Lovely food and cocktails. The burrata is absolutely delicious! Pizzas are good too, lovely sourdough base. The menu is extensive and there would definitely be something for everyone. There's a large selection of cocktails too; I would recommend the lychee martini. Will definitely return in the future.

A very nice place in a very nice part of Newcastle. The menu is very Italian and quite varied, with good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Delicious pasta, pizza and orzotto with lots of flavour and great presentation. The service was pleasant and quick. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had a VERY good experience with my family in Gusto! Not only from the great food, but also from the EXTREMELY friendly staff! I ordered Gusto’s Classic Burger, which is a wagyu beef burger. It was good, but I won’t recommend it for beef lovers, because it doesn’t taste as it should be. That’s not strange from Italian restaurant. We also ordered margarita pizza, Homous (not as good as Arabian homous), and rossito, all of which were good.

Superb choice and really good food. Have only eaten here a couple of times as only an infrequent visitor to the region but on both occasions had the same brilliant experience. Some good cocktails and drinks available. The service is friendly and professional and my family love it here too. Ambience and decor very nice indeed.

Rather disappointing visit yesterday. Have previously visited Gusto Liverpool, which is lovely and Leeds, which was good too. The Newcastle venue was a little shabby in comparison and felt in need of a refurb. Our first impressions weren't good as we approached from the rear and the back door was open, looking a little grubby inside and 2 staff outside smoking. We were warmly greeted by Monica who was faultless throughout and seemed to be doing most of the work. Butternut squash risotto starter was undercooked, congealed, salty and neither tasted nor smelt very pleasant. I never send food back but felt necessary on this occasion and Monica dealt with this very well. Focaccia starter was microwaved which is never going to do bread any favours. Pizzas were generally good. Despite having 50 percent off offer on, I feel the food should still be up to scratch otherwise customers will not return. Staff need to be sorted. One male waiter was stood at the pass, a female waitress in front of him and he had his arms around her with her back to him, while they chatted with the chef. Not very professional. Another member of staff went upstairs crying, which my partner witnessed. Monica is a gem for this restaurant.....the only joy in our visit today unfortunately.

Food is absolutely amazing! Staff are so friendly & welcoming & can't do enough for you. The butternut squash risotto was delicious, my friends had the steak & sea bass & said both were fantastic. The desserts were to die for. Everything was to a very high standard. We even got complimentary prosseco 🥂 the drinks were quite pricey but as everything was so lovely we couldn't complain. Definitely worth a visit.

Very pleasant experience. Right next to the millennium bridge. Lovely building and nice set up inside. We sat upstairs, which was charming (see photo). Nice relaxed atmosphere. Efficient and attentive waiting staff,who were helpful. Nice cocktails and extensive drinks selection. Ate from the evening menu, which was reasonable at 16.95 for 2 courses. Very happy with the food. Calamari was excellent. Mains were nicely presented and tasty. Very happy to recommend.

Had a great evening here celebrating my partners daughters 18th. Fro being greeted at the door to leaving was a one of the nicest dining experience we have had in a while. The service we had from Joe and Jason was first class and nothing was to much trouble. Food was great, very tasty and fresh. Would definitely recommend trying this restaurant sometime soon.

Table booked for 4 of us, 3 of us had the festive menu and 1 from the other menu. All the meals were perfect, often Christmas meals can be disappointing, but not this one, it was perfect. I have never known such smiley, friendly, happy staff, all so lovely but big thank you to Joe who waited on our table, lovely lad.

Lovely atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more helpful! I have an allergy and they reassured me my meal would be prepared away from the area. I had a pepperoni pizza and my partner had seabass. Firstly i’ll start off with the upholstery and atmosphere which is absolutely flawless it really is a lovely place to sit in and eat. The location is also fabulous with the restaurant situated by the Tyne river on the quayside. The food was also up to scratch and was very tasty. However I was slightly overcharged for 2 drinks and a portion of chips and I didn’t notice this until I had driven quite a long distance to get back home and not a feasible distance to go back into the restaurant and ask questions. This review is based off around a year ago so the problem is no longer really relevant to me anymore but I just thought i’d mention it.

Not the most imaginative menu and the fact it's situated behind pitcher and piano blocks most of the nice quayside view. It's a somehwat unknown gem, fantastic service from enthused staff! Sadly the food is average-good; not super imaginative and expensive for smallish portions of nice food. Always happy to go. Tip: go here for food and finsih your night in pit her and piano with the never views!

Efficient and friendly staff. My husband had the primavera risotto and enjoyed it. I had the lasagne but I was disappointed with it. As a main it was a small portion. I actually asked if they'd brought me a starter sized portion, they assured me it was a main. It tasted OK but not great. I've definitely had better ones. The glass of Prosecco I had was good. It was lovely to eat outside on a hot night.

Visited Gusto last night the service was good and there was a decent atmosphere, the restaurant felt safe with social measures in place. The food wasn't amazing I'd have to honestly say it was average I ordered risotto and it wasn't bad but it just wasnt good. My girlfriend ordered a garlic chicken spaghetti dish and it was just dripping in garlic oil it kind of over powered the dish, the food was more like well presented pub food so I don't think the price is all that fair. Drinks are expensive and but that is to be expected in a restaurant. In summary the place is nice overall just don't expect amazing dishes.

We wanted to take friends for dinner and I spent ages looking online to find a restaurant. I found Gusto and looked at their menu which seemed reasonably priced. When we got there last night though, the prices on their physical menu were more expensive than the online menu. I was a bit annoyed by this. The service was a tad slow, but the food was really good (albeit I felt the portion sizes were quite small. I had the main saffron & ragu risotto, and there was about 2.5cm left all around the base of a pasta dish. I would guess maybe 2 spoonfulls of risotto and barely half a spoon of ragu. We sat outside and the pillows were quite dirty as well as the backrests of the benches. If you're looking for value for money, maybe not the best choice, but if you're a light eater, probably a good choice.

Loved Gusto, food great and venue was supurb. You could have a relaxed social gathering but you could where best finary as the venue could take it. Gusto must have used the best of interior designers as it's a must for the selfie orientated customer. From the upper floor you could see the millennium arch through a curtain of subtle lighting. We used to go here alot pre lockdown. Sat outside in the wind and rain but to be fair they do have canopy's over the tables with electric heaters. An extra touch is that we were also given blankets which the kids loved. Food and service as always absolutely fantastic!

Ambience and service was fantastic, although it seems somewhat understaffed on the night I visited - they seem to be buzzing around a lot and I had to catch their attention a few time for service. A good selection of quality Italian wines. Food was great too, but no surprises considering what you're paying for. Special credit to the bartender who whipped up a PERFECT cocktail not on the menu after asking about my favourite tastes. Will definitely go back for the cocktails at least!

I had a good experience here - although I thought the food was quite pricy. The burger was nice, although I thought more than £15 was quite pricy as I have had better burgers for cheaper. However, the place itself was really nice, service brilliant, and the measures put in place were really good. I would definitely be willing to return, just maybe try something different next time.

Visiting in newcastle rather than Liverpool as we usually do was a delight!!! (The food was actually nicer than the scouse variant) and the staff were extremely friendly and made the night 10x better with their jokes and smiles!! Food was delicious and the Italian merlot red wine was a tasteful option to add on! Would recommend for a good night out and its right on the river so you can go for a romantic walk after your meal! 10/10 will return to go again.

I had the pleasure of enjoying their very first roast Sunday Lunch - in this case some very tender pink lamb, with a wide variety of vegetables, a perfect Yorkshire pudding and extra gravy. Delicious. Two of my companions were seven years old and had fun building their own pizzas and being escorted to the kitchen to see them go for their final bake. The staff are wonderfuly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a visit.

The service was superb, very friendly and helpful. As you will have read in the other reviews, it is quite pricey. This is not an issue for those who would argue that you receive sufficient quality in return for this price. However he carbonara was particularly bland and the £16 duck breast (although suggested by the waiter to be cooked pink) came out cooked to an extent under that of rare. As a result it was particularly chewy. Nevertheless, the interior is very appealing and the service is great.

Strange setup inside compared to Edinburgh branch. No front of house staff, had to go to the bar to ask where we had to sit as we had a reservation. Barman then went to find someone. Waiter was nice, checked on us when needed. Quick to get the bill. Food filled us both up (garlic bread and pizzas). Would go again. Lights are a tad too bright or too low for my liking but pleasant evening

This is the first time I have visited but it won't be the last. The staff were very attentative and made sure we were well looked after, from making sure we had a great table and water to hand, drinks replenished straight away with out having to call someone over to making sure our younger guests were looked after with high chairs and crayons and paper to keep them entertained. We placed our order and and the children were given their pizza bases to fill with the toppings of their choice and were then allowed to carry their finnished pizzas to the chef who then placed them in the ovens. Then what seamed like 5 min our food arrived all together piping hot even though we were a party of 12. I had ordered the tagliatelle with Salmon and Dill in a cream sauce. When it arrived it looked amazing but I was apprehensive as I have had salmon before in other establishments which have not tasted as good as they look. The Salmon was melt in the mouth and the pasta was beautifully cooked. All the other guests cleared their plates and we all agreed that the food had been amazing and that we would all be returning at a later date to give each others choice a try. As it was my daughters Birthday we had brought our own Birthday cake and waiter brought it over at the end of the meal with candles lit and started off the singing of Happy Birthday. He then brought over side plates so we could share the cake out. We ordered tea's and coffee's and then asked for the bill we were again surprised to find that 50% of our bill had been discounted as they have a special offer for the whole of January. So all together a great experience and we will definitely be returning and will be recommending Gusto to all my friends and family.

We love Gusto! Always eat here when we come to Newcastle. Love the atmosphere, the huge airy room, beautiful lighting, view over the Tyne. Superb vegan options. So lovely to be in a "normal" resto with "normal" people and nevertheless have a choice of vegan options! The spelt risotto was very tasty and the chocolate and orange tart was divine. Helpful and friendly staff also.

I have just been to gustos Newcastle quayside. This is the first time out since lockdown and must admit the staff were fabulous in advising how things are in place for social distancing. The meal me and my daughter had was absolutely gorgeous. We both love the garlic dough petals, I had the 3 meat Lasagne which has to have been the best Lasagne I've ever had. Without a doubt the best Damn steak I have ever had in Newcastle, I could not believe the quality of the food and service. A little worried by the price at first but oh boy was that worth it. The staff were very helpful especially when I couldn't find the toilets. Will be returning.

Been for a Mother’s Day lunch. Very busy and struggling to cope to be honest, luckily we weren’t in a hurry but the service was slow. The food was adequate and over salty for our taste, not as good as Piccolinos around the corner in our opinion.

Normally so fabulous so I must have come on an 'off' night? But my partner felt the same too. I has pâté for starter, which was fabulous but came with two tiny scraps of Melba toast- with a large portion of pate? I asked for more and they brought me another two - not enough ! More toast or less pate... to allow for a desert ( usually he highlight for me) I opted for a Caesar salad with chicken. Disappointing. The lettuce was soggy, the dressing tasteless, no offer of Parmesan - which is normally shaved on top- the chicken was tasteless- altogether just a very very average and tasteless Caesar salad. So I hoped my desert made up for it. I order the same as I ordered last time, basil and mint panna cote with plum compote. Last time it was beautifully presented and absolutely Devine. This time it came on what looked like a child's dish, and the presentation was very poor. The plum compote was three times the amount required for the tiny portion of pana cote and totally overwhelmed it. The compote was coarsely made with great chunks of plum - for such a delicate desert, total over kill. And the pana cote was not at all flavoursome. My partner had muscles which he thought were average. Then the pork saltimbocca which was good. Maybe it was the things I chose but every dish should be properly thought through and properly presented. At least for five stars it should. Waiter was attentive and the location is fabulous. Maybe I have just come to expect too much from this restaurant.

"A small step up from most Italian chains" Went here for dinner while visiting a friend who doesn't live too far away. Didn't get off to a great start as they has lost our reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in as long as we were out in 1.5hrs. Breads for starter were nothing special. I had the duck for main which was cooked just right and the accompanying beans were tasty. My wife's risotto was good and another party member had steak which was cooked just as requested too. I had the brownie for dessert which was ok but nothing special and my wife had the "Bombolinos" mini donuts which weren't that good. Service was ok apart from the reservation thing, but not amazing. Overall, I think it was a step up from Zizzi's or Ask and I would choose it over those in the future, but only if there was nothing better around.
