Food used to be good value but has become expensive. Delivery charges now add to cost. Food is average but better than some, so it's our favourite for vegetarian options. Best meat dish is Dragon Fire.

Ordered my fist delivery from here today and was limited to where was open on a Bank Holiday Tuesday and who would deliver to Cowes. I’m pleased I gave this place a go as the food arrived promptly and was still piping hot. I had the schezun bean curd and vegetable chow mein. Both were delicious and worked well together and I’m pleased the noodles were thin as I prefer them this way. Would definitely order from them again. Delivery driver turned up with his young son and both were very friendly and wished me a Happy New Year.

Doesn’t look much on entry but the service and food were spot on. Located in the town centre it’s well worth a visit

I visited on a weekday evening for dinner and ordered the vegetarian spring rolls (good) and the seasonal vegetables with rice (excellent! Vegetables still with a bit of crunch in a light, tasty sauce) and would recommend this to others. The green tea was proper loose leaf in a teapot and the food was tasty, generous portions and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, the restaurant warm and clean. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Newport. I believe that dim sum are on the evening menu but didn't try it when I was there.

Arrive early for our reservations on a very busy night with a large number of guests. We was accommodate very quickly despite being busy. Very nice staff and very fast service. Food was great and super tasty and we was served very fast even it was busy. Portions was very large for each dish everyone orders and super tasty. Looking forward to coming back.

Very good covid arrangements. Spacious dining area with plenty of space between tables. Staff masked. Plenty of sanitiser. This was first meal out a few weeks ago, since first lockdown. Food is good but can be a little bland - that said it tastes like they use less MSG than other places which is good if, like me, you can struggle to sleep after MSG. Takeaway food was always prepared quickly and the staff were friendly. Eating in and, particularly drinking there, can work out expensive though.

Staff were extremely friendly and polite. We ordered our usual favourites, which came to us well presented and was very tasty. The decor and ambience of the restaurant is very bright and imaginative. Their prices are actually very reasonable. I would recommend without hesitation!

Egg fried rice is what you expect but.... Very small portion.... Chow main is cooked with number 2 noodles (ie thin noodles) but was still cooked ok, not soggy. Curry sauce was ok but was missing something and could have been slightly hotter. A lot Better than most. The Hong Kong special was meant to be chillie garlic. You can just taste the garlic slightly but no chilli heat to it.. bit very nice though. . Nice and crispy veg in all the above not under cooked. Meat I would score 9 out of 10. That's a good score for me!. Probably one of the nicest meat from a Chinese takeaway I've had around the UK. So well done there's Hong Kong house! The beef is very good. I would definitely order again. The only reason I gave 4 stars is it could have been better curry sauce and a little less SMG in the fried rice and bigger portion. See you again soon

The vegan set menus are delicious - you don't have to be vegan to appreciate the mixture of flavours and the bbq skewers are the nearest thing to spare ribs I've had since turning vegetarian over 30 years ago!

Services were very good and patient. Two of them can speak Mandarin. However, people are treated differently because Chinese prefer to drink hot water but it needs to be paid but topped water is free. Besides, it is not a 100% real Chinese restaurant. Dishes are not delicious to us.

Table for four (2adults, 2children). Excellent price, very good food and lovely staff. They seemed a bit busy with take away orders coming in constantly (only 2 other tables in the restaurant) but once we ordered food came out fast.

I'm a little surprised by the negative reviews. Hong Kong Express has always been good for me. Their Szechuan Tofu is very good, and the delivery is always very fast.

Never had a bad meal here or takeaway! Always order from here and no where else. Deep Fried Chilli Pork With Garlic is my favourite and I order it every time ! Delivery is great (they say 40 minutes but it comes within 20!)

Never had a bad meal in this establishment. Young vibrant front of house staff. Quick service, food comes fast and hot. However, short arsed drawf manager can be a pain in the Arse at times, and rude !! He seems to think he is funny taking the piss out of senior citizens. It's called Age discrimination !

This is our 5th visit on a Tuesday night when visiting the island. Usually have had the set menu for 4 but all decided to choose the set menu for 1. Next time we will share one between two! Enjoy staying on for the quiz!

Had a meal delivered midweek. Delivery time was reasonable (45 minutes). Portion size was good and food tasted fine. Nothing too complain about but nothing too special either.

Was happy with my decision to with Hong Kong Express. Found them via Google had some reviews which is always good. Hong Kong Express delivered for us and can not fault them on that. Ordered at 18:55 on a Saturday Night (Cowes Week 2011) and the meal was delivered by 19:10. We are living close by but that is great service. Portion size is good. Price OK. Food OK. Most of the main meals come with some rice which is nice. I would order from here again.

We booked online and it didn't go through. The staff were great and hurried to push 3 tables together for us and it made no difference. Food was very good. After they've served you they don't seem to keep an eye on you to see if you need something.

Hong Kong Express in Newport could be improved. Whilst dining there, I noted the following: Pros: - The bar lady was pleasant and polite; - The main was satisfying; - The desserts were satisfying; - Prices were fair; - Relaxing music - speaker positioned could be improved though, as the sound was coming from behind my head. Cons: - It would have been nice to be greeted by a staff member upon entering - arriving and being greeted by no one was slightly off putting; - The table wasn't laid out when we arrived - there were no forks or candles etc on the table; - Having a waiter/waitress come to our table would have been nice, as it got somewhat annoying having to order at the bar, and then having different staff deliver and take away our orders as the evening progressed; - The main menu on the table wasn't broad enough, in the sense that when we wanted to know what drinks were available (other than the wines), we had to go asking at the bar; - The telephone which rang four times when we were there, had a very annoying ringtone. It seemed to play a high pitched 'synth' style piece - very annoying; - When one of the staff saw the rain through the window, they blasphemed under their breath - not something I expect while dining; - The table flower appeared dry and dead - in addition, the table itself seemed cluttered, with several different menus on it that were not taken away once the main was delivered; - When we found the dessert's menu - on the bar - I found it to be sticky and not very pleasant to touch. In my opinion, the dessert's menu should be amalgamated into the main menu, as the main menu listed two desserts, when infact, the dessert's menu listed about ten. - It would have been nice if the door's overhead heater was on, to combat the cold draft experienced when people entered and exited; - The lights above our table were not switched on, making the table and surrounding area somewhat dark.
