best ramen we've had in the UK. Broth was rich and delicious. The nitamago egg was done to perfection and the pork belly was superb. There's also a good selection of cocktails with Japanese twists and desserts. Price was very reasonable and service was super friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
P. B.
Superb service and excellent food in a lively restaurant that strikes an ideal balance. Attentive staff handled allergy questions with great care and consideration. Tasty food - had cucumber starter, as well as octopus balls, then Shoryu signature ramen for main. Thoroughly recommend; will return again, soon.
J. G.
Food was tasty, but overpriced and only 1 vegan main option. Service was quite slow, staff were friendly and enthusiastic
M. A.
My absolute favourite ramen place. Other restaurants claim to have real pork bone broth but this is the real deal. Everything I have had has been amazing. Dracula Ramen and a pint of frozen Kirin, what could be better?
S. L.
I came for the ramen and stayed for the whole menu. Great customer service.
J. G.
I meet friends in this place often! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I go to this spot frequently. The meals are great, the team is professional and the rates are fair. I enjoy meeting in this place for a tasty supper.
T. N.
Absolutely delicious. By far the best ramen I've had in the UK
N. S.
I can't recommend the Ramen enough, go there!!
M. T.
Stopped for a drink with friends and we were welcomed and guided to a seat and table promptly.
Decided on a couple of Japanese beers which turned out marginally less expensive than flying to Tokyo to get them from source, but hey, it tasted good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable.
S. A.
Small and cozy place. Was welcomed with a 'bong' which is quite nice.. you'll know what I mean if you go or have been already. I had a bun and a ramen which honestly was DELICIOUS! and my partner had some gyozos (sorry for the misspelling) and a ramen too.
Everything tasted very fresh. I took mine away because it was so much! And even after shopping around town and carrying this bag everywhere, the packaging was very durable and not a drop spoilt anywhere. Definitely 5 stars from me.
It's not fancy but definitely not just a fast food place either.
J. L.
I've eaten at two of the London branches, and not been impressed. I also tried this place a couple of times since it was open and really not been impressed, but last week - I gave it another shot - and I was pleasantly surprised.
I don't know if the recipe has changed or if it was just good on the day or whatever, but somehow things were different.
I'm solely referring to the extra meaty Tonkotsu option (I forget the name) - I can't recommend anything else I've tried - maybe other ramen is good, I always eat Tonkotsu, but all the side dishes I've tried have been poor.
Anyway, I'll go back for the Tonkotsu, if you haven't tried it - it's worth a go.
K. S.
Amazing place, got a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
R. K.
I really super love this place. But mainly go in the evening for dinner. Went once for lunch and the service was pretty awful the girl forgot to punch in our order, and then also for the guy at the table next to us she thought he had gotten his food when he didn't. The restaurant was empty as well! But the food is great, and any time we've been for dinner everything's been perfect. The manager is really friendly as well when he's around.
O. B.
Had dinner here and was blown away. The ramen was amazing and was truly authentic. Our waitress was really helpful and did an amazing job. Couldn't recommend it more.
J.
Loved it and so glad they have a branch in Manchester
C. R.
Delicious ramen and great Japanese beer from the tap. Only thing is the prices are a little expensive, however the quality is truly amazing.
D. K. S.
I went here on 27th Dec as i crave a nice Ramen and eventually i just had a bad day. Then the restaurant Manager, Duncan he cheer me up and tell me jokes to put a smile on my face. I really love how he manage the restaurant where everything seems busy, hectic but he still full of positive vibes, energetic and make sure every customer are satisfied and comfortable, He did a great perform! For the food, its the best ramen i've tried in the UK! I live in Birmingham but no ramen place can beat Shoryu! I swear everyone should go here!!!
P. E.
I was really looking forward to eating here and booked well in advance. Ate during the week so booking wasn't required. Place was full of Japanese people which is always a good sign.
Manager took our order, we thought he had a neat trick by not writing it down. Unfortunately he missed 2 parts of the order. JUST WRITE IT DOWN! lost 1 star for that but the meal was excellent, all good but probably don't oreder the frozen drink.
K. K.
Welcoming staff with lovely smile! The broth was very thick and delicious. Went for the standard firmness for the ramen which was great as well. The shop is very spacious (much more spacious than the one in London near Piccadilly)!!
B. G.
Perfect five stars. The Tonkotsu Ramen is beautiful. Perfectly balanced, perfect egg and the noodles were...you guessed it, perfect.
We had some chicken wings and tempura pork buns which were amazinginly fresh and tasty.
The Chefs, the decor and the staff were very friendly and professional. This restaurant could be placed in London, New York, LA and beyond and it would still be a hit.
Price is high but trust me it is worth it as this restaurant is a cut above the rest!
Much love to the Shoryu Manchester family.
D. I.
Came here for a decent ramen, left dissapointed. I can probably make a slightly worse one myself at home with insta noodles for a fraction of the price. To much raw garlic, broth lost all the flavours and it ruined dish as a whole. Would not recommend.
A. U. I.
It's fine. Bit expensive. The cold frothy beer they do is the worst drink I have ever had. But its what it's meant to taste of I suppose. Like a slush puppy of larger head. Gross.
M. H.
Decent value ramen but nothing amazing. Some staff were friendly others not so much.
n. T.
Delicious Japanese noodle and fried chicken
R. S.
I visit this great spot often! This is my favorite spot to pass a nice evening. I visit this spot many times. The meals are just great, the workers are courteous and the cost is good. I like eating in this place to have a good dinner.
I.
Amazing food and atmosphere, loved it.
J. B. (.
I went to Shoryu as it was holding a special promotion for FFXIV: Shadowbringers and was putting on a special themed menu.
The Takoyaki was amazing, as was the Bahamut ramen. The atmosphere was amazing and I truly enjoyed my time there.
A big shout out to the lady doing the reservations and seating, by some mishap I turned up a week early for my reservation, and despite being busy she was able to see us seated and looked after.
Top quality service and food! Will recommend to my friends, family and online acquaintances.
D. B.
Fast service, a good vibe, good staff, always buzzing AND buy one get one free buns on a Monday if you buy one of the mains- WINNING!!! Awesome place with awesome portions too- wowwww!!!! Truly WOW!!!! Been there twice in a week already. Very good!!! I can't wait to go back x
D. F.
We were greeted by the manager and then all of the staff and the manager attended to our entire order.
It was a nice touch m
The food was amazing and well presented.
Definitely coming back for more
K. V.
Great quality ramen and good customer service have been a couple of times now and never disappointed. The Hirata steamed buns are amazing.
It's location is ideal right on the foot of picadilly gardens.
The place itself is not a very large establishment so i would suggest booking in advance if you are going in larger groups as it can get busy around its peak times.
C. H.
A small establishment leads to a cozy feel. Staff are friendly and attentive and the food I have eaten here has always been great. Average prices but good for the quantity of food you receive.
T. P.
Amazing ramen - just sad they took my favourite dish off the menu! I will definitely revisit to find a new favourite though. A nice selection of beers and friendly staff.
J. R.
Good variety of ramen which is well priced. Flavours are wonderfully balanced. Staff are very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Only downside is the price of the drinks and sides which are on the expensive side.
J. E.
Best ramen in Manchester. Price is good for the quality and quantity. Staff are lovely and really set the atmosphere. Quality of food is excellent. Try the iced beer 🙂
K. B.
Best Ramen
D. H.
Shoryu Ramen was nothing short of amazing; the food was exceptional, the staff were amazingly approachable and friendly; and the drinks that were made for the theme night we went to were also out of this world. If you're in the area and enjoy ramen and Japanese culture, I 100% recommend a visit.
T. R.
Came for a special Final Fantasy meal day. Not my normal genre of restaurant but it certainly seemed like an authentic experience, with a huge amount of people here being ex-pats. For me the highlight was Teriyaki - incredible, everyone should try it. I think the main dish of Ramen bowls is something you will know prior to arriving if they are your thing or not. For me, despite being the best ramen bowl I'd seen, it has not changed my opinion on Ramen overall.
W. F.
It's a huge hit and miss. You can go there and wait 15 minutes without being served or even seated (happened 2 times so far) or have an ok ramen meal as the food is sadly nothing to write home about. It's busy mainly because the hype of the place.
A. H.
Good service, late in the day. Unfortunately the tonkotsu ramen is pork based, but I am very thankful to the waitress for pointing that out to me. The buns are delicious. There are various options re starters but in terms of mains, only three non-pork derived broth.
J. S.
This is as close as you can get to authentic Hakata style Tonkotsu in Manchester, particularly at this price. The staff was very efficient and our lead waitress in particular was super friendly! My wife and I enjoyed how light the tako karaage was and also enjoyed our respective Tonkotsu choices. I personally recommend the richer Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu. You get flavorful, fresh eggs, a decent, rich, creamy pork broth and pull-apart pork. While it didn’t quite match the best men-ya Tonkotsu I’ve had living in Japan, this gets genuinely close to the real thing and that’s plenty enough in the UK.
ごちそうさまでした!
S. L.
I always like to come here when I visit manchester. The food is good quality.
I love the pork belly bao. And ramen there. The portion is really good and usually I can't finish. The service is great.
C. H.
Delicious food and fantastic service. The ramen is amazing and the karaage is just perfect. They have nice sake too and a great variety of dishes. A perfect place to have a nice dinner or lunch. Just delicious!
K. H.
Really nice Ramen and the broth were delicious, also the bun were nice too. Would visit again. Highly recommend.
J.
Great ramen and katsu curry, awesome for lunch.
EDIT 4 MONTHS AFTER ORIGINAL REVIEW: I now go to this restaurant at least once a week, it is fantastic! The best ramen anywhere in Manchester, i dont recommend any other dish as the ramen is so good, and theres lots of selection for the ramen. A brilliant restaurant, hope it stays forever!
L. C.
A bit misleading photos on their website. I thought, the place would be a bit more spacious, but it is very small and loud - communal. Not very comfy for taller person. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is nice.
C. B.
Wife brought me Tonkotsu ramen home to try and all I can say is WOW what a dish , the flavour took me back to Tokyo where I first tasted this beautiful dish . Will definitely be popping in here for a sit down meal at some point
A. B.
Omg omg omg is how I would describe the food here. I stayed for 2 days in Manchester and went to eat there twice. Their signature porc beef ramen is absolutly divine. Rich smooth broth, meat melts in your mouth and the ramen are bouncy and hold the stock beautifully. Also , you must try their meat buns. Juicy meat in a light, puffy bun. I ate it in 20 seconds. Did not even understand where the delicious thing went. The staff are amazing, very friendly and warm. If you love japanese food, go there. Don't think about it. Just go and let yourself be amazed
V. K.
<Tl;Dr Four star for service & three star for food>Came here during lunch time with a small crowd already here. The staff were friendly and helpful. Menu was described in detail to first timers. For what is touted to be hakata ramen, the soup base was abit too thin for a ramen lover like me. Soup was a little too cold for me personally but it was edible. There was a choice of hardness of noodles which is nice but the noodles came out alot softer than expected. The marinated soft boiled eggs were perfect in texture but alas scores low in taste.
C. P.
Excellent food quality, plenty of choice and felt extremely safe, clean and sanitised, and screens between each table, definitely worth a visit.
L. H.
Ramen in Japan is essentially cheap healthy delicious fast food but Shoryu is a relatively pricey chain so the quality and the service better be excellent. The front of house manager at this branch is routinely unpleasant and controlling but staff like the super attentive and gentle Ruth make meals here a pleasure. The kitchen also maintain a good - but not stellar - standard.
