Yum I'd had some cakes to takeaway previously, which were delicious, this time we sat in and had pizza. So good! Amazing base, really light and crisp crusts and the toppings were excellent. The spinach and sausage was a particular highlight. We'll definitely be back

📍Caffè Rustico @ 101 Benfield Road Incredible Italian food, made from the heart. The pizzaiolo and owner, David, who happens to be an Italian gentleman, is such a friendly and passionate person. I was recommended to give this caffè a try multiple times. 🧑‍🍳With a consistent string of great reviews, Caffè Rustico stands to be a quaint, homely caffè with lovely Italian pizzas and other dishes at its finest. When Michelle and I were there, there were customers conversing in Italian with David, and it was evident that they were happy customers. We loved our experience there: 🍕Sombrero Siciliano - Mini Pizza with a 'hat' of puff pastry 🥧Cannelloni Ricotta Spinach ☕Hot Chocolate (Dark) I ogled at the other dishes available - Tiramisu, Lasagne, and the various Pizzas.. But I was already stuffed with my initial order. 🧑‍🍳Truly, it's impressionable, just watching David run the show - it's cuisine from the heart, something he really takes pride of. I will definitely have to try the other dishes!

Best Pizza outside of Italy!!! It's a real treat to find a cafe where the food is entirely hommade and crafted with passion. The owner and chef Davide is a real charater and brings his warm personality and traditional italian fare to the streets of Newcastle. My reccomendation? His pizza is legendary but ties joint first with his superb tiramisu.

This was such a lovely experience and the food was amazing. Authentic Rustic Italian food at its finest. A small cafe with the BEST pizza I have had in years. The flavour was so good and the crust was tasty. The lasagne was equally delicious. For dessert we had Canoli. Sweet but not too sweet, just the right amount of flavour. Most of the food is made by the Italian husband/wife owners who also gave us friendly conversation but also let us crack on with quiet work on the computer after my husband and I finished eating. The coffee was great too, an Italian brand. A visit is highly recommended.

Had a few takeaways and sat in once before. Went again yesterday afternoon with my partner and some friends from out of town and everyone absolutely loved it ! The reviews speak for themselves, it has to be THE best Italian food in Newcastle and the owner is super nice. The place is dog friendly as well which is always a bonus :)

Great service 👏, fresh pizza to die for , nice coffee and Italian treats galore 😋. Very small venue but I think that adds to the charm as you can sit and enjoy coffee while you watch your pizza being made . A small team of two so please be nice to them during busy times as they are already working super speed to keep up with in-house orders and online pick ups . I recommend the tiramasu but there are many other options to drop over . Light lunches also available and change regularly as most is homemade . Give it a go for yourself and reward yourself after a walk to get there .

Fabulous pizza! I loved the food and the friendly ambience here. Davide and his staff are welcoming and warm and rustle up delicious food tirelessly. The food has a real homemade feel made with fresh ingredients. I also had a custard tart which had a luscious custard filling topped with berries. I'll definitely visit again to try out the rest of the menu!

This little coffee shop was recommended by a friend and I'm so pleased it was. Coffee was great and the cake delightful. But this little gem is about more than the produce, the warm welcome and chat from the owner made you feel in the company of friends. Will be back very soon. Highly recommended.

We love coming here, the food is fantastic and the owner is so friendly and inviting. It's dog friendly and the owner even gave me a masterclass on how to make my own pizzas better! Cannot rate this place highly enough. Unassuming from the outside but well worth the trip!

Me and my dog Nellie came by on Sunday morning. This place is really special. I had an almond croissant, which was still warm from the oven. Just amazing…The best croissant I’ve had in England. I also picked up a lasagne and a spinach cannelloni to take home and warm up for tea. Which were both incredible. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Wasn't too sure I'd get a drinkable coffee(I'm fussy) round here when I needed to fill a couple of hours waiting for a car fix. Now I'm trying to work out how many ways I can invent to get back ! Great coffee, great food, very accommodating, wifi. Started with croissant and coffee then had to take half my pasta away in a box as it was too good not to. 9.5/10 on my coffee scale :)

This is an extraordinary Italian style Coffee Shop run by a young entrepreneur from Sicily. Everything is home-made and and fresh every day. He insures that by starting at 6 o’clock every morning. There is always a selection of Italian pastries on the front, but having the cooking area with the counter, he can literally make anything to order, within reason. All the pastors and pizzas I made fresh while you’re waiting for either a takeaway or what I did was enjoy a beautiful coffee and watch the master at work making it for my table.

Absolutely fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious, especially with the fresh dough. The classic tiramisu is unbelievable how fresh and rich it is. Such a nice place inside, made all the better by a friendly welcome and a good chat with the owner. The coffee is brilliant too, nice and strong but not leaving any bitter aftertaste. Fantastic cafe. Popped in for a coffee and pistachio cornetto, which was fabulous. Owner really friendly. The owner's children had left lovely little notes on the tables. Lovely decor. There were lots of other tempting things on the menu. Will just have to call in again to try the pizzas, pastas, desserts.

Absolutely fantastic little cafe. We visited here today for the first amd definitely not the last time. The food is amazing and such a great take on quick but great tasting homemade food. I'm pretty sure we tried nearly everything and it was all beautiful from arancini balls, miniature pizzas and pistachio croissants. It was all great. The coffee is fantastic too. To top it off the owners are so friendly and its great to have somewhere close to now pop in for a great coffee and lunch

We went in so many different italian cafes over the last years, but this is the best ever in Newcastle: coffe and croissants (we tried the one with homemade custard, which I recommend) were absolutely delicious. Authentic Italian style. Super recommended.

We popped in with our greedy dog Jett. The very friendly owner made proper carbonara as we waited. Jett loved the guanciale! Tiramisu and melt in the middle puddings were also lovely. Will definitely come back.

Amazing and truly authentic Italian food. So good that we had to come back the next day for breakfast to taste the delicious cornetti with pistacchio and capuccino. Warm hospitality and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
