It's serving homemade Italian foods and desserts. It's a lovely atmosphere and outstanding food. The staff are warm, friendly and provide exceptional service. The team communicate with us through gestures and make sure that we understand each other as we are deaf. Very comfortable and warm its feel like we are in Italy! The food was delicious, and we'll definitely be visiting again in the future. If you're a fan of Italian food, you'll not be disappointed. Believe me, their foods - WOW!

You can’t go wrong eating at an Italian restaurant. I’m a pescatarian and always try the fish dishes when I eat out. The waiters at Pani’s Cafe were extremely accommodating as we were a large group. My prawn starter was adapted due to my allergies and so was my main course of sea bass. I can’t fault the food or the service. Absolutely lovely waiting staff and chefs. Definitely visit here again when I come back to Newcastle

Managed to get a table here and very pleased that we eventually came. Staff were so helpful with the pram and baby changing facilities are on site. Lovely food, including the garlic bread with cheese and the pasta. Initially brought wrong wine over but changed with no hassle. Lovely time, good food, helpful staff, what more could you want!

Been here afore with friends from work, was on a visit back to Newcastle, as had to move away due to Covid. Had the pan fried Chicken, was Amazing!! Full of flavour with herbs and spices, big portion, sizzling hot, washed down with a lovely glass of wine. Great service, with very friendly staff. So firstly I should point out that that we neither knew where Pani's was nor that it existed, but have been bought a voucher for Christmas we finally booked up for last night & the first that I noticed from the outset is that reserving a table is a must to avoid disappointment as for the time we were there at least it remained busy, comfortably so though not so much that you weren't impeccably attended to, and it would be a shame if you missed out on this delightful culinary experience by not having booked your table - that should be review enough, but I will elaborate. Pani's was lovely all round, from the stripped back & pleasant interior with bespoke fixtures just enough of the beaten track to make you feel that you're away from all the commotion of the city, to the friendly welcoming staff & most importantly of course, the food. The food was just amazing, the 4 of us ate a selection of dishes from across the starter, main & desert menus.... and whilst my only note of ever so slight criticism might be the limited choice of dishes... it's clear to see from the quality produced that this is quaint rather than limited. What we ordered was all correct, well presented & very tasty - not one of the four us had anything other than satisfied contentment for everything we ate, thank you. The bill came to £171, which for what we ate & drank across the 4 of us (including an £18 bottle of wine) I would say was fair & averagely priced, but way more importantly that the cost was the value, which we definitely thought was worth it!....... Enjoy! 😉😋

My wife took me here for a celebratory meal after having it recommended by her boss. I cannot praise Panis enough for our lovely visit. First off, the service was outstanding. The young girl serving us was really pleasant and answered any questions we had. Secondly, the food. Oh my god, the food was amazing. It has to be up there with one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. Even the thought of the flavours are making my mouth water again. Third and finally the cost. I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive than it was,especially as its in Newcastle city centre. Will definitely recommend this place and will be going back.

It's my boyfriend's favorite Italian restaurant in Newcastle so I had high expectations and I was not disappointed at all. :) The Service was excellent, the waiter was friendly and welcoming. He helped me with the menue and made sure to answer all my questions. The food was scrumptious and the price was right. To round it all up I had a really good Coffee. Definitely comparable with my favorite Italian restaurants in Berlin. If I ever visit Newcastle again, I will come again. Thanks alot!

Upon first glance this seems like a rather small restaurant, however once inside you realise how large and also how popular it is, not only with the locals but also with Italians. The service, food and location (right in the centre of the city) were all excellent. The menu had a large range of authentic Sardinian dishes from pasta to various seafood and meat dishes. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and most of them are Italian. Would highly recommend and am interested in visiting again to try something different.

Personally recommend the Roberto’s Fregula 😋 It can get super busy on performance nights so book ahead but don’t worry service and food is speedy!

This is a fabulous place to eat. The food is delicious. The service is fast. The prices are cheap. The decor has been updated in the last year which has modernised it and given it a rustic look. This has got to be my favourite place to eat. Beats all the chain Italian places easily. Finally tried a dessert as well as normally I can't finish my plate of food as the portions are fantastic but this day I was absolutely starving. It's also has options for gluten and vegan diets. My 8 year old daughter also loved the food and she's a picky eater so any place new she tries some of my food and sticks to what she knows. (They do great chips) the waitress was happy to provide an additional small plate to accommodate this.

Made a booking on the spur of the moment whilst sitting in a pub a few yards away early evening on a Saturday in a busy Newcastle city centre. Excellent service, quality food and drink, very interesting venue being much bigger than it looks. A top quality restaurant, that serves Italian food, but with a strong Sardinian influence. This means that there are many dishes that you won't find in a regular Italian and I found the food to be superb. The prices are decent and very good value for the quality of the food. The staff are friendly and attentive, without being pushy and the service was really quick, despite the restaurant being very busy. There is a very good amount of choice on the menu and they have additional daily specials too. An excellent restaurant, which I thoroughly recommend.

Previous review said "Great Italian" After revisiting more recently though the room has been made more comfortable, less old style Italian, and instead comfortable booths. The waiting staff seemed to have very fixed roles. Tricky to get served initially. Espresso Martini was super sweet. The quality did not seem quite as good as it was.

This is a fabulous authentic Italian restaurant. They don't do pizza but the food is fantastic. Its staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and efficient. You can spend time there practicing your Italian or grab a quick meal before the theatre. It's great for lunches and evening meals. Very family orientated children are very welcome. It's got a bussley happy atmosphere, it's open every day except Sunday. Love it.

I’ve been coming here for well over ten years and watched how it’s grown over time - it may have got bigger but the quality of the food, the tentative staff, customer service is impeccable. Little Sardinian gem!!! The Farmhouse sharing platter to start is well worth choosing if there is two to share. A good blend of Italian cured meats and cheeses with fresh bread. Not too much prior to a main. The Bistecca Porcini was very good. Some vegetables as an option rather than just salad or chips would have been welcome but that's being too critical. Pani's staff as always in great form. Go here.

OMG!!! So, my mate Peanut speaks Italian, so I thought we'd give this place a try, soley on that basis I wasn't expecting much, you know, pizza, spaghetti, pasta... Well, what a great menu, pizza isn't even on the menu! I don't eat meat, and there was a brilliant choice for me. I had the stew and Peanut had the aubergine pasta off the specials. Its an amazing little restaurant. Highly recommended!

My family and I have been going to Pannis since 1995 when it opened. It has never failed to please. Typical warm and welcoming staff that you expect from an Italian restaurant. The food is high end Italian, but with the added ingredient of Sardinia. There is no pizza on the menu!! Thats got to be applauded. We love this place!

Beautiful food, generous portions, a lovely relaxed meal. We had all three of the bruchetta starters plus some olives between the four of us, we all commented on how nice everything was and each starter was big enough to split into four and still seem like you were getting a decent mouthful. The mains were great too, thick slabs of lasagne, bowls of steaming pasta with great flavour combinations and a creamy cheesy chicken dish that nearly had me liking the plate, the sauce was that good. This is a great little place, if a little tricky to find for those of us who don't know Newcastle. It's located on what feels like a narrow back street (not a "high bridge" as the road name implies) and on arrival it feels small. Once inside though you drop down a couple of steps and the main room of the restaurant is in a cellar of sorts located to the rear, and has lots of tables. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the menu has plenty of choice. There are lots of unusual dishes here. For starters I opted for Pani's Bruschetta, which unlike other bruschettas I've had elsewhere was actually bread with olive paste, sun-dried tomatoes, and cheese on top, and was delicious. For my main course I chose the culurgiones, which were pasta parcels filled with cheese, potato, mint and garlic, in a tomato and basil sauce. I've never seen these before and they were lovely. A really enjoyable meal, and I'll definitely return when I'm next in Newcastle.

Pani's is a legendary Newcastle Italian pasta restaurant (no pizzas). Such a homely, friendly, welcoming place. Staff are Italian and I have been visiting here for years. The food is always speedily delivered and delicious. I always go for a Bruschetta Con Crudo and Pani's Penne which has a distinct Pani's tomato base for the sauce which is incredible. The dessert options are truly amazing also. I rate Pani's as No 1 pasta restaurant in Newcastle. It is always very busy, I recommend you go early than peak time.
