Excellent choice for our large group. The nexus is extensive and everyone said the food was top notch. The prices were reasonable, too. I would recommend if you fancy an Italian meal. It has great vibe, friendly and efficient staff and very tasty dishes.

The Place is very warm and cozy, the staff are approchable. Delicious italian food with generous servings. The Uno Bruschetta is recommendable. There were a few choices for the desserts but the homemade cheesecake was delicious-it was not too sweet. The prices are middle range and affordable.

I've been coming here for years but have been away from Newcastle for quite some time. Yesterday I came back with my 2 friends we had the happy hour pizzas and they were fantastic as always. I had the pepperoni and I think the food is the best its ever been. I had potato skins for starters which were cooked perfectly. The lady who served us (I didn't get her name but she was a blonde lady) was absolutely lovely! So warm and friendly and very attentive. Overall another great experience in one of my all time favourite places for lunch! It was very busy so I recommend you book a table.

Great venue, despite being extremely busy, the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Cannot recommend it enough, even my very picky 11 year old son cleared his plate and I quote " the carbonara is better than mums" if that's not a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is. A well deserved 5 stars.

Tried this place as a visitor to Newcastle. Was lucky to get a table as it was busy. Good interesting selection, of popular Italian dishes and also more adventurous options. I chose cannelloni which was tasty, piping hot and nicely presented. The staff were pleasant and helpful, I accidentally dropped a knife (arthritis in my hands not helping). The waiter swooped in to the rescue with a clean knife. Didn't even need to ask 😀 Would definately recommend and go back again. Will book a table next time.

Visited here for a meal on a work trip. The food was awesome. Staff were friendly and for a decent meal of two courses and plenty of beer it came to 30 quid each which I thought was extremely reasonable. I can recommend the calzone! Fantastic. Bellissimo!!

I heard a lot of good reviews of this place from a lot of locals so been to the restaurant and I agree with them. The place serves a 2 course lunch for £7.50 with very nice vegetarian and meaty options and a 3 course deal for £9.75. The garlic bread is huge and very nice. The brushetta bread is nice as well. Finally the pizzas are really good, crispy and considerably big which would definitely fill you up. Definitely worth visiting.

This place is just brilliant. Been coming here sporadically for nearly a decade now. What brings me back? It’s got to be the calzone with a jug of bolognaise on the side.. 😻 Fantastic food, friendly service and great portions. Good range of specials as well (to choose starters and pud from!)… Nice quayside location. Near the Redhouse for post dinner drinks. Let’s not leave it two years next time 🙌🏼

Popped in ad hoc without booking and were accommodated with a table. Happy days. Unfortunately there was a large group in the back room near us & the noise was deafening. Literally couldn't hear each other. Other tables looking over at the group obviously hoping they would realise but sadly not We spoke to the waiter about the noise however it continued. I don't know if the group were actually spoken though to be fair. During the main course, the waiter said he had spoken to the manager & asked if we would like a table in the front dining area away from the party. As we were nearly finished our food at this point, we declined & plodded on. We finished our food & asked to be moved which again was accommodated. The food was decent, king prawns & Arancini to start. Salmon steak & chick Kiev for main & 2 bottles of Malbec. Bill came to just over 100 quid so not too badly priced. The waiter was really nice & to be fair, this probably is a really nice restaurant but my experience won't see me going back in a hurry simply due to the noise and what appeared to be a lack of assertiveness from manager to deal with the situation and consider the impact on all other paying diners.

Called in for lunch yesterday. As well as the full menu, there's a set menu for under £11 each for a 3 course meal, which we had - The Italian sausage and black bean soup was gorgeous. The chicken cacciatore very tasty. The sticky toffee pud was also excellent. The only downside is that the mains come with rice but don't come with veg (I missed that on the menu - maybe my fault) Have been before and will certainly call again as the service is very good too

Omg.... The best food ever. I almost cried when i had to leave my left over pizza as there was not a fridge in our hotel room! It really was the best pizza i had ever tasted. I had the vegetable one it was very tasty. I love the way the restaurant seems to be in a cave and the floors are flagstones. The ambiance is lovely and the place was buzzing. Great proper family restaurant. The staff understand and tolerate kids, which is a God send when you've got three U10. Food is spot on Italian fare, tasty and filling. Wine and beers equally so. Prices are very good for a city centre. Highly recommended.

This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Run by Italians with quirky artwork on the walls. It is in the basement, under an Indian restaurant, has ambient lighting with a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The food is top notch, it looks and tastes delicious. Portion sizes are generous. My starter was the soup of the day, leek and potato soup and I could have gone home, after that, satisfied. The lasagne was enough for 2 people. It's family friendly. When I went, there was a large family party and they had children. 5* in my book.

Great to see Uno's still open - like one of the previous reviewers I last came here about 20 years ago when I lived in the area. Was still the same high quality food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Lovely traditional menu, lots of choices of food and drinks. We had a tuna pizza and a mediterranean risotto, a salad, two cocktails and a large glass of wine - all for less than £45 (on a Thursday so no discount). Food was fresh and hot and came really quickly. Highly recommend.

We attended a meal for a small group of 6 and the service was excellent. The food itself is really good, proper Italian food and the other options were equally as good. I had some chicken wing starters and a fillet steak as a main. The chicken was cooked well, juicy, and flavourful. The steak was medium rare and was delicious. This would be more that 5 stars if it could be! We were visiting family and had booked in to eat here for 8.30pm. When we arrived they were extremely busy and our table was not ready, but the owner came over to us and apologised and said he would have us to our table as quickly as possible and gave us all a drink. The previous customers were not moving very quickly (no fault of the restaurant) so were longer than expected but the owners really looked after us, so we did not mind waiting. We ordered our food and wine, which were absolutely gorgeous. We ordered desserts and when the bill came, due to the wait , they had made a very generous discount. We cannot fault the service, the staff, the food and would highly recommend this restaurant, we have been before and will defiantly be going back. Their service was not 10/10 it was 15/10. If only other businesses offered this level of customer service. Well Done, Thank you and see you again soon.

I have visited Uno's 5 times in the past year, and 4 of these visits have been good. The food is fresh and homemade, not the best around but good quality overall. The restaurant itself has an interesting feel to it, with it being underground, but it doesn't feel cramped. However, when busy the food and service is poor, I waited over 25 minutes for starters which I could've easily made myself to a higher standard. On the plus side, the staff are very friendly and when quieter the food and service are great.

We had a delicious meal in lovely surroundings all for a very comfortable price. To finish the evening you are a short walk from the Quays which was full of fairy lights and lively bars.

My wife and l arrived in time for the early evening happy hour meal deal, two courses for £10.95. Amazing! We both started with the meatballs in a rich tomato and herb sauce - magnificent. My wife's main course was spaghetti carbonara and l had a Napoli pizza (anchovies, capers and black olives). Both dishes were fantastic. 10/10 for everything. By the time we left, the restaurant was completely full and there was a queue forming down the street. We just happened to get lucky, and how! We plan to return very soon, before our holiday is over. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Been many times to Uno's and always enjoyed the food and service. However last weekend we booked for my daughters 18th birthday as she loves Uno's but were very disappointed. When i booked they made a note it was her 18th but she never got so much as a happy birthday, a drink or even a cupcake with a candle in. We spent £120 that night and no effort at all was made from Uno's to make it a special night for her which was really disappointing. Won't be going back.

The restaurant is lovely. The atmosphere is that of a traditional Italian eatery with a touch of Geordie inspiration. We did have to make a reservation as we were a larger group, and the restaurant tends to be quite busy. Among the group we shared the two pizzas; the Kiev and the Piccante. While both very taste, I wished that the Kiev had a little more flavour and the Piccante, more spice. However, for the value (we went during happy hour), the portion was sizable, which is a refreshing find in Newcastle. For dessert, we had some warm brownies with ice cream and a sticky toffee pudding. My brownie came out cold and was a bit disappointing however, the kitchen was quick to make me a new one. Overall, an enjoyable experience. (3/5) Would recommend.

Chose Uno's as have been there a few times over the years and always had a lovely meal. I have recently been diagnosed as celiac so have to eat gluten free which to my delight they did. However after arriving with my friends i noticed gluten free was £2 extra. I felt discriminated against. It is a medical condition that i have to abide with. First time we have been to Uno and we weren't dissapointed, the staff are very polite and attending, the restaurant has lovely decor and a welcoming atmosphere, we were served drinks whilst we waited for our table as we were early, the menu was comprehensive with more than enough to choose from, we both had garlic prawn starters which were fresh and delicious for main course I chose the chicken UNO style whilst my other half had his usual steak, both meals were full size with the usual trimmings, ice cream to finish all delicious Prices were very reasonable for a restaurant like this and they even waived the first drinks even though the 20 min wait was not there fault Definitely would recommend this place 5 stars from us Rachel xx
